We think the GZ is currently underwater given yhf high lake level. Got scared out of our tree as a goose flew off right in front of us. With miniAG.
A nice peaceful walk around the lake to grab this one. No problems making the find. Contents all nice and dry. TFTC!
Managed to haul a buggy with the baby along this track, beautiful walk and quick find! Dropped off a TB.
Driving from Gisborne to Taupo today on our road trip.Stopped off here for a well deserved break and took a walk around the lake.Noticed the geotrail followed it and made a find.

Making our way to Napier this morning. We stopped here for lunch and then had the bonus of finding four caches in the area. We enjoyed the walk around the lake. Tempted to climb the fence to get to the pittos but then I read a previous log. Fence post would be a better hint

Thanks nickhbnz for the cache. It’s #1463 for us. We found your cache on 26 February 2021. Found after a lovely walk along the lakeside track. Thank heavens there was a working pen in the cache as we realised we’d forgotten ours as we were approaching GZ!! Lovely walk. Thanks for bringing us here CO.
Found this cache on 10/10/2020 but then got distracted fishing and forgot to log it as found when I got back to my phone! TFTC
The plan was to travel from Wellington up to Lake Waikaremoana for the long weekend, and then do the Great Walk (half way) around the lake. Sadly only half of that plan came true, but along the way I grabbed a few select caches and this was one of them.
Camping for the night nearby, I took an evening walk around the lake for this one. I did have to detour off the track at one point as a goose and its goslings (not Ryan) were blocking the path and I didn't feel that I should take on a mother goose protecting its young. Once at the GZ, no problem finding the cache (despite having no idea what the hint was). TFTC.

A very pleasant walk around the smaller lake, with at least five grey fantails, flitting and fluttering around and about and following us. With only a bit of navigation to go by, as the download failed, it was not too hard to sort where GZ might be. Absolutely no need to clamber up and over any fences, cache easily retrieved, log signed and returned... very kid friendly indeed. TFTC nickhbnz
found at the end of our walk to Peres lookout. lots of bird life enjoying the flowering flax and cabbage trees. tftc no need to climb the barbwire fence I discovered after completing this tricky manouver .
One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
Nice stroll in spite of the nearby construction site. TFTC!!

Found after a pleasant walk halfway round the lake. Was a bit worried that I might be the wrong side of the fence at first but no worries. TFTC
Stopped off along our route today to find a few caches by the lakes. A beautiful place to explore. It was a gentle little stroll around the lake and the cache was easily reached from the lakeside track. Surpised to see how long it is since this was last visited. Dropped off Wedding Geocoin copy, which might encourage another cacher to visit. SL. TFTC.
Good find thanks. Took the wrong training k on the way around so a few small scratches but was good fun.
A quick easy find after walking around the lake. We made the mistake of using a secondary path on our way around, but came back on the main track. TFTC

On a short holiday, destressing and roadtripping up to Gisborne via a heap of caches.
Last time we were through we stopped, found the cache at the parking area and left again. With a little more time up our sleeves and less caches on the road ahead, a short walk was in order and we got to enjoy the scenery. TFTC

School holidays, must be time for a road trip to Gisborne. And of course a cache or two.
We left this one last time we passed but decided we had enough time for a walk today. Watch out for the nesting geese.

Today I decided to head up to Lake Tutira with my grand-daughter to camp for a few days and to sign off the odd cache.
In: TB.
Cheers for the cache.

Cheers for the cache.
Plenty of geotrail to follow but still no luck Garmin batteries are dead and phone is not accurate enough. cheers from casa del hince TFTC
We walked around the lake and had some problems finding the cache, it was behind the fence, but with TFTC
Nice walk around the lake, saw trout jumping on the way round, along with Kingfisher, Tui and other bird life. I think I like this lake better than Tutira. Watch the barb wire as the the others have said or like me I send one of the kids over!
Nice easy find. Path there is a bit rough to navigate at the start at the moment with the work being done on it. But otherwise was a rather nice walk also wasn't keen on the barbed wire fence. I feel this could have been placed better
nice area to explore havnt been over this side before love the effort and work being completed here tftf aroha and happy caching
3TF. We'd stopped for the night at Lake Tutira in Barnaby and decided to take the loop walk round Lake Waikopiro before the sun went down. Nice little lake and due to a recent lack of rain in the area the track round the back, near GZ, was surprisingly dry: in wet weather it would be quite muddy in places. At GZ I could see getting to the cache wasn't going to be easy: climbing over the fence requires great care as the barbed wire on the top is vicious. Once over the cache was a quick and easy find, then had to carefully negotiate the barbed wire to get back. Given the various plastic toy swaps in the cache we didn't feel the location was ideal: I wouldn't be sending children over the fence to get the cache. Still, we enjoyed the walk round the lake. TFTC
Lovely walk around the lake. Some newly cut paths but as of yet they don't all connect up but I'm sure they will soon enough. Once at GZ cache was quickly found, signed and put back as we could see someone hanging around our car from across the lake. TFTC
A nice little walk in a beautiful area.
We were really surprised to find a blank log book here given there was a CITO here this weekend & the other 2 near here were signed but not logged yet. Co ords were spot on.
Left a pet rock -a brown seal. TFTC & the {FTF }

We made it to GZ hmmm it could be anywhere along here. Check the hint "pittosporum" yep we see that but its over the fence ..... do we need to go over the fence with barbed wire on top? I would hope the answer is no. So we search along fence line only to be attacked on our legs and hands by thorns that blend in that most you cant see until you touch them and get thorns in you! Thought we may have better luck searching on the other side of the fence so back tracked a few hundred meters so we can access other side, get to about 20m away from GZ and cant make it through any further due to dense buch. No luck for us today, wasn't a pleasant experience with all the thorns.
