Travelling from Cromwell to Ashburton today and collecting a few caches and ALs along the way. Saw some amazing scenery and ventured along some great roads. Thanks to the COs for placing the caches for us to find.
We started our beautiful journey through the South Island in Christchurch. Here we went on a big sightseeing tour and visited lots of caches. We then travelled via Lake Tapeko, Dansey Pass and Moeraki to Dunedin for the MEGA event. In Dunedin we visited the MEGA events and together with many other cachers we found many caches around Dunedin. A few days later, we travelled on through the Catlins to the southernmost part of Bluff. We then visited Te Anau and the tourist town of Queenstown. In Wanaka we went on another sightseeing tour until we reached the west coast via the Haast Pass. We hiked to Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier. We continued along the west coast up to Westport, stopping at various sights along the way. Richmond and Nelson, the sunniest cities, were also on our list.A few days later we reached the east coast again in the wine region of Picton and Blenheim. After a few days, we travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura. We visited many geological sites, completed many adventure cahes and found many caches along the way.We travelled almost 3500 km and had so many great experiences. Many thanks to all the ownersTeam sissifalke
Dieser Cache konnte heute erfolgreich geloggt werden.Danke an den owner fr's legen und pflegen TFTC Schmerzbefreit
Have been staying down the road from this cache for decades, so cool to have one nearby. When I saw it on the map I knew it was a must!
On a road trip around central South Island and grabbing caches on the way through. There is a lot of scenery along this highway, I have never travelled it before. TFTC.
Good to avenge a dnf here! Found after a short search. TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
Day 2 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Christchurch to Twizel, we also visited this traditional cache, searched the box, found it, and signed the logbook.

On our drive from Lake Tekapo to Christchurch we took the roadside caches with us. We were able to find this one quite well.

Lovely spot for a cache but we couldn’t log as it’s a bit damp. Out travelling the South Island with jobsjm and masontribe.
Nearly didn't find it as thought it was rubbish and paper was icky so didn't note our find on it.
Tftc. Not the regular size I'm use to finding. Log is wet and no room to write but found
Definitely not 'large' - a quick find as I tried to keep safe and out of the way of the fast moving traffic.
Loving these drive bys with rebel98 slight backtrack, but was soon found, thanks for the hide
Great parking here, have driven passed here many times & decided we needed to stop!!! TFTC
Heading home from a family day trip to Farlie and stopped by here on the way home. Thanks.
One of 17 caches located today whilst travelling from Geraldine to Lake Ruataniwha (near Twizel). This one was a reasonably quick find. #4803. TFTC.
We've been here before and I raced off to look where I expected it to be then looked at gps. Oh, back where we parked! Thanks for the placement BCD
Finally a chance to remove a blue spot from the caching map. Smiled when we saw the cache colour. As we said years ago, the name is a mystery to us.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A quick easy find, although the interpretation of the cache title eludes us. TFTC
We finally managed to get away for a week’s holiday after months of lock downs and cancellations to various trips and flights. After landing in Christchurch we headed to Mount Cook to spend a few days exploring the area, doing a few walks and enjoying the dark sky star gazing, as well as exploring lakes and small towns of the Mackenzie country. We also found lots of geocaches which we enjoyed finding. Thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place and maintain these caches. TFTC!
Heading towards Mt Mary to drop off some test equipment to some of the team, I stopped here and made the find. No issues here!
TFTC BrownscacheDiversBCD, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 5 today, making this find #3022

Found a spot to park and walk to this cache. Thanks for putting a cache here BCD.
First find of the day on StreetWalkerNZ's and my Waitangi weekend to Kurow and environs. Yes, we drove from Christchurch to here without stopping for a cache (but did stop for a coffee in Ashburton and a pie in Fairlie as an army marches on its stomach ).
We DNFed this cache last year, and SW noticed that it had recently been replaced, so it was added to "the list". My GPsr was still in start up mode, so had to follow SW's lead. After not finding it in the initial search place, his GPsr changed its mind and took him to another location where the cache was soon spotted. Thanks for replacing and TFTC.

#19260. We were heading for a pie stop in Fairlie, and had yet to stop for a cache. I saw this one had been replaced since our DNF last year, so of course we had to stop to try to set a DNF to rights. We found a "driveway" to park across, and crossed the road to GZ. I was attracted to what seemed the most obvious location, but had no luck there, and then noticed my GPSr was pointing elsewhere (also it didn't help I was looking for a regular, and the replacement cache was an eclipse tin). Quick find once I followed my GPSr to the right place. TFTC.

Another BCD frown today . None of the tussocks at our GZ were within reach, so moved along a little to where the tussocks were a bit closer (but still only reachable with my walking pole). Had a prod but no luck.
With kiwitien and reshamfiriri. Pity the rusty steel sculptures are hard to see against the dark green of the trees behind. TFTC
We have driven past here many times, always meaning to stop, so today was the day.
+ a marble, - nothing.

A great excuse to stop and study the steel structure close up, normally just wizz pass. TFTC
Rather screeched to a halt here! Safely though. A wade through the very long grass and the cache was ours. TFTC
Today's challenge was to cross the road, so much fast traffic. The container was quickly found. TFTC
Out and about on bike.. blasted past many times, today, we stop and find a cache. Thanks.. oh and took trackable.
Straight forward drive by... I must be getting old I remember the area being planted
Found while driving from Christchurch to Wanaka and finding caches along the way that I have not found before. It has been a while since I last cleared out the caches along this route and so I was pleased to find this one. Cheers for the hide!
Quick find . TFTC
On a road trip to see my grandchildren and join one grandson for his 4th birthday tomorrow.

On a road trip south, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

Day 3 of a 4 day road trip. My mission on this trip was to travel South and West and then East and North. This road trip was all about the numbers but not quite in the usual way. In fact it was hours and hours spent on the road in search of minutes (and caches). I'm filling in gaps in my 'minutes' found across New Zealand in order to complete the 400 minutes challenge for the cache GC7YQZ8 - at the start of this trip I had a 52 minute gap to fill. All good here. TFTC, Biggles.
Taking Aussie Pete to the airport. Had to do a few caches on the way to finish of the holiday. This was my 1000 find. Only time in the day that we got our feet wet due to the overnight rain

Found with nissan 65. Flew in from sydney for a short holiday. Hoping to see as much as i can on the south island and pick up caches along the way . Thanku for the cache.
Cache was out in the open, and about 8 to 10 m out on the GPS. Signed the log and moved it closer to the correct co-ords. Tucked it under a tussock with a rock to keep it in place. TFTC
We found a number of caches on this trip - thanks to all the hiders for there hides. Trying to get these all logged.

jusy out on a non specific drive no trouble turning this one from a frown to a smile today last time I looked this one was submerged beneath a pond of ice TFTC Mr BCD
Quick find as it had to be. Found a spot to pull over just east of the cache. Lots of traffic. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25. Find # 1721
Auf unserer Fahrt von Christchurch nach Lake Tekapo nahmen wir die Caches am Wegesrand mit. Diesen konnten wir gut finden. Danke fürs Legen und Pflegen.
Nearly no bad weather during our whole holyday, only yesterday at Mount Cook the clouds started coming in. So it did not bother neither mmmmike nor me, that we have today, on our longest drive quite rainy weather. The only thing is, that the wet stuff makes a pretty cloudy atmosphere inside the car...
So, once in a while, a stop along the street was a good idea.
We started here. Was good to find.
Thanks for hiding the box.

Heading Christchurch after overnight in in Omarama.
Found a safe place to stop further onto T. D. and walked back.
Quick find, thanks for replacing. It sure looks as though there was volumes of water through. Those flax on the other side are still mud covered to a reasonable height.
Thanks for the smilie BrownscacheDiversBCD.

A quick stop here after visiting Opuha Dam. Found the right spot and after a bit of a stretch reached the cache which was nice and dry in its hiding place. TFTC
Not sure why I didn't find previously but found it today as I was headed to a Girl Guide training in Queenstown that was also as an escape after my mothers funeral yesterday.
17 Oct. Doesn't appear to be here but didn't look for too long before moving on - places to be caches to find.

Looks like this one has floated away so have replaced.
Reach through and feel the tussock at the stoney post

No success here. Checked a likely spot for a regular - but now see it has a smaller replacement. We still think we would hae found that.
