Out caching with WA Geo Buddies iluvtrekking. After the overnight rain and a wet bed in our caravan thanks to a leaky window it was a slow start for FelixII. We caught up with iluvtrekking in time to tackle the Yabby trail. Well thank goodness we werent on our own for that! Before tackling a couple of other caches together then parting ways again for most of the afternoon.

Day five of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A grey but fine day today, but boy, that wind was cold!
Staying at Loxton, we cached the Wandering Heroes...Fishy Tales series, a small Crane2 series out of Moorook, a couple of AdLabs, and a selection of other odd caches on our path.

A few of this series we had to use our fishing techniques on.
Thanks, Robmc.

#18937. Day 5 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. High cloud with cold winds so our first day in Loxton we decided to use the geo-chariot and do some On Your Bikes, some Wandering Heroes - Fishy Tales, some Adlabs and other various caches along the way. So good to be back in the Riverland after way too long.

Another fun cache to find and we were impressed with the Mega Bison - very flash.

Thanks crane2

Today we made our way to Loxton for a few nights camping over Easter in the river land, with a late start to the day we didn’t stop by many caches.

We stopped by this one though, I’d been along this road before but didn’t stop here, was a quick stop today though and cache is all good

Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 16. The next phase of my journey is underway. I am in Loxton. I was with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 6 in the River land. As we had accomplished the On your Bike caches, the others headed back east to stop at Mildura for the paddle steamer caches, but I am based in Adelaide at the moment, so could not go. I spent the day out and about collecting caches in the region before heading to Lake Bonny and then Berri, finishing the day in Katarapko National park.

This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.

This was a bit of a job. The anchor had come off, so the first job was to capture the loop. after that, it was just a matter of jiggling and poking with a stick till it came out from under the lip. I am glad I a had a ladder to get a good angle and a torch to see the fishing line in amongst all the spiders webs..

Thanks for the cache crane2

Almost lost the fish here. It certainly put a fight and resisted being landed Another lovely day of caching in the splendid company of Phetlern Suscoe and Bushfire. We had an ambitious plan to find caches between Loxton and Waikerie before calling it a day to enjoy a relaxed if slightly late lunch at Banrock Station. The day concluded with a friendly BBQ where we were also able to catch up with crane2 who had provided us with so many caches around this area TFTC crane2

As I am getting older and running out of time, I have decided I will take off on my own to cache in different areas of our vast country as my NGW (Non Geocaching Wife) has no interest in caching.
I have been up to Loxton for five days of full on caching with suscoe, au.fait and Phetlern and still have so many caches to log.
Heading off in the opposite direction today with the crew and with still over 70 caches to log.
I am afraid that for the next few days my logs are going to be a lot of cutting and pasting but that does not take away the effort that the owners have put in to provide these caches for us to find so please accept my thanks. With close to 200 caches placed I know how much work is involved with not only placing them but the ongoing maintenance.

We struggled for a while but got there in the end. F.P.

Thanks, crane2 for placing this cache and all the others that we have found.

Heading westward toward Waikerie, in the great company of au.fait. Bushfire & Suscoe on Friday the 13th. Sounds ominous, it was splendid, interesting caches and lots of local history.

**FEEDBACK TO CO:** Like 4Moule 27/10/19 we wonder if this one is set up how it should be?

Our thanks to 'crane2' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Suscoe, Bushfire, Phetlern and au.fait were heading along this road this morning.
A quick find and sign.

Thanks to crane2 for this hide, it is always interesting to see how a cache can be hidden and this one took a little encouragement to emerge.
All good today.

Found with the kids and after A LOT of entertainment for us and the cows, a bit of creative equipment out the ute and much difficulty we managed to get it out. How glorious. Found what could be used as rods alongside but line was broken and detached from cache. It looks as though it has been repaired a few times. Another cache down as we collect caches to unlock the vault for the mystery of the museum. Tftc

After finding some Wandering Heroes with Goodlook yesterday we stayed at Loxton for the night to grab a few local caches before parting company.

Both teams enjoy these little mini series so they were definitely on our list especially on a road like this which is well graded and we saw no traffic for the entire time that we were on it making it a pleasure instead of a death defying feat.

We had a bit of a laugh when we saw the hiding method and the cache name made a lot more sense but unfortunately this one gave us some problems. Whilst we were fishing we caught a snag and were unable to reel in our catch. We went back to the car and got a piece of equipment which enabled us to shine a light on the problem and with a little bit of stretching and pushing and jiggling we managed to free the cache from it's captor and reeled in the prize catch of the day.

Thanks crane2 for placing these caches for us to find.

28-May-17
Man oh man, this one took us AGES as the cache was completely wedged/stuck in the tree hollow. Mark needed to get the ladder out in order to get the cache un-stuck. We did, and our names are now in the log book. We very carefully lowered it back into the tree so hopefully it will be easier for the next finder.

Thanks for the cache crane2! Smile

I had such a wonderful weekend with my good buddies, the lovely Team Crackers [:X] Smile [^] whilst caching from Karoonda to Waikerie over the 2 days.

We enjoyed the frivolity and fun that accompanied finding about 100 caches [:o)] [^]; lots of good food [^], heaps of laughter Big Grin, some crazy story telling over maybe a drink or two before bed Red FaceSurprisedWinkRazzCoolBig Grin[^]. We enjoyed one night in Loxton at the Big 4, and we couldn't believe how lucky we were with the mild and fairly sunny weather we experienced (given the torrential rain in Adelaide).

A totally unplanned and unexpected weekend, but this spontaneous 'hook-up' could not have been more perfect [^]

On our Easter Weekend break at KOM we decided to do a few (a lot for us) of caches to get to our 4000th this weekend. This will be our quickest 1000 so far, helped having 3 months off work last year.
We enjoyed your series of caches along this road. A nice variety of hides and we were grateful of the stick attachments as very wary of putting our hands in random hollows! TFTC Crane2

#6314 - 16:41; Day 3 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune. We are now headed from Mildura through the Riverland area to Barmera, collecting caches along the way. Completed the Fishy Tales series near Loxton and now heading on towards Barmera for the night. We had now reached Moorook and decided to collect a few caches along Gogel and Heinrich Roads rather than stick to the highway, including this one. Loved the hide and adding a favorite for the effort. TFTC crane2 Smile

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n. We headed through Hay, Mildura, and Loxton today and collected a good number of caches. All were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed.

Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

27-Mar-17
Arrived here in Moorook after our tedious drive from Loxton on our way to Alice Springs for the Event over Easter, if we ever get there at this rate. I had 2 caching sessions, one before and one after lunch. Both were great runs and I congratulate the COs on placing and maintaining the caches- a job well done.

Please excuse my generic logs as it is hard to remember the finer details when logging so many.
Loved the thought and creativity in the caches along this section of the road.

All logs were either signed or stamped in the morning run and as I forgot my stamp in the afternoon many were signed as SG as I often do to save space.

Today we were heading north along the Murray River for a while before continuing towards our Riverland destination. This series caught our eye so we decided to follow it. It was a fun series and did not present any problems. Thank you to crane2 for placing this cache. Something different is always interesting. Favourite point given.

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. However the shorter Mrs y'stassie had difficulty retrieving the cache, not wanting to have the attachment break off. Eventually the cache was extracted from its hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks crane2 for the cache.

After a few days away from home it was time to start heading back to reality again. We don't mind staying off the black-top and were surprised to find a little bling, so we left a little to return the favour. Stopping for caches made the drive more interesting. Thank you for the great views and history lessons learned.
