Found what I believe was the container after looking at previous find photos, its been trashed and needs urgent upkeep from the owner.
Found a container with no lid, a damp piece of paper, and some slugs. It was face up and exposed, maybe been found by a passer by?
For reasons other than geocaching, I found myself visiting the Windermere Berry Farm just outside Wanganui today. But of course there is always time to find a cache or two after real life stuff, so I decided to make a bit of a day of it and look for a few such as this one.The weather was really hot by now, and I was feeling a bit heat-weary by now. So I arrived, saw that a hunt in the bushes would be necessary, searched around for 10 minutes and then left. It's probably just me rather than an issue with the cache. I'll have to come back on a cooler day.
I had signed up for an event called 'The Mudder' in Marton, at the Rangitikei Farmstay, and thought that it was the perfect excuse to take a couple of days off work and go on a 5-day road trip to Whanganui and Palmerston North. All up I travelled 1,650km and found over 200 caches/ad lab stages mostly targeting high favs. There were plenty of cars parked by GZ belonging to the workers from the industrial factories across the road. But the strong wind kept all the other muggles away. Got to GZ and quickly spotted something, which proved to be the cache.
Planned to head out to Whanganui with some friends and find lots of the high fav point caches (mostly firewoofand also get some different caches types for WOC. They ended up pulling out and just had Finn with us.
This was a cool and. Interesting hide! I picked up the TB and will take for a joyride!
I wrote in the log and placed the cache back as found. TFTCSL, Thanks adventure collectors for this Traditional cache.

Stopping overnight in Whanganui on our way to Wellington.
Grabbed this cache while we were there. Dropped in a trackable for another Cacher to move along.
Many thanks for the hide adventure collectors

TFTC. Another great looking hide. Some great little bits of paradise to see #210
We are in NZ from Australia. This is our replacement holiday instead of Seattle 2020, not quite the same but that’s all AirNz can muster up for our credit. But we are happy it’s a holiday and we get to see all our NZ pals. As well as this there is geocaching to be done.
When planning this trip I asked my friend in Upper Hutt where we could stay on the way back to Auckland she suggested Whanganui which we thought sounded interesting as we haven’t been here before. Little could she have guessed that it was the home to many many wonderful caches. What a bonus for us.
I drew up a list of caches with lots of FP and it did not disappoint.
Quick find and cache. TFTC
SA’s Leap Year Mega Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024 - Adelaide South Australia . Can’t wait!!

Quick find of the interesting hide. Note ‘TFTC logs will be deleted’ for a signed log is against the rules.
One of the best ones I’ve seen. Excellent camo. Forgot to log. Wasn’t sure if it was this one or the one further on the cycle path
The first geocache I ever saw. Was with a friend not knowing what this all was. Found it again with my daughter all these years later. Looks the same
I'm on a trip with my Mum and two youngest children. We're doing a quick tour of the North Island. We walked around the rim of the Waihi gold mine and stayed in Tauranga the first night. Stayed at Lottin Point then we headed to Gisborne before driving down to Napier. Turangi was our next destination before heading to our old stomping ground Palmerston North yesterday. We're off to Whanganui and New Plymouth today then Taumaranui via the Forgotten Highway tomorrow. Next is a quick dash down to the Raurumu spiral before going up to Waitomo Caves. Back to Auckland for a few days with family, the long awaited 2020/2022 Mega then home to Whangarei.
I was hoping to get enough of the first TMGT caches to complete the Tauranga, Gisborne and Taranaki areas. In the end I failed on all counts. By the time I got to Taranaki I had decided to do higher favourited caches rather than the tour ones. A great disappointment to get all the way out to the East Cape lighthouse to find the track closed the other day too.
I had very limited time in Whanganui today. We managed to go down the elevator today on Durie Hill which was closed last time I was on town. That was fun. There were quite a few high favourite caches and I'd just found the firewoof one near here. I was keen to get the virtual further out this way too as I like to find different types. A neatly blended in cache, thanks

Easy find today after a previous DNF. This time the 'cache' was overturned showing me the container easily. All dry and in good order. Replaced a bit more hidden. Absolutely beautiful view today, very clear and blue. Tftc
Nicely done cache. I looked in the correct area first but didn't think it looked like a place to hide a cache. Tried a few even less likely places before returning and searching with my hands instead of my eyes. One thing didn't feel right - because it was concealing the cache. Thanks for putting in the effort to make things like this.
A birthday outting with Miss 13 on the weekend lead us to this cache. It's always cool when you find a creative cache. It was great to get back in the swing of being out on a hunt and enjoying being out and about together. Happy to add another smilie. Tftc
What an awesome cache , never found one like this before .. great camo.. thanks so much for your efforts in making this cache
ANZAC weekend in Taranaki/Whanganui . Focused on Adventure Labs and also whatever will be handy. This hide was one of them.
Nice one!
Visible geotrail lead the way to the cache!

at least this one was quick and easy to get to, got my hand onto this very well done camo first shot, fav point for this one, tftc
Taking a long weekend in Whanganui. Caravan at Castlecliff camp ground and getting a few caches before heading home. Very nice camo. Thanks.

I found the cache along with a family of cockroaches which was a particularly unfortunate bonus prize
A quick easy find of a nicely camouflaged cache after a short walk along the trail. A favourite from us. TFTC
Haha nicely done. This cache actually made me laugh which deserves a fav point. Grey, windy and muggle free out here today, so perfect for jumping on the treadly (also in red) and grabbing some caches before heading back home. TB dropped off. TFTC
This is a nicely hidden cache that needed a short search to find. The container fits in nicely with its surroundings.
Cache # 4,921 - a trickier hide than some of the others, but didn't take too long for brucewwnz and I to track this one down. All good here, and quite clever. TNLNSL. TFTC!
These are my favorite types of caches, no muggles to worry about except for the large rat that came scurrying by freaking me out lol

On a day visit to Whanganui and enjoying a bike ride along the riverside path. Nice work here adventure collectors! Another favourite added.
Awesome hide worthy of a favourite! Number 5 on my mini mission that has included 3 favourite points being given out! Well done geocachers of Whanganui!
Took the kids and the dog on a morning stroll today to place another container in the cache camouflage. I don't understand why someone would take the container?? I'm just glad the cache camo was still there! Thanks Fap and Gap for the heads up!
Happy caching

Day 1 (With Squirrel Nutcase) of our Whanganui road trip.
Knew this was going to be a long day today. First cache found about 8am and last one found just before midnight.
Mission today Event, A cache starting with the letter U, Several Multi's, Earth Cache, Virtual and anything else we could find.
Achieved all the above.
Thanks to Cache Owners for their placement efforts and sorry about the cut and paste but this was a huge weekend for us. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... On a road trip weekend - We haven’t been on anything like this since Covid Episode One in March. A special Community Event in Whanganui got our attention. So we’re off to the ‘River City’ for a bit of fun...
Day One of our adventure - We intended on caching out some big trails, with the Community Event being the key focus... We found an unusual piece of camouflage perched in the scrub - The cache appeared to be missing. We quickly fired off an email to the CO and left a temporary container. This would have been a certain favourite. Thanks adventure collectors and TFTC.

Once again I am up in Wanganui (from Wellington) for the weekend, out and about for a few more caches. Spent the beautiful afternoon strolling along the river pathway collecting caches, and this was one. All safe and dry, TFTC.
Mid afternoon, just before leaving town after my short visit - grabbed a few caches from the opposite side of the river from where I was this morning. Absolutely deserted here. Quick find. TFTC.
#11,865. A good little walk along the Mountain to Sea Cycleway off Gilberd Street in Castlecliff, Whanganui. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. Good hide. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

One of 16 caches located today on a bike ride from our motel in town out to Castlecliff, mostly on a shared pathway. Took a brief moment to spot because we needed to go around to the “other side” of the hint object. #3268. TFTC.
This one was so fun! Took us a while since we were focused on the bush and not surroundings.
Have stayed at Castlecliff seaside campground for the night and decided to get the caches along the riverbank on the way back to Whanganui. An easy find. Thanks
Once at go it didn’t take long to spot something that looked slightly different to the rest. On closer inspection we located the log. A few insects have made this their home.
Instead of parking next to each one of these caches, I parked up just around the corner and walked down to this one before making my way back. Took a little while to find my way in but got there in the end. Nicely camouflaged. All good here. TFTC
Quite a cool cache that isn't the same old bottom of post. On the way home from the beach on Christmas day I got this quick find.

Of course, what I really should be doing here is cycling. But no, on foot it is.
Day two of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki.
Left Palmerston North and headed to Rattll's Christmas Barbecue event. Managed to travel as far as Whanganui - it's going to be a slow trip!!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

No bikes with us this time round so we are driving and walking it. Another quick snag and tag. Cheers
Day 2- Sunday, 15 December. Palmerston to Wanganui today.
With the Etherlord Kids in tow we head north towards Wanganui and the awesome Rattls BBQ. Then TS and I head towards Wanganui then team up with Infoferret for an afternoon of caching.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Find number 6383. In Wanganui with a German friend who is doing part of the Te Araroa trail. After dropping her off at where she had previously go to I spent the day caching. I had my bicycle so spent the day on the cycle trails each side of the river.
The sun was shining all day so thankfully I had good sunscreen on or I may have been a little red myself. Cache all good. Thank you for the placement.

Staying in Whanganui for a weeks work at the hospital. Enjoying collecting some local caches as have not been here before. Loved this container and gets a favourite from us.
Checked up on this one while enjoying a walk with the geo-dog. This is in good condition and I wiped off the odd slimy bug from the lid. All dry inside.
Happy caching

This is my first full day in Wanganui getting lots of caches around town. I liked the way this cache was hidden. TFTC.

Spent a pleasant day caching in Whanganui. The forecast rain held off until late in the day which was good. Didn't take long to spot what I was looking for. A clever hide. TFTC
Had been planned during the week to come here this weekend from Taranaki to 1, break the new car in and see if it’s a good fit for our family and to test it out caching and 2,to tackle 20 caches on our list that I’ve been wanting to get for a while. The weather forecast started to look worse and worse as the week went on but as it was only saying 50 percent chance of rain I thought we’d still risk it and hey we can handle a couple of showers of rain or wait them out in the car but no as soon as we arrived it started raining and it had set in for good I think after an hour. We ended up pretty wet 3 caches in so made the decision to abort mission and head home....of course by Kai Iwi it had cleared up again
Quick find in the steady rain. Really cool camo. TFTC

As it was raining and wet I was made to stay on the footpath while trayc.g did the retrieve. No use is both getting soaked. Nice camo. TFTC
I spent a bit of time making a new container (same concept) and I'm pretty happy with the end result. I placed the new container at GZ and it's all ready to go.
