Out in the endless rain to find a geocache or two to progress my 6th loop of the calendar. Easy find. All good here. TFTC
Out with the dog, and a phone gps that would not cooperate. But the track map was good enough for a find.TFTC
When looking for it I went a bit to far down before realising that it was a bit further up
After looking the wrong place etherfather pointed [@sammyboi4512](https://coord.info/PR1Q8KV9) and I in the correct direction.
Did a loop walk in this area this morning with the geohound and some muggle friends. Picked up four caches along the way, found more often than not by our muggle friends who seemed to enjoy the opportunity to do so! This one was found after a short search, again by one of our muggle friends. #7557. TFTC.
Mr Tom has taken me out caching this morning, but his geonose is obviously a bit snuffly because he's all over the place with this one.We got there in the end!
It's a long weekend and I never spend a long weekend at home, so I headed up to Etherlord's to make a proper start on the shield series, something I had been meaning to do for a long time now.But that is tomorrow. Today Ethermiss came out to join me for an early morning geocaching trip through Poutoa Reserve. Which reminds me - What is the name of this hill? I used to know it, it was on the engineering shop on the top of the hill, on Summerhill Drive. No, the hill is not called Summer Hill. I don't think it is Poutoa Hill either. Dammit. Oh well.So it is a grey morning and we arrive... there's no cache here! Check the hint - ah - wrong elevation. There's no cache here! Oh look - there is more than one "here" - here is over there! And there is a cache there!
Took me ages but i found it.Turns out i dont know what a totara tree looks like lol
Checked that all is well with this new placement, and yes it is hanging ready to be found!
I tried a few places, but no cache found.(I didn't have the updated co-ords though)
Coordinates changed from:S 40 22.804 E 175 37.797Coordinates changed to:S 40 22.808 E 175 37.786Distance from original: 56.5 feet or 17.2 meters. The previous location has not been very satisfactory. Moved to a new location close by which should be more straight forward to find.
Can tell where all attempts have been made for this one and my phone GPS had me about 10m away from where I found it so had to rely on the old senses. Tftc
This one fooled us a wee bit, with the hint sending us all over the place....luckily we had many eyes searching and by extending the search area we finally made the find.....Day 2 of our caching trip to Palmerston North area with HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, Keylev, and myself, signing in as SEAC or TEAM SEAC to save logbook space. A big thanks to all the CO's for cache placement and maintenance, making this trip the success that it was.TFTC.
Here the hint appeared to point us in one direction while the GPS pointed in another. With many eyes, using geosense and extending our search area we had the cache in hand after a search of several minutes.A small group of us from Team SEAC consisting of Keylev, Stik-A-Crane, Uncle Sam and ourselves had come down from Auckland to spend the long weekend caching in the Manawatu area. The plan was to get as many as possible. Along the way we had some great adventures, many laughs, met some interesting people and found a wide selection of caches. Signed SEAC to save space on the log. TFTC.
Day #2 of the Team SEAC extra long weekend little road trip for Labour Weekend. The hint confused us on this one as the direction would have put us away from where the GPS was saying GZ was roughly pointing. We were not sure which were the 'main stairs' either as there was lots of stairs. We expanded the search area and Mr Stik-a-Crane soon had the cache in hand. From the direction we came we crossed the bridge and went up a few more stairs and found the cache on the left hand side. Thanks for the cache.
Right side going down before crossing and going back up.Small group of caching buddies drove down from Auckland for the long weekend, and headed for Palmerston North area. Sorry for the generic posts, but we had so many caches to find.Had a great time, with so many laughs. Thanks to all the Cache owners who placed the caches. All logs signed "SEAC" or "Team Seac"
After finding another close by cache we decided to grab this one as well. Having climbed up from the gully across the road, to see the steep beginning of the track to this cache we needed a rest lol. 13thBattleAxe headed off to get a head start on the hunt. He was still hunting by the time the rest of us arrived at the gz. A couple of minutes and a few pairs of eyes searching and we had the cache in hand. Log signed for TeKainga, TPK, SuaineAlien, 13thBattleAxe and self. Tftc. Now for the long climb back
Down here for the sprint car racing.
Managing to get these three caches before the race meeting.

The previous hide location has not been very satisfactory, requiring quite a hunt for some. Hope this will give more pleasure.

The coordinates led us 10metres off. Bit there wasn't to many cabbage trees so we just checked them all
Checked this one out and it is in place according to the hint. My phone had 4m at GZ.
We didn't find it, We didn't have very good footwear on. We think the coordinates were very good either. We also got snapped out by a muggle, He wanted to know what we were doing in the Bush...
Lol. Thank for the cache.

Looked in the wrong place initially, found it just as I sat down to regroup!

Wandered around a little before spotting a likely suspect. Lid rather hard to get off! Log all present and intact still. TFTC
Well yesterday was the winter solstice and now the days are getting longer. That means more time to cache. Well daylight today was apparently 1 sec longer then yesterday so had to make the most of it. Completed the nearby lab adventure and then collected this traditional. Took a few minutes to locate as the hint item didn’t seem as unique as I thought. Once found all fine. Finished just as the sun was going down and it looked like the whole of Palmy was on fire. Thanks for the smiley.
Wandered around for a little while looking for the hint item and spotting the container. A pleasant walk along part of this track system. Tftc
Typical oldie. Planned an afternoon tramping and geocaching. Completely forgot about pen. Have taken a photo to verify.
Great spot! Enjoyed the hunt. Looked at a few spots but young was the key. Noticed man made trail and followed it. Thanks for the cache!
There always seems to be several places that fit the hint, so I looked in the wrong place before I noticed something that told me where the right place was. TFTC.
#1046. Today is day 70 of walking the Te Araroa trail and this is the 44th cache I found along the way. This cache is slightly off the trail but I took a small detour on the way into the Palmerston North CBD.
Once I worked out the right way to walk I found the cache shortly after. It's hard not to leave a pathway in such long grass... but people won't even notice.
Thanks for the cache! [Here's a link to my blog entry for the day](http://teararoa.g2.co.nz/2019/12/04/day-70-palmerston-north-north-to-palmerston-north-south/) if anyone is interested!

Founds, hard to see as it was small but algoods. Friends thought it's was drugs at first haha
Good hide! Hardest part was trying to retrieve it down the slippery path in the rain!
From the nearby Summerhill Gully Reserve cache I made my way on foot to this cache. I thought about halfway to this cache that I might've been on the wrong side of the gully as the gps was pointing more towards the centre of the gully. I continued to walk to 'see where this path leads me' and I was very glad to see a path turn off that took me towards the cache. No problems with the clever hide.

As I was heading this way (sort of) I couldn't ignore this one. Loads of plausible hint objects, but I eventually found the right one, TFTC. An amazing sunset as I walked back to my motel in the center of town
Found today with the help of TwigNZ while up in Palmy for the GIFF event, TFTC
It's the morning of the GIFF event that the lad and I are attending, being yet another excuse to spend some quality time with some of our favourite North Palmerstonians. So seeing that today was also a dot day for us, it seemed like another good excuse to grab a cache or two before making our way to the event itself.
I had driven through this part of Palmy last week, but had only had time for a few caches then, so wondered if I might be able to find a few more today? The weather was playing ball so a group of 5 of us hit the road to find out.
Having parked up in a nearby sideroad, we strolled down the wetlands pathway, before heading off the path a little to locate this hide. It was effectively a quick(ish) park and grab. The container was found, and all was fine with the contents. The logbook was duly signed and all replaced as found before continuing on our way
As always, Geocaching has brought us to a location I had never been to before, or even knew about, so thanks for the impetus, and the cache.

Down in Palmy staying with a friend for a few days and we went for a walk along these tracks this afternoon and picked up some smileys. Great spot off the track here, TFTC
Great find on our walk with our young boys. Unfortunately forgot to bring a pen to sign off
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will help me get closer to my goal
It has been a few months since Scoria and myself have teamed up to a spot of Geocaching
We come here to Plamy so Scoria could place in a new multi cache
Scoria had already found this cache a while back so finding it was easy
Thanks for the cache

We wandered around for a bit before finding the right tree, hidden in its own clearing. Great wee hide. TFTC
Checked this one. Pleased to find the contents dry with no ants, worms, earwigs etc Replaced the logbook. Ready for more visitors.
Pranced over grass for quick find. No ants… just worms, earwigs, and mini worms. Nice hide, cheers edvern!
Found on family walk. Clear directions and inventive hide! The ants obviously thought it was a good home too. No problem signing waterproof log. TFTC!
