Great find!

Today was another day combined with work and caching. Stayed in Rotorua for night and picked up the Squirrel on the way.
First to Putaruru then out to south of Pirongia. Bit of good planning with 2 caches a bit further up the road.
Also needed to go to Karaka on our way to Auckland for a couple of events, but with traffic issues we dodged Karaka we went to our first event on the list and arrived about 30 minutes after it started......
Rest of the day was a bit here and there collecting caches.
No problems to find this cache. SLTFTC

I did this series a few years ago, and don't know why I didn't log it!

18-Aug-18
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... It's International Geocaching Day. We have a mixed day of jobs and caching up and down the country...

We got away from home early so that Gap could clear some work. We blew through jobs in Putaruru and Pirongia. Then it was time to head northward to catch some events... Traffic on the Southern Motorway was hideous. We managed to catch up with ABCDF4 and eyespyben, and Team H (Huntly) R (Rotorua) P (Papamoa) got into action...

On the Panmure Basin Walk... A fairly busy area in the late afternoon. We were expecting to find a well camouflaged hide, but this will do... TFTC.

Baby D and Meimei found this. Meimei was part of the gang today.

The cache is all good.

TFTC.

Came out to today with the intent of walking right around the Basin . . . found this one no problems . . . . . . but the weather Gods thought differently after we had attempted to find #3 and we had to go home soaking wet

Nice day in a while to find a few more. Kewl series. Tftc

Found with NZDi. Our whole family headed north to Auckland for my father's 90th birthday and with a few hours to spare NZDi and I headed out for an out of town geocaching fix while the other six in our party shopped up large at Sylvia Park. Unfortunately the fog in Auckland had delayed our departure from Blenheim by two hours so we were time limited in our assault on this series.

Parking near the model society building, we opened the app to discover our first cache was only 42m away. It didn't take long to find this cache which could do with a bit more camouflage.

I'm trying to do the nearby earth cache at the same time and measure the distance around the path on my phone pedometer. I had to pause it here to dash up to grab the cache. An easy find but later remembered I'd forgotten to check the lids for numbers. I remembered to restart the pedometer again on this occasion. We saw some guys sitting around the model boat pond but no boats in action. We also investigated the wharf. I'm enjoying our walk, TFTC Smile

Mum was in Auckland for work and with a dot-day on the calendar and a wee bit of time before her first appointment only a few hundred metres away, she could not resist!
When she pulled up to GZ there was a muggle sitting really close. Mum was trying to work out how she could search without looking suspicious... while figuring out a plan Mum spotted the cache AND the muggle packed up and left!
Hooray! - Mum made the quick grab (noting the camo is starting to wear off the container a bit)

Nice quick find - while staying at the nearby conference centre for the weekend.

Muggle central - but great to see so many people using the trail.

Had initially needed to walk right past this cache due to some muggle sitting right beside GZ in their car. But after sitting down to log the last cache, they had left. Nice quick find here, cheers

I'm up in Auckland for one of my regular visits, and with having the next week off work I am looking to break my longest streak for finds as well as push through and gain my 500th Cache whilst I'm here.
Today is day 5 of my current streak, and I managed to get a couple of hours of free time to go caching courtesy of my other half needed to go into work to sort a few things out, so what better excuse than to drop her off and go and grab a few quick ones if I could.

I have been meaning to get a chance to walk around the Panmure Basin, seeing as it's only really a 5 minute drive from where I will shortly be living, and today was the day. Having just driven from Sylvia Park via an entrance I'm not familiar with, I found myself right by this access point to the basin so I thought "why not?"

So having parked right by where my GPS was showing GZ to be, it was just a case of finding an easy way into the hidden depths behind the foliage, and then having a bit of a hunt. As it turned out, not much hunting was needed, as the cache was spotted pretty much straightaway. Considering the sheer quantity of empty beer bottles and other trash strewn around under there, I'm genuinely surprised to find that this cache hasn't disappeared. But I was glad to have found it, so it was a quick sign and then everything was put back exactly as found.

Thank you for placing this cache for others such as me to find.

Seven different Cache types, that was my Goal for today. After CITO, Event, Mulit, Mysteri, Tradi, Letterbox and Earth Cache were still missing. I decided to drove to Baker's Dozen for the Letterbox.
At the car park I also could find this Little one!
Thanks for hiding!

01-Apr-18
i searched quite hard for this once before with out luck, i think the camo has warn off a little now making it relatively easy find.

05-Mar-18
Muggles nearby but approached from opposite side. Thanks

25-Feb-18
Other than standing in a place that obscured my site line to the cache the next most difficult thing was actually getting the log out lol If you are a duel blackbelt in both origami and chop sticks you'll get it out easily. Me though...I need to work on it

19-Feb-18
A lot off empty bottles around here! Be careful! Tftc

19-Feb-18
A very suspicious look from some muggles as the wife and I exited the GZ. Tftc!

07-Feb-18
Really quick easy find. Probably easier than it should be because most of the camo has come off...

Popped in here after work. Must remember to bring the mini me back on Sunday to see the trains.

Thank you for keeping up this series!

23-Jan-18
Quick find. Man that log is tough to get out. Good luck to the next cacher. Tftc

19-Jan-18
Nice quick find while in the area. Thanks!

14-Jan-18
Down in Auckland for a while, so just had to go out and look for a cache or two each day. This one was reasonably close to where we were staying, so headed down in the midday heat. Lots of muggles around, especially at the model railway, but luckily none near GZ.

Trusted the GPS and cache was soon located in good condition, but, like others have noted, the area around GZ could definitely benefit from a CITO event. TFTC

23-Dec-17
Cache is in good order. Quick find. Thanks!

23-Dec-17
Mmm Pain au Chocolat... Yum, haven't had that in ages. Cache is in good condition but GZ could do with a CITO. Tftc Smile

04-Dec-17
Took a while but good coordiantes helps here for me. TFTC

25-Nov-17
Ron and I decided to walk around the Panmure Basin this afternoon. We stopped here to have a look for this one. There were quite a few signs of an outdoor party around GZ, including many bottles and takeaway food bags etc.

However, the cache was still in its place. It is in good condition. All nice and dry.

Thank you

Another find on our walk around the basin didnt take us long to spot this but still a nice hide.

07-Nov-17
Final find on the loop as we headed back to the car. Nice series - time to go in search of a bakery now

07-Nov-17
The final cache on our walk around the lake and we found it after a short search. It was very close to where we had parked. It has been a good series of caches but it is a pity that so many are disabled at the moment.

29-Oct-17
Had some time free on Sunday afternoon so wandered around Panmure basin. Was wondering about this one, having not been found for over 3 months. Approached from one side, had a good idea where it was and went around the other side, that was easier access, and then a quick find. All dry and signed. TFTC

15-Jul-17
Very nice. Took a bit of wandering but finally found. TFTC

At a conference very close by, so decided that before I left for the day I would have to find at least 1 cache, took all of 15 seconds to find.

11-Jun-17
Easy find by junior cacher. Not sure how we missed this last time we were here! Tftc!

10-Jun-17
I was up in Auckland for a conference, and I decided that I have had enough sitting for the day, so went to find some caches before dinner! Most of the walk was very nice, except the few showers that came and went in between. TFTC and the great recipes!!!

Off to Auckland for a few days!! - It was about time I visited a hole bunch of friends here - took baby for her first flight outside of the womb, and showed hubby off a bit more of the sights around Auckland! Plus we had some airpoints, and accommodation sorted, so made for a lovely holiday!!
Caching was definitely not the main purpose of the trip, but we did find a few while at it!

I've done a few of the caches around here before, and today after church in the area, me, hubby, a friend, and the baby went for a walk around while waiting for another friend to finish her shift at work.

Lovely walk, lovely weather, and a sleepy baby - perfect! Smile

My first chapter was to walk around the basin to collect the Baker's caches and the Earth Cache.
Nice day for a walk. Most enjoyable.

Yum. Pain au Chocolat. My favourite. Although I did have an Ohakune chocolate Éclair yesterday which was exceptionally yummy.

Back in Tamaki Makaurau again for a few days so decided to cache out this circular walk around Panmure Basin. Spent my time dodging showers and muggles in equal measure. Interesting stroll. Thank you for setting the circuit.

25-Apr-16
Smile Found ... we had seen these pop up quite a while ago but hadn't got around to doing anything about it until now ... today we thought we'd go for a bit of a walk & see how many of these we could find ... there were a lot of 'muggles' around, which made picking up some of these up quite difficult & impossible for a couple of them, so we'll need to come back & have a crack at those another day ... this was the 1st cache of 9 for today ... the cache was easily found & quickly replaced ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,294 for us.
