Thanks to some recent logs we had it in hand quite quickly. A surprise to see what was inside but somehow I managed to pick the right one straight away! Not much room left on the log... unless there is more than one log and I just didn't check!

16-Nov-24
Thanks for my first find!

GPS took us to the wrong side of the tracks as well. Eventually found it, and thought we were done! We were wrong, and were assaulted by mosquitoes and the midday sun. Fun, I guess! Love from Singapore.

I have driven by this cache many many times over the years but today was the day after organising to meet kbucky here to get a yellow smiley here and finally with the lucky last one open there it was thanks for the entertainment & TFTC

01-Jan-24
Kashbound and I met before the New Year's Day event to find a couple of caches on the way. Very glad its a beautiful day as this cache took some time. However I did learn a method from KK today which made it more efficient but as as luck would have it, of course it was the last one! So much effort and $$$ has gone into this cache and the amusing motivational quotes and messages and knock knock jokes. TFTC tassieexpat fave point for above reasonsregardskbucky

Great find.

10-Aug-23
On the way done to Inverloch for a couple of days we stopped of to check out these places that we normally drive by. Loved out walk through this green space. Nice easy find, but now for the patience bit. Laughed all the way. Not sure what previous finders YummyAzEats signed but certainly was not the log book. Thanks tassieexpat for the cache. Its gets a fav from me

Off on an early morning geocaching run enjoying the public holiday to enjoy the life of the wonderful Queen Elizabeth. Glad I left early as heading back to Koo Wee Rup at 10.30 am, there are Thousands and Thousands of cars heading down to Phillip Island and the Bass Coast.

Found it in the 4th last one to search. But with the log getting pretty full, soon the CO is going to have "patience" trying to replace the log.

Thanks for the cache Tassie Expat

11-Mar-22
TFTC, done and you need patience, a fav point from me because of the ingenuity.

11-Mar-22
Found with icw. That was the easy part then the fun started. Definitely not your average traditional rock-up-and-sign cache. A lot of fun and a fav point from me.

26-Sep-21
GPS had me searching at first on the wrong side of the track- log book a bit too wet to sign. Beautiful day for a walk here. Tftc

26-Sep-21
I absolutely adore this cache, it’s hilarious. Looked for the yes but couldn’t find it, didn’t have a pen on me but it was brilliant find TFTC -Raymond

22-Sep-21
Found by Omegaman1971
Earthquake day 2021

In the area for work but had sometime for a few caches.
Found the container relatively easy but then the fun began.
The mosquitoes are horrendous here, which added to the challenge.

Cheers for the cache

15-Jul-21
Geo-baby is getting bitten by mosquitoes. Definitely time for lunch!

14-Apr-21

The field puzzle part was there, but the container that housed it had gone! Replaced with a cammo bag in the same spot. Happy hunting.

Will come out next week for maintenance walk.

25-Sep-20
No luck searching today yet noticed the previous geochacher also had trouble. Will be back to try again...

16-Aug-20
We took the geokids and dog out for a walk yesterday around the Gurdies Flora and Fauna Reserve. It was a bonus that there were some fun geocaches to find along the way.

This was our first for the day and disappointingly we couldn’t find the cache to even attempt the puzzle. Have messaged the CO for confirmation as to whether it may have been muggled. We will return...

09-May-20
Out for some caching around The Gurdies today and we found this one along the way.
Oh boy.
I found the container very easily upon reaching gz and wondered how this cache deserved its title.
I then proceeded to open the container and realised that it was very well deserved indeed.
The two of us entered a process to find the log and it was only on the third last attempt that it finally appeared!
Thanks to tassieexpat for hiding this cache!

TFTC, Brainiac03 Smile

Amazing so creative

28-Dec-19
We found this cache today in company of Pprass, Maccamob and The Swaggies. Other than the cache event, our first actual cache find of the day with two DNFs and two visits to already found caches. Interesting to see a large family choosing the spot near the parking area to hold a family picnic. Thanks from D B-A.

28-Dec-19
Found by Mary and David at 15:35. Back again, almost two years later to the day, and this time with The Swaggies and Rabbitto, as well as pprass, for company. A dry day, too, unlike last time. Found the cache again, and set about applying our combined patience. We divided the task, and met with success at the fourth or fifth item. Our thanks to tassieexpat.

28-Dec-19
Found at 3:37 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob, Rabbitto and The Swaggies..
We were here a few years ago with maccamob and it just started to pour down on us and when we discovered what we had to do, we just replaced everything and got out of the quick smart.
Today with a good bunch of people, we opened the container and started to do the "work" and on the 5th opening - voila Razz
Thanks tassieexpat

24-Nov-19
Very easy find TFTC

19-Oct-19
You evil evil co you! :3 youre cache has certainly pushed my patience BUT I BET YOU!! Bring the mozzie spray, or is that part of the lesson too

18-Sep-19
Some people have all the luck and today it was going Jules6 way. I started the task and some how missed what I was looking for, Julian had a go and bingo first try he had it. Thanks tassieexpat

18-Sep-19
Finding the Cache was easy . But to sign the log , well that was a bit tedious . Thanks tassieexpat .

31-Aug-19
Most frustrating cache EVER

14-Jul-19
Found it

04-Jun-19
Decided to check out this area tonight after work. Nice cache!

15-May-19
For some time now I have zoomed past on the nearby Bass Highway and thought 'I really should get those caches in The Gurdies one day'. Had a rare free weekday afternoon so managed to head down here and try these out at last. A lovely walk and a great series of caches. This was my final one to head to after having picked up all others in the park. Made the initial find quickly enough but it took me a little longer of course to get my hands on the logbook. My eighth find of nine for the day. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series in a great location tassieexpat. This one earns a favourite point for me as the frustration didn't get too much for me this time!

09-Apr-19
I loved the key one that used to be out here. Has it been placed elsewhere? This one was heaps of fun and I got lucky and found the log within 5 or 6. For a moment I was worried it had been chewed up by the recent mowing/slashing of the path, but all good!

30-Nov-18
We headed down to Granville for lunch and then decided on a walk after. This park with its collection of caches seemed perfect.
Like a previous logger, my gps initially led me to the wrong sue of the track but I realized fairly soon and soon had the cache in hand. I was about to sing a nice new log page when the meaning of the clue became clear. Damn! Correct log was eventually identified and duely signed.
Thanks for giving us a reason to go for a walk.

09-Sep-18
Out again with MazzyMay for a few that have had me stumped. I cant see what my problem was with this one at all but nice to get it off the the to do list. TFTC

09-Sep-18
WeRAmused and I enjoyed a nice walk around the park collecting the variety of caches here. We really enjoyed ourselves and the challenges presented by this well thought out series. TFTC FP

25-May-18
Gps was way out so had to use my skills to work out where a good place was - found the buggers and soon signed the log -- all good tflc

14-Jan-18
Patience is not one of snugglebunnies virtues. I claimed the find for the container and once again Geohubby claimed the find for the log book. Smart cache. Thanks again tassieexpat

29-Dec-17
Still with pprass, we pushed our luck one cache too far with the rain here. By the time we reached GZ, it was raining steadily. We found the cache quickly, but there was no shelter, so we were all getting quite wet while we began our task. Alas, we weren't patient enough, and the rain was getting even heavier, so we gave up and returned to the car absolutely drenched. On our to-do list for a dry day in the future.

29-Dec-17
This was a classic case of just one too many! We made the huge mistake of saying "Yeah - we can just do this one before we head back to camp" - just as it started to rain and boy did it come down. We made the find easy enough - but then we were horrified at what we had to do - is this a D of just 1.5? Don't think so - and definitely not for us in this drenching rain.
After a few minutes of trying to extract swollen logs, we called it quits and sloshed our way back to the car. Not a very comfortable ride back to camp!
Will have to come back another day.

29-Oct-17
After a long lay off from our hobby we decided that today was too good to pass up & was The Day for our reintroduction. We thank the CO's tassieepat, BorisB&Natasha, & Gonefishen07 for a fun, interesting and rewarding day. We set out to find 12 caches & were completely successful. All caches found were in excellent condition. Several were worthy of adding to our Fav list including this one. We opened 7 containers before we found The One.

*No matter how often we head towards Wonthaggi or Phillip Island, there are always unfound caches to gather in along the way.*
It was our second call to this reserve, first time we found the caches to the North, so today we covered the southern section. Rocks have always been our nemisis, not sure now after the exasperation here today!

We were somewhat taken aback after we found the cache, as there were no attributes to warn us there is somewhat more to this cache in finding the log than meets the eye.

Satellites today had our GZ 9 metres NNW of where we found the cache.

Thanks tassieexpat for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

28-May-17
I was out and about with Biggles Bear down Kilcunda way on our monthly caching adventure. While the hide was simple, finding the cache took some time, with some paper rolls hard to extract. Eventually found the right one and signed our names in the log.

Thanks again to tassieexpat for the cache.

27-May-17
Found 10:10:00 AM, in the company of Muzza, whilst out on our May caching adventure.

TNLN, thanks tassieexpat (F=2528 H=45).

Great area to walk through, as tragically pretty as the fire ravaged areas looked. We got lucky when picking one at random ~ Thanks

19-May-17
We were initially on the wrong side of the fence haha... Cool cache though, thanks! The burnt trees also provided a different view to usual walking trails.

19-May-17
Got lucky. The second one I tried

30-Apr-17
This part of The Gurdies is not off limits now. The burn off has really ravaged the land. frmen1 and I were amazed to see the new growth after only a week!

25-Apr-17
Burn off done and warning signs have been removed. I'll return later this week.

13-Mar-17
Dear Bunjil and fellow Geocachers
Due to a planned burn off in The Gurdies Nature Reserve, I have retrieved and disabled my caches. The burn off is planned to occur sometime between now and the end of April, requiring ideal weather conditions for it to proceed.
This may mean that these could be offline until May.
Until then...cheers, tassieexpat

My caching has been a bit quiet lately, but I have no work today so a caching mission is on. This a very nice part of Victoria that I usually just drive through on the way to Phillip Island.

On this cache I parked on the road where the cache seems to be placed. However after risking snake bites and climbing through nasty spider webs I found myself on the track..... damn
Next I spot caution tape for the burning.... am I on the ok side or not??? Oh well better find it.

Another really cool cache, a bit tricky but after some careful analysis I opened the correct one first time.

07-Jan-17
Without a map of this area and being shot on time to get to the Wonthaggi event, I just enjoyed the walk to this one The enjoyment was. Brought to a sudden halt when I found the caxhe, but a systematic approaxh luckily brought to light the correct one aom the 5th go TFTC tassieexpat

I have done a few of this genre including 2 today but chance. As long as they are not too onerous the novelty works and this one was not too bad. The sixth try for me - pretty good.

18-Nov-16
Probably not the smartest move to have this lined up after Patience you must have young Geoacher #1 but it was my last for the reserve other than the mystery which I hadn't pre-solved and wasn't going to try to do so out in the field.
For the record, it was my 7th attempt that proved the charm. There's nothing for it but to be methodical and remove one at a time whilst you hope you get lucky and find it immediately....

01/11/2016 11:14:00 AM - Heading out of Melbourne this morning the weather was cool which developed into heavy rain later in the afternoon. Along the way I stopped here to find this cache Smile

Thanks tassieexpat Smile for the adventure.

With life getting in the way of caching recently, today was a good day to get out and head south for a mind clearing day away from it all. In the company of abl973 we had some excellent walks around areas and trails that we hadn't visited before.
Sometimes you have to try all options, sometimes you get lucky and find it on the first go, and other times you need to try a few but are very relieved when you happen across it!
Thanks for the cache.

09-Oct-16
This one could have taken a lot longer than it did.
We got a bit lucky.
Thanks tassieexpat.
Chiefton!!!

25-Sep-16
Coming back today to complete this Nature Reserve. At GZ, cache was quickly found and then the "fun" began. It is really a matter of patience as it suggests. For us it took a while and the system worked in the end. Log signed and back safe again. Thanks for your caches.

22-Sep-16
Well that one moved from fun to frustration!
Thanks for all the effort and a great series.

11-Sep-16
With work commitments on the increase and preventing any serious caching, today Dunko and I managed to get out for some late arvo relief, we had out with no real caching plan other than to find a few.. this being one. Many thanks to tassieexpat for the cache - TNLN SL

11-Sep-16
With both Slink1 and I with other projects on, finding time for caching can be problematic at times but we managed to get out for an impromptu caching run today. With not much of a plan we headed off and followed our nose and found the cache. Thanks to tassieexpat for the cache - TNLN SL

18-Aug-16
For me the fun is in the finding, not activities, so this isn't a favourite of mine. Fortunately it was number 2.

15-Jul-16
Wow, wasn't sure what to expect here by the clue, but was thinking I'd pass here, but had a go and actually got it second go. Log filled and I was on the way again.

Thanks for the cache tassieexpat.

18-Jun-16
This cache was a bit of a nightmare to sort out, but eventually got the right one. TFTC

18-Jun-16
So glad no muggles came along! Luckily our patience wasn't tested too much as I taught my teenage companion how to check systematically. TFTC.

01-Jun-16
Walking up to GZ I thought 'whats the fuss about' cache was sighted straight away, once opened it was a different story !!!!!! Got my own little system going and before I knew it whala I had the little sucker. A favorite from me

16-May-16
You are joking, Tassieexpat! Took us ages to find the right one. Talk about a needle in a haystack! Luckily there were two of us to work a system or we still be there!

16-May-16
Out hunting with Surefoot24 and got a system going. Just as well there were two of us or we'd still be there. Needed a seat nearby. TFTC tassieexpat

14-Mar-16
Found the cache but not the YES

26-Jan-16
It didn't beat me. Even on a quick stop heading to the island.

20-Jan-16
This is day 26 of our trip out of Sydney touring the southern states of Victoria and Tasmania.

This was quickly and easily found, but then the challenge began. As we did not read the hint it was just being systematic and patient that revealed the log. We really did need the patience as out of twenty it was in number twenty, of course! That's life. After the log had been signed the cache was replaced as found and we were soon on our way. We are giving it a favourite point for the challenge and showing us we really do have patience. TFTC.

02-Jan-16
On our way to Wonthaggi for the Bake Off when this cache poppeduo on the Nuvi. We had hoped it was a driveby but as soon as we pulled up we knew we were in for a bit of offroad navigation. The cache was found easily but then the problems started. After a few tries, we tried a different tactic which resulted on a quicker find.
TFTC tassieexpat.

02-Jan-16
Found the containr quickly after a short walk. Took a few goes to extract the log.. Tftc

02-Jan-16
Full log to follow. Fonf 803

15-Nov-15
Instead of parking in the Gurdies carpark for this one, we drove down the road before realising our mistake. Rather than looking for a place to do a u turn, we pulled up adjacent to the cache and Geoturtle waited in the car while I headed off to see what I could find. Arriving at gz the cache was an easy find, but once again, signing the log might not be so simple. Fortunately for me, with amazing good luck I was succesfull on my first attempt. Log signed and cache returned I headed back to the geotruck still thanking my lucky stars. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

28-Oct-15
Easy find but I certainly used up all my patience right to the last bit to complete the job.
Thanks tassieexpat FTC.

01-Oct-15
Our first of this kind...very entertaining!

05-Sep-15
Found it but couldn't open log haha silly me will be back to open it and write in the log had a muggle with dogs come by so was a quick drop and walk by pretending I was playing on my phone
