Happy caching,
Found, after another look and confirmation from CO that the cache was still there and near where we had looked previously, and some persistent searching by JustLookingOO! Thanks for the cache
No joy on first attempt. Phone coords were all over the place, those darn powerlines do it every time!. After a nudge from the CO, second visit the search area was widened, easily found the newly refreshed cache and log - a little nod to the cache name there. We had been sooo close, lol.
It was fun searching thru the tall bottle brush, seed pods sounded like a rattle snakes as you weaved through them. This visit the view was elusive - a drizzly and very windy day. TFTC.

Log Book was there actually but it was all in a bit of a mess and had fallen out of its little place ---- so I have taken it home to tidy it up and will put it back on Friday when I go passed it again!!
Log book is missing. And it was raining so no views today. I have been in this area before but think it maybe have been early evening and we also had not views. One day !
Walked past this one at first, then the GPSs caught up with us and we returned to this spot. Yes, the lion certainly has a good view of Putauaki. Thanks for the cache.
I'm Whakatane born and never knew the full story of Putuaki...actually a really interesting story!
Always feel like I'm home once Putuaki and Whakaari are in view

Road is dangerous for kids so I advice to park up safely and have a quick look. Small hint....in photo. Didnt have pen to log in.
North Island Campervan trip Day 6
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
This would be a great chance for me to seek out some targeted caches such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
With the wild weather, I had decided to play it a bit safe and spent last night in a Motor Camp in Tauranga. I was intending to head back down to Whakatane/Ohope and then start the journey back towards Auckland today, never quite knowing how far I'd get by the time evening rolled in. By this time of the evening, the weather was improving as I was starting to make my way westwards again.
This was a nice straightforward find, thanks to the lack of muggles around today. There were no issues with the cache or the log, which was swiftly signed and everything returned exactly as found before I made my way back to the van to carry on with my journey.
Thanks for setting this cache up.

As our plan change again for today We decided to head to Whakatane Thanks to CO for a great day nice hide
Got it - had a bit of a struggle with the log but got there! Lovely view of Mt Putuaki! TFTC
Out and about grabbing a few caches while visiting the area, no view of the mount today due to low cloud but we did see a well themed cache TFTC.
A quick easy find of an appropriate little fun cache. Everything else in the torn bag was sodden, so we put just the main item and a new stash note in a new bag. The log was ok. TFTC
Nicely themed cache. And a good view. Haven't attempted the climb yet - maybe one day!! Thanks for the cache Dominic-aidan
Nice detour to see the lions and the mountain.

Love the concept and how you've tied it all together. Original log full so signed alternate. Tftc
We left home Friday night headed to Wanganui to visit our daughter then Saturday morning headed to wards Rotorua and grabbing a cache or two along the way. Today we got up early and decided on the route we were going to take starting at 8.05am, no sleep in for me today. Found the cache signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. such a nice area to visit thank you for placing a cache here made us visit the area and enjoy the sits and the stunning scenory. TFTC now onto find the next cache, saw the lion replaced log as couldn't get log out
Now i understand why i was suggested to take tweezers. Finally got the log out. THTC
Nice easy find. Nice view but a cloudy day. Also found 5 bucks on the side of the road
Quick found on a busy road. At first glance there appeared to be no log book in the cache but on closer inspection we found it, had a lil giggle, thanks
Dived in too soon at first but a slight relocation soon had cache in hand. Heading home after a long day and picking a few up on the way. Cute little cache. TFTC.
Headed down this way for some R&R with the family in a friends campervan. ....exploring some of the local attractions we came across this cache. ...

So after a 3.30am start and an all day caching mission with Kiwis69 and 11HPG11 to find 10 different cache types in one day and 750kms already travelled why not team up with 11HPG11 again, Cats&Dragons and MCC for another mission, 10mins after the last one had finished.
This second mission turned the day into a massive 27 hour caching trip with well over 1200kms travelled. (Hamilton, Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Hamilton, Rotorua, Kawerau, Murupara, Rotorua, Summit of Mt. Ngongotaha, and back to Hamilton).
The plan was to head down to Kawerau then on the Murupara and back to Rotorua to find the new trail in that has been laid and then head up Mt. Ngongotaha to attend the Time Warp event. This second trip was a bit of a struggle but we got there in the end, and even found every cache on the trail, and the walk up the hill was much needed. A big thanks to the CO's for the placements.

Heading over to do a little circuit in the company of HKCB, 11HPG11 & McCutchen Cacahe Clan following a big day by the first two of completing 10 types in a day ( while some of us had to do the around the house work that the Good Lady of the House insisted on). Caches were signed collectively as "HOAC" to save space on the logs
So here we are and leaving an event early (yes I know, hard to beleive) to do a little ciruict across the top of the lake to Ngongataha (via Kawerau and Murupara) for the "Time Warp" event. Yes I know but there were caches that needed finding. Not a bad evenings tally with about 35 finds before heading back to Hamilton for some much needed sleep. Thanks to all the cache owners for their plaecments.
Well this was the ninth on the list s we headed across collecting the odd random placement here and there. The final grab as we headed out of Kawerau at 10.40pm still hoping to make the event with time to spare
Thanks for the placement and the cache

A mission that has been a long time in the making. Today our goal was to collect 10 different cache types in a day. For Kiwis69 and myself this would have been fairly easy and a short day, but because we were tagging along with HKCB, this meant a few more kms and a wider caching area. We started the day at 3.30am and due to deciding to continue back to another event in Rotorua I got to bed at 5.30am the following day. Sleep is for the weak right?! A memorable day, spent in some great company and superb weather just to make the day even better. All up we did Hamilton - Auckland - Hamilton - Tauranga - Rotorua - Taupo - Hamilton - Rotorua - Hamilton. Travelling all those kms and still ended up in Hamilton
So our 10 types in a day mission had been completed at 6pm and after that huge day the sensible thing would be to go home and rest. Nah where is the fun in that. HKCB and myself decided to team up with C&D and MCC and collect a few caches plus attend an event in Rotorua at 1.59am. Totally normal behaviour.
Logs were signed as HOAC to save room. Divided and conquered this cache. Soon found the hide thanks

Out with Cats&Dragons on a late night - early morning cache run. Logs were signed MCCD but may have varied a bit as tiredness settled in. Thanks for placing this cache and giving us a reason to visit
Nice quick find while home visiting family. Used to drive to school daily and see these lions of back then they where Grant Newmans driveway. Nice quick find
First thought when I saw it...is it rubbish. But on closer inspection I find a cool little wee cache. Goes well with the 2 across the road. Lol. Nice to find something a little unexpected. And for that I will give you a fav.
out for the day after dropping school group in Whakatane and before picking up again later
Liking the view, and liking the continuation of the theme with the locale of the view and the cache itself. I think a favourite is in order. Patauaki looking spectacular today, by the way. TFTC
Cute cache. Couldn't write in the log, had no pen on me.

Another quick park and grab which was good as I was running a little late. The lid is broken which I suppose is why the entire cache is bagged but it's a bit of a shame as it's a very majestic container.
Cheers again Dominic-Aiden

Early 2015 a group of Tauranga based cachers started a [BOP Geocaching Facebook Page](https://www.facebook.com/groups/GeocachingBOP/). 115 cachers currently make up this [Closed](https://www.facebook.com/help/220336891328465#What-are-the-privacy-options-for-groups) group and have already organised various events and excursions thanks to the connectivity facebook provides. Been geocaching for a year with mum but this is the first one I have found to log under drimdram101 tftc.
Great view of th mountain and good piece of history. Cute cache and our 3rd this morning. Thanks.
Nice idea ... we replaced the plastic bag as it had got rather tatty... The lid to the cache is broken though, so is not closing securely. TFTC.
Thought it was too dangerous to be near the tracks especially with all the rubbish bags around haha finally was found exactly where it should be
Heading home today so decided on a bit of a diversion through Kawerau.
A busy road, but enough room to pull over. Soon found the plastic bag with the cache inside.
Thanks for setting this up Dominic-Aidan

Cool cache. Very creative. Hard to gt log out so put in my own paper. Nice view of the maunga. Roar!
After an abortive attempt on the Karaponga Dam, we needed some caches to justify the petrol used, so decided to mount an assault on M&J and D&A territory.
Strike One! Thanks D&A. We are feeling better already.

Cam over to Kawerau today to do a few caches to go towards my geocaching license #1 one of the requirements is to find 10 caches by different owners this is cache number 1 . I pulled up near GZ and got out of the car pretending to be talking on the phone then made a quick grab in between the traffic took back to car to sign log then waited for another break in the traffic to return cache.
