A nice quick find here today. A new log is needed and unfortunately didnt have any spare paper on us. Tftc
Day 8 on our holiday in New Zealand. Today our tour is going from Punakaiki to Nelson. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.

My middle of the week, day off. This time, on Bumblebee again, I headed West to gather 14 off one of my larger lists. This was the fourteenth and last. I took the long way in and short way out. Easy find.
Nice quick find on our travels, thanks for the placement, so glad the rain never came.
Yip. Unfortunately I have seen plenty of those Black things laying around. Tftc
There was a nice bit of weather this week, so I decided on a trip to Greymouth. I had plenty of time on my schedule since this would have been when I was going to the Mega.
Somebody dumped a pile a rubbish near GZ, so I had to scoot around to avoid it. TFTC.

I guess the black thing was near the cache spot. Had me wondering if the gps was confused.
Have usually whizzed past this one. Stopped today. Took a couple of mins to locate. Tftc
*Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!*
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
Weather turned worse again with quite a few showers of rain.

Not the easiest one to find! I remember driving past a few times, but today I decided to stop on the main road and investigate. Took some exploration through the vegetation to locate! TFTC!!

Heading south for a break from work after the summer rush. Being one of our dot days for finds we made an early stop on our travels. A quick find Thanks For The Cache.
Found on our way heading south for a short break - It was a dot day so we had an early morning stretch of the legs to find this cache Thanks for the cache - Realised this evening that I had been putting the wrong date on the cache log sheets (20th) sorry !!
Out touring NZ with my friend Andrea in a camper van made our first find in this country!!
Make my wall back down to oamaru, from Blemhiem, taking the long way of coruse grabbing the odd cache here an there. Many thanks to all the cache placers. -Bitsprayer
Day 5 and last day of Nosynel's and my geotrip through the Molesworth and back through the Lewis. Nice to have my son's Toyota Hilux for this adventure. Today we are heading to Christchurch after staying the night in St Arnaud. Thanks for the cache. Not a very savoury environment at the moment.
The big Molesworth circuit is in progress. Today is day four of Jude _E and my geotour, our final day. Thanks to her kind son we have use of a Toyota Hilux, extremely helpful indeed. We stayed a night at St Arnaud last night.
There was no real goal for today apart from to get back in one piece and find some geocaches.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

22223 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we went from Greymouth to Nelson, via Punkaiki and we had all day, so we made many stops. Allong the road we found many caches, but we also visited the Pancaces and Windholes. The caches brought us to many special remarkable places.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Muggles did not watch what we were doing.

Used some black stuff to put some marks on some white stuff. Onwards, time to get back on the black topped thing. Cheers
We parked on the road as we missed the turnoff to the cache, which was obvious once we were down there. But fears of twisted ankles never eventuated on our scramble down, and it took us a good 5 minutes to locate this one. Still not sure of what the green or black things are, but we found this one and all is good. Thanks Hazedarus.
Today was day one of 7 on a trip around the South Island for Jo and I, and the first leg is Blenheim to Hokitika. An early start and on our road trip we targeted caches after St Arnaud. That was the desired plan, but necessitated by the fact it was still dark as we drove through there anyway. After that it was pretty much find anything on our side of the road as we drove west, but as we moved on we set goals to be in certain towns by certain times, so skipped large chunks. The weather changed from light drizzle to full on rain, which also scuppered some plans on targeted caches and left us cold and wet for most of the trip.
But all up a good day.
Jo used to live in these parts, but hasn’t been here for about 16 years; for me it has been about 13 since a trip down here. So we enjoyed the scenery, and the changes, and also the caches so credit and thanks to all the COs for maintaining these.

Quick find. Thanks for the cache, I am amazed at how many of these relatively obscure river access points there are, I have been driving this road for 35 years and never noticed this one
Last day of our holidays, & we're picking up a few caches as we head for the ferry in Picton.
We pulled up & wondered what the title referred to, but a bit of a walk in the long wet grass soon revealed all.
We left a pet rock - a mouse. Thanks for putting this here hazedarus.

I do wish people would learn how to go to toilet in the bush, and bury their waste. Cache all good, though the reserve has seen better times. Cheers.
Exploring around Motueka and points southish on the way home today. There are a few caches around here, and are quite sparse between Kawatiri Junction and well Leithfield beach!!
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Man my GPS/Smart Phone was just not zeroing in on this one at all. Did just fine down the road though.
Too bad people are not using the outhouse provided near the cache.
Luckily my son in law was having better luck and made the find while I was spinning in circles. TFTC DICTAHAM AND CLAN

Beautiful river but the cache surroundings are not very pleasant. Seems the "restroom" is full and folks are using the grounds instead.

Found with NZDi. When NZDi asked what geocaching plans I had made for the weekend last night, I admitted I hadn't made any because the weather looked like it was going to be s#!t. She said it can't be s#!t everywhere, so I started looking at the weather forecast. Nelson looked pretty good, but we have been across there about three times in the past two months so that didn't hold any attraction. So I checked out the Nelson Lakes and they looked pretty good also, and as they are one of my favourite places in the Top of the South, I started working on a plan for the day.
The plan was to do the Lake Rotoroa side of the Porika Track as we had done the Howard Valley side late last year, then do the Braeburn Loop Track, then a few unfound between Lake Rotoroa and St Arnaud and finally check on some previous DNF's on the road between the Lake and Blenheim. Altogether we had a successful day with all targets met, 32 finds, no DNF's and a bonus FTF. The only hiccup of the day was logging the caches up to half way around the Braeburn Loop Track as the 16th of October, in stead of the 15th, an honest mistake and one which I wasn't the only person to make today.
Having achieved the first two parts of today's mission, it was now time to start heading home, picking up a few PnGs between the two Lakes (Rotoroa and Rotoiti). In most cases NZDi stayed in the car while I walked from the safe car park to the cache and made the find. On the odd occasion when I was taking too long, she would come and assist.
We took the low approach to this one and parked the car a little further back up the track and walked the last 100m or so. Once we saw the terrain near GZ, NZDi went back and got the car as there was a better turning option here, while I searched for the cache. Not having come across the 'green thing' yet, I wasn't sure what the 'black thing' was, but if it was the structure that previous loggers have called a 'facility', then I did find it. I also found the cache nearby although the size of the hint item surprised me.

We had bypassed this on the last trip past as it was both dark and on the wrong side of the road. Not really raining and on the best side today so we used the loop to get close. Spotted the Black thing but also where the GPS was pointing. Then spotted the cache. Our first for the day on a trip to Karamea.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A long weekend proved to be just what it said on the tin; a weekend that was long. With mrs capperz trapped in work for 2 of the 3 days this weekend a plan was made to head over to the West Coast for some caching, with the added bonus of some fine weather too. Forecast was for clear skies and low 4, high of 15 degrees, which is some preferred caching weather. Also in possession of a geocaching map of Westport being virgin territory there was every chance of finding a 'few'.
A slight chance of one of 2 FTFs in Westport and the bait was dangled and too good to not take a swipe at. Headed off at 0830 on Sunday and got back around 1830 on Monday so a full on couple of days with park n grabs, beachside specials and a walk along the Cape Foulwind walkway (there wasn't any wind, and it wasn't foul so thinking of renaming it Cape Nicesun.
Anyway, started off here and the first on our route. Parked on high and scrambled down dirtying my daughters light blue jeans (not the best caching attire, it's true) Braved the spikes and made the find

Another stop as we were travelling from Motueka to Christchurch. Thanks for the cache.
Alas I had no idea what the black thing was (cache attribute should give a hint but don't). Wish I had known just two minutes before I got to the cache! Luckily I stopped the car there, much further and I am not sure that the wheels would have touched the ground.
Found on the way to Nelson from Blenheim, a bit of a family get together happening. It's Friday night and I need a couple of caches today, to get my calendar up to three, so I stopped at Kawatiri for the night.

Never did make it to the green thing first time round so glad to tick this one off finally. Last cache on a brilliant few days out in the country on a caching adventure. TFTC #8288
Many mossies and sandflies here this evening. Thankfully it was a quick find. Shame about the person who didn't use the black thing so be a wee bit careful about where you search. Tftc
After some planning Shannonp1 and I got sorted for a mission into areas we hadn't been. Up to Hanmer through the Molesworth to Blenheim, down the Wairau valley to St Arnaud down the Shannandoa to Murchison and then home via the Lewis. 209 caches for the weekend and a pretty high success rate. Thanks to all the cache owners especially Bum and Worker and sorry for the cut and paste.

Thanks to all the cache owners and sorry for the cut and paste. Cheers.
I was needing to go but will save it. Cache found by Justanurse after I failed too. Tftc
Out caching kiwi-style with Sidewaze and Libitee. Moving fast to Westport we picked this up along the way. Nice photo of the black thing to go with our photo of a green thing in another place. Thanks for the cache.
Well, that was a bit of a surprise. You never know what you'll find hidden amongst the undergrowth. TFTC .
Found after a few stumbles while the signal settled. You'd have to be pretty desperate to use the facilities nearby I reckon! TFTC (2623)
Going for a wee drive to Westport today to see what this seasons whitebait would taste like.
One of our team even tested out the facilities here. They met with her approval
A nice wee drive in and then surprised how close to the road we were.
Spotted immediately but it tested my flexibility or lack thereof to retrieve it.

Out on a caching road trip with Kiwi Explorer to find a few caches. This was the first one I found today. Mr KE had already found it so, once I'd found my way in to GZ and parked, he stood back and watched. Found the cache easy enough once I got at the right angle. TFTC, Biggles.
Found en route from Richmond to Rangiora on a fine spring morning.
We parked at the northern end of the side "road", where there was good off road parking and walked the rest of the way (less than 200m) while scoffing some food bought at the Wakefield Bakery. The car could have handled the road OK, but StreetWalker couldn't have handled the scratches that the encroaching bushes would have inflicted on the car's paintwork.
We wondered if we had found cache here before as the big rock we walked past looked kind of familiar. Once we reached GZ, we spotted a small black thing and headed (with difficulty) towards it, only to find the cache was a little further away, but easier to access . Then we saw the actual "black thing" but didn't investigate further. TFTC.

#10051. It was good to stretch the legs, and get some nice river views. While walking along the road, a 4WD came the other way, and we gave way to it. At GZ it proved to be tricky to find a good route to where the cache was. TFTC.
Saw the thing in passing, grabbed GPS...oh, U turn required.
I have used the green thing in the past, can't see me using this black one.
Cheers for the fun and cache.
