Wow that took longer than expected!Plastic bag was torn; have replaced it with a new one.
Avenging a DNF. Hint item was certainly helpful after locating the correct hint item. Nicely camouflaged.

FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCat who had found this about an hour earlier and nudged me to the right direction
The unnatural cover looks more and more natural the more time passes by.
It's amazing how horopito leaves taste like chili peppers!
Kia ora! Paldies!
Thanks for the cache, Aslan*!

Not seeing a cache. Plenty of hint items scattered about but nothing that indicates a cache is underneath.
A long day out for SullyMum and the two boys. A drive across the port hills from Gebbies Pass t'o Sumner beach, with a lunch stop in Lyttelton. 13 Caches and an Adventure Lab, probably makes it the most productive day we’ve had in a while (if ever). Waiting for SullyDad to get home from his summer in Antarctica - due to land back in Chch in the middle of the night.
Our second DNF for the day.

With rustynz on a caching adventure to Christchurch. Discovering now that the wrong dates where written in the logs
Loving driving the Summit road, and finding a few caches along the way. Thanks for the hide

With rebel98 on a short trip away to Christchurch. All our dates written in the logs are wrong woops, luckily this online log is the correct date
Well I nearly did myself an injury climbing over the fence! thankfully all good with the cache, once I spied the not so natural thing. I had been focusing too much on the natural thing.
All good with cache, thanks for the hide Aslan*, loving the Summit road

Found on a beautiful Christchurch day ( 26/7/20)
Great description of the trees.

#18170. I made hard work of finding this one, initially searching the wrong tree, then struggling to find the man-made object. Got there in the end. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a caching mission to the Port Hills to find 6 caches for a calendar challenge we have set ourselves.
I wasn't keen on hurdling the fence (which was sporting barbed wire), so I remained on one side while SW hopped over and started searching. I read past logs for more information, while SW flailed around in the undergrowth. He got there in the end! TFTC.

It was a surprisingly quick find considering all the previous logs - sometimes you just need luck and start at the right spot. TFTC
Iris was in Wellington and I had wanted to do some Summit Road and Diamond Harbour. geocaches for some time. Set off at 9am. Found 14. DNF 2. Drove 90km and walked about 4km. This was cache number five. I took some time before spotting the cache. Did find a strange object very close! Beautiful spring day up here. Thanks for the cache and the exercise. Rodney
Whist the tree was obvious the cache location took some time to nail, neat hide, TFTC
The weather forecast being less than promising we decided to do a series of drive-by caches and short walks rather than our customary Sunday afternoon walks.
Not ideal as a drive-by, but we managed to reach the track anyway. TFTC

Caching along this part of the Summit Rd with peter 007 on a clear & crisp winter's morning.
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, Asl;an*; I think I'll be back tomorrow on the faint chance that I might retrieve my sunglasses - 2nd pair lost to caching this year !

spent the morning geocaching from Gebbies Pass to Sign of the Kiwi with KotukuSI. Crisp morning but great views.
Out for a walk and some caching along the Summit Road. This cache was a quick find. TFTC.
Quick find at the start of a loop walk to find caches and explore an area ( Omaha Reserve) that we had never been to before. Thanks for the cache!
During my Geocaching trip at the Summit Road I had of course a stop at this box.
The area is protected by a fence. But after a quick climbing I could see the Stand Alone Tree and the Cache

This area as been Fenced off at the Gate and has Warning Notice.Do Not Enter..but Womble Terry managed to squeeze through, for a quick find.TFTH
I had a great time finding caches along the summit road today! The whole area was very quiet and the views were great. Nice easy find here, TFTC!
Found with the Learn Active crew. Awesome teaching point with the natural unnatural debate.
doing a part of summit road today. read the logs and jumped the fence..... thanks for the box, rolofant
A fabulous day to go caching with The Burnsy. We decided to drive around Summit Road and pick up a few caches. Burnsy had an injured foot and I had an injured neck so we made a pretty good pair. Our tactic for the day was to stick to caches closest to the road, so as not to strain ourselves. Burnsy is a fair whack taller than me so he scaled the fence and found the tree in question. We soon signed the cache and headed off. Tftc.
Thought this would be a quick park and grab but then saw the sign on the fence saying keep out. Looked at the barbed wire fence, watched the runner go past on the Crater Rim Walkway and decided it must be on the track. A quick scramble over the gate and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC
Enjoying holidaying down South with tmann421. More wet weather today.
We were a bit unsure of crossing the fence with the private property sign, but still legged it over the fence for a quick find. TFTC

We found this cache fairly quickly with showers of rain around.

Thanks for the cache, I didn't think to bring a pen, wasn't intending to do any caches today. Bit concerned about the private property sign until a saw a walker on the track.
On a trip to Damond Harbour - caching and exploring. As I pulled up here, I figured which was the tree standing alone so heading straight to it. A once around and after moving and object, the cache was in hand - TNLNSL. Thanks for this placement also Asian*.
I was out with BaldEd picking some caches that he hadn't signed off and needless to say that I hadn't signed off. This was one just for me.
Cheers for the cache.

Another quick find while enjoying collecting a few caches along here early evening, TFTC Aslan*, #8182
Nice quick find here and met the same group of walkers we had bumped into a few caches back down the track who had asked if we were geocaching. Had another quick natter when they asked if we had had any success in our search.
How can a tree be lonely when the are cachers coming to visit so regularly? Cheers.
A drive around the block from home! Well the BIG block. Nice day, but the wind was pretty cold.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Went out to go find some caches with mum given she was actually in Chch this weekend.
We had initially planned for some others, but bad weather, and bad planning meant we went down this road instead. Which is nice too, as I've had my eye on clearing this up a little better for a while.
And it was park and grabs mostly only due to the pouring rain and freezing cold!!
Haha, that cover definitely was unnatural!!
Consec caching day #1028

We kept the tree company for a bit so it doesn't have to stand alone all the time. Quick find though, so the tree is standing alone again. TFTC!!

We were in need of some fresh air and a drive. We headed up this way so that I could grab some photos and coords for a LAB cache, check on a cache and retrieve a placed cache that was too close to another cache. I spotted the stand alone tree and made a quick find. Grabbed the cache that I had placed a few months back and we headed off to check another on up the road. Lovely day.
Thanks for the cache.

Up on the summit road this afternoon for a handful of caches, sun on the way down, but still some great views to be had. TFTC (2291)
#13 of 19 today. It's always nice to beat Bo to the find... This was one other the times! A great day out walking the hills and cleaning up some unfound caches.

What??? No cars??? [:o)] This is as far as I got on todays walk, the paper tree will have to be an excuse for another adventure. I have a great line for people new to our outdoors. You try a little bit yourself and tell a story of how it is called a peppermint tree, and that is what the leaves taste like it pretty much always get an interesting reaction.
I think I counted three separate trees making up this one bush which makes it fairly interesting in its own right.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

Had a few spare minutes after doing some jobs in town. Surprised to still see a bit of snow still clinging to the shadows. Quick find and sign. Awesome crisp afternoon views out to the plains. Cheers.
Perfect weather for a caching adventure with my buddy BBear. This poor tree sure was lonely. Thanks for this wee series of caches.
Wasn't completely alone there are some very nearby. Enjoying the day out with my cache buddy. Cheers for the cache.
