Logs
Cache found and log signed with dalerious .
dalerious and I planned a day trip to Eildon and a select few caches were placed on our list .
Kayaks on the car, we headed off bright and early to get the most from the day.
This was the first time dalerious and I had been to Eildon together .
As a child, this was my second home. My family would drive up here from Melbourne from the early 70's. It was a different place back then. At first, we used to pitch a tent at the caravan park near the spill way, then my parents ended up buying a holiday house here.
dalerious and I drove past it today and it was sad to see it's condition.
We had so much fun growing up in this awesome place.
My Dad always had boats and our day consisted of packing the boat and car with supplies and driving out to the Eildon boat ramp and heading to our most favourite spot on the lake. We made it our Island, and we called it just that. We had no idea it had an official name, we just new it was ours. We would spend all day on that Island . Dad would fish off the bank, or troll from the boat. Us kids used to swim all day. My uncle used to sit there in the shade, with his terry towel hat, tissue perched on his nose under his sunnies, listening to the test cricket on the ABC.
Beautiful memories rekindled on our visit today.
The kayaks got a good workout getting some awesome T5 caches, one was on "our Island".
It was so surreal coming out here to this Island again after so many years. The emotions were running high I can tell you. They were such good day's that come to an end in the course of one's life, but I am so happy to visit this place again with my man, and kayaking across with him was a highlight .
Thank you Clever Monkey for placing this cache on my Island, and thank you also to Derringer who placed the original one back in 2005.
Favourite given for the visit back to my roots.

Knowing now exactly "How deep the Eildon" was, catnap777 and I relocated from Bonnie Doon to the marina at Eildon to take on our next crazy adventure on the lake this day.
House Boat Central was THE place to be as we struggled to find a park to launch our two single kayaks from a very busy public access boat ramp that usually caters for much larger craft.
The paddle out to the island was a new and welcome one to me with a view of the lake around us I had never witnessed. To my partner it was like going home, even though the place had changed a lot since she was last there.
After eventually finding our well hidden treasure, we had a bit of a scrounge around for the old Deringer one, but of course it was long gone.
Back on dry land we packed up and went on to do Steve's Rocks and The Goat's Lair rockhopping and caving at Caviat before heading for home.
TFTC Clever Monkey.

As a teenager, I spent some time exploring this island, and I’ve always enjoyed seeing it when I passed by.
Today we are on a boating trip to locate some geocaches.
Myself, Ronice88, Juzzmagic and my muggle mate Keith gathered at the Boat Harbour for the start of our mission. We stopped here as we returned after finding a couple of other, nearby, caches, and Ronice and I enjoyed the lovely moss covered ground as we searched. The container was soon found, after referring to previous logs.
Thanks for your work Clever Monkey.

Calm peaceful serenity of moss…a quiet look revealed the treasure. Yay for Crusty! And high water levels. And the opportunity for this landlubber to explore far from home. This trip to Eildon has been on the cards for sometime but weather events have sabotaged plans until now as these little ducks like a bit of sunshine. The planets finally aligned and with a good forecast with little wind, crustyvarmint got a crew and a plan together and so here we are. TFTC and the fun!
Setting out on a cold day, we paddled out almost a km to make it to the island. Searching around GZ, it didn’t take long to find an area that looked like a possible hiding location, and it was quickly found. It was on the way back that we got struck by very heavy wind and rain, and almost didn’t make it back to shore. What an adventure! Assisted by Rusty. Thanks very much for the cache, favourite point incoming
The mossy cover made this a bit tricky.
Have a good hunt on ground zero to locate.
Thanks for the find

Thanks for the find
Had my mate drop me on the island while he went for a ski, I had a good hunt around GZ but no luck. Description mentions an existing hole covered in moss, the entire surface of the island was covered in moss so that didn't help! Checked the hint, the thing it refers to doesn't exist, it has been completely grown over so no idea where it could be. Over a year since the last find and mother nature has made it very tricky
Out with nianiu for a canoe, tftc glad we found it after not being found for nearly 2 years. Whoop whoop
#16 Lovely day for a paddle with Eric the dog, Tash, Jessie, Dom, Maddy and myself, first time this cache has been found since 2019! A bit tricky but definitely worth it favorites find yet!
I'd spent a grumpy morning puttering about in our caravan at Taggerty doing chores but eventually M told me to get out and do something and stop bothering him. I wasn't really in the mood for a long hike so I decided to bring my kayak over to Eildon Weir and have a go at finding this T5 cache.
The initial 2km were all into the wind and I eventually changed my course slightly to try to get behind the island and possibly out of the wind. This seemed to work but once ashore I found I had landed at the exact opposite end from the cache location. So a short, uphill hike took me past the lone pine and down again to the cache. With the hint in mind, it didn't take too long to locate and I soon had the log book signed.
Once back at my trusty craft, and buoyed with my success here, I decided to try for [GCMMNF marturdom](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCMMNF_marturdom) nearby.
All up I kayaked about 6.5km which was a lovely way to spend my afternoon. Way better than chores!
Thanks for fin #1483
TNLN, Cache in good, dry condition awaiting the next visitor.

Just as I asked ‘ready to give up?’ I turned around and found it. Well hidden! Definitely worth travelling over in our half deflates dingy!
I met my fisherman husband at lunchtime at the boat ramp with his lunch in return for a trip out on the lake to find some caches. First stop, the island where a well camouflaged cache was found. Added a bracelet and other bits and pieces, took nothing. TFTC And a favourite from me

###Friday has returned!###
***No it’s Tuesday! Tuesday adventure***
Well how lucky am I, it took a few years to get over to this island and find the Derringer cache (Lonesome Pine), not long after it gets archived. Now the good man CleverMonkey has placed another here and I get to have another awesome adventure on the kayak and pick up a T5 cache
After a slight altercation with a temperamental parking meter (who the hell puts parking meters out this way) I finally set off from the spillway boat ramp.
The paddle over was surreal with low cloud on the hills. The distance to the island seemed way shorter than my last trip, even the island looked considerable different. Last trip the lake was just starting to rise after the record low’s of the drought.
Cache was very well camouflage and only found it because the co-ords has me basically standing on it, now that the paper work was done it was time to bid a sad fair well to Robinson and make my way over to Lakeside 1
Muchas gracias mi amigo
Cheers ♡

Found with team redkilla been dreaming about this for ages log to follow what and adventure!!!
This has been mocking the team for a while so why not do some Christmas caching!!! And this was first on the list!!! And bang!!! In the bag and got it sorted with the JetSki a big help!!
I had just finished Lakeside #1 and decided that I still had the energy to head towards this cache. When I set off for Lakeside #1 I paddled into the breeze so that I could cruise back however the weather gods had different plans for me. In the 15 minutes that it took me to grab the cache the wind direction changed and I found myself once again paddling into the breeze...however this time it wasn't a breeze...the water was getting choppy.
It was a 3.5Km paddle to get to this cache and by the time I was down to the last Km I was seriously considering turning back however I plodded on. I found a sheltered landing spot and mad my way up the hill to the GZ. In front of me I saw something scrabbling around and realised it was an echidna...it saw me and buried itself. I carried on and started my hunt for the cache once I reached the GZ. I walked innumerous circles of the GZ before I spotted something, With cache in hand I signed the log and replaced it.
On the way back to the kayak I once again stumbled upon the echidna and this time it was obliging enough to pose for a photo.
Thanks for bringing me here. TNLN. TFTC.

Decided to go for a little bit of a paddle in the rain today and practice some skills and drills. This one looked like a nice easy cruise to pick up, and hadn't been found for over a year. Lovely spot CleverMonkey and a delightfully sneaky hide too. Also impressive is that there is something living on that island........
Nice cache, randomly got the opportunity to do this one, so I did. Thanks for hiding it here.
Out for the a day skiing on the lake with MuggleWifeDoes and brother-in-law and family and luckily I get to go a cache or several.
Launched early and the lake was still a little choppy so it's caching first and the island sounds like a good place to start. Having found the Lonesome Pine 4 years back it's surprising how similar this hide is. Found fairly quickly on a day with the island surrounded by houseboats. Cache is in good order.
Thanks for placing this cache Clever Monkey

First cache of the day with the geoboat as we reassessed our plans because it was too windy to ski. The island certainly looks different with the water down. The four adults decided to walk/climb up the bank leaving the two nieces in the boat and were well rewarded by the views of the lake with mountains and houseboats in the background. Love this part of the country. TFTC.
Found on 3/1/16.
So my geo boyfriend and i decided to take our muggle friends for a bit of an adventure, excited to see there was a new cache here we got in the boat and went for a drive. Parked on the island, tied the boat up then realised our first problem... we forgot to bring our shoes. Still determined to get the smiley we decided to tough it out and brace the rocks. With a few minor slips we made it to the top and found a few tracks going in different directions . This time facing the bindis and other prickles on our poor bare feet. So we are finally getting closer when we rlcan see the water again and realised that we probably parked on the wrong side of the island. Anyway we got to the GZ and after a bit of searching we had the cache in hand. Then for the journey back, more prickles, more rocks, and a lot of sliding on our bottoms! It was nice to get back to the lake and dip our sore feet into the nice cool water. All in all though, it was a great adventure for a lazy Sunday thanks for the cache

How frustrating this cache has been for me. Published not long after we put the water toys away for winter, it has sat here taunting me. All through winter I stood at Alliance and looked out towards Mcdonald Island, but it was too cold for getting my feet wet. Now the weather is considerably more favourable for action on the water. Woohoo!! About time!!
I needed to find a cache to collect the new Goodbye 2015 souvenir, but I was in Eildon and the only caches I've got left to find around here are in trees. Hmm. Ping! It suddenly occurs to me that there's a few caches on the lake! And the boat and jetski are right here ready for action. Phew, crisis averted, glad I couldn't get them until now, lol. It wasn't hard to lure manzie out on the jetski for a cache, being Summer and all, so it was just a matter of finding a spot to pull up and manzie waiting with the jetski while I did the deed. "I could be a while," I said. "It's a D3." With that I was off. Wandering around in circles it was becoming clear that this wasn't going to be easy. The hint didn't help either Clever Monkey, it relies on direction. I must have pulled up on the opposite side to you, as I found the cache on the right of the track. But, more specifically, right where I was standing, lol. I stopped to assess my surroundings and, lo and behold, something moved under my foot which revealed the cache. Excellent. Trip was much quicker than anticipated. TFTC!!

Joint FTF with RangerDF.
Wet wet and wet, long haul, 4 hrs sleep, up early sweet flat ride out here on the boat, thought we were going to have to kamakazi a house boat that was near 'OUR' island,
It was ours. We owned it this morning.
Little man found it.
Superb location and def worth the funny looks we got from our wives as to our plans.
TFTC !!!
Another FTF ON MY 200TH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay. FTF!!! With deutz4544. What an epic! Left Melbourne at 9pm with boat and geokids. After lots of windy dirt roads we finally found our campsite around 12am. Not too much time to sleep as we didn't want to be beaten to the cache.
After lightening woke me up (0430) it was time to go! Probably a little bit too exuberant but hey, it is a FTF and it involves a boat! Still dark when we got to ramp so while we waited we got a couple of caches.
Nice smooth run to on the boat to the cache. We thought a house boat was going to beat us there but it was going passed us the other way.
Thanks for bringing us out here. Favourite for me.
