Very lucky cache as they have done a forest burn up to its hiding spot. Took a couple of goes to get code but were successful. Tftc

Spending a few days in Geelong I decided that today I would target the Fun For Kids Trail especially as I need some more Regular size caches to complete a challenge. It was a beautiful day after a somewhat chilly start and the road was clear of traffic except for about four deadly treadlies riding past. Then a bit later on a few cars sped through. It appeared that these may have been on a rally. A successful day finding a variety of caches in a variety of hides.

Thoroughly enjoying your caches through the forest. Thanks for the work you have gone to with the cache

30-May-23
No kids in my caching team, it's just me, however I had a great time in the area today grabbing about 20 in the series, with one DNF. I enjoyed all the different containers for each cache, along with the fun multis and puzzles. All up, a good hour or so driving through the forest.

Thanks for the series suehut and deshut.....a lot of work has obviously gone into them. All caches that were found, were without any issues and are in good condition.

Out for a lovely sunny day on the long weekend to try this trail with the geo-kids.
We live close but have never been here so decided we would give it a shot.
Nice easy find and lots of swaps for the kids.
Love this one and the little puzzle.
Gets a fave from us!!

It took me a little while to work out how to get into the cache, but only because I didn’t look at the device properly. Once I was in I went to grab the log and a lot of cache guardians of all different species started moving. I can honestly say I have never seen so many different bugs in one cache! They scuttled off pretty fast and the log was signed and everything put back in order. TFTC

We decided on a trip to the Brisbane Ranges to take some time to be in the bush and go searching for some caches. The weather was started off being a bit windy and quite sunny. We stopped during this series twice to have lunch the first time and a cup of tea the second time. Each time the weather was lovely when we stopped, and it started raining as we were packing up. We had hoped to find the whole Fun for Kids series today, but we ran out of daylight. We will be back sometime soon to fill in the gaps. All cache we found was in excellent condition, and this would be a fantastic series to do with children. Thank you, suehut and deshut, for this excellent series.

Out once again in Brisbane Ranges, another beautiful winters day, with the kids, having a ball. They have absolutely loved this series, and it is perfect for kids. No traffic, easy to find, lots of swag! This one I couldn't find, Aysen opened the radius and soon found it! A nice cache stocked right up. Thanks Deshut! This whole series all deserves one big FP.

With The ring of Swiss cheese coming down we could now catch up with our Metro Mates, so once again I teamed up with Omegaman1971 and headed to the Geelong area to do some of the many labs and several caches in the area. We had a great time exploring the area. Today We started in Geelong but got a little frustrated with suburban caching so we headed to the Brisbane Ranges to do the Fun for kids trail.

This was one of the caches we found today.

Thanks deshut for the cache.

What a better chance then to grab a series of caches then a public holiday. Only 3 of The Famous Geo5 Crew made the journey to the Brisbane Ranges but 9 Year-Old, Geo-Dan joined the older two and got an absolute bliss out of the day. We were planning to get the bike out for Geo-Dan and for us older ones to run a bit on these last 4. Enjoyed the puzzle here, at least I wasn't left to try the 9999 different combinations . Signed here but had to get back into the car, still no good parking spots yet

Thanks for bringing us to these amazing caches in majestical wildlife deshut

Nice to be back caching after the Covid19 lockdown. Of course, care was taken with handling caches by using hand sanitizer before and after caches.

Kids had fun doing the combo lock! TFTC!

22-Mar-20
Loved the field puzzle and different box! Fun easy instructions on it, just a little trial and error. It may need some WD40 sometime in the future, but still working well. The container was well constructed, which a medium sized spider agreed with as it had made this it's home, so keep an eye out! Thank you so much!

I came out to the Brisbane Ranges for a number of reasons today. I wanted to find 18 caches to get to my 1000 find (this was my 11th for the day), to see some beautiful vegetation, to get out of the house and suburbs in this uncertain time of COVID-19, and to find some larger and interesting caches! I'd been looking at this series for ages, and it ticked all my boxes. After a reshuffle in the morning due to my car being unsuitable for the southern end, I'm working my way down. Thanks for an incredible series suehut and deshut, a truly excellent idea!

Did a small run Friday to find a few more in this series. We had loads of fun. Half muggle mum grabbing the caches for me to sign. We replaced baggies that were ripped, added a good handful of toys and handmade kids jewellery to each one that was big enough for swag. Really enjoying this series can't wait to come back and finish the rest.
Only had 2 DNF this time around will look into trying to find them next time.

Spent a glorious day out in the Ranges collecting the caches in this series plus a few extras, most were found fairly quickly whilst others took a little longer , my GPSr had me looking 7 - 10m from where I actually located most of them.

Made a start on this series just to finish the day after caching through Gordon, The Bungal Forest, Ballan and then the Legends Series. 42 caches for the day and the first 10 found this series here.
I haven't been to the Brisbane Ranges in over 25 years when i used to bushwalk for native orchids, of which i found many in this area.
The best cache of the first 10 for me, almost had a coronary when i read the first part about how many combinations i thought i might have needed to try! A FP for this one, just a little different!
Apologies for the generic log as these caches, although easy to find, were no less interesting with a great variety of hiding styles and the big cache sizes were very welcome. No wonder the kids enjoy them, i certainly did and I'll be back for more.
Thx to deshut and suehut for the great caches here.

My sixth day of a 9 day caching road trip holiday.
Today I had set out to finish what I had intended to do yesterday before I ran out of energy (and comfort levels due to my wet shoes) and find my 11,000th cache. I had the specific one chosen, and coincidently there were many caching trails on the way.
In the end I managed to find 72 today.

Thanks for the caches.

Yesterday decided to go geocaching and after having this series on our list for a while we pack geokid and geotoddler into the car with a picnic and headed off and boy was it fun. We didn't get to finish it because the grand final was on and geodad and the boys were complaining it was getting too cold but we at least ticked off some of it. TFTC

Out for the day with my brother Snap Happy, cleaning up fun for kids series, that has been on the radar for some time. We also managed to grab a few extra caches along the way. We discovered many great and clever hides and had no DNF's amongst the finds. Some interesting scenery, in an area I don't normally travel. We didn't have any kids with us today but we still had a very successful day, with some laughs and good company.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks deshut for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

*19/5/18, Found @ 4:14 pm, Find # 7873.*

Today I headed West to attend, Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale with biggles1024 but once that was over we then headed out to the Brisbane rangers to tackle a couple of different series, fun for kids was first followed by the Legends! series.
We started from the south and counted down to number 1 as we headed along this at times very rough and other time very good road.
At times the coordinates were very good and other times for us they were out a bit but in the end we were able to find them all and this series was completed.

**Thanks to deshut and suehut for placing this cache.**

**Find #3044**
**Traditional Cache Find #2094**

Trackable shown in cache inventory not present.

An early start was needed to head across the city to attend the "Come & Visit Parkville Nov 2018 - Wyndam Vale" event with SteMicMitSar and also find a number of caches in the area.
This looked like a fun series and with a number of Large containers to be found, was too tempting to pass up. We moved from the last to the first. Most were quick finds, but some needed cacher sense rather than our GPS's as the co-ords were at times up to 11m out for us today. The area was very quiet and only a small number of vehicles and people were encountered during the day.

**Thank-you to deshut for placing this geocache**

Found on 6 May 2018 at 2:40 pm.
This afternoon we headed out to do the Legends series and then continue on through the Brisbane Ranges to the fun for kids series as well to get another day of 50+ finds for a challenge we are working on. We were pretty successful, only one DNF on the Pacman Legends Letterbox cache and all others found.
It was pretty quiet today but a couple of times some ancient vintage motorcycles came through on a cruise. Why you would choose these dirt roads I do not know.
The other reason we wanted to do this trail is because we are slowly working on a challenge cache that requires 100 large size caches so this helped greatly.
As we got to each multi we swapped between puzzle solvers/clue gatherers while the other one randomly searched. We found a few finals like this today before the puzzle solving was finished. Not sure if that make us bad puzzle solvers or good searchers?

Played around with some numbers here and of course it was the last number....
Thanks deshut and suehut for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Spiffy- and I targetted some larger type caches and this series was perfect. Thanks to deshut and suehut for placing this cache.

The plan had been to go to St Arnaud yesterday, then do that Cito and the Ballarat CITO today, as as things would happen all plans fall apart. So instead left early this morning to make the 2 hour trip to Ballarat for the CITO, well that trip took 8 hours (well you have to find a cache or 2 on the way).

Ok so it took me all six options to get there

Found with nirgalagrin... now I have my own account.

15:32

Despite the frustration of convincing my partner in crime to stop and think about the instructions, we got there in the end.

One of my favourites of the day.

Someone has been spending way too much of her time staring into the screen of the laptop, so it was suggested that we go and find some fun Geocaches. As this series has the words 'kids' and 'fun' in their titles, they seemed to fit the bill. So, lunches, snacks and swaps packed, off we trooped. To her credit, ZombeeFish only complained about being bored during the drive out here about seven times...

So after enduring kilometre after kilometre of freeway 'safety works', and dealing with a few Legends on the way in, we reached the main attraction.

And they were exactly as advertised. Good sized, fun containers with plenty of swaps, enough trickery mixed in to keep the kids (and occasionally the adults) on their toes. Most of the time, I acted as chauffeur and let ZombeeFish work out where the hides were, sometimes with comical results.

deshut and suehut, as with most series, this is a generic log, with occasional colour. We got to #27 together, with the occasional nudge to continue, and it was dark for the last few. Thanks for some father and daughter entertainment.

Now, someone gets to stare at the computer screen sometime soon, to log her impressive total of 33 finds for the day. Ah, well, that's the bonus of having your own account, eh.

A lovely day for maintenance and this lock box is in great condition.
Remember to read the numbers on the end of the lock or, as I did, you could waste a lot of time.
