Didn't find it this time. The fact that it was pouring rain and night didn't help note to others, there are some VERY spiky plants in there, so just be careful as they leave a dam decent scratch.
Cape Byron Rover Crew DNF. Looked around for a long time in the dark and the rain, but couldn't find it. The creek was flowing very well in the rain! We will try again another time, hopefully with better weather.
Was dark and rainy night. After four people out search still didn't find it... Hopefully will be back to find it during daylight and clear weather. Feeling like we were where it was and after reading the logs after we left we figured it was next time!!
Hi, found what we think is the forgotten project, but couldn't find the cache after a good search. Needs maintenance.
Well, we came back today armed with info from diamonj but still no go. I think someone has made off with this one... however, my twin 10 year olds stripped buff and went for a swim in the frezzing cold swimming hole and had a blast. I had trouble getting them out after they lost all feeling in their extremities!!! We will come back in summer and I may even have a swim. Too cold today for me, tho.
Pity we couldnt find the cache but who cares?? We had a fabulous time anyway!!

Well it turns out that today was not our day, and maybe this project is not so forgotten. Although it looks very forgotten, but the cache which is suppose to be here did not want to show itself today.
After spending about 15 minutes looking around the GZ was soon spotted but some 15m from the actual coords. A good look around and nothing, so decided to give a friend a call and see if we were certainly in the right spot. I described where we were and that was confirmed and they related where they found the cache not to long ago and certainly no container there.
Now 2nd time to visit this area, for 2 different caches and both resulted in DNF's, maybe sometime in the future it will be 3rd time lucky.

Different location to GPS.
Entered in the wrong spot but soon found it when I looked around further.

The blue helped but the coordinates didn't.... and we left the pan back at the car. Perhaps geocaching is the wrong platform for my entertainment. TFTC. Awesome location.
What a beautiful creek and waterfall. The clues helped the search. and find. TFTC
We were here last May to try to find this cache. All we succeeded in doing was break up a fight amongst some young youths who were 2 against 1 at the gate. The cache completely alluded us. We hunted and hunted until it just about drove us mad. We were about 14 metres away and didn't see GZ at all. Today GZ presented itself, and I have no doubt it was here when we were looking in May, and we wondered why we didn't see it before. Oh well, a nemesis cache can be crossed off. Very happy to add our signature to the log today Aus Bass. Thanks for the cache! [^][^]
Once we found our way to the forgotten project and not where co-ords wanted us to be it was a very quick find. TFTC.
Leaving Mrs Grundies in the car I took on the challenge and failed today. Looked high and low with no success. Maybe I may have had more luck with another pair of eyes but it wasn't for lack of trying. You should see the track log on my GPSr!!! A pretty little stream and water hole hidden away here. TFTH
Found with the Arnos and gk's. Lots of insect repellent used. a beautiful piece of regenerated rainforest.
Looked high and low for this one and then realized what they 'forgotten' project was, right above our noses! TFTC
So, GPS jumpy, went down to water hole, beautiful, then the Mozzies!!! Scanned the banks. So...use the description and hint, then a bit of backtracking and bushbashing for an easy find.
We looked for this many months ago and had no luck, today we entered and was following our GPS when I suddenly spotted the forgotten project and an easy cache find, our GPS and phone had us at 15 metres away from GZ, but we can now cross this off and put a smilie on it. TFTC
After making this a hard DNF previously, today it was an easy oh there it is. Coords were out for us and today we did not have jumpy GPS signal in here. TFTC
GPS had me in the wrong spot. Soon found the forgotten project and the cache. Grabbed the tb. Thanks for placing. Bailed up by angry dog on way out but lucky owner was there to subdue the beast.
Loved this one - for the beautiful walk and scenery as well as the larger sized cache. Thanks! A fav point from us
We enjoyed the walk to GZ with Gourmetgazelle but should have stayed on the correct side of the water way. It was a quick find for a more athletic member of our crew. Between us we took the two TBs and left one because it wanted a project to work on. This cache certainly allowed for this possibility. TFTC, aus-bass.
A quick easy find while out with my muggle mum. I think today's trip has converted her. We found 9 caches today and enjoyed some lovely, little known areas of our region. After a previous DNF on this cache, I was glad to claim the smiley today. We used a different tactic than last time which lead to our success. Thanks for the hunt today aus_bass.
Well 'the forgotten project' was a project and a half for PurpleDarkness but so glad we persevered.
Twice we entered the area topsy-turvy ... but in reward we found ourselves wandering around a beautiful creek area with a small waterfall and what looks like a crystal clear swimming hole.
However, time was moving on, the GPS was not responding and Darkness suggested calling it a day and decisively made his way back up to the car. Purple wasn't so sure about leaving yet and poked around some more, then some more and then a little bit more again. Purple was being 'stubborn' ... but finally started walking to where Darkness had disappeared to.
In the meantime Darkness had got bored waiting and had walked in yet another way to the creek, and found a perfect place for a cache to be. Purple caught up and now the description made perfect sense. Another case of 'sometimes you have to leave the beaten path' to find treasure.
Perfect description and very rewarding once found. TFTC a_b.

Gorgeous spot! Geocaching takes me to some amazing places so close to suburbia. There was a short sharp shower as I returned to the car. TFTC
Out on a geocaching day trip with my husband to try to collect some caches around Lismore and Alstonville. After an extensive search of GZ we could not locate the cache. This is such lovely place, thanks for bringing us here. We searched for 16 caches today and found 14. Thanks for the hunt today aus_bass. We will be back to claim a smiley for this one!
I grew up near here and spent plenty of time playing in the creek as a kid. No better place to find my first cache. Tftc.
Well, I don't know if the GPS was playing up or what, but we didn't find the cache, nor did we even see where we later heard we should have been looking. Cache blindness?! Stupidity?! Poor GPS activity?! Who knows, but we will have to try for this one when in the area next. Thanks anyway aus bass.
Thank you for bringing me to this gorgeous area.
Didn't I turn this into a bigger than Ben Hur excercise! I rock in on the most well trodden path to the creek. Previous loggers state the cache is on this side of the creek. Perhaps I will come in from the high side? The co-ordinates afforded to me brought me to a place where no man has trod before. Here I am, Tarzan like, hanging from a tree. I have crawled through brambles. The cache does state that it is slippery. Is their idea of a terrain 3 the same as my idea of a terrain 3? At one point I got stuck. A furry tree had stuck on to my t-shirt. I could not find a way out. I am a girl. It is probably not appropriate to cut my t-shirt off.
I go back down to the creek. Shall I cross the creek and re-cross the creek and try this one from downhill? There has been a lot of rain. I am not the dainty butterfly. I decide to try the high side one more time. I decide the cache must be in some unexplorable domain and then I read the cache description one more time. I take a panoramic view and give it a wild shot.
It turns out it is not as hard as I made it. I found the cache 16m from posted co-ordinates.

Went out with Griffo to get this cache this morning. We certainly earnt the difficulty terrain points for this one. We headed off down a track and then worked out a way across the swollen and rapidly flowing creek. Didn't get wet. Then continued in the direction of the arrow... only to find that the arrow suddenly pointed to the other side of the creek. Found another way BACK to the original side of the creek and the faced a climb up a steep muddy bank ....thank heavens for tree roots for footholds and tobacco bush stems for hand holds. Top of the bank and the spied where we new we needed to be. The cache was spotted and log signed. We found a much easier route back to the car. Thanks for the cache aus_bass
Dropped by with Renroc around 12 noon. Crossed the creek that was in full flow and then realised it was on the side from which we had jus crossed.
We spotted our target and made a quick find. all is good with the cache and contents after the recent deluge.
Thanks

As I walking into this little park, thought to myself i'm sure I've done a cache here before, so a quick check of my GPSr confirmed I was in the right spot. Got to what I thought was GZ and loooked and looked but no luck. The GPSr was jumping all over the place under the trees so I decided to restart and get a clear signal and re approach. This time I came in from another angle and success. I spotted a likely spot and a quick search revealed the hide. Definitely worth thinking outside the box if you have trouble with this one.

My second day in Lismore and surrounds. I am heading home today after finding a few more finds.
I am now making my way back to the highway via a few good caches.
I followed the phone done to the creek and was soon searching this way and that, eventually the phone pointed a completely different direction which soon revealed the cache.
Took the TB as well.
Thanks for the cache.

You done well aus bass to get a reading in here as my GPS was up and down like a yoyo, however as you approach GZ you know where you have to be,it really is a nice place in here and down the track at the little water fall, very happy to claim FTF,but where are all the Lismore geocachers.TFTC aus bass.
