Area has been burnt out and cache destroyed. I'll let the area regenerate for now and visit the idea of another cache later.

Not luck here We searched for about 30 minutes before calling it quits. The area near GZ has all been burnt.....this may be why we couldn’t find it. May need a check up from the CO.
Well the path wasn't what I expected and I didn't wear the right shoes so Was has had to go off the beaten track to locate. Tftc
Our favourite pastime is having a nice walk in the countryside. We weren't sure what we would find here as there was a tremendous storm last night but it didn't stop us coming to look for the caches around Ewen Maddock Dam. The area was very wet, with puddles across the path and also fast streams in places. There were also a couple of trees that had fallen across the path so it was a case of climbing over them or finding a way round. We walked for over 5 miles and still didn't find them all, so we will be back.
Quick, easy find. TFTC

Out walking in this part of the dam trails, collecting clues for a local puzzle, and came across this. We love a tree stump so couldn’t pass it by. All good with this hide. TFTC
A couple of medically-induced days indoors out of the wind and dust, so I was keen to ramp up a few kliks on the MTB My original plan to do the E.W.D. circuit was deferred but I came prepared to mud(dle) thru as many caches as poss As I pedalled down the main track the puddles got deeper and wider. At some point the track was impassable and so I veered onto the single trail to get uphill a bit. Any delusional thinking on my part about both the bike and me staying clean and dry went west Keeping up the momentum seemed to help with getting thru the thick mud and doable puddles and culverts. Sticking to the edge of the track and ducking branches also helped On the way back down the main track the water had dispersed and it was a comfortable pedal. Stopped to take a couple of pics from the dam wall I was praying for a cloudburst or three on the drive home, to rinse off the bike. Yup, the rains came in abundance but much of the sticky mud stayed put So hot shower and feet up with a after a muddy adventure along the lake trails. Bet it’s a spectacular trail on a dry day
An easy find at GZ due to good coords and, well, the obvious looking hide Liking Beardman’s logs about pinchy little hills... Now sporting lots of mud

Another quick find on my ewan meander today. Great size cache and spot for a photo.
Thanks konie for the cache!
Thanks konie for the cache!
I put out a call to do a little spin around the dam to clear a few caches that had popped up since my last caching visit some years back. nikid1 and Beardman expressed some interest and I had assured them it was a relatively flat track ( well except for the return journey).
Cruising along now, I was slacking off and letting the others do all the work. ( So it appears)

I would have been surprised if we arrived here to see no stump! I wasn’t surprised. Nice quick find. TFTC.
We had some mud and some pinchy little hills to negotiate from the last cache which was a bit of fun and then we were spat out on the main fire trail. We dumped the bikes and headed off the track. I went for the obvious hide and was rewarded with the cache even though the GPSr was indicating a little further. Thanks for the cache
The last day of autumn dawned with a crisp but clear morning, a great time to go ride some of the trails and clear up the unfound caches on the western side of Ewen Maddock dam, starting from the southern end and working north.
It's a great time of year to ride, with cooler weather keeping the heat bearable. The tracks were in great shape with only a little mud that was easily avoided. Plenty of other track users were passed along the way, either hiking, jogging, cycling or horse-riding. All of the caches were found, most quickly with a couple requiring a decent search before being located.
---
Log signed at 11:02 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie **Konie**. This log is trackable.

This was my 6th of 12 finds for the morning. I started early in the morning when there wasn't a soul around, but now I'm being passed quite regularly by runners and cyclists. Plenty of time to make the grab here though. Another quality container in a great spot, thanks Konie.
My muggle friend and I enjoyed the walk to find this nice cache. thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
My first find on a walk in the beautiful area. Log was damp but signable after a reach! TFTC

While camping in Landsborough for a few days with my geodog Scruffy, we just had to get out and try finding a few caches in this area.

As we started walking up the slight incline to the car park my daughter started making a few utterances about effort. She than asked me if I wanted to cash in on a Christmas present she had given me. It was a voucher for a day’s caching where she would not complain. Sh@t yeah!! Not another complaint the whole walk.
My wife found the cache but left it to me to grab. There was a chance she could get mud on her hands and apparently one of our wedding vows was to love, cherish and protect her nails.
It’s always nice to find some caches with a bit of size about them. It just means there is more mud to get on my hands. tftc

A fairly enjoyable walk down here - quite muddy in patches and did not enjoy the uphill back to the car but at least the weather was coolish today! Easy find once at GZ. Took the TB.
We saw that bikes could be brought in here and our first thought was we wished we had brought them with us. After travelling along in here for a while we were glad that we hadn’t because from all the rain there were a few mudslides in the area and a lot of uphill at times so just as well we didn’t bring the geo-bikes or we may have been pushing them more then riding them.
We had to cross over paths and then back though the bush as there was no way we were crossing that amount of water, it was like a river. A bit of tree grabbing and pulling ourselves up and around and we were back on target. We found the cache and headed further on in to walk off the eggs benny for breakfast…maybe that café was called Benny’s?
We weren’t stumped at Ewan here, it didn’t take us long to find the grab once we reached GZ…

Thursday. Mrs Slow Puncture was out with a muggle friend today at Ewen Dam to pick up some previously solved puzzles and maybe some trads.
We were thoroughly enjoying our escape today and this is such a lovely area. We were heading back to the geomobile when we diverted over to sign our name in the log book and claim another smiley. What can I say? We were enjoying the lovely finches in this little area and it appeared that they had a nest somewhere in this little bit of space as they were signing and following us around, but only in this bit of space along the track. Cache and log book are both in good condition.
This was the 4th of 5 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Konie***, for showing us this place.

After finding a nearby cache that I had targeted, I decided to grab the other caches on my return to the car.
This was the second cache here today and it was a fairly easy find once at GZ.
All is good with this cache.

Mrs Just a Trifle was out and about again for a day of caching with the lovely ladies RhoBoCacher and Wombles & CO. Today we found ourselves looking around Ewen Maddock Dam for a few caches. We had no difficulty locating the cache and adding our names to the log but when we returned to the track, we found a couple of dogs wondering what we were up to
Thank you Konie for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Out with Wombles & co and MRsJAT and this was out 12th cache for the day. This one was all in the name but which one as there was a few after a few mins we had the cache in hand as we were returning to the path we saw 2 dogs that came out of nowhere we were expecting their owner to turn up however noone appeared. Such beautiful dogs I called the owner with no answer and then they led us up the hill in the direction of our next cache however I think they went home which was on the other side of the hill. Got a message from the owner hours later thanking me for looking after them and sending them home TFTC
This one was a quick find once we found the pathway in.
After we replaced the cache we went out to the path and found 2 dogs wandering around on their own.
Rhobocacher called the number on their collars but no answer. We went on towards the next cache and the dogs vanished so hopefully they went home.

The track was not too bad .... partly paddles from the wild weather in the last 24 hours. But we were determined to get a couple of more smilies today. tftc
After that wild weather, we went out for a walk. Longer than expected because of a fallen tree blocking the street. So parked the geovehicle far away and went on. tftc
Went past this one by a few meters but came to a spot we thought was likely. Geokid look in and shouted with glee that she had now found two caches for today in a row. Very excited. We love a good walk in nature and caching gives us so many good memories to take away too. TFTC
Awesome place to mountain bike! Trying to get to this area on a motorbike is a no no due to the gravel and hills, Had to park 10 min walk away. Cache nice and easy to find TFTC! Found with Ashski92
Continuing on our adventure, this was the next cache to be found. With the guidance of the GPSr, we were soon where we needed to be.
With the information provided in the title, the area to search was quickly found. What was also found was a geocache with some pretty cool swag. I had to borrow a swap from Zooy to swap out a really cool Scout badge whilst Zooy swapped out a small Rubix Cube.
Zooy was soooooooooooooo excited about this cube and really wanted to show me how she is 'so awesome at solving them'. She played with it whilst we journeyed onto our next cache. She was only a few minutes into 'solving it' that she started breaking out the little cubes whilst working on the puzzle... Hmm, I guess we'll just have to wait and see just how awesome your Rubix skills are Zooy!
Well, it has been a long time since ZooDes got together and headed out on an adventure. We had to get the team back together and we decided that we would get out and hit up Ewen. It is surprising, as this is really the only place on the Coast that we can cache together and actually have caches that neither of us have found.
Thanks for the cache Konie. All is in good order here.

Booyah Found it!
Met up with MinkosDes today to do some long overdue caching. We weren't going home until we found 100% of our finds and luckily we found all that we had set out for!
Cache all good here. No surprises for where it was located.
I got quite excited when I discovered a miniture Rubicks cube in the loot. I swapped for something equally as cool - A souvenir from France. I had only just recently learned to solve the cube and was eager to impress MinkosDes with my geekiness.... I had solved over 2/3rds of the cube when I broke it!! BAH! I will now have to find another way to impress MinkosDes since my GPS skills have badly deteriorated over time!

Collecting the group of caches near Fords Rd. On the loop round tis was a quick find. TFTC Konie
Out and about in the area finding all of those caches I have not found on past visits.
A couple of the puzzles took awhile but I got there in the end. [^]
I started early to be this Autumn weather of 32C (forecast).
Again I enjoyed walking around a few new tracks seeing the bird life.
A quick find here after a short walk from the car.
Thanks for the cache.

Pedaled towards GZ and abandoned the bike on the side of the trail. Headed for a likely spot and yes there is a cache in there.
I spent a couple of minutes extra at GZ. I can't resist sorting a messed up cube.

I was asked by some friends to take them out for a day of Geocaching as they really enjoyed our last adventure. Today's goal was to finish what we had started at Ewen Maddock Dam.
Lucky I wasnt stumped by this cache! It was our first find today at the Dam but our fourth find overall. I removed the spider and was able to retrieve the cache.

Out for a Freaky Friday with Dutchie1950 and we are heading to Landsborough and Caloundra.
Time to take a bit of a walk. A fairly leisurely wander to GZ, and the cache was quickly in hand. TFTC, Konie.

# 1059 - Just home from the Mega in Christchurch and off I go on a Freaky Friday outing with IolantheK. No rest for the wicked!
Not far from home and on the way to our target area Caloundra and Landsborough this was on the list. Planned was a short walk. The perception of 'easy' changes over the years, so for me it was a tiny bit of workout in the heat of the day, but we got there alright. The cache itself was an easy find as well as a nice size.

Out and about this morning with Miss Geo, we were on a mission. We had targeted 4 caches to secure our 1000 finds, and this was the 2nd one
After a little stroll down the hill, Mr Garmin told us we need to do a right turn and very soon we spotted the likely hide. Miss Geo refused to put her hand in to grab the cache, so of cause I did. It was another well constructed Konie caches.
We removed the log book from the well stocked cache and signed our name in it. After replacing the cache as we found it, we continued on up the track......2 more to go!!
