On my way to Napier for the weekend as I'm running a formal dinner there tomorrow night and a geocaching event tomorrow morning. . I decided to leave earlier than planned due to the dreadful weather of the past couple of days and apart from a lot of water in the paddocks, the trip is relatively straightforward so I have a little time to collect a cache or two.
I have had my eye on this cache for a while and decided that today was the day to investigate it. I was disappointed to find that the walkway is closed during some maintenance and access is forbidden. Perhaps the CO should disable this cache until the walkway is repaired.

#9282. We found The Box on an evening walk in Meeanee two days ago, and discovered the twist. Set about to solve the puzzle yesterday, but then found something was missing. Undeterred, we wrote to the cache owner for assistance. Got a very helpful reply later in the day. Finally managed to get hold of what was required this morning, and then returned to The Box in the rain.
GZ was all quiet when we visited on both occasions. It would likely be different if they were during working hours as it appeared there were some construction activities nearby. The cache itself was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside.
Took stingers sea horse, Sleepy sloth, and Rubix Cube Puzzle
Dropped off Czech Travel Gecko Tag

Thanks for the puzzle and the prompt assistance, and for bringing us to this site (twice), and …

Day 13 of our North Is trip, and today we are based in Havelock North. And after days of warm, sunny weather, we experienced drizzle today, but we didn't let that dampen our caching activities too much.
We had retrieved the necessary tool last night so were keen to make our mark on this log book. GZ looked a little daunting, but I had a useful prodding tool (my walking pole) with me and soon found the cache.
StreetWalker grabbed the rubix cube to solve it back in the car. Left a few TBs. TFTC.

#13840. Nice idea for a cache. We picked up the access mechanism last night, and had no trouble getting to the log book. TFTC.
Misleading hint I reckon. Thanks to some advice to the contrary from Munkis I eventually did start searching the correct GZ, although finding a large hole with no cache in it had me messaging Munkis again! Eventually got there, but as I was unprepared; sandals and no gloves, I did shed blood to find this cache. Luckily the required tool was nearby, so the log was signed. Thanks for placing the cache. I'm giving it a favourite because I think the idea is fabulous.
After coming across the key a couple of months ago and not knowing what it was for, it was good to finally work it out. TFTC
We've had this Tauranga to Hawkes Bay trip planned for a couple of months now and this cache was all part of our great *'numbers'* plan. This was our 46th find today after a busy 51 finds yesterday. This was a very interesting bunch of last minute caches to do before we left The Bay. Fortunately DC knew what was what and we'd picked up the key already. Such a novel idea and I can't help but admire this guys dedication to setting up a good cache. He'd caught a glimpse for us as we headed toward gz - second meeting today and his help was invaluable so on behalf of the 3 of us I'd just like to thank you for that. So with The Box done and dusted we only had Rubix left which we were happy it was placed here by a previous cacher. With a set of coords good to go and time running out, we left everything with Nick and started on our trip home. TNXPro, DavidsonClan and myself have signed the logs T3A, an acronym from our messenger chat 'The 3 Amigos'. Cheers again Nick.

We had planned this trip from Tauranga to Napier area for weeks now, and this weekend was the time to get as many caches as we could find. We called ourselves "The Three Amigos" and logged as 'T3A' (and occasionally TA3 when Bruce wrote it - Duh).
This was one of our Must Do caches and as we had found the key to the cache earlier and Bruce had already tried this cache, we had to do this as we were leaving town soon.
We were seen heading towards this cache by CO. By now he recognises my distinctive blue station wagon, so he comes and joins us while we make the find and gain entry into the cache.
Our prize inside was the Rubix Cube which we quickly solved by process of elimination. With these coordinates gained, we were kind of in a rush to get out of town, but still had one last find to go (and to pick up the bikes from Kennedy Park).
We really enjoyed the clever caches from this CO and it was great to meet you.
Thanks for another great cache. Another fav point is yours.

I had been here earlier in the year but didn't have the required tool to get into the cache so had this on our must do list. I informed the others in the three amigos what tool was required so we were on the lookout for it while we cache around the bay. We were lucky enough to get the tool so stopped by on our way back to get the bikes. We were meet by the CO at this cache and had a quick chat about our weekend while Philip solved the Rubix cube to get the final co ordinates for one last cache before we headed out of town. Thanks Nick for all your caches you have really set a high standard for the Bay and I look forward to a return trip to find more caches in the Bay.
TFTC and an awesome weekend filled with adventure.

One of our favorites. Great way to spend our Saturday morning. Thanks Nick for another high quality hide. TFTC
In town tonight and was hoping to get the box unfortunately the key is in the hands of the last finder still have messaged them hopefully they will place in a cache tonight.
I have had my eye on this one for a while and I found the key a couple days ago knowing exactly what it was for. After a while a hint from the CO helped immensely and the cache was in hand quickly. I dropped off the Rubix TB so that someone else can find it. Nice hide. TFTC
Decided to go for dinner in Hastings so did a few quick caches along the way. Did this one on the way home. Found the necessary equipment and got the cache open. Left a few TBs here for next cacher. Thanks for the cache. Did with Mycro Man
Found the TB and then was contacted by NZkites, and we hit it together.

Great to find and log this cache today after locating a suitable tool to open this. Great to meet TheWonderStuff and find this together. Thanks Nick for your hide
Third time lucky -.- treasures need to be updated. Someone hadn't hidden it properly so we made sure we did
2nd attempt and still nothing. Looked for half an hour each time. We're so lost :'(
Got reaquainted with this container at last after its paint job. Rare find for me using the APP as I didn't intend finding this today but the opportunity arose anyway. A quick find on a very lovely winters afternoon. TFTC
A great ''box'' once we had retrieved the twist, thanks for the trades. Thanks nick this was great fun !
On a fun road trip with tmann421 and Princess-Emily.
Found this one quite quickly, then realised we were only half way there, but a quick drive across town to collect the required tool and Princess-Emily soon had this one opened. Great container and great theme cache.

Another nice find while in the area with Just-Lookin & Princess Emily.
Fun find - took a while to find the box then a bit of a road trip to get the required help to open it.

Found the cache in April, but couldn't get into it. This time we arrived prepared. Luckily the cache was still in the same place and so it was a quick find. No problems getting into the box this time.
Great cache.
Thanks.
Great cache.
Thanks.
found today while caching with Fredagg and trying out the local award winning pie great sunny day out aroha and happy caching
Aha! Very clever. Great size cache. Tftc. No injuries in the retrieval.
Found box. But we didn't solve clue to find what we needed next. Will go and think about it. Have not given up.
FAIRLY QUICK TO PICK THIS UP, GOT THE CLUE THEN HOME FOR LUNCH. WENT AND GOT THE OPENER AND BACK TO LOG THE FIND. IT'S REALLY GOOD TO FIND THE LARGER CACHES, PERSONALLY I THINK THERE ARE TOO MANY MICRO'S AROUND PARTICULARLY WHEN THE PLACES THEY ARE STASHED IS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, I CAN UNDERSTAND IT IF THEY ARE IN A HIGH MUGGLE AREA. ENOUGH!!. YOUR CACHE IS WORTH A WORLD CLASS, A1, SOLID GOLD POINT. THANKS NICK.
Mum and Dad were quite keen to complete this one, so after 10YO's rugby game the whole family headed off to search.
A passing car gave us a toot as we approached GZ - not sure if it was a fellow-cacher or someone we knew!?!
10YO opted to sit this one out, but 7YO and 3YO were right into the search (with Mum and Dad explaining the hint, and telling them what they shouldn't touch).
Mum and Dad were scratching their heads and about to call it quits when a little voice called out "I've found it" - 7YO had located the cache (with 3YO also claiming the find!)... He had found it in a place Mum and Dad had discounted with their interpretation of the hint. 7YO said: "You shouldn't tell me not to touch things... I found it because I was touching!"
We really like these sort of different caches - thanks!

Well this one has got me beat for now! I hunted a good 30m either side of the co-ords, I muttered to myself like a mad person and I tried to think like a cache hider but nothing worked! I will be back
Found it second time around! Very cool cache.
Hint says you shouldn't need sticky plasters.... If you don't find it you will need sticky plasters! Maybe next time!

A fun adventure with 5 of us hunting. Tricky but good. A great lot of treasures to swap and no cuts but lots of climbing and hunting low and high. Was determined to find this one. Was in first place we looked but obviously not properly! Thanks for the fun
I am about to put a replacement opening device in the location where it should have been. I am very sorry to those who found the box but could not open it. Hopefully the opening device lasts a bit longer this time without getting lost.
Found the box, but couldn't find what we needed to get into the box because it wasn't where it said it would be.
After searching for a considerable time with markhnz, hayleyhnz, hannahhnz and hollyhnz we eventually found The Box, but we were unable to collect the necessary item to access The Box as it was not in the place where it was supposed to be.
Disappointing as we are from Dunedin and won't be back for quite some time.

Found on a sunny afternoon caching in Napier. Had a personal redirection from the CO to help us find the GZ. Nudged us about 10m further down.... Great cache, loved it!
This has to be one of our faves so far! Amazing cache full of goodies, the kids LOVED it! Really enjoyed the twist also, made for a fun challenge!
Yay....was a mission but got there in the end! And what a fabulous treasure chest, we loved it. Thankyou for making ot extra fun
Wow what a find ! Thank you Nick for hiding such a big box of treasures ! And a very well consealed spot for such a big container. No cuts on our second visit.

Had a pretty good hunt but a tricky place to search. Pretty sure we ended up searching the right place but there are certain parts I wasn't keen on checking out. Walked away with lots of cuts.
Came back for a second attempt after coords were updated so we had a smaller area to search. Armed with equipment we still had no luck and arms are shredded.
Well, after hopping back in the car we decided one more quick look.
what do you know, we turned up with a box....(looked further a field than gps was showing us)
there is a twist, but its not up to us to let that cat out of the box!!!
Thanks for the hide.
great treasure to be had for the kids
