Thanks Tasilee for hiding this cache. Now that my calendar and streak are completed, I can just cache for the fun of it. Todays goal was to find all the traditionals in the Meehan Ranges that we hadnt yet found, a total of twelve caches. We didnt quite succeed, as one of the caches wasnt on the track we thought it would be on, but we still found eleven caches, doing a loop from the main carpark, to the cache Meehan 6 and then back down to the carpark at Belbins Road and back to the main carpark from there. A great day out walking some tracks that we hadnt before. There were a lot of places that this one could be, so it took a while for us to find. We eventually did, in the first place we checked. Amazing views from here as well. Favourite point given. Thanks for the cache Tasilee!

We are from Switzerland...We do housesitting all over the world and this time we are back in Tasmania the second time ...We traveled around here 14 years ago...its nice to be back and this time even better with geocaching ..Today Nggi2 and I went out to make out of green ones yellow Smilies We only wanted to visit one Challenge Cache today ..but then we walked on for another six hours at Meehan Range ..On our way we spoted Kangaroos and one lovely Echedna.. .A big snake crossed my path by surprise . We had to search a bit more by some of those Meehan Dsli. Some of he paths were quite difficult to walk .special the steep ones with the loose little stones. The scenery was great and the weather just right ..not to hot..but a I was a bit swaeting anyway....In the end our body and feet were aching .but it was worthwhile.Thank you for placing this Dsli (Dsli means little box in Swiss) I like to give you a FP for this round oinkoinkFast find

Hi Tasilee,I was walking in the Meehan Range with HWC today, and we stopped here for lunch. The walk leader (a muggle) mentioned that on a previous visit, she'd found a geocache nearby, but above the track, so I asked her to show me where, and there it was, about 25m from GZ.So after phelken signed the log, we re-hid where I believe it should be.I'll send you a pic separately. So, all's well with the cache - it lies in wait for the next finder/s.Cheers,EPs

Swampy and I organized to tackle some of the Meehan Range caches on our electrically powered means of locomotion. He had done a lot of them, but not all.GZ matches the hint, there is indications of a hide still in place, but no Tupperware.

I am away until the end of October so will check the cache out on my return. Meanwhile, enjoy the view.

After finding 2 caches in the series near here, I thought this one would be found but when I arrived at GZ, all I found was scattered around. The cache may still be there but I searched for 25 minutes (I was determined to find it!) before giving up and moving onto the next one.

No luck finding this cache today. I found a pike of rocks under a big rock but not sure if the cache should have been there. I looked for about ten
minutes but had to leave it as short on time. Thanks anyway Tasilee

Today we decided to finish off the Meehan Range series. We parked at the roundabout car park and headed up the hill in an anti-clockwise direction. There was a few push bike muggles, but the view from the top of the cliffs was fantastic, no wind on the water, just a great day with panoramic views.

Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

With another hike tee'd up (whilst the weather today is fine and cool, not icy, windy and wet) i set out into the awesome Meehan Ranges to complete another planned-path with caches for me to plunder Big Grin
The ascension was hard work but most certainly worth the effort as the views grew ever better and better [^]

The cache was found quick enough but i was way more interested in those unbelievable views than caching ha ha. The booty was just sitting there on a rock whilst i indulged in the amazing views!!! [pic included]

SL at 11:55 on Wednesday the 12th of May 2021.
The cache and contents are in great order [^]

Found on day 3 of a short visit to Tasmania to catch up with family and friends and do some caching.

Today my main targets were the challenge cache and a couple of multis in and around the Meehan Ranges.

I set off early for the walk up the hill, leaving the car parked at Belbins Road, visiting a couple of waypoints and collecting clues for another puzzle, and also picking up a couple of traditional caches along the way. I then followed the skyline track and bike tracks back down to the area around the MTB park, then back around to my vehicle. In all I spent a pleasant 5 hours or so wandering about, although my legs were certainly feeling it by the end!

In the afternoon I found a few other Mystery caches on the eastern shore that I wanted to get and didn’t require too much walking!

All of the caches that I looked for in this series were found reasonably easily. Maybe I’ll get back to do the rest of them sometime when I’m back this way.

Thanks Tasilee for the cache.

Thanks EeePees (spot on location!) and jll1713 for the heads-up and temp fix. I have just replaced the container and contents. No swappables and well hidden from stray muggles.

Hi Tasilee, thanks for the cache and the series.

Sadly this one's been muggled. When we arrived I spotted the lid just off the track in the rocks, and the geoSonE and geoDaughter gathered up bits of log sheets, and a pen.
We noticed some familiar names on various bits of paper, and added ours to the page that was signed by the last finder. Unfortunately, we didn't have anything useful as a replacement container, or logbook, but did wrap what we found in a supermarket bag, and re-hid it where we believe GZ should be. We did the best we could, but it does need some TLC though.

It was 2 and a half years ago that I first started this series, and I think I've got it completed today.
Found today while out and about with geoSonE, enjoying geocaching with jll1713, geoDaughter who is visiting from Queensland.
More good views here.

#1401 @ 1210hrs, Monday 15th July 2019 (a great winter's day).

“Found” with Geodad and GeoBroE. Sadly this one seems to have been muggled, Found the lid, pencil and notebook pages strewn everywhere in the wind. Signed a page and put back as per EeePees post.

I had trouble here. I found a spot that I was sure the cache would be. I moved the little rock's out of the way, and there was nothing by there. I kept searching and continued to find nothing. So I made a DNF note. As I was walking away I spotted something - it was the cache, but not where the hint would suggest. I edited my note and moved on.

Reperio at 0750.

With just a couple of hours free this morning, I decided to hit some trails for a jog and some caches. When I was planning our trip to Tasmania, I had my eye on doing this series, but unfortunately due to a lack of time, I could only manage to find about half of them. The trails here were fantastic to walk/jog along this morning, and the view along the top was absolutely fantastic. A great way to spend a morning.

Gratias Tasilee.

We were excited to make it to the cliff top walk. The views were fantastic and we stopped along the way for some fun photos. We then found the cache and sat right near it to enjoy a well earned lunch break and soaked up the views. This is what caching is all about! A favourite point for this one for its fabulous views. We waited a bit after then event finished just in case we had any late comers wanting to just do the walk but by 10 o'clock no-one had turned up so we set off.
We were doing the Meehan loop backwards since we were starting from the main car park and not the parking area at Belbins Road, so our first target was number 18 which I had already done but i was glad to tag along in the hope of finding the path I missed when I was here last, next we were off to number 17 and this was a bush bash too, it was only when we were getting near to 16 that we found a trail at long last, number 16 was the first hard search we had and we were just about to give up when Deutz4544(D E U T Z) made a find where the rest of us had missed it, this pleased us all no end.
We found our way to a few caches counting down the numbers until number 14 where we turned the corner and I spotted another big climb so I set off determined to get to the top without stopping, I made it and stop for a rest which turned out to be for a few minutes since Deutz4544(D E U T Z) had run out of time and had headed home on a good looking decent path I had walked past, I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye but I was on a mission.
Now we headed off to find a none Meehan cache, Room with a view which we all enjoyed before doubling back to the West so we could start back on the Meehan caches, we had some good fun finding caches 13 to 9 this is when we had to make a choice either go bush to number 8 or head Northwest following the path knowing full well we would have to double back after doing 6, 7 and 8.
Since we were heading North anyway we kept going finding a trail of sorts to take us towards the Trig point on Flagstaff hill, during this detour we came across my new caching mobile and some great sights, after finding a good path we headed Southeast from the top and started finding the Meehan caches again with number 6 taking us awhile to find before we went downhill all the way to 8 before turning round and going uphill yet again just so we could make our way to number 5.
After this it was a great run of quick finds as we at long last were making our way out of this monster that is the Meehan.

Having started out at about 10 this morning I along with GooseandEgg and TazScout found ourselves back at our cars around quarter to 6! We had a great day and I would like to thank everyone who turned up and I can’t wait for the next one.

Again,, this one took me a little longer to find as the hidey hole ended up being further "out" than I was initially willing to go, so kept going along. I found DDT's 'Where Creatures Take Flight' GC1GFHT in 2009, which was placed only about 2m away from this spot. Great location, superb views, thanks Tasilee.

Quite a spectacular spot and we thought would it really be down there, but it was and easier than first appeared, by circling in to GZ.

Mostly the Meehan Range at the Redgate section from Belbins Road has been walked as a circuit, but always on the northern hills as it was not known if the southern side ones allowed for a circuit walk. Upon discovering that there was a link running from the foot of them between the start of the mountain bike park and Belbins Road, it made a circuit worth attempting.

It is quite pleasant walking along the ridgetops but the highlight was the bush track leading over to the cliff edge. It was much nicer up here than expected. Once down near the highway, however, it is not very pleasant with the roaring din of traffic and towards the end close to the highway the rubbish is appalling.

This was Mrs Y'stassie's favourite one in this group - a lovely walk along the Cliff track that culminated in an amazing view, steep cliffs, green vegetation, both sides of the river and the mountain and of course a cache. The area was dry so Mrs Y'stassie was happy to explore the ledge and spend time admiring the scenery. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for another great caching experience Tasilee. A favourite for this one.

Saw these come out late on Friday. Unfortunately Saturday was already planned. As we had planned to complete our only remaining cache in the area this set of caches gave us the excuse for a good walk and 5 caches. Early start in the cool as the sun was behind the range. Very steep climb to the ridge (for us oldies!!) but once there it is a great area and a fantastic walk along the many tracks. Great spot with a feeling of being "on the edge of the world".

Early on Friday we received notification that one of our caches in the same area and at a similar altitude required maintenance. We decided to check on our cache the following morning. Later on Friday this series of caches was published. The timing couldn't have been better so we set off at about 8:30am on Saturday. It was a cool 6 degrees but by the time we reached our cache we were quite warm. A pleasant walk from there to Meehan 12 and we were signing the log at 9:55am. We found Meehan 11 at 10:10am, Meehan 10 at 10:20am and Meehan 9 at 10:30am. By now the air temperature was starting to warm up a bit. The views from each cache were spectacular. The walk back down was much faster. We were back in the car at about 11am. Sorry about the late log but circumstances prevented us from logging any sooner. Thanks Tasilee for this great series of caches.
