Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/).
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Three days after the remnants of Cyclone Cook had passed we rode up this cycleway from Clive to Fernhill. We are a little unsure as to which caches we found on our way up so beg for indulgence if we have logged some and not actually found them. What was evident was the trees, blown over, how high the flood waters had been and how wet many of the logs were (to the point of being a mushy pulp. We thought we knew where one cache may be but there was a grumpy possum in the hidey hole so we looked no further and haven’t of course logged that as a find. It may be a good idea for cache owners to check their caches are OK. However many thanks to all those who have contributed to the trail. TFTC's
A few days away over Easter and pleased to find some caches in this area.
Lots of storm damage.
Lots of storm damage.
Team Tufty had decided to cycle one of the power trails along one of the many stopbank cycle trails in the Hawkes Bay.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
There seemed to be many objects that matched the hint, but GPS accuracy was good and it didn't take too long to spot something pink. Thanks for placing the cache
seem to have problems with these pink bits have replaced cache again aroha and happy caching
I found a small pink bit of plastic under a large wind fallen tree but that was all. Possibly part of the previous container?
A good morning to go for a walk and find my D.N.Fs. Nice little hide, but has been moved slightly by wind. Cheers.
A good morning to go for a walk and find my D.N.Fs Found Philippa's Pick Bits but landscape has changed, a couple of trees have fallen over and one is on a precarious angle. Didn't want to stay about to long as wind was getting strong.
Thought I'd walk along trail today and find some caches. Looked on way down, then on way back. Spent more time on this one then I'd like and still came up empty handed. Cheers.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 14 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

Well we searched high and low just for a glimpse of Philippas Pink Bits.
We poked and prodded every conceivable hole, but we just couldnt get our grasp on them. Looks like the pink bits may have hibernated for winter, or maybe completely disappeared.
We think that a large log may have filled the likely hidey hole, as a tree has fallen in the area.

We did find some pink bits but nothing that resembled a cache - probably needs to be checked on, cheers Morgan.
We've had this Tauranga to Hawkes Bay trip planned for a couple of months now and these caches were all part of that plan. The caches of this trail were varied, some clever, others not so much. Some were DNFs and others spotted from the track. This series was a bit of a battle at times, especially when the rain set in. TNXPro, DavidsonClan and myself have signed the logs T3A, an acronym from our messenger chat 'The 3 Amigos'.
**And please join us at the [New Zealand Geocaching Adventure 2016](http://www.nzgeocachingadventure.nz/) which is being held 21-24 October 2016 (Labour Weekend) in Turangi. Can't wait to see everyone there!**

Second DNF for me today. Had to stop looking as muggle council worker was mowing the edge of the cycle track. Will come back at a later date.
We looked around here for a while - lots of cow poo and fallen trees, no cache for us.
Thankfully found the pink bits and didn't make this 3 DNF's in a row. That would have been very disheartening. TFTC.
(1689) Found Philippa pink bit on the ground. Sign log and replace above the high tide mark. TFTC
Biked along this track to grab a few caches before a gathering in Taradale this morning. Thanks for the cache.
Well I never thought I would lay my hands on Philippa's pink bits, especially after reading the logs, but I called to her and she came quickly. Should I be worried that they were purple when I found them and not pink? perhaps been out in the cold too long? TFTC. nice and sneaky... just how I like them!
Nice hiding spot for the pink bits. A few creepy crawlies made their way out when found. Tftc
Cool hide for the pink bits. We were a bit worried about the moo-gles, but all was well. A reasonably quick find due to the amount of finders. Good camo!
Well we didn't take the GPS with us so were relying on the phone. So many spots here it could have been and a micro too! We searched and searched and widened our search with no luck. Decided to move on to the next ones and search again on our way back. We were walking down the track to the next one and heard thunder ....... hmm as it was sunny when we left home we didn't have any rain gear with us (well an umbrella in the car but the car was back down the track further) so decided to turn around and head back rather than continue on to the rest of the caches. We stopped at this cache again to continue our search. We had to PAF for a couple of hints!! Finally had the cache in hand the last people had made sure they made it a hard find for us and we have left it the same way!! Couldn't leave this one unfound as it is named after me!! I found my pink bits TFTC
Was a bit worried about what Philippa's pink bits were going to look like! No luck on our first search. Found them on our walk back...glad I didn't have to touch them, left that up to Dave. Loving our walk along here today!
[blue]The tell tale tide mark/water line suggested that Philippa's Pink Bits had been under for quite a while, they clearly survived the flood though and remain fully open ready for action. Oh well, I can always say that I've been there, seen that now, even got a picture!! TNLNSL TFTC[/blue]
FTF Philippa's pink bits- were a bit wet on the outside but dry on the inside. Was a tight squeeze??? TFTC
