This cache has been inactive since September. Considering the situation with people sleeping rough near the cache, it's highly likely the cache has gone. CO needs to check, replace or retire.
Halloween Sunday today, fine and sunny and quiet. Parked in the Frazer Cove carpark and crossed the road into the reserve. Plenty of birdsong, lovely, but there were also 2 little gatherings of ?homeless guys tucked into the corners with back packs, beer cans & smokes. Slightly unsettling, but I waved to one group & they waved back, so we carried on in our searches. Had a good look around two different horizontal trees with Totaras around them. No sign of the cache, but a nice empty spot right under a trunk where we thought a cache might have been. TFTC.
Found the location quickly, the camper seems to have moved about 200m further from the road, and was able to make a reasonably thorough search. No sign of the cache and I was fed up of being pricked by totara leaves so moved on. Cache might need checking in light of a few DNFs.
Out and about with My.Precious between and as it happened, in the showers. This is becoming one of my least favorite caches. My 3rd visit here, this time no homeless muggle lurking about. Was able to have a good search around. Thought I had found a possible holder but alas, no. Will keep a watch on the logs to see if it still there.
Searched long and hard. Even got George looking for it. At home she is known as my secret weapon in finding hard caches. We had no luck here! - Zeke & George of Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA
No freedom campers here today...but I think he left his rubbish & lots of it ! Quick find in this soggy park.
No luck today as an unwelcoming camper was stalking around. Didnt feel comfortable searching by myself. Such a shame, the totara tree is completely littered with beer cans, bottles, cardboard, old rotten food etc. Maybe one day a group of people could get together for a clean up project.
On the way past again after a busy weekend. Thought that any camper would be gone in the cold and certainly the previous site was clear. Unfortunately was almost on top of GZ when a voice called "someone's here" and sure enough the 'camper' was probably right on top of cache. Certainly no point in pushing him over to retrieve. Will try AGAIN another time.
P.S. never saw they guy in the foliage.

Were closely watched by an elegant White Faced heron as grabbed this one but we didn't hang around to photograph it.
We made sure the cache was well hidden so it didn't get confused with what else was around it. Sadly as with another in this series, humans have spoilt it ---- there was so much rubbish and cans; and in the midst of the natives a Kathmandu tent, it looks as if someone is living there

Went hunting for this one today with tiga and was almost at GZ when I spotted something amiss and a bit of movement in the bush. Called tiga back from going in further (less than 2M away) so as not to disturb the "camper" who was obviously sleeping rough.
Thought we may have spotted what we were looking for but was too close to the camping muggle so decided to return another day when the coast was clear.

Joined forces with HKCB, 11HPG11, Kyb3r and iammrwalker for a caching splurge around Tauranga. We had an earlier than usual curfew for today's caching mission, so we set off from the Tron at 5am to maximise caching time. Great fun with lots of laughs and lots of entertaining tales as is usual on our group outings and even better to be rewarded with so many quality hides: we were most definitely very impressed by the effort made by BOP COs.
This little park was the first stop of the day. As usual on these early caching missions, I was barely awake & today, neither was my GPS, with it not having been used for a while. I made it to GZ and almost back to the car before it was ready to play! Thank goodness, plenty of other devices & torches to hand to lead us to the right hint item & a nice quick find in the dark, TFTC

Nice easy find with hint spot on! Ground underfoot very squelchy after all the rain. Even though this place is across the road from Fraser Cove there wasn't a soul around! Thanks for the cache
Left this cute little girl to find a new owner. Co-ords a bit out, but found it. TFTC. Few bottles and cans around here. Obviously a party area for some
Doing some shopping nearby so time for a stroll along the walkway. The tide was in so the area looked great. TFTC
Our second in this series. We have a cache in Hamilton in a totara, so we knew what we were looking for. It's a good hiding place. TFTC.
1800 Last time I called there was a gentleman sleeping near GZ, Tonight at dusk there was no sign of anyone so able to grab and sign.
#506 - I'm liking this series of caches, good way to teach the little guy about all the different natives. He helped me find this one, nicely hidden too. TFTC
Nice quick find. A bit intimidated by all the foliage but quickly found the right one. TFTC.
I was looking at the wrong hint item initially - but then read the full hint and quickly found the right spot. TFTC
A quick find while in the area with Max. Have been leaving this series for when I needed quick easy ones to find when I get low on options around Tauranga but couldn't resist any longer. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC.
Was making my way towards this when the pile of old clothes not far away moved and sat up. I disturbed his sleep so we had a little chat then I left him to go back to sleep. Never looked for the cache
A quiet spot in a very busy area. And welcome shade. Some of the juvenile Totara are looking a bit beaten up but not this one.
Found this one ok nice camo job cache was in good condition quick find and sign tftc
Thanks For another easy cache. Also thanks for the lesson in New Zealand native trees.
We are cruising around over the long weekend, picking up caches as we go.
Nice hide, nice spot

The traffic is building up on Fraser street this morning - we found that our GPSr was 12 metres out. TFTC
Lovely hide. I used to do cross country around here when at the intermediate school tftc
Nice quick find here tonight after doing the new cache with the crew at McClaren falls thanks to the clue.

Out on an epic caching adventure with HKCB, iammrwalker and 11hpg11 as an honourary guest and the 'K' in signature 1HIK or HIK1 to make a dent in the caches of Tauranga.
Using the hint item proved a short search before I made the find. Cheers.

This geocache was found on my third trip to Tauranga/ The Mount/ Papamoa in the company of HKCB and 11hpg11 with a plan to clear out the area. We were joined today by Kyb3r another Hamilton Geocacher who was keen to be part of an infamous ‘mad mission’. We signed the logs with an anachronism of our Geocaching handles, usually ‘1HIK’ or ‘HIK1’. There were plenty of memorable moments and a lot of laughs as well. It was another long day; I got up at 4am and didn’t get to bed until midnight. We were a little disappointed not to meet our goal only getting about half way through our list of unfound caches. However we did tackle a number of difficult and complicated hides. We found some great and memorable caches and of course now have a great excuse to organise another trip to the area. Thanks to all the CO’s who provided us with such a great day out.
Kyb3r spotted this one quickly. Nice little spot, thanks for bringing us here.

Another big mission for our little Hamilton team. Maybe this time we can clean out Tauranga and the surrounding areas. Our team consisted of HKCB, Iammrwalker, Kyb3r and myself. We signed the logs as HIK1 (or 1HIK as the day went on!) Another 4am wakeup and we were on the road by 5am. Back home by 11pm I think it was, it was all kind of a blur by then! We were fueled by Sour Patch Kids, B.K., Caffeine and quite a few painkillers. We had a great day with a large variety of cache types, sizes and difficulty! Thanks to all the cache owners for their hard work on giving us some great quality caches to find. We had a few milestones hit today and I think we all had a great time. Looks like we might be back again some time in the future!
A nice little walk down to these caches, no problems with this one. Thanks for the cache

This is the 3rd mission over to Tauranga in recent months with 11HPG11 and iammrwalker to turn the place into a bunch of similes, but this time Kyb3r joined in on the fun also. An early start from Hamilton meant we were greeted by a fantastic sunrise of Tauranga as we made our way down from the Kaimai's, and by the time we had decided we had had enough the sun had well and truly gone to bed, but we did see it disappear while halfway up the Mount.
We found some great caches throughout the day and had some very memorable moments, and I even hit a major milestone, my 5000th cache find. We signed the logs 1HIK (an acronym of our caching names) or some combination of these letters to save room on the logs. A big thanks to everyone for all of the great cache hides.
Dropped off everyone while I parked the car, the cache was being signed when I got to GZ. Thanks for the hide.

2.50pm - Always read the information supplied. Easy find but ground area fairly wet and boggy. SLTFTC
Day 12 of a hopeful 50-Day caching streak... This is one of the requirements of our current Geocaching License Challenge. We have been looking ahead and decided that we no longer need to hold off on Tauranga caches. After months of neglect, it was time we did a bit of a raid here... With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
We found a park and squelched our way across the boggy reserve to this hide. We identified all of the hint objects, but the cache took a moment longer to detect, as it was hidden well. The camouflage is beginning to fall away, and that lid is quite noticeable... TFTC.

Another one in this series to enjoy - thanks for this series, I am enjoying identifying the trees. Nice spot for the cache as well. TFTC
Easy find, wasn't well hidden so made sure it was when we left, took green little faced shaker, left tank tftc
Got to GZ pretty quickly. Followed to hint rather then co ords according to other cachers. Took a while to find the right tree but eventually found it.
I found the co ords out a bit but with the explicit hint the find was pretty painless. Thanks ness2061,i am enjoying this series.
Out for my daily cache to keep the streak going, up to 180 days today This one was just down the road and looked like one I could easily take kiwibaby with me also. Parked over at Frazer Cove loaded baby into the stroller and off we went.
Got to GZ and as previous logs the GPS was out a bit but a very good clue ment a pretty fast find. Cheers Ness for another good cache really enjoying this series also. Look forward to the next

Found on the way to the get together in T auranga . Was here a few days ago to do the other cache along the coast.
Grabbed this on the way to the CITO this morning. It actually took me a good few minutes to find this one but managed to spot it eventually. Coordinates were pointing me 14m into the water but hint was adequate.

Cool another ftf in the rain . Been to the nearby shopping center a number of times, but havent really noticed this park before. Just beat mikemiss and met them at GZ. Looked a bit wet to go and find the other nearby cache. But we will be back. Co-ords were a bit out for us, but a great hint made it easier. TFTC

Fourth to find !!!!
Awesome thanks ...
Unfortunately my lunch break only allowed enough time for one cache so as soon as my shift finished I shot down here. Found this a lot faster then Natives #2 which was great and would lead to more time to find the other caches published today Good effort with the camo - cheers ness TFTC
After claiming a joint FTF on a nearby cache with Bridgeaway, we both headed over to this new listing. A quick cross of the road and we joined Bridgeaway on the search. A clear hint made finding this one a breeze. Claiming this as a joint FTF as we were there when Bridgeaway found it. Noted the coordinates were 14m out for us but the hint is clear enough to make a quick find. TFTC!
Was rushed out the door to do a search for this one. A short hunt and we had it. Tftc.
