Took quite a bit of looking for, and we think we were probably lucky to find this one.
Today we have paired up with Temingi for an assault on as many caches north of Mackay that we can fit into the day. Armed with multiple navigating devices, iPads and iPhones galore, bits of paper, clipboards and a huge pile of TOTT’s we are hopeful that no caches escape our three sets of eagle eyes. We even remembered to bring a few spare pens!
Thanks to all the local owners who have developed, placed and maintained these caches. We known how much effort it takes, and we really do appreciate it. Without you we would not be able to participate in this wonderful, frustrating, enjoyable and challenging pastime.

Day 22 and the start of our return road trip home from Townsville to the Gold Coast with hatzofff, grannysmith1947 and RoddyC.
We did a detour off the highway as we had targeted a few caches in this area which we ran out of time to do on our previous visit whilst heading north.
Didn't see any of those big scrub fowls here today just a nice quick find of a good cache.

TFTC Cache Quest. Mozzies were intense after recent rain. Geokid fled from them. Next time we’ll bring some repellant and continue on to the spit.

We are visiting Mackay from Queanbeyan with the two geohounds for a few restful days. The Reluctant-GeoSpouse, Muggle-Out-Laws and two geohounds joined me for a few caches around Mackay.
Another great container, quite a relief after yesterday's mint tin bonanza. We explored the track for a bit further down the spit and even visited another beach. Wonderful area...

Staying at the other end of the beach for a few days while in town visiting family, I went for a morning solo walk and collected a few caches along the way with this being the first my GPS was a bit scattery and took a while to settle and I spooteed teh cache easily only I got somewhere near it, AKA on the corect side of the track.
Thanks

Found at least 10 scrubfowls. One in the early morning on our campsite and 4 or more at the cache. Nice site!

Last day at Dolphin Heads/Mackay - the threat of a cyclone is foremost in our thoughts, so planning to head west tomorrow. Most of the packing done, thought we would go out for a walk on the beach and find a couple more caches. Found at 3.39, then for the walk on the beach.
On the way past to try and crack 'The Imitation Game'. I grabbed this one, Great location, Great walk and great container size, Thanks Cache Quest [ZA] for placing
A very pleasant walk but a few hungry mozzies when i stopped

8/7/16 1050am Found it with Kids. Kids did some swaps. All secure in good condition. TFTC SL
Well I got it..... Eventually lol. I could see a path on my map, but grass was hiding the entrance, and I took the other one. Hoping it would lead around..... Anyway, got there in the end after some bush bashing.
Found it very quickly. Mind you i took the difficult path getting there . Glad i didnt have to search to far what with it being night fall.
Found in the last place we looked . Not that hard to open. Our 2 year old had one of his tantrums going back to the car. He's not a fan of sand in his thongs, hot sand under bare feet, bright sunlight and it was just generally hot as well. Then he screams when we try to cool him down with some water over his head. Not easy geocaching with a toddler. TFTC!
Found it! I was holding the box in my hands, but couldn't open it - so didn't sign in.
Who closed the box? Please open it!!! Lol... Haha...

We parked at the parking coordinates and found the b(r)ush turkey and headed off to look for scrub fowls. Might not see too many with the dogs in tow.
Actually we did. I could hear a couple. Yes they have a distinctive sound. We did sneak up to them but they started to move out of the way as we edged closer.
Now to keep going to the cache. I spied what we assumed to be a trail complete with markers where the iphone told us to look but it turned into a wild goose chase.
Really. We turned and minutes later I was signing the log.
TFTC loved the walk. Never knew it was here.

I have never seen one of these before and while we saw them from a distance I knew that the presence of our dogs would ensure not getting too close today. Oh well they make nice sounds.
I followed the false trail to know where and left the rest up to Mum, my dog not really a good cacher.

Had the day to spend some time doing a little G'cing. Off we strolled down the track. At around the GZ we wandered off the track on the wrong side for a wee bit until we changed sides and Voila! There she be! SL. TNLN. TFTC.
Note: We spotted two sets of loved up Scrubfowl (first time I've seen them) and spotted one long lost Bush Turkey staggling home after his big Saturday Night out. No doubt he was heading home to watch the all QLD Footy Grand Final! Go the Cowboys!

Out for my find today.
Didn't have it loaded on my GPSr yesterday so thought I would come back.
Lovely walk along the path to the GZ.
Saw 4 of the birds in question.

another lunchtime stroll to check out the local fauna
parked at the prescribed spot and went for a walk
no worries here ... clean log too [^]
actually saw a few scrub fowl today too ...
6 in total I reckon
thought it might have been a bit warm for them,
tried to get some photos
but the darn things were too quick ...
every time I tried to sneak up on them and take a photo
they scurried away into the undergrowth .
... still no scrub turkeys
