First Geocache ever, lots of fun

Thank you we found it as our first cache but the log book was soggy and the pencil was blunt

Nice to find a decent sized container.

Today we have paired up with Temingi for an assault on as many caches north of Mackay that we can fit into the day. Armed with multiple navigating devices, iPads and iPhones galore, bits of paper, clipboards and a huge pile of TOTT’s we are hopeful that no caches escape our three sets of eagle eyes. We even remembered to bring a few spare pens!

Thanks to all the local owners who have developed, placed and maintained these caches. We known how much effort it takes, and we really do appreciate it. Without you we would not be able to participate in this wonderful, frustrating, enjoyable and challenging pastime.

We did a detour off the highway as we had targeted a few caches in this area which we ran out of time to do on our previous visit whilst heading north.

Tftc Turkey bush , saw some bush turkeys in the bush while grabbing this. Found a TB and took it.

It was a nice walk through the shrubs. Initialed and dated the find.

Dried the contents.
Replaced log book.
Dropped a coin.

We are visiting Mackay from Queanbeyan with the two geohounds for a few restful days. The Reluctant-GeoSpouse, Muggle-Out-Laws and two geohounds joined me for a few caches around Mackay.
After a lovely lunch at Eimeo pub from where we saw a couple of whales frolicking out to sea we are heading southwards for a few more caches. This area was lovely for a dog walk, so long as one kept moving to stay ahead of the mozzies . The cache was covered in ants but it is a strong and robust container so I tossed it a couple of times to clear the hitchhikers. The contents are in good condition. We didn't see any turkeys but saw plenty of echidna tracks.

Great spot. Geokids loves this one. TB passing through. I run the roads around here regularly and it was great to finally take the time to take this path to the beach.

Staying at the other end of the beach for a few days while in town visiting family, I went for a morning solo walk and collected a few caches along the way a quick find amongst the local scrub turkeys.

Last day at Dolphin Heads/Mackay - the threat of a cyclone is foremost in our thoughts, so planning to head west tomorrow. Most of the packing done, thought we would go out for a walk on the beach and find a couple more caches. Found at 3.40 then continued on to the next cache. Thanks Cache Quest (ZA)

Spotted a bush Turkey too. Nice path.

A bit tricky as it was getting dark and we didn't have torches with us.

East find just on night fall. Got a bit side tracked in the scrub before realising there was an. Easier way.

Found in the last place we looked . Popular with the mosquitoes as well. Nice big container. TFTC!
