Today was another day combined with work and caching. Stayed in Rotorua for night and picked up the Squirrel on the way.
First to Putaruru then out to south of Pirongia. Bit of good planning with 2 caches a bit further up the road.
Also needed to go to Karaka on our way to Auckland for a couple of events, but with traffic issues we dodged Karaka we went to our first event on the list and arrived about 30 minutes after it started......
Rest of the day was a bit here and there collecting caches.
This had a few dnf's but we found it. Cunning camo. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... It's International Geocaching Day. We have a mixed day of jobs and caching up and down the country...
We got away from home early so that Gap could clear some work. We blew through jobs in Putaruru and Pirongia. Then it was time to head northward to catch some events... Traffic on the Southern Motorway was hideous. We managed to catch up with ABCDF4 and eyespyben, and Team H (Huntly) R (Rotorua) P (Papamoa) got into action...
On the Panmure Basin Walk... Wow! What a very cunning hide... We were put off by the many DNFs, but persisted anyway. Something wasn’t quite right... TFTC.

I'm up in Auckland for one of my regular visits, and with having the next week off work I am looking to break my longest streak for finds as well as push through and gain my 500th Cache whilst I'm here.
Today is day 5 of my current streak, and I managed to get a couple of hours of free time to go caching courtesy of my other half needed to go into work to sort a few things out, so what better excuse than to drop her off and go and grab a few quick ones if I could.
I have been meaning to get a chance to walk around the Panmure Basin, seeing as it's only really a 5 minute drive from where I will shortly be living, and today was the day. Having just driven from Sylvia Park via an entrance I'm not familiar with, I found myself right by this access point to the basin so I thought "why not?"
This one turned out to be my sixth DNF in a row of this series. Everything seemed straightforward enough. The coordinates led me to a place where everything felt right, and matched the Hint. However, by this time my levels of enthusiasm were waning so after searching around for 3 or 4 minutes I decided to flag this for another day.

Third time lucky... including a totally and completely oblivious jogger who snuck up on us but didn't even turn her head as she went past.
That is absolutely awesome Camo. Certainly does blend well! And that clue makes a lot of sense now .

Down in Auckland for a while, so out to look for a couple more today. This one was reasonably close to where we were staying and because of the number of favourites, was definite on the list to do. Headed off reasonably early and after finding the newly replaced number 4, continued on to this one.
Near GZ, some muggles were playing, but once they had moved on, the search started. Using the good hint and thinking about why it would have so many favourite points, it didn't take too long to discover the cleverly concealed cache and then sign the new log and replace, unseen by anyone else. A fave from me too. TFTC

Definitely my favourite one of the series so far. Love the camo. Gets a favourite point. Thanks!
Ron and I decided to walk around the Panmure Basin this afternoon. This was our fourth cache along the way. I really enjoyed this one. The camo made me smile. Gets a FP from me.
This cache is a bit damp and needs drying out. I did the best I could before I had to move on.
Thank you

I found this one a while ago when I didn't have a pen but now I can officially log it. Oh the delight when I found it! So sneaky. I would award a fav but alas I don't have any to give right now.

Off to Auckland for a few days!! - It was about time I visited a hole bunch of friends here - took baby for her first flight outside of the womb, and showed hubby off a bit more of the sights around Auckland! Plus we had some airpoints, and accommodation sorted, so made for a lovely holiday!!
Caching was definitely not the main purpose of the trip, but we did find a few while at it!
I've done a few of the caches around here before, and today after church in the area, me, hubby, a friend, and the baby went for a walk around while waiting for another friend to finish her shift at work.
Lovely walk, lovely weather, and a sleepy baby - perfect!
TFTC!!

Was here very recently and back at home checked Google maps with the location code which gave me a much better idea where to look after my GPS problems last time. Located it almost straight away today and I have found a very similar cache previously. TFTC
At the Basin today and have been making my way around finding some of the caches in this series. GPS was being silly and wouldn't settle. Looked for a bit unsuccessfully. Will be back.
It's time to begin the Baker's Dozen series. Again, I really spent way too Long at this cache.... and shame on me, too, it is a cache camouflage that I have seen before, and I should have recognised it. Well, sometimes you miss the trees for the forest, or is it the other way round? TFTC!
Finally on the 5th attempt we found it. Miss Davieland's eagle eyes spotted it. Great camo! TFTC.
Reread the clues and previous logs and searched a bit harder and quickly had cache in hand. Excellent camo. TFTC
This is my second attempt (one year later) trying to locate this cache. Today, it all seemed easy enough. Good little hide. TFTC
3,5 weeks caching in Australia and New Zealand - what a life-time experience.
Thanks to all the owners to show me place I would not have found with travel books.

I
I dropped Ms M off for four hours and set off on a caching mission.
My first chapter was to walk around the basin to collect the Baker's caches and the Earth Cache.
Nice day for a walk. Most enjoyable.
Excellent camo. It had me thoughtfully scratching my head for a wee while.

I enjoyed a nice walk around the Pamure Basin this afternoon and found the odd cache along the way. That was pretty tricky, I was just about to move on when I spotted it. Most enjoyable. Cheers and TFTC
Back in Tamaki Makaurau again for a few days so decided to cache out this circular walk around Panmure Basin. Spent my time dodging showers and muggles in equal measure. Interesting stroll. Thank you for setting the circuit.
Spotted a slight anomaly and soon had this one to hand. MPLC

This one had me fooled for a while. I stood there looking at it for a while thinking I had better move on then I realised I was looking straight at it. TFTC
All the reading about sweets meant the sign for Waipuna high tea sounded very fine and just at lunch time. We headed in but bookings must be made 24 hours in advance. We'll plan another trip! So we're carrying on. NINO TFTC
Geowife was the one to find this one, very nice camo, well done. Signed the log and off to our last baker's dozen of the day. TFTC.
Very pleased to finally find this one after a DNF on our last visit. Very clever camo, never seen one like this before TFTC
Came back tonight with hari and made a quick find... having already found it the night before. Now off to find more...

We were here yesterday, but unfortunately we didn't have a pen, so decided to come back today and to cover the basin a much as possible. found this one after a little bush bashing . tftc

Headed here with hari tonight and found it but realised we had no pen so could not log it so left it and decided to come back again.
FInally!!! 4th attempt and with little light managed to finally track this one down.
Caching with rebel98, we started at this one, as we parked nearby. It seemed to be the most tricky of the series to find, (after we had a read through the logs), and seemed to struggle to find the elusive cache. After a few more minutes past us by, rebel spotted the hide, and then it seemed all so obvious.
Thanks for the hide and the adventure

Took a bit longer but dad spotted something that looked odd whilst kids took shelter from the rain
Made our way down to this one, I had missed this one last time. A bit of rain came down while looking, but we hung in there.
Mrs spotted it, very clever
TFTC, nice series

Out geocaching with a few muggle members of our family (their first time caching.) The trickiest cache on this trail. Such clever camo - not something we have come across before and didn't think to check in that place as it seemed so unlikely a cache would be in there! Found eventually by one of my muggle companions! TFTC + a fav point from us!
Nice to return and put this boogie to bed, new coordinates must have made a difference as I was almost straight on to it.

I was pretty sure I knew what to look for, just not sure where to look first. No worries. Thanks.
We almost gave up on this one, but then Mrs Hui spotted it. Pretty good camouflage! TFTC. Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii.
Spent a long time looking in the wrong spot but as soon as we moved we saw it. Very cool camo, feeling inspired to lay some of our own caches now tftc, theGLS
This clever hide had us head scratching while my ever patient muggle mum looks after 4 of our dogs. A fp from me. tftc
We took a little longer searching for this one until Pazza noticed something a little different. Nice camo!
Sat on the grass looking, looking, looking! Had some idea what kind of thing to look for maybe, but still missed it! Ditto what the others said..."very cool camo"
Tftc - loved this series

We decided to head north for the day and meet up with our old Geobuddies Steed&Peel for an afternoon walk around the basin to grab some Geocaches. My wife got out some snacks and our two boys refueled while Steed&Peel and I conducted the search. It took a minute or two to spot, but I noticed something not quite right and pulled the well camoed container from its hiding spot. Probably my favorite hide of the series.
Good hide. Had 5 of us searching for a while and as usual it was overlooked at first. Tftc.
Gps was spot on.
Gps was spot on.
Tftc. Out with my son & his family today. Waited till late afternoon as it was so hot earlier. GPS had us bang on the cache. It was so well disguised that we missed it a couple of times. Gets a fav point from me.
Well, at first I was a bit off where GPS said it was, after a fruitless search, and nothing looking out of place, I widened my search, and spotted it quickly !, went and sat on seat near tree for a bit of lunch, Then it was a detour to head off to the puzzle I solved, as forgot to detour a few caches back, as I didn't realize how far I was already around the basin, TFTC
Finally I have found the last of the Baker's Dozen caches so I can go for the bonus. This one eluded me previously and I was just about to gve up again when my 5 year old said "have you tried in here?", so I said "of course Mummy has looked in here" to which I went to show him it wasn't there and, sure enough, there it was.... doh, I'm sure it wasn't there when I looked 5 minutes before lol! TFTC, cool camo!
#1626. This one proved to be one of the hardest caches to find on the circuit. As the GZ was very exposed I took the time to read the description fully plus read the hint. Well that didn't seem too bad. So slowly circled around looking for something a bit different. After 2 full sweeps I was starting to think I might need to begin checking the plants by hand. When all of a sudden I spied something a bit different. What a clever piece of camo. Extracted the cache and signed the logbook. No-one was close by but hopefully the people in the houses were not watching me. Returned everything as found and away to the next one. Thanks for the cache.
A great camo spot for the cache! Took my sister a while to find it and I just happened to look at the right place at the right time and spotted it. TFTC!
