Out and about with Flowerydaze and a visitor from Texas USA spending the day in the Wairarapa on the "cache hunt". Quick find by monk3ybash3r, TFTC old rabbit
Found in the company of Talla64 and monk3ybash3r on an enjoyable drive round the countryside. Thanks for the placement old rabbit.
Another hint that was accurate. Great day for chasing caches. Needs some maintenance TFTC
Nice hide but container completely ruined, log saturated, and spiders all through it. Will need a replace.
The lid is mounted and the log is saturated, sadly could not log our find. Plenty of swaps inside
Still raining

A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north". Today we drove from Masterton to Wellington to catch an early morning ferry. The weather got wetter the closer that we got to Wellington.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Quick find. Good spot. Log is running out of space to sign so might need renewing.
We failed to find this cache in 2018, when it was missing, and the grass was much shorter! Today we made our way through the long grass, and found the badly damaged container (see photo) as described by previous finders, The logbook was soaking, so we added a small waterproof log sheet. TFTC
I was not particularly comfortable finding a cache here. There is a house quite close which luckily had no people outside. I don't know what the previous maintenance request is all about because the cache I found was in perfectly good condition. My memory of the day is a bit fuzzy already but maybe this was the one with the completely blank log with no ident? That might line up with maintenance having been performed but not logged. Whatevs. TFTC.
On the way back to the car I heard what sounded like a dyno test of a turbocharged car coming from the nearby house Who has their own dyno?! Great sound though.

With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south. We’re relocating down the road today. So our base camp shifts to Carterton for the night…
The cache lid is broken and allowing water to get in. We rescued a TB from here but it wasn’t logged into this cache. Thanks old rabbit and TFTC.

Day 1 Cache 38 of my mad mission to the Wairarapa for the 100-10-7 Challenge and still going strong. Wet and rainy day today but cachers must carry on. The lovely Ethness has joined me as driver for the day. Having visited Greytown and Martinborough we (aka my driver) decided we needed to get to 40 so off to work we go, despite the impending dusk and cold . TFTC old rabbit. Thankful for my gumboots through the long wet grass. TFTC old rabbit.
I went for a quick drive around today to pick up a few geocaches that I had left in town and just outside of town that I hadn't found yet. TFTC to all the geocache owners, it was fun to find all of these.
It's Valentine's Day today.
What should a good Husband do?
* Spend it with his @WonderfulWifey?
* Or go away on a 'date' with two of her three other 'Husbands'?
The date won out (sorry darling!) and BoardGamesHusband, StaycationHusband, and RealHusband convened for an assault on archived Skindo caches in the Wairarapa (plus a couple of PWGT and other randoms thrown in for good measure - like this one!).
To try to claw back some W.A.F. points, we did take SkyCraneKid (FKA. EtherMaster) along for the trip. Not sure if it was sufficient though...?
> log signed as TECatS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid)

Teamed up with Etherlord and Ether Master from the Etherlord Clan and TwigNZ, for a raid in Skindo land. We arranged to meet in Masterton, swapped into one car and headed south. The aim was to get the 5 PWGTs south of here, and to collect Skindo's achived caches, especially puzzles, along the way. although we did get a few others as we were "just passing".
But time conspired against us. Or maybe it was skindo himself, as we only got 50 caches, and only as far south as Greytown. We have made a tentative plan to be back in a couple of months to to come back and work this area again.
All logs signed as TECATS - TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid.
Grabbed a wooden coin, dropped in a path tag

Having been over here in the Wairarapa only a few weeks ago, I wasn't expecting to be here again so soon. But the chance to have a whole day out caching with friends was too good to miss. Between us we hatched a plan to get as many archived Skindo caches as we could, and any others we were going to be driving right past. My main roles today were as driver and searcher, whilst happily leaving the navigation to the others who were able to use their GPSRs and programs other than the official app to see the caches I couldn't.
My apologies for the generic logging, but anything notable will be commented upon. For convenience all logsheets today were signed TECATS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Cland and The Seagnoid) regardless of whether any 1 of us may have already have found a cache on a previous trip.
This Trad was a simple Park n Grab. A nice quick find at GZ, and finding no issues with this one the log was quickly signed and the whole thing was replaced as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

A little detour on our way to Greytown for the night. Thanks old rabbit for the cache.
Stopped here and walked over to the GZ. Yippee a container big enough for a couple of TBs, so back to the car to get them, TFTC + 2TBs
After a long period of lockdown and travel restrictions we are now able to travel between regions. I took this opportunity today to come back over the hill for a return visit to boost my find count for May so that I can finally sign off the now archived 250 finds in every month series. This was helped by completing the Masterton Adventure Lab for an easy ten finds (plus the bonus). In that regard I was successful, with only a couple of DNFs on a couple of archived caches worth recording.
I was a bit wary of the house nearby as it was very exposed here, but got the cache quickly. TFTC

7992. Iris and Raewyn were crafting today so I went off geocaching alone. Found fifteen altogether. This was number three and yet another very easy one. Thanks. Rodney.
After a few tricky situations (wheels in mud-wise) I was a bit worried about parking closely to this cache. I finally gave in and parked on the correct side of the road and enjoyed the views while I signed the log. I was happy to find our favourite Mar1sa swag, so left some child-friendly trade items.
Thank you for the cache, in its new fancy container!

As per recent logs, it doesn’t appear to be located near or under one of the two hint objects. Not sure where else it might be, if in fact it’s still there at all. No option then but to log this as a DNF.
Visited family in the Wairarapa today. The kids were quite keen to go for another geocahce hunt in the afternoon. Took us just over an hour to get ten park n grab caches in the Dalefield area, with the kids doing most of the finding.

#4177. I needed some June caches for a challenge series I am working on so headed over the hill today after a wet Saturday. Infoferret decided to join me on the trip so good to have some company for the cache raid. Most log books were OK but any that were damp, sodden or turning to confetti we replaced with fresh log sheets. Easy as find here. Signed the log book and replaced the cache as found. After pushing through the long wet grass here decided it was time to don the gumboots. Thanks for the cache old rabbit.
Out for the afternoon finding a few caches around the Carterton/Greytown area.

08:16. Cruising the back roads collecting caches, many thanks for a quick find !
An easy find made more difficult by a choice of TWO hint objects and I picked the wrong one. Some things we poor cachers just can't handle

Been a difficult day with gizmo being a pain, and me wondering if I need to go to specsavers again. Sure its the movement of the little yellow wagon, still--we did it, again thanks to Sunju;s patience
Our first grandchild was born on Friday 10th Feb and today I had to let other family have their turn at visiting so to fill the void lol I decided to pick up CNAH and go get some recently solved caches in the Wairarapa. Hubby (Grandad lol) had gone to Manfield racing. I have also been working on Skindo's 2 by 2 series so wanted a few of them. We left at 9.30am and got home at 8pm. Not an entirely successful day. Lost signal in Carterton which spoilt things and it was windy and so when we had gps it was jumping everywhere and would do nothing then jump and we would be past the cache. It was lovely spending the day with Mum and we enjoyed getting what we did. On the bright side we get to go back again soon to pick up more of what we missed this time.

After spending most of my Christmas break in the diy, it was time to dedicate a full day to caching. The weather was looking prefect for a trip to greytown so I headed off bright and early to try and collect as many as I could.
Decided to head to the back rounds between greytown and Carterton for the afternoon. This one slightly further away from the road so made my way through the long grass. Found the cache then sneezed my way back tot the car. TFTC

Out and about on our bikes today, a great day for it. Needed to find a few more to get our August stats up to 250 finds. TFTC
DETERMINED to find this today (thankfully straight forward!) just because we thought we'd completed the Work Route, but apparently missed this one some how! Found today with maiz.man. TFTC Old Rabbit
An icy walk in the grass to this one. No animals in these paddocks today. TFTC
This trip through the back of Carterton was an interesting drive and I can understand why you choose to use this route to cycle to work- far my relaxed and safer than going through the narrow main st. with all the traffic. I have visited this Paua 'place several times over the years and it is always interesting to see.
I have usually driven through Carterton and never explored the area behind the main st so this gave me a good excuse to detour here in between visiting schools in the area. All the caches were in good order.
Thank you for the caches and some more smiley faces.

Heading southward, to home. Not to work!
Once we arrived at GZ a straightforward find.
Cache in order; log signed, cache then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Just when I thought this was a scenic route things got a bit more off road. TFTC #8395
Sorry for the late log and the copy and paste, headed down to do some caching (while hubby played paintball) knowing the weather was going to be lovely, it was lovely it was really hot, we managed to get a few before heading home again, the sunburn wasn't over the top only forgetting not to put it on late arvo. Thanks for taking the time to place the cache.
Quickly found after walking through some very long grass. Nice views of the ranges here. Tftc.
#298 another day of caching the wairarapa with zz6000 but at a slower pace today.
Thanks for all the caches, found with LCBuilder while staying in the Wairarapa.
I also cycle to work, but unfortunately my cycleroute isn't quite as scenic as this. TFTC old rabbit, #8237
Plenty of parking no matter what you are driving. Cache all good.
Final count today is 43. Wb-jnr and I headed off on a half day to the Wairarapa after doing some chores around home. We ended up being just under nine hours cache to cache, however escaped trouble when we got home by stopping for a bottle of wine. I was cautioned that it worked this time but not to expect it to work every time
We had a great day and loved the significant differences between this and some of our recent full day caching adventures whilst in Ireland earlier this month. We always enjoy local caching with the following (which have been contrary to some of our Ireland experiences):
- Almost all of the caches we attempted were actually there! Couldn't believe how many in Ireland needed maintenance or at the very least checking. Some days we planned on getting 40 which should have been easy, however came home with only half as many smilies. I think the best day was 24!
- The co-ords are pretty accurate. If you get to Ireland, expect some of the coords to be 20m out - frequently.
- On a couple of caches here I found some prickly stuff. The amount of caches in Ireland where you wish you had leather gloves and sleeves was incredible. Not to mention even a gentle brush against the nettle causes a stinging sensation for a couple of hours - just in time for another brush
All in all, a really lovely day caching back near home. Beautiful weather and a great day of caching company with my son. Thanks to all the cache owners

This was a quick find to end my caching activities for the day. I will have to return another day to find the other caches in this series.
I was up this way for Work today, took advantage of a nice afternoon to squeeze in a bit of caching as well. TFTC
A few muggle cars going past, so had to employ the usual ploys to avoid looking too obvious - "man break", cell phone etc.
Left a pet rock - a gopher. TFTC old rabbit

#6690. Nice Saturday drive to Mannings Road for a park and grab. GZ was all quiet at the time of visit. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.
A little walk to the cache -thankfully it was a fine day in the Wairarapa. Good views of the Tararuas with the back hills covered in snow. TFTC.
Nice quick find on a miserable-weather day in the 'Rapa.
