Not to sure if we did find or not we found a small container with a magnet inside stuck to the back of the fire white box thing but nothing else inside would love to know if that was it if not definitely going back to look again
Up and at 'em nice and early today - this was our first. We had a think, then looked in the likeliest place first and there it was! Expressed our joy on the handy musical instruments so the townsfolk were lucky they weren't there yet. Cache is all good. TFTC
Found with the cache holder.
Great to meet
We both couldn't find it however he's getting it sorted

We travelled down from National Park to Wanganui this morning, and had nothing else planned, so plenty of time to pick up caches along the way and along the river here. This is a sad ending for a fine piano, but it is truly worthy of a cache! Only one space left on the log now, TFTC
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 168th cache of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we were now heading North, had been up the West Coast of the South Island ... were now going 'round the mountain' before heading back to Auckland ... were staying the night in Wanganui ... be rude not to grab some caches on the way ... quick & easy find ... another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,902 for us.
This was a quick find, thanks for the cache. There are only a couple of blank spaces left on the log sheet.
Found at 5 January 2021 5:07 pm.
I'm on a short geocaching roadtrip to Taranaki, logging my finds as I go (where possible). Will expand when I get home. TFTC

It is disappointing that what was a unique feature in Wanganui has not survived. We recall finding a previous cache at this location, when Mrs W.E.K.A. played a tune on the piano. The new cache was a quick easy find. TFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... On a road trip weekend - We haven’t been on anything like this since Covid Episode One in March. A special Community Event in Whanganui got our attention. So we’re off to the ‘River City’ for a bit of fun...
Day Two of our adventure; the mop up - Today is dedicated to any hides we’ve missed previously, and a general tidy up of the geomap... After breakfast - a quick find as the area was reasonably quiet. Thanks jono s and TFTC.

Back in Wanganui again (from Wellington) and a few more caches I will find. This was one. Having looked for this once before, but forced to abandon due to an influx of people's, I made my way back today for a quick find exactly as described. All safe and dry here. TFTC
Great find and a cool location! Didn’t have a pen so took a photo instead. TFTC!
A cool piece of history, I remember when the piano was there. A tricky hide. TFTC
This is the Frist one like this we have found. And kicking our self as we found it 4 days ago and did not realize it was what we were looking for.
One of three caches in central Wanganui we located this morning before heading back to Wellington. It was raining at the time, meaning there were very few people about. This was a reasonably quick find. #3280. TFTC.
What a nice little cache! We never had realised the remnants of a piano without it.
Thank you for showing us and for the story behind it.

My first for the day. Lots of people around but a handy sit down if you want a coffee. TFTC
This is day 9 of our 5 week road trip in NZ from Washington State. This was one of our built in “free days” in order to rest- ha! We did just hang in town and walked along the river enjoying the beautiful day. I was very excited to meet Thomas from Germany at this cache. That’s the first time since I’ve been in NZ to meet a fellow cacher. We had a nice visit. Great story about the piano too. TFTC
On a wonderful day without any muggels but together with Shirley I was allowed to log. Before I have been on a paddlesteamer going up the river. N amazing trip.
Thank you for showing us the place nd greetings from Germany. 14:00h

This area of town is very pleasant of an evening and what better for an evening stroll than a quick cache? TFTC.
Thanks jono, interesting site. Enjoyed a walk past some old buildings, many in disrepair. Visiting my old home town however I have not lived here for over 50 years...nice to be back, tftc.

Enjoyed an evening geocaching with a bit more success then yesterday. Found 11 out of 14 caches. Quick find with the clear hint however the log if full and the cache could do with some TLC as could the piano.
During our great Journey in this lovely Country we came along at this caching site and couldn't resist. Thank you for the cache and kind regards from Switzerland, Pi7
In whanganui as part of a road trip, finally chance to find a cache. Awesome inners! No space on log sheet. Thanks for the hide.
Cache # 4,816 - a fantastic little sidetrip from our visit to the Glassworks around the corner. Quick find, logbook full. Think our initials got scribbled over someone else's, which had already faded into illegibility. TNLNSL. TFTC! Did with Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly.
Played what was left of the instrument, then found the cache. Did with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter. Thank you!

Spent a pleasant day caching in Whanganui. The forecast rain held off until late in the day which was good. My penultimate find of the day just on dusk. No problems finding the cache. The log is very full and I had trouble finding a spot to sign. TFTC
Neat little cache, couldn't find any room so I'm just gonna log myself here W.R 05/05/2018
Found it quite easily, but has trouble getting pen to write on shiny paper, see photo

What a wonderfull time. I`'m visiting NZ for 10 weeks and find a lot of beautiful places. Nice views and some pretty caches. With my wife kaari74 we log some of these caches. One of them is this one. Thanks all owners for your job.
Thanks for the cache. I have looked for this cache on two previous occasions, now I am thinking, how could I have missed it. Thanks for the cache.
Now we reached wanganui and took a short break for lunch and some caches. At the time there must have been a oldtimer meeting because we saw a lot of them and some really empressive steam machines. TFTC
FavoOn our way to Kai Iwi we took a well deserved break and visited Wanganui and some Caches. I really liked this one so it get's a favorite point.

Out and about with Miss 9 on a Mothers Day adventure yesterday. Nice easy find thanks to the hint. tftc
Loved the name and the cache. Log was difficult to get out for some reason. TFTC
On our way South we also stopped in Whanganui. First intent was the steam boat which was on its way unfortunately. So I had some spare time to look for this cache. Already during arrival at the coords I heard a piano. Great timing! The sound came from inside the house and I listened. The container was quickly spotted and whilst I logged two kids also found the old piano starting to play with. After felt 10 mins waiting I could return the container and moved away.

We walked into town and back today from the Whanganui River Top 10 Holiday Park, following the riverside and caching as we went. An enjoyable stroll with plenty to keep us amused.
A neat little hide in a busy area. Thanks for the clear hint to help with stealth. SL. TFTC.
