A fine example of a narrow guage bridge built back in the day, cache was found in the first spot we checked, great views form here just the sound of a few hundred flies around the fly netTFTC Hurtle
After a days travel and a frosty morning, the weather started to get a bit warmer, so thought we'd see what caches were about . Looks like we missed a few earlier on , but we'll catch them up on the next trip .Another stop along the line - suprising there are so many still with the structures still in place .TNLNSL.Thanks again Hurtle.

We are on a Bucket List Trek, from Busselton, in the South West corner of Australia, up to Cape York, Australia's most Northern land point.
We are travelling through several iconic tracks, through the Gawler Ranges, the Oodnadatta Track, the Birdsville Track, the Bloomfield Track and the PDR Track to Cape York.
As we meander across this awesome country, we stopped here to enjoy the scenery, check out the history and wonder what life was like here in the Outback all those years ago.
Thanks to the CO's for adding to our journey as we head to Cape York.
Thanks FTC

Working our way home from a tour at Maralinga with a group of cachers, mainly from South Australia. Now there is only Geoturtle37, Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and myself. We are having a great time, visiting new, remote locations and finding caches as we go.This was a bit of fun to find. Pays to take note of the D/T. Love the old bridge. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here.
This would have been our 700th find, if we logged in order. Wanted to walk out a little onto the line but there were no railway sleepers left.
Spotted the cache from below and retrieved from the top. Thanks for the view

We are driving the Oodnadatta Track north but as the roads is closed from Williams creek we are taking our time and hoping that it will be open by the time we get there. So we are able to find most of the caches along the way. I had recently read a book based in this area so was interesting seeing to old structures. I am surprised to see that a lot of the sleepers are gone. I thought they would last awhile.
This was a nice quick find.
Thanks for placing

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Hurtle for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Seen on the 30th, but could not retrieve it as Muggles arrived, so returned on 1st. Was visible to all at the base so I have placed a small rock on top of it
Another great spot for a stop and rest. Late afternoon and the bird life is quite active here. TFTC
We stopped at this cache as it met a 360 degree from home requirement. Pleasantly surprised to take a cool photo of the bridge. Thanks for bringing us here Hurtle, sea eagle was suitably impressed. I overdid the terrain and then we read the hint and Rex spotted a dirtbag sticker which helped us locate the cache.
Found with Sea eagle on our “mid” adventure through the middle of the state. What could go wrong? SpidermonkeysGrandMums health suddenly declined, 3 out of 4 of us had been sick left the monkey home not well, farina bakery was closed due to covid and was the highlight of the beginning of our trip, the backup battery decided to die. So, we don’t know really how far we can go and taking each day, one at a time.
Overnighted at Port Augusta (just to get out of the house early) , two nights camping at Farina, (frosty!) two camping at coward Springs and then two at William creek (hotel room and a scenic flight)
The skies have been amazing at night and the sunsets fantastic. We haven’t been able to find all the caches en route due to the drivers demands but we selected some old and 360 degree from home special ones. Nothing wrong with leaving a few for “next time” either.
Thank you for placing it for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when required. TFTC

Found with SpidermonkeysMum on our trip along the Old Ghan Railway Heritage Trail from Quorn to Finke, Lamberts Centre then back along the Stuart Highway. Had a great trip, stopping often for caches/coffee/camping. Weather was very sunny during the day, freezing at night but I love a good campfire. Thanks for the reason to stop.
Catching up with logging caches found in the past week or so along with ilook4geo. No problem in finding this one, log was signed and returned to place. Thanks for this cache placement go to Hurtle.
Working on the backlog of caches found with goingplaces2. Not a lot of caches found as we head away from populated areas. Thanks to each CO for adding to the caching game. Cache found, log signed, job done!
Another stop on nthe Oodnadatta Track and another piece of history to explore.
A quick find and all is good here.

Found on yet another trip without crossing borders. Like many others overseas trips are on hold. Even interstate is hard to plan. So we are taking the time to explore and re-explore our home state of South Australia.
This trip is take 2 as our first attempt was clobbered 2 days in by a sudden lockdown meaning we had to turn back home again. Two weeks later and the geohounds are back at puppy holiday camp. Our plan is Hummocks Station, Willow Waters Gorge (brilliant!), Farina, and then the Oodnadatta Track to Algebuckina Bridge, then through to Eringa Waterhole and then on to Mt Dare. After that the likely path (assuming the NT border is open) is via Finke to Lambert’s Centre of Australia and then we will turn back south. We may drop into the Painted Desert on the way back and perhaps also take a side trip to see Lake Caddibarrawirracanna. We hope to find a few caches along the way and maybe hide a few as well. We are certainly having fun so far.

No trains today. Amazing that the sleepers have nearly all gone. The steel work is going to last forever in this dry environment.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.
The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

Decided to take the back roads on the way up.
The Ghan track is so interesting, bit of a shame its not running this way anymore.

Having just done the Flinders Ranges leg of our Big Lap we are now making our way along the Oodnadatta track with the aim of visiting Australia lowest point and then across into the NT to the geographical centre of Australia before heading up the Stuart and into Alice for some more fun. Water in the creek today, which made me slightly nervous. Not to worry though. Great spot!
We nearly gave up on this one. Helps if you are at the right level. The phone was leading us a stray. Nice stop for a late lunch. TFTC
We could see this one easily from a distance, and when we got there, found that the lid was broken. Luckily we had a new one to replace it, then tucked it in out of sight to passers by. Thanks Hurtle. We love seeing these old structures along the track.
Love to see a picture of the original construction crew building these big bridges -good one to look
Another rail track crossing, never tire of seeing these, although one of us was blind to the clue!!!! I dont think I should have been entrusted to typing the caches up!!!!! Thanks for the cache. Travelling with TubbyBooBoo.

Off we set along the Oodnadatta track, whilst throwing caution to the wind with the car we had. We used the caches as checking points for the car.
This cache was easily found, wondered why you would want to live out here
Today was a massive day of driving with almost 600km of driving. We started off at parachilna and headed north to Marree. Unfortunately we got a flat tyre on the way out to a cache of Freddos but a local was nice enough to plug it for us. We later headed to lake eyre south along the Oodnadatta track before heading south to Roxby downs, unfortunately a rock was flung up by an oncoming car and shattered the rear window of the car. At the end of the day we decided to pull in at woomera for the night.

[@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled to the Northern Territory from Adelaide for a 2.5 weeks road trip holiday. We took my jeep through Port Augusta, Woomera, Roxby Downs, Andamooka, and then drove the Oodnadatta Track via Coward Springs, William Creek (including a Lake Eyre scenic flight), Oodnadatta, and Marla. It was then onwards to visit Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tju?a (Olgas), Kings Canyon, and then drove the Red Centre Way aka. Mereenie Loop Road to see the Tjoritja (West MacDonell Ranges), calling in to see the various highlights. We then stayed a few nights in Alice Springs, and included a day trip to see the East MacDonell Ranges. It was then time to turn around to head to South Australia, and in doing so, we visited the Palm Valley, and made the 4WD detour through Owen Springs Reserve (an excellent shortcut that wasn’t too technically difficult), calling into the Henbury Craters, and the Lambert Centre of Australia. Our final stop was Coober Pedy, and we really enjoyed checking out the various dugouts and mines.
Today, we continued our outback trip travelling from Roxby Downs to Coward Springs. We started off the day with a breakfast event, and then after checking out the visitor’s centre, headed to Andamooka to see some interesting opal sights, glass bottle house, and old mining pub. From there, we briefly saw Olympic Dam, before heading north to join the Oodnadatta Track. We visited Lake Eyre South, some ruins and the old Ghan’s bridges, and a few mound springs.
This bridge was kinda cool to stop off at. We noted that the CO could have been quite mean, and placed the cache in the middle of the bridge! An interesting piece of history here. The cache container and logbook were in good shape today. Thanks Hurtle for placing the cache and its ongoing maintenance.

@Davidwazza and I travelled to the Northern Territory from Adelaide for a 2.5 weeks road trip holiday in the infamous black jeep. We took a route through Port Augusta, Woomera, Roxby Downs, Andamooka, and then drove the Oodnadatta Track via Coward Springs, William Creek (including a Lake Eyre scenic flight), Oodnadatta, and Marla. We then stayed a few nights in Alice Springs, and included a day trip to see the East MacDonell Ranges, before heading home in a more direct route through Palm Valley, Owen Springs Reserve, Henbury Craters, and the Lambert Centre of Australia, and finally Coober Pedy.
Today, we continued our trip, completing some caches around Roxby Downs and visiting Andamooka before heading up past Olympic Dam, and the joining the Oodnadatta track. Making a few stops along the way we set up camp in Coward Springs, of course enjoying the natural springs!
Cool to see remnants of the old Ghan, TFTC!

Found while we toured a circuit of the Flinders Ranges, Marree, Roxby Downs, Woomera and Port Augusta for the week, mostly touring the backroads and visiting many scenic and interesting locations. Thanks for the cache Hurtle!
On a trip with another caching team, from SA to Alice Springs. Of course we stopped for this cache! This one involved a hilarious search because everybody assumed everybody else had looked there! Let’s not go into details about how far out we went... Thanks for placing the cache Hurtle.
We are on a 4wd/camping holiday from Adelaide to Alice Springs.
We are following the Old Ghan Railway as much as possible.
It has been interesting seeing the history of the out back and caching as we go.
We thought the clue was pretty easy.....we were wrong! It took us way too long. We looked up and down several times, rethinking what x was....eventually our fellow cacher found it by accident.
Thank you for placing this cache.

Now I do like these lost heritages Mr Hurtle. I got a lucky snap of 9 birds here - right in the middle. Lovely structure.
Found with H423L on an epic trip up to find Pluto (GCG32B) - the furthest known planet at the time of TeamAstro's solar system inception. There was dust, flies, more dust, no mud and a million stars at night. There were no tyre issues. The geocaching led us to spectacular spots that were out of the way - and a few spots that were popular as it was the school holidays. We cached a few caches with others and it was good to see our friends on the trail.
Thanks to Hurtle and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Found with H423L on an epic trip up to find Pluto (GCG32B) - the furthest known planet at the time of TeamAstro's solar system inception. Found yesterday on my epic return trip to Perth via Mt Gambier and Renmark, possibly with a few more detours to be thrown in. TFTC
Found it traveling north. Sure we have done it before but maybe didn’t log offline. Tftgc.
On our two month travelling trip through Austrialia, we are enjoying all the wonderful places and scenery. We will stop on the way to visit some nice caches as well. This one we could find.

Disappointed after so many successes. Offline and no clues. New to this - now in Roxby Downs so going to learn more about the website so we can download hints and clues before we head off.
Found on July 29 on the way to Lake Eyre. Great spot for a cache and a good hide. Thanks Hurtle
Travelling the Oodnadatta track, heading nowhere in particular. Stopping for caches and at interesting landmarks. It’s really great to learn about the original Ghan railway

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 42. After a quiet night in William Creek I continued South via Marree and Lyndhurst to just North of Hawker for a very cold night.
I like all these old bridges and also hope they survive a long time. It took me a while to work out the clue, but from a different direction it all came together with a nice cache find.
Thanks.
