Thanks for the cache 2y'stassies.The GeoGSP's and I were heading home today after another lovely weekend on the northwest coast. This is another cache that has been elusive for me, although I've never been able to 'search' for it - that's because each time I've previously approached GZ there have been muggles very close - either sitting at the tables, sitting on the bench admiring the view, sitting in a car in the car parking spot closest to GZ, or even fishing off the rocks immediately in front of the rocks. Today I decided to make another attempt, and it turns out Sunday morning is a good time to visit. A short search and I was soon signing the log. This is the last of the 'Waiting for the Ferry' series for me - and I've never been waiting for the ferry at any stage.
Hi 2y'stassies. Today we found your cache on the Devo trip for the year. VK7HCH and I hatched yet another plan to whip it up to the north to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA. As there are so many caches in this area we had freedom of choice to do those we wished to. We have solved a few puzzles so we can find those and lots of others. Although I didnt find the girl U want, the caches were enough. Its a beautiful world here in Tassie. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5260 and I found it on Saturday 26 Oct 2024FTF: NoMates: VK7HCHMuggles: Condition: GoodWeather: slightly cloudyMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)Tractable also visited your cache
Thanks 2y'stassies for placing Waiting For The Ferry: A River View. Swampy and I headed back to plunder more of the Northern coast over the Hobart Show long weekend. 4 day long weekend for 1 days annual leave. Sweet. This is day 23 Devonport and surrounds. At least my log is not full of bad 80s references. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. This is my GC find #2199 and was found on 26/10/2024 at 16:55FTF: Found with: SwampyWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Find# 12080Nice quick find.We are on a two-week driving g tour of Tassie. We're based in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney NSW.TFTC 2y'stassies
This morning we did a maintenance run on some caches from the "Waiting For The Ferry" series. Of the seven we checked, all were in place and in good condition (except for one having a spilt plastic bag).Although we were not aware of any issues, we checked on this cache as we walked by. All OK.
By the river it's a nice breezeThanks For The CacheINFORMATIONFind (EST)/SL Time:1M/14:52TODAY FINDS/DNF:6/1Finder Note: All SYSTEMS GO ON THIS CACHE!
The cache has been the victim of park maintenance. It has been replaced and us ready to be found.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, our visit to Cradle Mountain and Tasmania has already come to an end. Tonight, we sail back to the mainland with the night boat.We arrived early in Devonport and before the boat leaves there is still time for some cache in the area. This cache was not found during that tour.**2y'stassies**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. The last days were spent in Cradle Mountain which we absolutely loved. Today we drove to Devonport and tonight the Spirit of Tasmania will ferry us back to the mainland. It is lovely weather and we arrived rather early. So plenty of time for a nice walk along the coast. Apparently we had some starting problems because we weren't able to find the first three caches of this seres we visited. Luckily we then picked ourselves up and the rest of the caches we visited of this series were all found. Thanks to this series we had a excellent walk and a very enjoyable time while waiting for the ferry. Thank you very much for this series.
Quick find with accurate coords. Cache is in good condition. Very nice ppot on the river, thanks for placing it.
A quick find with frmen1. The ferry had already gone (watched it from the bluff). TFTC
We are just off the Spirit of Tasmania and parked up along here to recharge our batteries both the Motorhome and ourselves. Once that was done and wed had a nice hot shower nearby we found this cache before heading off to our park up.Nice quick find here exactly where I would have hidden it. TFTC 2ystassies
This was a quick and easy find. The wind was blowing a gale so very uncomfortable doing it though. TFTC
Today I was going to Devonport to catch up to a mate and while I’m here, find a few caches.
This one was found while I was collecting information for a newly published multi.

Last time we tried to do this one there were cars waiting for the ferry at GZ so we didn't even stop.
Today it was earlier in the day and no one was around so we parked, found it and added our names to the log.

Out collecting a few more caches while in Devonport. We'll soon be leaving on the Spirit of Tasmania back to the Big Island. Thanks for the geo-fun.

Found this afternoon while filling in time waiting for the ferry. Many thanks for the cache.
Besides being directed by a local who lives over the road and has watched other cachers retrieve this we were unable to find it.
Found with The X-Trailers. Cache ok in hiding spot. A quick find in a logical place TFTC.
Trying to catch up on some very late logs. Sorry for the more generic logs.Stopped off here to make a quick find while staying in the area and enjoying the scenery and some good weather. Thanks 2y'stassies for placing the cache for us to find.
On our last afternoon in Tassie, we were staying nearby, so we came out to watch the ferry leave on it's overnight sailing. So yes, we cached while waiting.
With a few choices, DaD0n finally snafued the cache. Nicely done. TFTC

My first find in Tasmania . I have been to this awesome State before, but never as a cacher.
Thank you 2y'stassies for providing my first cache find on this hallowed ground.
Favourite point for my first .
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

Well rested from calm seas and a comfortable berth overnight on the ferry, catnap777 and I made our way here first thing to find our first cache together on the Apple Isle.
Thanks 2y'stassies for a nice easy parkngrab to open our Tassie accounts. [^]
Coincidentaly, GZ was also our last port of call at the end of our holiday as we enjoyed a good feed of fish and chips at the nearby picnic table as our last meal in paradise before reboarding the Spirit of Tasmania and heading for home.

We are starting to change our caches to Premium Only because we have become increasingly frustrated with some finders who
* have logged a find without signing the logbook
* not taken care by replacing the camo after finding a cache
* shifting the location of a cache to "an easier find"
These unthinking actions have resulted in a significant increase in maintenance, time we could better use for caching.
We had deliberately made our caches available to all who want to cache but as some are not showing respect, we are reluctantly changing many to Premium Only. We apologise to those responsible cachers who are not Premium Members but we have reached the tipping point.

We found it but the tub looked wet so we put it back! There was a lady and little boy also geocaching as they watched us get this one and put it back!
We had managed to tag along for a short holiday with muggle brother who had a couple of commitments in Tasmania, (from Vic) and after we also managed some time to explore, managed to add this smile as we headed back to the Ferry to return home and just had time for 2 more, but we do hope to be back soon to add more smiles, TFTC and the fun
Looked in the wron spot first. But easy to see when I looked in the right one...waiting for the ferry.
Took some assistance from my muggle partner to get it but beautiful view. TFTC
Extremely determined to find this one but after searching around in the newly cut grass for about ten min my hayfever started to kick in and i had to abort. Ill come back next time
Master mason has found his 4th one. Unfortunately his treasure (pikachu figure) was a little too big to swap with the one inside the container. Thankyou, this was a good one
These caches were a perfect time filler while waiting to board the Spirit of Tasmania we enjoyed a leisurely stroll enjoying the beautiful weather. We enjoyed the variety of hides and had to exercise quite a lot of stealth. Thank you for placing these caches 2y'stassies.
Spotted straight away but had to wait for some muggles to move before I could make my grab. Tftc
It was a ‘Duh!’ Moment for me, obvious in plain sight but it took awhile to find it. Good cords, cache in good order. Great location but windy enough to get blown to Melboune ... tftc.
Pulled up and sat myself down at the table knowing full well where the hide was likely to be but a Muggle pulled up at the same time and started to walk his dog, so i just waited it out for a bit then grabbed the booty.

Love this one! We also watched the construction over the river for a while... Gotta love big trucks! Hprw & kaaw
After a bit of searching we, and a few attempts at finding due to the high muggle area, we have finally been able to turn this cache into a smiley!
Hello, We found your cache on day #7 of our Lap year trip.
Selling up our hobby farm in South Gippsland and putting everything in storage we are now living on the road full time in our caravan and ‘doing a lap’.
Sorry for the generic log, time, data and reception are all factors in the decision to use a copy and paste log, we will always endeavour to leave a photo or two with each log and always leave a favourite point and unique comment(S) where applicable for the truly outstanding caches.
Earth, Virtual, letterbox handmade and Gadget caches are always at the top of the list for us to find.
Thank you for being one of the CO’s who supplied us with a cache to find today.
Cache in good condition.

I was about to look for this cache when someone parked right there. We went away, came back, and the car was still there. Repeat, but different outcome.
Found the cache after a short search

Quick find at the end our walk. Lovely to sit and look at the sun glistening on the river. Never get sick of this walk. TFTC.
Following some problems with some other caches, we were in the area today checking on this and other caches.
All is well here.
All is well here.
I spotted a likely spot as I approached but my GPS disagreed - and it was right. Quick find to end my walk around the Esplanade. Log a little damp but still usable. TFTC
Found on my second attempt. My phone gps on the last occasion had me in a different location but thankfully I can log it as found this time.
