I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi team_macdonaldThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler
We first attempted this cache in 2018, when we decided our calculated coordinates were in someone's garden and therefore incorrect. In 2021 we returned to the waypoint for another try, but were unable to find anything. This year, we had another look at our calculated coordinates, and decided we must have done something wrong originally, as they looked to be a very feasible location, well worth a visit. However we were unable to find anything, so we're unsure if our coordinates are still wrong, or the final cache has been removed.
I was going to replace this cache, but on consulting with a couple of other cachers I've decided not to, and let it get archived, it is a very busy area at times, and with the CO not involved anymore it makes things difficult to move a WP to a better spot.
We came down early January and got the info required. Today we needed a puzzle so came down to visit friends and get a couple of caches. Enjoyed this clever puzzle and the excellent hide for the final. Sure made us smile. Thanks for this puzzle and cache team McDonald and RAYZR0.
Really grateful to Natalie247 for getting this up and running. Team work on this got the final answers. Very secure hide - grabbed it before the weather got totally grotty. TFTC
Solved this one a week or two ago and was waiting for a dot day to sign the log, today was that day. Quick find and many thanks to those who managed to get this cache up and running again. TFTC!
With help from Phronimos I got the parts for WP1. Final is in good condition. I have put together a temp WP1 kit and placed it at listed coords as per hint so this is back in action as of 7 20pm 1st Jan 2023
Unfortunately the CO has not been active for a while. Named assistance RAYZ doesn't have the details for WP1, nor any of the past finders that I reached out too.
It's a shame as the overall series is good but this one can no longer be played.

We too were unable to find anything at the first waypoint. Indeed it was difficult to see where anything larger than a micro could be hidden. We now see that we tried to solve the puzzle two years ago, but apparently our answer was incorrect.
Heading north today to Christchurch. Nothing much planned, but perhaps Fizzy grid or highly favourited geocaches.
As I'm driving along I see this cache which I solved when we came through October last year.
Although there's not a lot of room to park 13m of rig I managed to pull off the road enough and wandered off into the trees.
Clever hide. I enjoyed the puzzle too. TFTC

Heading back home from Christchurch
Worked out puzzle and had cache in hand soon after
All good

Heading south for a few meetings, and this was a good one to stop by and stretch the legs! TFTC!!
I've been chipping away at the Ashvegas caches as I visit my in-laws. Sometimes finding them, sometimes just doing the leg-work to solve in advance. This had been the latter so today I stopped to sign the log after dropping my BIL at his parents' house.
I was due to start work at 1pm (in Chch) but I figured I had time for a few caches on the way. In the end I found four, did the homework then DNFd a multi, and found the info for a mystery cache (field puzzle) although it was illegible.
I arrived at work with four minutes to spare!

I solved this one last year but was traveling in the wrong direction, passing again today so stopped for a quick find. Thanks for another fun game in the series

Our first mystery cache! Initially missed the turn off point to get to the first stage so did a U-turn and found the area clogged with muggles. Shortly after however they cleared and we made progress! Signed as leotheanteater & penboi. TFTC!
Had a trademe purchase to pick up in Dunedin to decided to find a couple of this puzzle series on the way down. Managed to get the final coordinates reasonably quickly, and the cache was a quick find at the final GZ. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Always a bit worried when the description says "this bit will be obvious" as that is usually the point at which we get stuck. This time however, we were straight onto it and got some good looking numbers.
The cache was a quick find. Thanks for another fun puzzle. TFTC.

Well sort of found. We found the 1st part and solved riddle but were stymied as couldn't find the submerged rock.
We thought we had worked our way through the puzzle correctly, but as our coordinates put us in someone's garden we must have got something wrong. We will recheck.
Didn't do them in order, this would be the third... great fun though. Took me a not even embarrassing amount of time to figure out the word... Quick jaunt up the highway. Comically large rock on the cache well done. GLB1721 TFTC (4023)
Off for a dinner date down in Ashvegas, finally stopped by to get this one picked up having played the game a while back. The kids have discovered the game and are loving it currently. Cheers, great hide.

Scrabble is one of my favourite games so this was a must for me! Nice to get out and stretch the legs and let the dog have a wee sniff around on our way down from Christchurch. Was fun!
Then found the cache on our way back up home to Chch.

Man, what an awesome idea for a mystery series! I enjoy board games and I love geocaching, so joined together - that's worth a favourite point!
Had a go at the game Friday evening, heading down to Alexandra from ChCh, and now, on the way back, stopped for the final as it was towards the city. Final's well done as well.
Got to say, I thought that the obvious keyword will be "geocaching" but it wasn't! Still, pretty obvious though

Decided to have a quick drive this way. Solved the puzzle after the event so came back to find it today. TFTseries.
My youngest son was doing The Woolshed Creek tramp with his friends. I provided the transport.
I had solved this one ages ago. It took a large search. I nearly gave up. I really enjoyed this series. I have a few more to solve, I think.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. team_macdonald & RAYZR 01 for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 4975 for me.

After a bit of dithering this morning, we decided to head south to the Mary Hyde pirate event at Lake Hood, and take the opportunity to find some other caches as well. After a week of grey dismal weather, it was great to see the sun again, but in the shade, temperatures were still on the chilly side.
After working out the co-ordinates when we attended the Ashburton CITO in April, but not getting the opportunity to look for the final, finally we are in the area again. A quick find. Thanks for another in the series and TFTC.

#14337. Always good to be able to complete some unfinished business. It was definitely a good call not to stop for this one a few months back while heading north in the dark. Today we were heading south in daylight, and it was easy to pull off SH1 and locate the cache. TFTC (enjoying the series).
We worked out some co-ords before the nearby CITO, but it was dark by the time we headed past GZ, so we decided to leave the find for another day (provided we have the correct co-ords )
We had looked at this puzzle at home and come up with a likely looking co-ordinate, so headed straight there on our arrival in Ashburton. Checked out a couple of possible spots before finding the one with a cache. After all the rain we were pleased that the "submerged under a rock" part of the hint wasn't literally true. Thanks.
Solved the puzzle as I made my way toward Tinwald to have my cachemobile serviced. I stopped by on the way home to sign the cache off. Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache series. I hope to sign off some of the other Classic Games Series when I next come south to Ashburton. Thanks Team mac and RAYZR01.
Grabbed the details from the WP and went to pick up Ms KR from the Art Gallery and then a coffee to work out the final GZ. The code word was very obvious, and the final was on the way home so we stopped and scored a triple word score.
Found on a wee road trip to AshVegus. Cheers and thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Armed with the correct keyword this time we had no trouble finding the "keystone" and we were cock a hoop at solving this. Thanks.
Armed with pessimism and internet, we approached this carefully and quick find. Hooray. Nice work on this one - thanks for setting a cool puzzle.

Turns out there are two potential key words that make sense for geocaching, and we had used the wrong on a few months ago when we first attempted. But back today and found the right place to sign the log.
I did calculate this last night but ended up with the final supposed to be 270m out in a paddock. I definitely had calculated wrong. I had a brainstorm late last night an used Google Earth to check my new set of coordinates and found that they could definitely br a good possibility.
So I went there today and found the cache. Yahoo!.
Cheers for the cache.

Out on a mission with TG on a lovely Sunday evening. Started a bit earlier as we were heading to Ashvegas Town. The sky was spectactular as we headed south. We had a great evening with a couple of FTFs, great caches, and a rather sedate drive clocking up just over 200km for the evening. Still feeling a bit underpowered energy wise but I guess I'll pay for it tomorrow. We had sussed out the final for this one and we were heading home for the evening. We really enjoyed the puzzle and took a bit of staring to realise the key work. Ha, ha. We were both wrong with our possible answers. But it is really obvious. Sum done and only the final to grab. We made a quick find at GZ and called it a night and headed home and arrived just before 11.30. Fun night.
Thanks for the cache.

A caching trip to Ashvegas has come up in conversation a few times with TW but the time was never right...but this evening the planets finally aligned for a fun wee trip. Left a bit earlier than usual and set ourselves a 10pm 'head homewards' curfew. What a blast; a couple FTFs, a handful of caches and 200km travelled (mild compared to some of our trips!). Great fun.
Stopped off and grabbed the wp...hoping the final was further down the road (towards chch)......took a few embarrassing moments to spot the word (not what either of us were expecting) and then it was straight forward to calculate the final. Rehide the wp then headed off to the final...making it a just about parkngrab. Another great effort in the field puzzle and hide. Thanks for the effort.
Last of the evening for our adventure...time to head for home. Dropped TW home at 1130pm...not too shabby. Cheers.

I must be crazy to go out in weather like we had tonight just so I can get a souvenir. Yet I still did it.
Not sure why we got it wrong the first time we went to solve it. Well done BrownscacheDiversBCD for getting FTF earlier in the week.
I'm not very good at Poker so decided to leave that one for during the day when hopefully it isn't raining quite as steadily as it was tonight.
Thanks for the cache I look forward to finding more of them.

great cache.
this was my 3rd FTF of a puzzle cache in less than two weeks . I only came across this one while looking for a nearby "s" for the month challenge hadn't received a new cache alert so will have to keep a close eye out for the next in the series.
Dropped my daughter off at drama then me and the boys were on a mission found the initial cache easy enough and sat down to work out the keyword "obviously" there could be more than 1 because the first one we tried had us in the trees at the back of the cemetery which would have been a perfect place (note to locals desperately in need of a CITO back there). so having had a good luck we had a feeling we had the word wrong so it was back to the start . Then after a little "inspiration" we had what looked to be the right set of letters which had us on the road again with a little more confidence , bit of slip and sliding on the roadside in the snow nearly had the kids pushing when we pulled up to GZ. 2 of the boys had come up with different final coordinates so they were keen to see who was right (youth won out this time and he was very happy) very nice hide didn't have to dig around in the snow like the last one of these I came across.
a very enjoyable cache cant wait for the next one (monopoly maybe) thanks T&R fav point for me .
Keep them coming

I'm sure we followed the instructions correctly. The final coordinates wanted us to go to some farm buildings in a paddock. Rather long bike ride for the boys to end up with no find, over 9kms from home and back.
