Continuing my trek down Switch Road. This one still in good nick, but a couple of ants have moved in too.
Spending a few days in Geelong I decided that today I would target the Fun For Kids Trail especially as I need some more Regular size caches to complete a challenge. It was a beautiful day after a somewhat chilly start and the road was clear of traffic except for about four deadly treadlies riding past. Then a bit later on a few cars sped through. It appeared that these may have been on a rally. A successful day finding a variety of caches in a variety of hides.
I was out caching with Team_roberts1 today but they had pulled the pin so I continued on to hunt the rest of this series. Another quick find, thanks to deshut for this one
Got excited when I saw this cache containerOut for the day with ConnieandRick, decided to finish of the Kids series as well as a few in this area we hadnt done. As usual a fun day. Took the Geopups with us which was nice as mine hasnt traveled with me for some time. She seemed to enjoy it, as did we. A great way to lead into Xmas as I love driving around this area and nice to give theCruiser a run. Thanks deshut for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
Having a wonderful day out with deanside, laughing and enjoying the lovely weather away from the Xmas crowds. We'd started this series from the other end around 3 weeks ago and this time tackled it from the south. All found although one was very elusive. I think we might have signed a few in the kids log, then realised our mistakes. Thanks for a great series.
Another trip out to the ranges to grab a few more in this neat series, with all but one found on today's run. A good winters day to be out here...even managed to see the sun most of the time.
Thanks deshut and suehut...caches found were all in good shape.

Out for a lovely sunny day on the long weekend to try this trail with the geo-kids.
We live close but have never been here so decided we would give it a shot.
Nice easy find and lots of swaps for the kids.

Drove all the way across town just to find a nearby challenge cache and decided that while I'm here I might as well grab a few traditional caches in the same area.
A nice quick find and the cache in good order.

Decided today was the day to head out and try and collect a bunch of smiley faces. I've been out this way before so it was a no brainer to come back. Thanks for the effort in all the caches you've placed out here
Heading down to Torquay with Bogonghazy. Nice hide. Thanks for placing the geocache
We decided on a trip to the Brisbane Ranges to take some time to be in the bush and go searching for some caches. The weather was started off being a bit windy and quite sunny. We stopped during this series twice to have lunch the first time and a cup of tea the second time. Each time the weather was lovely when we stopped, and it started raining as we were packing up. We had hoped to find the whole Fun for Kids series today, but we ran out of daylight. We will be back sometime soon to fill in the gaps. All cache we found was in excellent condition, and this would be a fantastic series to do with children. Thank you, suehut and deshut, for this excellent series.
Headed out today after being released from regional lockdown. Cowgirl_101 and I were hoping to complete the Fun for Kids trail which we started back in 2018! Thanks suehut and deshut for the amount of work you have put into this series. Much appreciated.
We obviously timed this trip perfectly as we came across many replacement logs from the day before. Cache and log found in great condition.

With The ring of Swiss cheese coming down we could now catch up with our Metro Mates, so once again I teamed up with Omegaman1971 and headed to the Geelong area to do some of the many labs and several caches in the area. We had a great time exploring the area. Today We started in Geelong but got a little frustrated with suburban caching so we headed to the Brisbane Ranges to do the Fun for kids trail.
This was one of the caches we found today.
Thanks deshut for the cache.

Really enjoyed this series, great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Was a shame that some of the logs were water damaged and a few offline.
Cheers for the cache

Back here for the 3rd time to finish off the Fun for Kids series this afternoon. Always a pleasure coming back to the Brisbane Ranges National Park. Care was taken with each cache - sanitised our hands before handling each cache. TFTC.
What a better chance then to grab a series of caches then a public holiday. Only 3 of The Famous Geo5 Crew made the journey to the Brisbane Ranges but 9 Year-Old, Geo-Dan joined the older two and got an absolute bliss out of the day. This was our first chance to get out and walk a bit along the side of the road after tackling the climb in the car. All 3 of us spotted this one quickly and we signed the appropriate logs. Mum headed back to the Car so we could meet further up the road at the little car-park for a quick snack break

Had a great time with the kids driving through the Brisbane Ranges finding caches as we went.
Plenty of fun hides and lots of swag was traded.
We spotted a Grevillea here that we had never seen before.

Spent a glorious day out in the Ranges collecting the caches in this series plus a few extras, most were found fairly quickly whilst others took a little longer , my GPSr had me looking 7 - 10m from where I actually located most of them.

Out and about with annabella02, hunting gems , good long day that finished in the dark , many tftc's
Day caching with sassieold55 to collect a few gems, we had a good day, we had a couple of DNFs and missed the multis as we started the series late and finished in the dark with torches and for the two and a half drive home Thanks for the series suehut and deshut
This is another biggish Cache with lots of swag in it. As with most of this series I have found so far, the terrain was fairly flat and vegetation not very dense, making access reasonably access. It was a bonus for me and my arthritic knees today!
I spotted this cache from a distance, almost from the road, but it blends well with its environment and my relatively experienced eye noticed something “not quite right “. It is unlikely that any Muggles would find this, or any other of the caches in this series.

Fun for kids and adults alike! A good trail with some clever caches, lots of interest to keep us going and some good scenery along the way. TFTC
Found it, thank you for this great series, lots to see along the way and very peaceful. TFTC
No kids with me because I don't have any, but I'm finding all these "kids'" caches. 8 finds today now on a lovely day out in the Brisbane Ranges. TFTC
A drive through the Brisbane ranges finding this series. All nice and easy but all enjoyable! Such a pretty area. Enjoyed working my way up the track, listening to an audiobook, enjoying the sun and the mad dash from cache to cache grabbing as many as possible. Thanks for the series!
Today was a beautiful day for a Sunday drive. This was a great sized container with lots of swaps. We appreciate the effort of your enjoyable cache series.
Found with Beaker on our way home from a night away in Melbourne for a rock concert. Thanks
Quick find today with FerociousFlea whilst in the area after seeing a concert in Melbourne last night. Nice and easy...loved this series. What a fantastic idea!!

My sixth day of a 9 day caching road trip holiday.
Today I had set out to finish what I had intended to do yesterday before I ran out of energy (and comfort levels due to my wet shoes) and find my 11,000th cache. I had the specific one chosen, and coincidently there were many caching trails on the way.
In the end I managed to find 72 today.
Thanks for the caches.

Out for a drive in the Brisbane Ranges, we followed the trail from Bacchus Marsh to find some large caches towards a challenge. It started off being easy, but as we progressed the road became tricky, still we persevered.
Wandered a little to find this one. Thanks deshut and suehut.

Out for the day with my brother Snap Happy, cleaning up fun for kids series, that has been on the radar for some time. We also managed to grab a few extra caches along the way. We discovered many great and clever hides and had no DNF's amongst the finds. Some interesting scenery, in an area I don't normally travel. We didn't have any kids with us today but we still had a very successful day, with some laughs and good company.
Love all these large size containers.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks deshut for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

We decided to head out for a picnic and enjoy the day, the youngest member of our team loved this series, and loved logging his own name where he could, he loved the puzzles when there was one, and raced to make the finds, thanks for the cache and the fun
Dippa46 and I spent a most enjoyable day converting green to yellow on the map and having fun completing the various requirements for each cache. TFTC
Went out for a days search to see what we, MazzyMay and me, could find. We managed to find this one. TFTC.
Despite having no kids with us, we had a great morning finding these fabulous caches along the track. Such a pretty place, the weather was perfect, and it's a simply superb series for the geokids! TFTC

Today I headed West to attend, Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale with biggles1024 but once that was over we then headed out to the Brisbane rangers to tackle a couple of different series, fun for kids was first followed by the Legends! series.
We started from the south and counted down to number 1 as we headed along this at times very rough and other time very good road.
At times the coordinates were very good and other times for us they were out a bit but in the end we were able to find them all and this series was completed.

**Find #3022**
**Traditional Cache Find #2076**
An early start was needed to head across the city to attend the "Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale" event with SteMicMitSar and also find a number of caches in the area.
This looked like a fun series and with a number of Large containers to be found, was too tempting to pass up. We moved from the last to the first. Most were quick finds, but some needed cacher sense rather than our GPS's as the co-ords were at times up to 11m out for us today. The area was very quiet and only a small number of vehicles and people were encountered during the day.

This afternoon we headed out to do the Legends series and then continue on through the Brisbane Ranges to the fun for kids series as well to get another day of 50+ finds for a challenge we are working on. We were pretty successful, only one DNF on the Pacman Legends Letterbox cache and all others found.
It was pretty quiet today but a couple of times some ancient vintage motorcycles came through on a cruise. Why you would choose these dirt roads I do not know.
The other reason we wanted to do this trail is because we are slowly working on a challenge cache that requires 100 large size caches so this helped greatly.
As we got to each multi we swapped between puzzle solvers/clue gatherers while the other one randomly searched. We found a few finals like this today before the puzzle solving was finished. Not sure if that make us bad puzzle solvers or good searchers?
Another tool box? Do you work for Ryobi? They make a pretty good cache.
Thanks deshut and suehut for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Just me on this last few.
Another lovely big cache.
Someone has been spending way too much of her time staring into the screen of the laptop, so it was suggested that we go and find some fun Geocaches. As this series has the words "kids" and "fun" in their titles, they seemed to fit the bill. So, lunches, snacks and swaps packed, off we trooped. To her credit, ZombeeFish only complained about being bored during the drive out here about seven times...
So after enduring kilometre after kilometre of freeway "safety works", and dealing with a few Legends on the way in, we reached the main attraction.
And they were exactly as advertised. Good sized, fun containers with plenty of swaps, enough trickery mixed in to keep the kids (and occasionally the adults) on their toes. Most of the time, I acted as chauffeur and let ZombeeFish work out where the hides were, sometimes with comical results.
deshut and suehut, as with most series, this is a generic log, with occasional colour. We got to #27 together, with the occasional nudge to continue, and it was dark for the last few. Thanks for some father and daughter entertainment.
Now, someone gets to stare at the computer screen sometime soon, to log her impressive total of 33 finds for the day. Ah, well, that's the bonus of having your own account, eh.

Out for a spot of geocaching with Earthbound Chieftain. A nice quick find. TFTC.
We trekked over this side of town today to collect a few legends. A caching day with Lisette which doesn’t happen as often as it should!

This morning it was wet and during the day quite heavy downpours kept everything very wet. It wasn't long before my footwear was wet and there was water gravel and mud inside my vehicle. But with all these fun caches to tempt me I continued to enjoy them. A fantastic series and only sorry that I had no geokids to enjoy them also. TFTC suehut and deshut
Off I go to Melbourne! Down from Canberra for a caching trip around the Mega!
Today's geo itinerary was to grab this trail and a few other randoms along the way.
I really enjoyed this series! Mostly lovely big containers, easy finds and the fragrance of the bush after the rain was amazing! Loved taking the geounit through this beautiful area
Thanks for the hide and for the series, deshut

It is only in a place like this that you can have so many larger caches. I get sent a lot of trackables from Germany which need a larger cache to place them into. If only I had thought to bring a couple down today. TFTC.
another imaginative use of a household item for a cache container. Great series. TFTC!
A morning wander with Clint&Abby around parts of the Brisbane ranges, we decided to grab a few more of the Fun for Kids series while there. We were now on our way out, stopped and quickly located. What was the origin of this cache container? Tool?

Team Gunks headed out today for a family day caching and exploring. The kids had not been so keen on caching in recent time, they loved it when younger but had lost a little interest. Hopefully these series and some others on the way.
Well as soon as we got started and all the cache were fully off goodies the swaps came out and the running and mayhem to find each cache first started. I think we double swapped and treble swapped at some and loaded a few up that were light on goodies.
I also thought this would be too many cache for one outing but we did the lots!
Not too much wild life about, just saw a wallabie and some small lizards.
"Little River" was a bit of an exaggeration, no water! Stopper there for our picnic.
Had a great day out, thanks for bringing us here for an explore. and TFTC.
