No luck here, we hunted around and over but no luck. Then the rain started again so off we go. Cheers
A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Arrived in New Plymouth; grabbed the rental and hit the road running - aiming for Hawera....
4 of us searched high and low but came up empty handed....could be missing, coulda missed it...onwards...

No luck today.
A bit of nasty substatance on the ground didn't put us off too much, but still no joy.
Next time.......

Had planned to grab 5 geocaches in New Plymouth today to bring my March total up to 100 for one of the Wiarapa challenges but since work finished up early and there was plenty of time for the journey home I looked for a route that took me passed a few rural caches off the main highway circuit.
After traveling one of the back roads for only find 3 of the six caches we stopped at we found ourselves back in the civilized world of Eltham.
The holy ground provided me with 1 more, just leaving 1 to go and one Eltham cache that I had failed to locate on an earlier search.
Worth a crack I thought, and once I got on site I hit the same problem I had encountered last time. Scanning the logs however I found renelm had a log that caused me to look in an area I had discounted due to the description, one glance and I spotted it.
Good to change this blue DNF into a find.
Cheers.

Down in the area for a few days visiting family and enjoying the coastal cycleway. Bike ride was completed by 10am this morning, soo gave us the day to do a circuit around and up the mountain. Clever wee hide here. SL. TFTC.
I came up to this cache from another direction than intended and came by the walls with the toys.. amazing place..
Found at 09:58 - #8346 - on a 5 week trip in New Zealand

EDITED 4 months after the find, to not give away the location of the find- despite it contradicting the cache description.

Parked up in the street and made the short walk to GZ. With a good clue, there wasn't that many places it could be so made the find fairly quickly. TFTC.
Cold wet day wandering around Eltham, interesting history here and loved the old buildings. Thanks for the cache
A straightforward find once the friendly muggle moved on. I was quite keen to explore the park across the road but was deterred by the drizzle. TFTC.

Up in the Taranaki area for work. Much like home really, but the weather rather on the hot side today. TFTC
The story was far prettier than the cache site but the park looked interesting. TFTC and the story.
We stopped by for this one on our way down to Hawera from New Plymouth; this was our day out and about exploring Taranaki (for the very first time, ever!!!). Very quiet in town today, with just a couple of locals around. It was lovely to meet up with you earlier on, and you live in a very beautiful part of NZ. Thanks for the cache 2 Bulbars.
Initially thought the cache couldn't be there because the listing said so, but Mrs Tuolei looked anyway and there it was. Not sure if that is where it supposed to be but that is where it is, so we signed the log and replaced exactly as found. Thanks for the cache, all good here.
This one had us scratching our heads then Mrs E found it many thanks Bulbars for these caches in a lovely area.
The one took some time to find. But got there in the end with some help from the clue. Tftc.
Found cache lying in the open in the grass have replaced it as close as I could to the coordinates at ground level behind light post
A little bit of confusion here, but after on last look about, the cache caught my eye! Must come and explore this park a bit more next time...gets
Parked out on the main road, and wondered my way down the alley way to here.
Today I'm On my way from New Plymouth to Taumaranui, the long way via Wanganui picking up caches on the way! A group of us are meeting up in Taumaranui tomorrow to take a jetboat down the Wanganui river! Yippee! should be cool (in both senses of the word). But first had to do a couple of hours work in HAwera, which is why I was passing through Eltham

Found After a bit of looking about and some hints from previous logs. Contradicts description. Obvious from the right angle. Tftc

On a road trip with Natril and the 2 geokids today, pretty straight forward find, the girls enjoyed the Toy Wall, they thought off all the caches all those toys could go into, tftc 2 Bulbars
kind of sad to cement childrens toys into the wall, always reminds me the mafia-flicks, but for some of them it is a way to live longer though ; anyway, we had followed both hints and found the cache straight away ;
This took a lot of walking around as the hints/description is not very helpful. After reading previous logs and eagle eyed children we managed to find it. Tftc
We managed to find all the caches in Eltham this morning. Loved then all. Nice to finish with a quick park and grab. Tftc
2nd time at the GZ. This time we managed to spot the cache. I think the description was misleading though. Tftc!
It would have been nice for the cache to be located within sight of the toy wall or else right in it.
This location has some significance to me as the nearby sports facility was the scene of one of my most memorable victories. I have to agree with W.E.K.A. that some information in the cache description is (intentionally or not) misleading.
Thanks for the hints in the logs this was quicker than if we had of hunted - tftc
It took us quite a while to find this cache, despite looking very close to the hiding place when we first arrived. We did find the cache description very misleading. No, it's not attached, but….. We then wandered down to the toy wall, which was absolutely fascinating. TFTC
there is a piece of information in the clue that's actually threw me way off. this was the second hunt for it.
Very quick find as we head home pity the cache was not in the vicinity of the toy village but thanks for the smiley and the placement otherwise we would not have seen the toy village ,signed log and replaced as found.
Took this one for a walk around the block as I thought I'd been spotted picking it up by a shopkeeper who popped out unexpectedly... Thanks for the cache - I thought the Toy Wall is awesome and hopefully the cache can be relocated there one day? TNLNSL TFTC
Found after a lot of confusion and hunting by the toy wall. The cache was in fact by the high voltage thing.
In Taranaki for the weekend and collecting a few caches along the way with tmann421.
Lots of fun had with the variety of caches in the area. TFTC

Another good find while geocaching in the area with Just-Lookin.
We soon had the cache located - quick stop for this one on the drive back to Wellington.

Again retreated back to the warmth of the car to do the formalities. Quick find and replace. TFTC
Up this way for the weekend and heading up to the Stratford Mountain House for lunch and caching on the way there and back. parked on the main street and wandered in to GZ where the cache was soon spotted. Signed log and left as found. Thanks for the placement at the historic spot 2 Bulbars.
Had briefly looked for this previously. Had a better look this time with better results. TFTC
Very quick find, car load of boys turned up and went inside the house we sat it out before replacing the cache. Tftc
After an afternoon of caching in the rain, I think it's time to head home for a hot drink. Thank you for bringing me here, great spot. Love the toy wall!
About i actually got around to logging this one with the CO permission as it had gone walk about when i visited the sight. I particularly liked the three large murals as you walk through to the GZ area. and i took photos of these which i will log also. Just didn't like the dog pooh at the area ..
thanks for the cache and another smiley face.

We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun. Thanks for placing the cache.
