Brand new log book to write in. Cache lovely and dry. Not a soul about. Even t short weather! Thanks for the hide. #3116
After finishing for the day with all duties, I felt like an adventure was required, so I put my gumboots on and headed into the wild. Not much daylight left, so I got back to the car in pitch dark, but made it through the gate on time! The container was a good 3-4m from the hint object out in the open. The only reason I spotted it because the white was contrasting with the surrounding vegetation. Put back under the hint object, but the log is a slimy mush, and will need some attention. TFTC!!
Maintenance check today and cache replaced because of leakage......all good to go again.
Had the day to myself and threw the bike on the back of the cachemobile. I had to pickup my sister from the airport later in the afternoon so I had to do something to occupy myself as I was way too excited. Had to head north to do some cache loving and was hoping for a newly published cache to hit my 5000th. The day was clear but windy also a bit on the chilly side. I fixed a cache and then aborted a run on a cache a bit too far from where I was. I decided to clear up Waimak area up to the Kaiapoi River confluence.
Headind down the bank and a quick jump off the bike and back in no time.
Thanks for the cache Kiwi864.

Out for a stroll with the pooch and decided to gather some caches on the way. This cache was out in the wide open. We checked the hint then put it back where it seemed may have been its hidey hole. TFTC!!!
9 July 2017 5:23 PM. Trying to figure out if GZ was more like Toad or Badger. Stood out from the crowd that lived with the willows. Cache is rather wet. Drained it out the best I could. TFTC Kiwi864
#14071. We spotted GZ from some way off, and once there made out quickest find of the day. TFTC.
It was another beautiful autumn day and both StreetWalker and I wanted to find a few caches today to increase our find tally for 6 May. The caches along the north bank of the Waimakariri beckoned as it was a great day for a walk.
Once we locked in the cache, a possible GZ loomed in the distance and sure enough, there was the cache. A quick find as most of the camo paint has come off. Have tucked it away a little more. Thanks for the enjoyablewalk, Kiwi864 and TFTC.

Today's walk was about 4km from the carpark at the north end of Kaiapoi Island to the lookout at the Kaiapoi River confluence. It feels great to finally be getting more and more caches off my "too lazy" list. Over shot it a bit on the walk, a down side of getting a bit too into it . Had to tip some water out of the cache but was surprised to see the log was only slightly damp. TFTC (3421)

I've been meaning to knock the last of these caches off - I found the closer two before the furthest two existed for my streak, but decided while I was at it, I may as well find all 4!
So convinced hubby to come with me, and grabbed the gumboots, planning on tackling the lot, and walked on over.
Number two, and also very simple - there were massive elephant tracks leading up to the area!

364 just one more. Thanks for keeping the streak going. It was a lovely walk in the brush air, a quick find and a hurried return to the car add the weather closed in. Tftc
Found with Learn Active guys, trinkets were a bit wet so didnt do a swap. Guys also didnt want to give up our rugby card! Boys! Tftc
Decided that I needed to have a walk and find some a few caches. Pleasant walk out this way, and didn't take too long to find the cache. Thanks for the hide.
First cache excursion with nosynel for awhile. Was a lovely sunny afternoon so a good day to be out in winter. Cheers for the cache.
Our last find for the day. BBear44 and I had a great afternoon out collecting smilies. Thanks for bringing us to this area.
Another stop bank find. Parked down by the riveer and had an interesting walk to get here,
PIcking up some caches on the way to the CITO event.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Out with injeanious for a stroll by the riverside. Nice easy find, some brambles around. TFTC!
GZ stood out like a beacon on the walk to collect. We spotted the cache as soon as we approached. Tftc.
We had our geomutt Truffles with us and he thoroughly enjoyed roaming the area as we wandered along to find the cache. Perfect day for our picnic on our last day of our holiday. Found cache no problem.
BaldEd had asked me to accompany him on a bike trip to sign off a few new caches along the Waimak River. First up we passed a few of his and others caches so that I got a few more smilies.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
TFTC full log to follow.....
What a fun weekend at the Christchurch mega. Today I done a mix of cyclocaching and running along the trails..... definitely covered a fair bit of ground! Had heaps of fun. This cache was straight forward after a nice trip along the bank. The cache logbook was dry and cache well hidden.
Thanks for the cache

We are logging all our NZ MEGA 2015 caches after the event so that we can say how much we enjoyed our experience in Christchurch/Kaiapoi. The weather was perfect … the programme excellent … the organising team had really excelled themselves to provide a wonderful weekend. Congratulations to them all. We were also impressed with the sponsorship the management committee had managed to acquire – thanks to them also. We found your cache, Kiwi864, on a cruise round the Kaiapoi River and the Poynter Reserve and Wetland, on our bikes, during the weekend. TFTC.
Got up nice and early this morning to find a few caches nearby to the Chch mega, together with yorkshirekiwi83. Spotted GZ from a distance, so the cache was a nice quick find. TFTC!

Didn't take too long to track this one down. Nice wee wander in the sun.

Vistra and I went out to grab a few early morning finds before the rest of our team for the MEGA weekend turned up, back up the bank and further along the path we probably could have driven down, this was so much easier to find, after our temporary blindness. TFTC

full day of the Mega long weekend we (Dunedin Caching Crew - DCC) hit the road and went for a drive to log as many caches as we could.
In town for the Mega event and of course one does as many caches as one can . The was one of the quality caches that we completed with Adventure Collectors. We had an awesome time , met many amazing cachers. TFTC
Not to many of these in the area so nice easy find 5th for the mega tftc
Decided to do the trail today. The path started off nicely and then progressively got less of a path and more of a track. We grabbed the first cache easily enough and then continued on the path. It got very muddy and swampy and so we decided to try take a shortcut across to the other path. The first 80m was just tall grass and we wended our way through it. Then it got blocked by trees, brambles, blackberry, gorse and much more.. We ended up scraped and scratched when we finally made it to the second path and then another quick dash to the main path. The next two caches were easy find, but the one in the field next to the logs was a DNF followed by another DNF at the bridge. Thanks (we think) for the adventure. Mycro Man will thank you for this one and the fairy half too.. Did with Mycro Man at the Chch Mega Event
we kind of went the long way round- then realized where we were supposed to be and got there quite easily. Nice quick find. A very pleasant overcast day for walking down here- tftc
At least one easy find on a more challenging way day. A bit wet, but cache is fine. TFTC
Read the hint on the way to the cache so knew where it would be as I were walking to GZ. TFTC.
Our gps put us right in the middle of the grass but with the other comments we got it after a wee hunt. Great camo! Tftc
Found the Container lying in a Lake that has formed at GZ.The water had got in,so dried it out the best we could.Thankfully the LogBook was nice and dry.
But had a laugh as some Scouts have found it on the 16th of June!!.LOL.
We have moved it slightly higher up about a foot away and it is now standing upright,it should now be ok.The next Cachers won't have any trouble finding it.TFTH

Came out to Kaiapoi for a morning bike ride. Parked up by the library and set out for a lovely ride. When living in Kaiapoi I used to visit the old library a lot and also bike around the Poynters track....shame to see it still hasn't been maintained.
Still frosty and cold in the shadows. Quick find and sign at gz. Nicely done. Onwards to the next.

Well done, I did enjoy this one. Had me going for a moment or two. TFTC, Cheers Bo
Out on a family ride today checking out the route before we do it in a couple of weeks with the Cub Scouts. Dropped TB. TFTC!
A pleasant walk with only 3 muggles in sight. A well concealed cache, even with the elephant tracks leading close by. TFTC
What a change 24 hours can bring! Yesterday I froze with the chill factor of <4C as I rode the stopbank to visit the adjacent Wind in the Willows cache. Today, was a truely delightful day with a balmy 12C temperature, blue skies and absolutely no wind. I had to abandon my initial search and rode away to wait out a muggle and his muttle as they walked past GZ. Once they were out of sight I returned and soon found the well camoflaged cache. On opening the log I discovered that I was again a FTF. [^] My second in 2 days. Thanks for placing the cache Kiwi864.
Always the bridesmaid!!!! Beaten by a few hours. This was a continuation of our Winter stroll, and it was so peaceful. Nicely presented container and more elephant tracks unfortunately. Thank you.
