Thanks ClareValleyCaching for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10668 on 2/11/2024 at 10:44AMA plan was hatched to ride along the Riesling Trail and collect a few caches. A delightful day in the company of Cheezel and Jolly riding along and signing logs. This is a special place, very enjoyable. We also collected some others that were nearby or along the way.
I dont recall exactly but it must be about 4 months ago at an event when OZGrumpy, Jlly and I had a chat about riding the Reisling and Rattler Trails for caches.Today is the day and as the weather gods would have it, its going to be a 35deg day Cache quickly found and log stamped TFTC
Today I left home reasonably early, with my bike on the ute, to meet up with Chezle and OZGrumpy in Riverton. We left my ute in Riverton, threw my bike on Chezles chariot and headed to Clare.A big day on our bikes riding both The Riesling Trail and The Rattler Trail to find caches while enjoying some country fresh air, a bit of sunshine, get some exercise and find a couple of DNFs of mine from a previous visit. All up a fun day, even if Im going to be a bit saddle sore tomorrow TFTC ClareValleyCachingKeep smiling
A quick find for this one, and we didn't have to hike to it on a warm afternoon. TFTC
We are travelling with Pprass and have set up in Blyth where we will camp for a few days.Today we jumped on the bikes to do bits of the bike trails. Sadly we lost Mr Morris along the way when his bike suffered a catastrophic failure. Thanks for the trail ClareValleyCaching
Found at 10:56 AM in the company of The Morris.A wonderful clear and sunny day to do this series. Thanks to ClareValleyCaching
After the Clare Autumn Garden Festival, Chookster, Muggle Mum and I called in at Sevenhill to check out the building and crypt. We stopped briefly to nab this one before driving home.TFTC ClareValleyCaching
In the area for the Gardener's Market and popped by to grab a few easy caches on the way home. This was the third of 4 with naughtybunny. It was a shame we didn't have time to go explore the nearby cemetery, although we did have time to check out the amazing church and crypt nearby. A quick find as the cache was quite exposed. TNLN. Cheers.
As Easter approaches with plans to head to Capital GeoBash in Canberra - I am striving towards a very unachievable milestone. As such at every opportunity, Im am tackling powertrails or cache clusters. Currently staying in Adelaide, but had a free day up my sleeve and a babysitter available in Clare - I saw and opportunity & took it. I hired an e-bike from Reisling Trail Bike Hire who were fabulous to work with. The e-bike made easy work of the hills as I travelled along the trail collecting smileys. Additionally, today is the day I achieve my longest streak (albeit short one) & Im hoping to continue it until Easter. Thanks for the cache and maintenance.
Another early morning short walk along part of the Riesling Trail searching for any caches we pass by.Many thanks for the hide ClareValleyCaching
I was in Clare for a few days primarily to finally complete the Riesling Trail. I'd done some by walking but this trip was to clean it up.Who knew it was that hilly on the trail (I do now). Took me about 5 hours on a hot day before I gave up and went back to the caravan park for a rest.I finished what I set out to do later in the afternoon with a bit of walking. TFTC
Another beautiful spot on my solo caching day trip around the Clare and Gilbert valleys
Quick find here today.Day 17: Today we are out and about exploring the sights and tastes of the beautiful Clare Valley. Its a bit chilly today- hopefully the rain stays away. Well its holiday time again and this year we have planned a road trip East across the Nullarbor to South Australia. We will be staying in Streaky Bay, Whyalla, Hahndorf, Renmark and Clare before heading for home and making the trip west. We are looking forward to eating and drinking, exploring and visiting a swag of wonderful places. Of course it wouldnt be a holiday at all for a Geocacher without plans including a plethora of stops, deviations and distractions for all types of Geocaches. Our thanks go to all the hiders who make this game what it is. Hi ClareValleyCaching, SmplyR3dd has found your cache RT Jesuits on 21 Sep 2023 at 14:24.Logs on micro caches may be signed as SR.SmplyR3dd thanks you for placing this cache for me to find. This find brings my find count to 6362.
Travelling Australia in our caravan since February 2014.With magnificent weather forecast we were up early this morning for a 5+ km hike in the Spring Gully National Park. We were hoping to beat the heat AND the flies. great walk, really enjoyed the wildflowers, and only a few flies!Mrs Felix had a rest at her computer after lunch, whilst Mr Felix tackled some newer caches by bike on the riesling trail which we first tackled back in 2014. Once together again, we headed off in the geocruiser to tackle a few more caches to get away from the constant construction noise in the caravan park. TFTC cvc
Walking from Clare to Sevenhills and return, along the Riesling Trail. Nearly at the Sevenhills Hotel for refreshment! Tftc

Had a Valentine's Day meal at the Sevenhills Hotel, and a stroll along the Heritage Trail.
A big long weekend with the JAMS Crew (JJ52, allister w(me), mogni, Sir Spectre and tallbikestan). We road from Riverton to Stanley Flat on day 1. Then more riding near Spalding on day 2. Then finished the weekend with finding caches around the area in the car. TFTC
glad we had electric bikes for this trail.
The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) but Tallbikestan was with us instead and we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was over the october long weekend instead of the usual day trip. The taget this time was Drop into the Light a long ladder cache on the way to clare and then to clear the Rattler trail, Riesling Trail, Ne Trail saturday on the bikes and then sunday do the Mid North Channel Country bike trail. Monday on the return home was to get Peter's view a 2001 cache. Of course there was many, many other's found on route to the various target for the weekend, somewhere around 260 found by the team. It could have been more but we were not going at a flat out pace, just steady and getting a blow out on the bike 1.6 km's from the end of the Mid North Channel Country bike trail didn't help. I didn't see any snakes this trip but allister did, he saw 5. The caches this trip where written in as JAMS, i forgot the stamps. Also 1 cache was placed by the JAMS team this trip. Out of all the bike tracks i preferred the Rattler /Riesling trail. I like riding through the very rich ( after all the recent rains ) fields of yellow flowers.

The JAMS crew went on an October long weekend adventure back to Clare. We brought Tallbikestan along as we were targetting the bike tracks and he is the best rider amongst us. Allister W and sir_spectre we the other main riders, with JJ52 and I the support crew and walkers. A huge weekend of fun and adventure was had by all, until I made SS sick with my cold....oops.
Thanks to all those who have kept not just the bike tracks but all the other caches alive for us to find.
All caches signed as JAMS.
Thanks to ClareValleyCaching from mogni

#19153. Day 12. of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. After a clear cold night it was looking good for another day spent on the Riesling Trail between the Showgrounds and Penwortham then back to the Gleeson Wetlands. We gathered up some more around town after lunch betore heading back to our Caravan Park. A most enjoyable riding day.
Enjoyed reading the history board here whilst we made the find. Hope to do some of the caches further from the trail tomorrow. Needs maintenance as the log book is full.
Thanks ClareValleyCaching

Day twelve of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A mild day in Clare. We unloaded the deadly treadlies and hit the bike trails riding south to Penwortham. Then back to Clare for a few caches, some lunch, then back to base.
Interesting information about the Jesuits here.
We must come back and visit the winery here.
Thanks, Robmc.

Hired an ebike by myself for the day to zip along the trail. Very lucky to get a beautiful sunny winters day. Tftc
Another JLWE has come to an end, it all has happened far to quickly. There has been lots of social happenings and caches found. Laughter, so much laughter, Shared meals and nibbiles on the tables. We cannot waith for the next one to happen. SL TFTC

Found with FUF009 while attending the JLWE in Clare. A mixed weather day, where we just found what we could in-between rains. Tftc
Parked up at Sevenhill and made our way along the trail down to water vale for lunch finding all the caches along the way, beautiful trail and quite easy to ride along dodgy the muggles, all but one cache found that we stopped at.
Off to Clare for an overnight trip mainly focusing on getting the bikes out for a spin and hitting the rail trails for some adventure and indulging in the local wine culture, whilst finding some caches along the way. A lovely weekend away dodging the weather. Total of 91 finds for the 2 days.
Thanks for the cache

Hats off to the Jesuit philanthropy. Fifth day in SA and The Riesling Trail was high on the list along with a few other random caches. Hope to tick all boxes before heading to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
It is very pleasant riding the trail and looking for caches. Thank you.
Book is full.

Found, tin has no lid, gave it a new tin. Log will need replacing fairly shortly too. TFTC
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.
(HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

After scoring a FTF at Koolunga headed to Clare to get some more done of the railtrail caches. Managed to finish the N.E.series but at sunset was still 13 short of finishing the RT series.
Thanks to cvc for putting out this cache for me to find

Had to leave this one earlier on our walk as the muggles on their bikes kept stopping to read the sign we wanted to read!
At last, some peace and quiet on the bike track and the cache was ours. No guardians today.

A nice trail of caches.... still need to walk much further to work off the bakery stop
Time for another cache on a riding train. (The Fish begged to do them all, but the girls restricted themselves to just this one.)
Doctor Owl was going to be in Balaklava today and she asked if sushilord and I would like to come up and meet her to do some caching around the area. It was a lovely day for a drive and we met her for coffee in Balaklava then headed to Auburn, Saddleworth, Mintaro, Sevenhill and Spring Gully before ending up back in Balaklava. [^]
We had a fun day driving on some interesting dirt roads and tracks thankful that it wasn't wet. All but one of the caches we looked for were found and we broke the day up with a great lunch at the Saddleworth Pub. All in all a great day caching.
We were driving right past this one so we stopped to make the find.
Thanks for the cache cvc.

Found old mate tucked up in the logbook! Scared about 5 years off me! I let him go to a safer place. Tftc
Had a great day cycling up and down the Riesling Trail, though my legs and hind quarters have a different opinion! Grabbed loads of caches and had a lovely pit stop at the beautiful Crabtree winery in Watervale (no food, but very tasty Riesling!). TFTC
This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to the Clare Valley for a bit of wine tasting and cycling the Riesling Trail. We were treated to great sunny weather, and nice to have been visiting the wine region.
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with a geocaching event breakfast and a few geocaches around the town of Clare. We then proceeded south riding our bikes along the Riesling Trail. We made a few uphill detours either side of the valley to *Pallet Wines* and *Jeanneret Wines and Clare Valley Brewing Co* respectively, which certainly tired us out. A final stop at *Tim Adams Wines*, before completing the northern section of the Riesling Trail towards Barinia.
Another geocache find along the Riesling Trail today. This one took way longer to find than it should have, as we had trouble with the coordinates bouncing around, and checking other places than considering the name of this cache. I did feel still that the coordinates were slightly out. The cache container doesn't have any lid, but the logbook was in good shape. Thanks Clare Valley Cachers (cvc) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.
