I joined Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK for a trip to Sydney to drop in on another Celebration Event. This time in the Hawksbury. We used up the rest of the day doing a series of Challenge caches near Penrith, including a bonus First to Find, and then some of the EG caches surrounding the event location. A long but exhiklerating day of caching.

Thanks for the cache teamMerlin

Headed Sydney way with fitzy_1965 and albida33 today.

We had seen the community celebration event a few weeks ago. I was keen to get to Ebenezer as my Australian family roots come from there so made plans to head north today. After a foggy start, it turned out to be a rather warm day compared to Canberra and surrounds lately.

On our way through Ebenezer, we decided to start doing this series of caches. My Ancestry Family Reunion is held in Ebenezer at the Church every 5 yrs. It got postponed from last year and has just been postponed again so nice to come up here regardless. My descendants, on my Australian side, were on the Neptune which was part of the Second Fleet. They are buried at Ebenezer and Wilberforce cemeteries.

Turning to head for home, we collected a few more caches whilst we had some time up our sleeves. Thanks teamMerlin. Ants have made a little nest here.

24,769. Found with minniek and albida33 during a run up to the Ebenezer region for a Community Celebration Event.

When we spotted another Community Celebration Event being held up at a Winery in the Ebenezer region, we decided to head up that way for a full day of caching. A foggy start from Goulburn had us soon burn through for what was a lovely day to be outside. After finishing off a bunch of challenge caches along The Northern Road - including a surprise first to find - we started doing the EG-Q series and other bonus caches along the way. After the event we continued along cherry-picking caches. This was a nice quick find. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we headed off to the next one.

Thanks teamMerlin !!

We found this one over 18 months ago on 14th April 2019, whilst enjoying a short three day caching holiday in the area, and somehow managed to miss logging it at the time. Only realised today when we came across the photos of the cache without a "find number" allocated to it, which should really have been find #3099 coming after find #3098 GC5QTBJ EG-Q#23: Myrtle Farm.

Anyway logging it today out of sequence. Photos of cache locality (not spoiler) & signed log included as proof of the find on 14-04-2019. TFTC teamMerlin, and sorry for the very late log.

Great day of caching near the Hawkesbury River. Started in Ebenezer with the AL, unfortunately very unsuccessful as the location service on my phone was struggling and could not fix on the wp's I needed. Luckily I also made a good plan for other caches so the day turned out productive. Weather was really good, about 20 with a little breeze and nice and sunny. Quick park and grab

   CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Streak day 60.
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

I was on my way to a New Year's day event at the Tizzana Vineyard and decided to leave early from home so I could pick up some of the many caches in the area.

Many of the finds were related to the Ebenezer GeoQuest series, but as I did not manage to visit all of the 25 caches, I definitely will need to comeback for more geocaching in this beautiful area.

Another day OCW marj01. After a very early start from the eastern subs we arrived at Ebenezer at first light to commence the day. During the course of the day we visited 69 trads, 4 multis, 2 puzzle and 2 letterbox caches. With only a handfull of dnfs it was a successfull day, with the majority of the caches being found in a reasonably short time. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and maintaining their caches and providing us with a fun day. Great views from here. Cheers oldmorty.

Out caching with @itsonlybarney.

Suffering from a bit of geocaching withdrawal after our geocaching holiday. We decided to take the opportunity of the good weather to grab as many caches as we could. We managed to get 25 finds for the day. TFTC.

**Total find count: 538**

After a week way from the searching for caches after our holiday, we needed to get out and about on a glorious day. With a total of 25 finds for the day, it felt good to make some finds after a week of no finds.

All caches were in excellent condition except as otherwise noted in my comments below.

Just one more quick park and grab in this series, although it might be best to park further afield than we did, although luckily noone came through while we quickly located and signed the log.

In between the CITO in the reserve and the Meet-&-Greet event at the winery I had a few minutes to collect one of about three remaining EG-Q caches that I need before I can tackle the final. I'm not sure why I have missed doing this one, but probably because I've been in a hurry to get to the CITO on time every month.

It was a quick find, although I first checked one or two of the 'decoys' close by. I soon had the cache in hand and added my name to the log sheet. Once everything was put back in place I could head on over to the winery for a relaxed get-together with the other cachers.

19-Aug-17
No I didn't see any fallow deer in Prenice Lane but there was a donkey in the field beside where I parked the geomobile.

I noted what was growing opposite for the final puzzle. It looked very lush and seems to be the same variety we have at home. They were watering while I was here and the water was spraying out onto the road and the geomobile. Washed the windscreen at least!

The cache was a quick but prickly find. Log signed and some TBs visited then it was back into the prickles to replace the cache.

This was our sixth stop. And easily the smelliest location we have ever been. Took longer then I would have liked.
Thanks for the drive, paddock views and cache!

Out caching for the day, after having spent the night camping at Cattai National Park, we decided to take on the Ebenezer Geo-Quest.
Next cache on today's quest. Stopped by the side of the road and soon had the cache in hand. Took a look at what kind of crop might be growing, but had to revert to the sign by the main road before getting it.

Today's in such beautiful weather I took a tour from Wilberforce to Ebenezer and took the ferry across the Hawkesbury back to Tizzana Road. I was able to look at old buildings along the tracks, taking a nice busch walk to enjoy the beautiful view of the river.
This tour was very nice and I have enjoyed myself very much

Having been in the area earlier this week for an event at Tizzana Winery I come back arm with a fully charged phone and new batteries in my GPS. I'm pushing to find 1000 by next Saturday I'm out for a big day. TFTC. This was the first and only find for the day I was looking everywhere when a driver stop I thought he was going to ask if I was ok but instead asked if I was looking for a cache. So together we looked before declaring it a DNF and move on in our opposite direction.

14-Jul-16
I headed back up to Ebenzer to try and finish TeamMerlins wonderful series and grab a few others while I could. I went via Wisemans Ferry again to grab a few around there I missed last time.

Ran into fellow cacher Wracie here. She was travelling in a different direction to me. We both looked for a good while with no luck. Since it had been found only days before, I think it might have fallen off into the scrub. Had a look with no success.

This one proved a little tricky but I eventually spotted it. Nice history. I couldn't work out what they grew across the road as the fields were bare.

#3141 (9 of 13 today) (Streak day 402)

The Geowife is enjoying herself at a craft fair with a friend, so I thought I'd head somewhere for a few caches while she was away.
I decided on an area I hadn't plundered for finds before - Ebenezer. Should be easy to rack up a good few finds in a couple of hours - and so it proved. Went for 14 and found 13.
Also found highlights of a fascinating history out this way. Well worth the trip - will definitely need to return for more soon.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Second in a row that I missed the obvious.
Went around in circles for a few minutes until I got that facepalm moment. Unbelievable!

Completed signing duties and replaced. Then went to grab the clue. Hmmm - not sure on this one - nothing obvious at this time of year. Found a sign a distance from GZ. Hope that's it.

Time to start heading back. Can still grab a few more on the way, though...

I took the long way to Windsor from the Central Coast today in order to visit Wisemans Ferry (to grab one of the 3 remaining caches I need to complete my "finds by hidden date" grid) and to explore the back blocks of Ebenezer.

I had my second encounter in a row with random muggle motorists here. Just as at the Port Eringhi cache, a car came up behind me as I pulled up in the middle of the laneway at GZ! I wonder what she must have thought! I had to then drove on another 100m or so until I came to a spot where I could pull over and let her past, before doing a u-turn and heading back to GZ where I was able to make a quick find (thanks teamMerlin) having spied the cache from the car. Fortunately, I was then back in the car, which I'd managed to park half off the road, when another local came along in their car ... OMG, what is going on here, this is just a back country lane!!! Me thinks 5pm is probably not the best time to be caching in semi-residential areas ... Wink

ANZAC Day and day number 2 for this EG-Q trail plus some nearby caches. It was a good caching session along with thereimer, karennicole and Blundo Buster Jnr.
