Heading to the beach and detouring for a few caches I had missed on previous excursions, often due to farmers outstanding in their field. Thanks for adopting and rejuvenating this kamemoro cache tmann421
No 2 on my quest today for the challenge I'm trying to complete. What a nice alternative road that keeps traffic off SH1 and the idiots that drive it.
Mission is to work through these lonely caches on the KAS trail and show them some love. Its been 505days since this was last foundAlso my first power series, although doing it after work in the dark meant I could only knock off a few. Cache in good nick - hi King Kong! Mihi ki a koe, woolwood9, mo te keteroki #310
Visited with woolwood9 today.
All containers replaced and waterproof logsheets at every cache.

The current challenge for the wheel of challenges is to find 100 caches during the month of April. So today I am out with TrinityNZ and JustlookingOO to get as many smileys as possible. (All logs signed today as JLT).
Thanks for the cache, and another smiley.

Out and about with LL113 and TrinityNZ to ensure we all earned the Wheel of Challenges souvenir for finding 100 caches in April.

Out and about on this lovely ANZAC Day north of Foxton way with JustlookingOO and LL113, tracking down 100 caches this month for the 100 smileys in April challenge. The KAS trail is a great way to quickly find a lot of caches. This was our 19th find of this series today. Found not quite as expected, but not too hard. Log signed as JLT for JustlookingOO, LL113 and TrinityNZ. Thanks to the cache owners for placing these caches.
Today’s mission is to try and push ourselves over one hundred caches for the month, and fifty for the day. Targeting the KAS trail (plus whatever others we need depending on how many we find). In the end we managed 50 finds and 10 DNF’s - hard work!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Grabbing some of these series today. This one took a little bit of a hunt before we finally had the cache in hand. Tftc
Our last found cache. The previous 2 were not seen with the naked eye. Perhaps the frog has disappeared up the cabbage tree with said caches? Lots of mysterious happenings. We decided to take the long out-of-the way route to Juniors home. Thanks for this series.
Another wet soggy log and bag - replaced with dry log and new bag! This series needs maintenance!
Today started out innocently enough, I was to make my way from Wanganui back home to Wellington. Because it's a long weekend I was in less of a rush than usual as we had another day off tomorrow (Labour Day) so I decided to find a few geocaches along the way, and then a few more, and a few more, and before the day was out I had logged 60 of them (that's a pretty good day for me). This was one of the geocaches that I found:
A big part of my numbers today was doing this KAS power trail series. Cache was found as described without any trouble. Log paper here is getting quite frail.
Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this geocache.
I enjoy every cache I find, and it is only with CO's placing them that this wonderful game continues.

We were in PN this afternoon running some errands, I’ve been wanting to hit some of these power trails after doing the one along the Weta Motel road.
Lots of houses along this road and lots of homeowners watching on as we stopped very few hundred metres!

Looking for 50 finds today for a challenge.
Looks like a good series to do it before it gets too hot.
This is number 7.

After finding this cache I clicked as to the naming of these caches! The day is overcast and a bit drizzly so far and the wind is cold. Glad I have on my wet weather gear and brought some gloves to cut the cold. Thanks for the hide kaŝmemoro!
Heading down to Foxton Beach for a couple of days and had spare time to cache. Have wanted to return and complete more of this series. Parked up the camper van and got the bike out. Not sure it was sure a good idea as it was blowing a gale. Still it was great on the cycle back when the wind was behind me. Got another 12 of the series with 1 DNF. This was one I previously couldn’t find probably because I only concentrated on the title. Happy to turn that sad face into a smiley today.
We have wanted to do this trail for sooooooo long, but life got in the way. Finally, we decided it was now or never. Got a late start after travelling from Wangas..started about 11am...made one mad dash back to Rongotea for Mrs RRR to pee (she can't think when she has to pee LOL) and one around 3pm for another bathroom break, and snaffle some foodles, and make use of better network coverage. We tried to follow a logical course but had already done some previously so had to zig-zag a couple of times but thankfully not far. Had 10 to go in the last block, and just went all out. Finished with a DNF on the very last one, around 8.45pm...headed off to do one more on the way home, and then head for the hills for a feed and feet up. All-in-all a good day, made better by the box of sandwiches and goodies and thermos in the boot. Many thanks for this trail - we're very happy to see many more smiley faces on it. Logs signed with RachelsRiffRaff or RRR. Thanks for the series.
Headed out for an afternoon/evening of caching. Started off in the light but by the end it was dark. The full moon was beautiful but not particularly helpful but with a good torch many of these caches were still able to be found. Having said that I had 10 DNF most of which have not been found this year. Many of the logs had replacement logs with the old damp log stuffed to the bottom. A bit of TLC would not go amiss! Thanks for the series.
Taking the opportunity on this lovely day to explore some of the caches around the Manawatu that I never got around to grabbing when I lived here!
Twenty third find for the day - barely a tree here anymore, but the beetle still is! A nice easy one, TFTC!

on a mission 50 caches in one day, getting to 1000 caches and getting to the oldest cache in NZ, cache 1002, cache number 35 of trip. nice park and grab TFTC
This is day nine of a ten day trip down to Dunedin and back to move my daughter there so she can get her master’s degree at Otago University. I spent the morning around Himatangi doing a series of caches, and then headed up to Turangi. I was going to stay a second night, but the weather was closing in.
I saw this series on my way back from the WENZ 2018 Mega last year and thought I have to do these one day.
After spending the night at the holiday park at Himatangi, the rain had stopped long enough for me to continue where I left off the evening before. TFTC.

Today was a numbers run for us. Lots of caches to choose from in this area so we did all but 2 of the KAS series, the mint tin series and some railway ones. 98 caches found in total and 2 DNF's something tells me we are going to have to go out again to find 2 more today. Many thanks to all the CO's of the caches we visited today, hugely appreciated and certainly love the quiet roads after Auckland.
Day #1 of our four day caching trip to Palmerston North. As it's the first time back in several years, there are heaps of new caches to find
After attending this mornings event, and checking into our accommodation, we decided to head out west to the cache dense area of various trails. This afternoon it was all about the numbers. TFTC.

My second to last day on the north island and rain was coming so I decided to hit the trail to see if I could get a quick 50 or so. Loved the series, a few had full or wet logs, I had stash of presigned replacement logs in my pocket so replaced as necessary. Thanks for the trail kaŝmemoro

One of 65 caches located in this neck of the woods today, a personal best which is never likely to be repeated! Biked along these roads from mid-morning to late afternoon, making a real day of it. Thanks to the cache owners for putting all these hides in place.

Today we’re in Manawatu and Horowhenua area, with some time dedicated to the KAS Series
Found caches have typically been signed MM78, although a few have been stamped mrandmrschosen1978.
Apologies for generic logs but with so many... condition of caches varied with good dry logs to wet/damp logs, we added some rite’n’rain slips to some as required
Thanks for this series, we appreciate the time and effort made in creating this series •

Up for the Mega for the week, headed up the coast for a couple of days on family stuff, but did get few caches in for the day. many thanks to the cache placer's - Bitsprayer
It’s Day 1 of our 2018 WENZ MEGA crusade and Team BOP are well represented by McJandals, NZFlossy, TNXPro, Davidson Clan, FapAndGap & Squirrel nutcase and myself.
We have a huge hit list for this 5 day affair so it's gonna be a little manic. We’ve signed our logs either individually or as ‘Team BOP’ depending on log space, size or condition. A special thanks to all the CO’s and those who have helped keep these caches in good order.
Cache found quickly thanks to accurate co-ords and a straight forward placement. A neat series and theme but most of the log sheets need replacing and are good examples of my we should be using waterproof paper. TFTC.

With my intended route planned I’ve taken a day off work to grab as many as possible of the KAS animal trail before the weather breaks tomorrow. This is the only power trail I ever intend doing - just for the numbers - 100 caches needed for the Hidden Creatures souvenir hunt in just a month. Thanks for placing these.
This was number 35 found today, for which I earned the next Hidden Creatures souvenir, the Yeti.

Sooo... it was 4 o clock in the morning, and I decided to get up and go for a drive to collect as many caches as possible before breakfast? Why? Cause I was down for work, and that was when I had to meet up with everyone.
Started at the southern end, so I could feel like I was working my way back to Palmy and my morning Hot Chocolate. It always amazes me - the amount of effort that goes into making a trail. Thanks!

My son and I have been trying to get around to doing the KAS trail for quite some time now, ever since we finished getting through the nearby Chewy Mint trail.
The Planetary Pursuits event currently running, and an available free day with my son over the Easter weekend, seemed like the perfect excuse to finally hit it!
So I planned a route that also took into account some other nearby caches, such as this one, making a grand total of 84 caches to be attempted today, curious to know if we could absolutely blast our previous record (40) for the number of finds for a day. As it turned out, we had just 5 DNF's, so it was a tremendous result that propelled us almost all the way to Pluto in 1 day! I now have a very tired, but happy lad.
I apologise for the generic 'cut n paste' style of my log, but with 79 to do tonight I figured it was the only way.
This was a straightforward find. The cache and logbook are fine.
The log was signed as "T & T" to cover myself and my lad ThatWeirdGuy04.
Having just had my first placement muggled a couple of weeks ago, I am very much in appreciation of all CO's who place and maintain caches for the rest of us to find.

Was out with my father in law Popmac who provided transport so I could clear out this series and I quickly made the find. Thanks for the cache. Knocked off the series in just under three hours.
This cache was attempted as part of the Palmerston North Power Leg of our "Road to 6,000" Extravaganza for 2016.

Apologies for the generic log — Team B&D are up from Wellington to do the 142 caches in 24 hours challenge. TFTC and a great set of power trails up here!
In Palmerston North for the weekend with some caching buddies- Uncle Sam, NZTravellers, Stik-a-crane. The goal was to find as many of the local caches that we could in the space of a day. We managed to find 206, I think, in the space of 14 hours, with a few bathroom/ coffee breaks and a couple of meal breaks. We all had a blast jumping in and out of the car, racing each other to the caches, and laughing and joking along the way, and in general had an awesome weekend down here.
We really enjoyed this trail, and I particularly thought the guardians of the cache containers were pretty cool!
Apologies for the generic logs.... with over 200 caches found in one day, it was virtually impossible to remember each individual cache!
Log signed as Team SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) in order to save log space.

Our team from Auckland wanted to do a major day of caching, so headed down to Foxton area for a massive day. We got about 205.
Very sorry for the generic logs, but when doing so many in one day very hard to make notes on each.
But a big thank you to all the cache owners for putting out all of the great caches we visited.

Heading towards the Mega. Thought it would be impolite not to grab a few on the way through. Thanks all for the hides.
Sanson Day2.
Today we headed out to finish the KAZ trail. This was liking a tiki tour of the area around the farming country side.
The long grass made some of the caching today quiet difficult. I liked how the title included a hint.

Fab morning collecting caches on the way to play badminton in Feilding today - thanks so much for all the caches
Mothers Day treat = geocaching!!...it was supposed to be without the kids but that didn't pan out but I still managed to find 21 geocaches before the kids started to lose their mind! Thanks for setting these up, it was a great drive, nice & quiet on the roads today. Still heaps to collect
Visiting Manawatu over the weekend so had to try and get some of this trail completed. Great area for a trail and thankfully the rain had stopped. TFTC
With the exeption of "Route 66" in the North of Auckland I didn't visit any powertrail on my four week trip on beautyfull North Island because NZ is such a lovely Country with also so lovely People. No time for power trails at all. But this one is very, very good in shape and so I couldn't resist to visit a part of it. So I found 31 of the Caches before I moved on northward again.
Thanks a lot for the Caches and I hope I'll be back one day to get the others, too.

I was in Palmy North on business and decided to stay an extra day and spend time driving the KAS trail Nicely put together with the added bonus that its all on a sealed road.. and with plenty of parking. Just great. The weather co-operated with sunny skies and a nice breeze. Thanks for the trail.
I traveled down to Palmerston North for a 3 day geocaching weekend to give my numbers a bit of a boost, as I head towards my next caching milestone. I decided to fly there and back and pick up a cheap rental car for the weekend. The weather was perfect and I had a great weekend down there.
Today I joined forces with yorkshirekiwi83 for a full day of caching before an event in the city tonight. We picked up a few caches around the city first, then drove down towards Opiki collecting caches down some of the side roads as we went, then headed across to do the KAS Power Trail, before going up to do the caches around Ohakea then headed back to Palmerston North.
At this point we worked our way through the KAS Power Trail Series - a series that YK83 started last year, but which came an abrupt end for her. Today we had no such problems and had an enjoyable time finding all of the caches on the trail - the vast majority were nice easy finds, we only had notable issues with 3 caches (which I will go into more detail about on the relevant cache logs.) Thanks for the obvious time that has been spent putting these neat containers together and for placing this trail!

Vistra and I headed down to Manawatu as the KAS trail has been bugging me in its incomplete form, as we both needed numbers for personal goals it seemed like a good opportunity. Thanks to the cache owners for all the caches and the variety, over 2 days I found over 200 caches, so thank you for placing and maintaining them.
Most were quick easy finds, although there were some very clever ones and some well thought out. TFTC
