I spent one day here by the river after I came from Tararua Range. I was so happy to see flowers and blooming trees again and green grass. My friend James wanted to see the place where the movie Lord of the rings was filmed - Rivendell - and he helped to look for some caches as well. Thank you for the nice cache.
Found this one with TTO1 and TTO2 today. TTO1 and I are touring New Zealand with TTO2 for a couple of weeks and our travels brought us by this cache. So, we just had to stop and find it. I really enjoyed the loop hike around this area. Were really enjoying our visit and have been exploring lots of cool spots. Im sure that we will still have a lot that we didnt get to see on this trip, so I look forward to coming back again some time to see some more of this beautiful country. Thanks for the fun!
We were exploring a few of the trails around this park and headed up this road after walking the nearby river trail. Its a shame that the swing bridge track is partially closed for so long but we walked the first section of it until we arrived at the gate where we could see a lot of construction was taking place, good things take time.We found it odd that there were no caches along the first section trail at all but were pleased to see this side of the water had a few.We used the well placed seat to have a rest and soon located the cache.Nice hiding spot.TFTC.
Cache replaced, same place, same type of container as before, new log and trade items. Hopefully it can carry on for lots more years now.
On a walk after overnight camping in the nearby campsite. Slightly unpredictable weather but still a lovely experience. Quick find by my daughter. TFTC
Found this on a walk around the Kaitoke road end. Magnificent bush, a sunny day, a magic place to visit. TFTC
Travelling down to Wellington via Cape Palliser for the second week of school holidays. Stayed in Featherston last night and just headed over the Rimutaka hills. This is a great place to stop, lots of walks and even a swim hole for the brave! Quick find, nice spot nearby to sit and sign the log. TFTC
On a weekend camp with Tawa Scouts, took short walk on the Sunday morning and found a few caches.
Bonus bush walk returning from camping in the Wairarapa. Fantastic tree!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Another awesome tree at Kaitoke to visit along our way. Left our calling card. Cheers and another fav. I love trees. Just had to have a hug.Plans for today have changed so Im free to wander. Contacted The Seagnoid to see whats up. So its Kaitoke for a walk and man its hot. The tree shade helped some. A great afternoon.
I always wonder why this insistence on hiding caches behind trees - Sometimes in front is just as good. Love these big trees!
Man, it's hot. The forecast said 24 degrees, but I think 28 degrees is more like. So when Taybeedragon said we should go geocaching for the afternoon I looked for somewhere shady. Rivendell! A lot of others thought the same - there where heaps of people swimming in the river, loads of people walking the tracks. Not surprising - it is a seriously beautiful place here.

We decided to have a few days in Wellywood. Largely to start knocking off some of the ACoIaF series, but also to enjoy a bit of a break and go camping .
A nice easy stroll to GZ. The cache was clearly visible as I approached, so when I returned it, I covered it with a little ground cover.
Thanks for putting this here for me to find

Found with Piwaka54. What an awesome specimen!!!!! Lord of the Rings brought us here but the trees kept us here! Thanks so much Barnaby’s Travels.
Another great find. Thanks for all these caches. They're keeping me walking further than I would have done on an overcast day.
Turning left and going on down the track to this great specimen. There is a school connection with Rata for me, but I had no idea about its growth habits before. Thanks for the enlightenment! Fav point for teaching me something new, which I appreciate. Found with Dragonapril (now HidingDragon)
Another quick find by youngest son. Sat at the handy log-signing seat to sign the log and to eat some chocolate! Only had time to find a couple of caches here today but I know we will be back at some point as it's such a lovely place. All is well with the cache. TFTC
In Petone for a ten pin bowling tournament, lovely day for an afternoon drive up to Rivendell for a adventure lab and some caches in this area. Thanks BarnabysTravels for the cache.
Kids were complaining that I found the caches too quickly so I left them to it for a few minutes. They couldn’t find it. Somehow I managed to walk straight up to the hide. Another great spot on the trail, TFTC
The sixth cache on our first walk around Kaitoke, absolutely lovely walk and a picnic at the end. TFTC
Lovely spot with a seat to log the cache from too!
Can't wait to bring the Guides up here to go hunting

(# 5716). A trip to Kaitoke Regional Park primarily to get one leg of the LoR adventure lab. While here I decided to grab the caches on this loop track. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
