I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi hmckeeThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
A summertime trip to the South Island, what could be better. Day five, and having flown to Christchurch and then driven to Timaru on day one, and cached around Timaru on day two, and back up to Christchurch to see a band play on day three, and then up to Kaikoura to see the same band play again on day four, it was time to chill out and check out the town. Along the way I'll be looking for Geocaches, and here's one I found. That took some time. Log paper needs replacing, hopefully the next finder has some. --- Thanks to hmckee for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. spent about an hour looking with my cousin (were 16&17) and eventually gave up for the day so will have to come back next time!
3/4 Our whale tour was cancelled, so we did the "Kaikoura cache tour" Needs maintanance, was full of water. I cleaned it but unfortunately didn't have any new plastic bag. TFTC
Not stumped here thank goodness. The container is rather munted but it still works. TFTH
There were lots of possibilities, but with a little perseverance I found it’s hiding place. The sun is rising and it’s looking a picture back over towards the beach. TFTC
A good range of possibilities. Cache soon found however. The log is full and needs attention. TFTC
Quick find on an early morning walk while staying with friends in the area (log full); tftc
Certainly wandered all over the show this morning with a lot of roads being closed for resealing and three of the caches we want being on those roads. Anyway, made our way to this one for a nice easy find. tftc
Nice to be off the main road. A nice calm spot with lots to look at and appreciate. TFTC.
Last cache for Mrs SoBad while she was out buying petrol before checking out of our accommodation. The cache was squashed but the log was fine.
Thanks.
Thanks.
LEST WE FORGET..

Very windy here, I struggled to hold on to the various cache bits while signing the log. TFTC
Found with Kiwimykl while caching in Kaikoura, refer to his log for details.

Found with NZDi. We had a long weekend booked for last weekend, but Mrs Kiwimykl (aka NZDi) didn't feel that flash so we postponed it until this weekend. So Friday morning we packed the caravan (including MTBs) and headed south arriving at the campground about 10.45am. After spending yesterday doing the Kawhai Cycle Trail, a few caches south of town and a few around town, todays effort is to the Mt Fyffe Forest Walk and then drive around the area to see how many roadside park and grabs we can get.
Over the two days caching we manage to find 44 caches with only two DNFs, although we did manage to avenge three DNFs from a previous visit. Of the 44 finds, bumandworker was responsible for hiding 28 of them. Our logs were generally dated and signed with Kiwimykl and NZDi or KM + ND, or variations there of.
We spent most of this morning in town trying to find the images for the Kaikoura Town Walk puzzle cache with a negative result. More about that later. That took a big bite out of our caching day for no result, so we decided to cut our loses and head to the Mt Fyffe Forest Walk. Having finished that we then started to pick off a few park and grabs around the district.
Having got a couple of caches to the north of Kaikoura it was well past lunch time, so we headed back to town for a bite to eat and to regather our thoughts. Our thoughts worked out the Kaikoura Town Walk puzzle and so that was our first target after lunch. After that we decided to head out to this cache then pick up any unfound caches on the way back to town.
Having almost cleared out the area between town and the peninsula, we now headed out to the backroads to the west of Kaikoura. Having just got another cache by this CO, we made a QEF PnG at this one.

Found during a pleasant evening drive around here. Using my gps and noticing a geotrail I walked straight to the correct stump - phew! Thanks hmckee.
Family holiday time...a couple nights Kaikoura, a couple Picton & finish off in Nelson.....
Bikes on board and heading out for a trail ride. Stopped by - thankfully not stumped at all; Mr11 made the find then having climbed a stump a 'tumble-come-commando-role' got him back down....funny chap....LOL

Who knew this road was so busy at 9pm! Found it after some hiding in the grass lol
Lots of stumps and lots of places to hide a cache. Found in the second one we looked at
Almost forgot to log this one! I remember a previous visit in rain and getting completely soaked and wet. This time the grass was dry and i got there through a systematic approach. TFTC!!
Been looking for this one for awhile and always seem to stuff it up but success! Today with the help of junior found reasonably quickly!
Spending our last two nights at Kaikoura before heading home so we braved the weather to go for a loop walk and pick up a couple more caches to complete our geocaching. TFTC.
We know its here, looked in the rain but didn't want wet shoes to Auckland. Sad face.
DNF but only coz we were getting too wet to keep searching. We know it will be here in one the stumps.
Had family from Holland that wanted to do whale watch. So a day trip from Christchurch. We dropped them of and went GC. This was on our list but oh boy which one. Gave up on co ords and did each as read previous blogs how far out. Very happy to find the right one. Thanks for the cache hmckee.
Its earth Cache weekend so Im off to Kaikoura to visit the Museum today. Had a great 2 hours there but still early. So time to mop up a few other caches in the area.
Was duly muggles by heaps of curious bovines here. Replaced manky log with RITR paper to keep this one rolling along. Cheers

Tricky one to find because the coordinates are off by 13 metres. the Columbus creatures got very feet!
What a mission! After failing at gz we read the logs. Discovered that coords are out. Moved 10m SE and it was a quick find. Thanks for the hide. #3502
Well, this was one of the last to find on a VERY busy day caching with Jude_E. We would not have found it without reading previous logs. The co-ords are at least 10metres out towards the South/E. TFTC and the cool long grasses!! . Poor Jude got a good zap from the fence, how sympathetic I was!! Giggle
Heading north on our first grand family road trip. The plan was to head north to Auckland and then tiki tour our way back to Christchurch. Back on the Mainland and we headed to Nelson to visit friends for a few nights. We were now in Kaikoura for our last place before heading home.
Today's mission was to find snow up Mt. Fyffe! We didn't make it to the snow but we did make it to the hut. It was a 920m ascent and it was fantastic. My four year old cachelet made it! On the way down he started complaining about sore feet and when I took off his socks and shoes we found that he'd been walking with sand from the beach all day and his toes were all blistered up! I ended up carring him on my shoulders for 3km or so back down the 'hill'. We did it in 5.5 hours and it was 12.8km or so. Stopped by here on the way to the super market for supplies. Took a bit to find. Glad for the previous logs. Farmer checked on us to see if were okay. Converted a family that was with us to take up the game.
Thanks for the cache hmckee.

Our first day ever of geocaching - our third find of the day, driving home after climbing up to Mt Fyffe Hut.
#15345. Searched for some time with no joy. Then we read about the coords being out by about 15m. Tried 15m north (no luck) and then 15m south (the cache was above GL and easy to spot - yay!). TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker as we head home from Blenheim to Christchurch after an enjoyable long weekend.
We should have read the logs about the co-ords being out before we started looking as we were running out of stumps to search before finding the cache. TFTC.

Couldn't find at GZ so read previous logs and saw a comment that coords were 15 metres out so moved that far along, the grass was a little trampled here so it looked a likely spot but nothing so tried 15 metres in the opposite direction, no flattened grass but there was a cache. Thanks for placing hmckee

Jumpy GPS and lots of possibilities ... tried for ten mins before moving to the next
Day 2 of this Kaikoura Geocache Raid. Was returning to the camp ground for lunch so I made a stop and search in among shoulder high grass to find the stump. Once close I noted that there were, in fact, many stumps lying hidden. The ones immediate to GZ all proved not to host the cache. So I read the logs and noted that a previous finder had mentioned is GZ was 13m different. So ..... of course I tried the wrong side of published first before trying the other side . Thanks High School PE class for the cache.
Kaikoura
What an experience it has been caching in Kaikoura, every way you turned it was either mountain or sea scenery. We learnt so much abour the earthquake you had here last year,

While doing Streak Week I realised there are a few caches around KK that I haven't logged from my last streak here. I remember being worried when I pulled up to GZ because I felt pretty exposed with my branded ute. I thought it might take a while to find the cache, especially since it was soggy at the time. The nearby cows were getting curious too. Luckily I found the cache immediately. Huh, that was an unexpectedly fast find. Tftc.
Finally found one this morning, Log was a bit damp and my gps had me 13m from the pubished GZ. Cheers
A weekend away in Kaikoura, it's been a while, and it has changed a wee bit since last November.
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.
