Up from Melbourne and now coming to an end of a two week holiday. Visited Darwin, Kakadu & Katherine. Today was being spent at the Litchfield NP. Visited the rock holes of Buleys and was really impressed with the formations here. Unfortunately no time for a swim and every reason to make a return trip. Favourite point from me. Answers provided. TFTC
Had a great day out in the area, really enjoying the sun and the water while in the NT. Great little area.

T-Tech and I have flown up from Brisbane for a mini-holiday with family. With a few hours before our meet up time at Litchfield Park later this afternoon, we targeted a few solved puzzles.
We took the anti-clockwise route around Litchfied Park, just because, and met up with our son and his wife and two little ones at Buley Rockhole. We all enjoyed the walk down to the cascades and spent quite a while playing in the icy cold water. TFTC, and for bringing us here, Na'wal.

IolantheK and I arrived from Brisbane and organised to meet up with our Son, his wife and the Grandies. Was a bit of a hit and miss affair with phone coverage but we managed it.
Now time for a swim [^] Fantastic water, just the right temperature for a prolonged dip, beautiful but deadly slippery, even tasted OK.
Played barky boats with the Grandies

Gosh - what is going on here! This looks like the mecca for all of the trendy; nice looking; nice body shaped people!
There was hardly any room to plunge in - they were all taken and you didn't really want to move in on some of the girls that had on the skimpiest bikinis we have ever seen!
A very popular spot and we were glad that we had a dip in the river a few kms north!
Thanks Na'wal.

We were here after doing a trek in the cascades and wangi so we were pretty keen to just wallow in the water like buffalo here. Must have lazed about for an hour and a half here before casually discussing the answers and making notes. A really worthwhile place to visit and swim. TFTEC
Answers sent to the CO by our fellow travellers, beavar. Indeed a popular place on this first Sunday of school holidays. But, we still managed to find a car park, and a square foot or so of water to put our feet in at 11.20am. Time to make our way out of the Litchfield Park and continue our journey towards Katherine. #8599 TFT EC Na’wal
What a great place to come. Wanted to see a watering hole and this was a great example in NT. Lots of people around so was very busy with a lot of swimmers. TFTC and answers sent.
We are here from Melbourne to experience the wet season and thunderstorm and the humidity.
We have really enjoyed our travels this time, a great Earth Cache here.
Lots of fun exploring the area and having a well earned swim - awesome in the early morning when no-one else was around - great for photos
After a great trip around half the country, up the west coast to Darwin via Kunnunura, Katherine, an amazing two weeks in Darwin, out to Jabiru and Litchfield. Down the middle to Alice Springs then on to Millicent for the Geoventure2020 (in 2021).
We then hit the road to cross the WA border before it closed due to a few cases in SA.
Now we are home with a few of the repairs finished, it is nice to have an opportunity to catch up on logging some finds that need more information as part of the logging requirements.
A huge thank you to all the COs along our travels.

TFTEC. I visited here in June while on holidays from NSW before mayhem broke out. I’m safely tucked away in my very safe haven in the Hunter Valley now. I loved NT and especially Lichfield National Park . The rock holes at Buleys were amazing. I accidentally left my swimmers back in our caravan in Darwin. I’ll have to come back.
It was either impeccable timing or an absolute fluke that saw us manage to outrun Darwin’s first lockdown with 1.5 hours notice and complete our whole 10 day itinerary around Kakadu, Katherine, Mataranka, Edith Falls and Litchfield NP. What an epic adventure it was for two women travelling without husbands and kids. Some much needed “me time” and so fulfilling thanks to the amazing places we went.
I was happy to see another Na’wal earthcache here. I often avoid earthcaches because I don’t have time to do crazy amounts of geological research on my travels. But yours are always easily achievable and tick off what I believe to be the main reason for geocaching: being shown amazing places and having a think about their significance.
Buley Rock Holes was a really special place. Not quite hot enough for a swim at the hour of the morning that we visited, but who could resist. It was still quite busy, but there was plenty of room for everyone. Loved this spot and would love to come back one day to spend more time.

Called in for a swim and an earth cache. There are some excellent examples of ripple stone used in the path down to the rock pools. Popular place, we came back a few days later and couldn't even get a car park so left figuring there would be no room to move in the pools. TFTC.
Found with GrimRaider on our trip to Lichfield NP. What a magical spot! So lovely to stop here and have a dip in the pools and find out more about their formation. Answers have been sent to the CO.

So much different to 13 years ago when we were here. Even the water course has changed. Still beautiful but over crowded.
Answers sent. A very different visit here for me from 15 years ago (July) Was still very busy, but it was a weekend this time. LOTS of water but still managed a few photos, without seeming inappropriate. What a lovely place, wish we could have had our lunch here, but it was still early in the day. We did swim at the next stop, and wished we had extra towels as it rained (and stormed) for a lot of the day. Many thanks for this (and your other) earthcache/s Na'wal.
Thankyou for the extra information , great spot, answers sent by SMM. Photo taken looking upstream as water rushing to enter the area.
In July 2001 we traveled to Australia . We started with a three days trip from Darwin to Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks.
One of the first great things we visited was the Buleys Rockhole.
A really great spot, like many other we visited down under.
We jumped into the water and enjoyed swimming in the clear pools.
As it was in the beginning of our holidays I didn't know, that this was a very special moment, as you couldn't swim in everywere, because of crocodiles , sharks or jelly box fish on many other places.
On the photo "Signal" is me, right to my side a US - guy who was on the 3 days tour with us.

While visiting Litchfield NP, you must come here, too. Just because it's one of the "must see' destinations here. But as a matter of fact, this is a great place.
On a Saturday afternoon there were dozens of people enjoying the pools and picnics. But coming back early on Sunday morning presented a whole different experience: serene natural beauty. Such a relaxing place to be in, listen to the birds sing, watch the water rush past and just let the surroundings come to life in the morning.
This certainly turned out to be one of the highlights of the weekend! Many thanks, Na'wal, for setting up the earth cache and bringing me here!

Its been a few years since we were last here & there have been some significant upgrades to the facilities in the interim. It has been back to back dismal wet seasons, so the water is the lowest I've ever seen, but the flow remains strong, thanks to the wonderful properties of sandstone.. T4TC!!!

TFTC. Great spot. Spending time with friends. First visit to NT and enjoying it immensely
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Litchfield NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Earth-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Na'wal' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Rockholes @ Buleys' and for the smiley. The search to get the correct answers here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

Happy to be logging this on Earth Cache Day. I visited Buley with a group of students on our school camp and we came here everyday to cool off and enjoy the surroundings. Thanks Na’wal.
Great place for an Earthcache. Thanks for setting it Na'wal. Have been waiting for this day to log it after a visit with friends earlier.
At first we thought to have a swim in one of the pools. But it was a) too crowded and b) too many 1d10t5 with their loud music around. And the pool in the pic was unoccupied, but looked a bit ugly. So we quitted that plan. Anyhow, nice place. TFTC

On the road down to Katherine for a couple of days, and caches, and the scenery is awesome. Whilst down there we headed in via Litchfield and managed to snag an awesome 5 Earthcaches - yay. Also did the boat cruise, an awesome meal at the RSL and a good couple of days road trip.
We're in Darwin after our few days way out West and rather than slim pickings (geocache-wise) there's a feast of finds up for grabs. As it turned out we found a modest amount of finds and just picked at a few here and there rather than the gluttonous frenzy last time I visited in 2012. We were initially staying in the Alatai but that lasted one night before we moved to better digs on Mitchell - wise choice.
It's that time of year at last when we're heading off on a 2 week break to Australia. We're travelling in 2 distinct phases; see our son and his family in Broome for 5 nights then up to Darwin and NT for a 6 night break before heading back to NZ for Winter, brrrr. There were not many Broome caches to be found as we had visited in September 2016, but there were a couple of newbies available and a revisit to some previously enjoyed sights and sites. A great break and good to get some mid-year sun to recharge the batteries. Main focus was Earthcaches and any collateral solved/qualified for Puzzles and Challenges as well as a friendly Event in Darwin on our first night in town. A good trip all round and nice time was had.

When we were there to swim it was very hot and we were grateful for any cooling. The lower pool was very soothing and clear so next to us a young man practiced snorkeling. On a water staircase we have massaged the back with the descending water.
It was very nice there because there were few swimmers and we could try every pool, every staircase. totally relaxing

After beeing to Wangi and Florence Falls, this is our favourite place for swimming in Litchfield. Make sure you come early in the morning, before all the daily tourists arrive. We were there at 8.30 and had the pools for ourselves.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9788. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
We visited this site this afternoon and enjoyed a swim whilst answering the various questions. We've sent the owner a message via the message centre with our answers. This has been our favorite swimming spot of the trip so far. We love Buleys! This one gets a favorite point.

Another great spot. Even though I'm an expat Taswegian, now living in Victoria, the water was too cold for me. If it's not bath temperature, I won't go in past my knees.
Enjoyed watching others though. We love ECs as they teach us something about what we are seeing. Thanks again for everything.

Geo mum loves rocks and associated Earth Science lessons, which means us Geo children see a lot of them!
We are on the road for a few months so Geo mum is using that as an excuse for more Earth caches, she's using EC's as part of our school work and gets us to answer them.
Since leaving home in Victoria and coming through Central Australia we have seen A LOT of rocks, it's amazing how many landmarks are rocks and how many different types there are.
We thank the CO's that have taken us to special rocky places and to CO's who have given some variety and produced EC's that are a little out of the box, our Earth is amazing and we are very lucky to be doing hands on Earth Science ( can you tell geo mum write that bit!?)
Anyway we appreciate the effort the CO's have put in, apologies for the generic log data and time are low at the moment.
**Dad broke mums phone so some photos are unavailable until we get home in September.
