Four of us hunted for as long as the weather held. Found lots of dumped rubbish ️ but no cache
Decided to come here on the spur of the moment, as it is not far from home base. Geokid came for the drive which was supposed to be a quick trip. Did a quick walk up the hill to appreciate the view. Found the cache quickly, Geokid not too keen on the barricade of prickles. As we were signing the log we heard voices so stuffed everything back in the box and replaced it. When we emerged, were approached by two walking women muggles they were very pleased to see us. One of them a Japanese tourist. They had done the Karamu walk from Limeworks loop Rd, their phone was not getting much reception, were a bit disoriented, they were tired with sore feet. They had been walking for 4 1/2 hrs and by now it was 4pm. So we drove them back around to their car. Funny how things work out and we were glad to help.
Found while out on 28.5km training run this morning. Took photo of log book through app , but not sure where that photo is now. Will message CO with cache/log description since I managed to make it there without a pen. Thanks for cache.
I had to be in Hamilton for work, so I thought I would try to grab some easy caches on the way. Thanks.
On my way for a walk today & this was a nice quick grab on the way past, thanks for the surprisingly good-sized container & hide
On our way back from Pirongia after a loooooongg walk.. Found it without much trouble. TFTC
Out with funkymunkyzone and Mr and Mrs harisree. We 4 have done a 10 hr walk on Pirongia mnt and getting a few park n' grabs heading back to Auckland. Nice views from up here alright, never knew about this walkway here, must come back and try it out someday. Initially hari tried to find the cache but not realised she had passed by it, it was FMZ who examined something more closely.
Found after a strenuous 21km hike on Mt Pirongia collecting FTFs. GPS coords very good here, zeroed out right next to the cache, which was at first overlooked by one of our group thinking it was rubbish until I went in and pulled it out of the grass. Cache in good condition and nice views from up here. TFTC!!!
What a fantastic day on the road weather in our favor and much sun screen was used.
We have never been here and want to thank you for bringing us here

This afternoon we dropped our daughter, son-in-law, and their Te Araroa trail companion off at the start of the Karamu Walkway. There was a very strong cold wind blowing as we walked up the first 100m with them. After saying our farewells we returned to the truck and had just left the parking area when we noticed that there was a cache right there. A quick turn around and a short search later we were signing the log. Very nice to have a cache to mark our meet up with the Walkers. Thanks.
Got rained on by very chilly rain but found the cache safe and sound. Did this walk several years ago and enjoyed it! Tftc!
We have come out here to have a good walk on a fine winter's afternoon and to find several caches. This was a quick find, although we were on the wrong side of the fence when it was spotted. We left a yoyo.
We had a great walk to the Karamu Walkway cache and back, with a picnic along the way.
Thanks for adding another find to our day. I have always wanted to walk this road and have considered placing a trail of caches here too.

Found the cache easily enough after first going for a quick walk on the track towards Limeworks Road. This looks to be a nice walk when the weather turns and becomes warmer. Gorgeous views on both sides of the road.
2.10pm - This part of the NZ national walkway, pity about the lack of track information. Perhaps more people might use it if they knew where it goes. Two other vehicles parked here but nobody in sight. Climbed fence and found cache hide. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Good old Queen Elizabeth, allowing us to have a day off work... We drcided on a mission to Hamilton for the purpose of one puzzle hunt in particular. It seems this one's days are numbered (which is a shame)... But we have other targets too.
There were all sorts of bits and pieces strewn through the long grass, and gorse too. Gap went over the fence and spied the cache from that direction which saved me from further scratches and prickles. The view from both sides of the road was impressive. We expected to find a bit more information about the walkway, but there wasn't much of anything here. TFTC.

I think the farmers were a bit suspicious but found the cache. Log a bit damp. TFTC
So many opportunities for prickles and other scratchy things, but found the cache safely affter a little scramble. TFTC
In the area for a cache nearby. A bit of a prickly one. Made it harder to find.tftc
Was going to walk from here to another cache Pirongia way but rain started so decided to drive to the other side and hope that the rain passed, nice views, even in the rain!...TFTC
A great spot, I didn't know there would be a view from up here until I arrived! A pleasant suprise. I grabbed the cache and ran up the hill to check out the view in the sunset . Cheers cosclan.
Well have been meaning to get these along here for some time and until now it never seemed quite the right time but my Christmas present to myself was to clean out Pirongia once again, especially after having been up the Te Tahi track last weekend.
Went in for Smart Old Tree and Natural Doorway then headed over here to grab this on the way home.
A nice quick find even without the imposing help of the cache guardians
thanks for the the placement thanks for the cache

No problems with this find today, unfortunately a nice big gorse bush sitting there, but I was able to make a quick grab anyway. TFTC!
This was a great place to stop and take in the scenery. All the do not enter signs were up with it being lambing time. For the next person who heads this way - be careful of the barbwire in the grass as you make your way the last few meters to the cache. Ow
Found with 11hpg11. I laughed because she sat in some gorse trying to find this cache. Thanks for the cache
Out today with Shark_boy collecting some caches. Sharkboy was feeling car sick so we came home Old Mountain Road way so we could go slow (plus so I could stop and grab some caches!) Love this walk way so good to have another cache up here to entice people out here. Thanks for the cache!
Decided to head out for a few hours and find a few un-found local caches for a change. For some reason I always find myself up here in the cover of darkness. No one silly enough to be about tonight, but I thinks that's due to the heavy rain that was pouring down and the lightening strikes in the background. Found the cache nice and quickly and did my best to keep it as dry as possible when signing the log. Thanks for the hide.
1163 Woke up to see this posting. Lay there thinking willI won't I. Eventually I went. Arrived at Karamu track. Bugger wrong place. Should have turned on GPS before leaving home. Arrived at correct place at 8.55 am and discover I am still FTF. Yeah. Left 2TBs.
Saw the notification come out, but decided a slow easy going morning was the way, stopped for a caffine fix along the way and another cache, Arrived about 35 mins after the FTF oh well can't win them all even when taking it easy
