Quick find at an amazing spot, make sure to look around at the stunning views. Tftc
Thanks for a quick find. We are yet to do the mystery adventure lab so nice to have an easy one here.
Out on a Cub Scout night hike tonight and picked this one up while we were waiting for everyone to find there way threw the scenic drive road closures.stunning clear night - beautiful spring evening.TFTC
Took a bit of rummaging, but found in the end just where you'd expect it to be. TFTC
Nice place for walks and finding out more about the New Zealand bush. Usually theres a great Danish ice cream stall there so be sure to check that out after you sing the cache!
SM325 and I are on a bucket list trip to New Zealand and Australia. This is our first time here. We did part of the nature trail here. TFTF!
Mrs. Amazing and I are on a private tour and our guide brought us to the Arataki Natural Trail. Once we finished the hike we snagged the geocache. Thanks so much for putting this one out as well as feeding my insatiable addiction!
Found with Dali87 within our amazing trip around New Zealand. Thanks for nice cache ....................................................................... TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M
Quick find, good for teaching kids to think about where they would hide a cache. Log is very damp. Ttfc
Nice quick find here. Log a bit damp from previous water ingress but just about managed to write on the paper. Nice views up here, time for an ice cream
After finishing the Nature Trail across the road we found this one whilst completing the Adventure Lab nearby. TFGC.Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today we were planning on going in and around Titirangi after being unsuccessful yesterday due to various road closures on our travels. A great way to spend another sunny summers day.
Day 12: Waitakere and the Western LineTodays journey took us to Titirangi and Arataki in the morning to look at some Kauri trees and to explore the region. After that, it was a quick sojourn to Bethells Beach / Te Henga and then I took the train from Swanson to Kingsland to pick up some long overdue puzzles and multis that I have been meaning to get. Finally, it was on to the city for dinner - a truly busy day today, and thanks for all the caches and puzzles that I found! (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:Parked at the Visitor Centre for the walk of the day to see the Kauri, and this was conveniently located, so the small effort was made to find this one. A quick find here, and all was well, as we made preparations for the short hike. TFTC!
Away for the Easter weekend and taking a slow amble from west to east to camp somewhere near Whangaparaoa.
A ‘Road Closed’ sign wasn’t going to stop me, or several other people, from getting as far as the Arataki visitor centre.
After a few AdLab stages I set off for some proper caches.
Not open at all today which foxed a good number of people but did not deter a large party near the education centre.
After letting some muggles amble by I continued my search and eventually tracked the cache down.
Thanks OneRanger

Was in the area to celebrate Keylev's completion on the dot day grid. Decided to have a walk around the area to collect the caches nearby.
Finally out! This was a quick one to find, soon signed and was on our way. TFTC

Was here attending Keylev’s event this morning & grabbed this on my way back after a short foray along the Beveridge Track. It’s lovely to be back in the Waitakere’s again. ️ tftc
Our last cache for the day before rewarding ourselves with a delicious ice cream before heading off home.
Back to the car park after a 10km jaunt with Keylev’s krew and time for one more to put a nice dot at the end of our dotty day. Spied what looks like a camera within the sign and gave it a wave. Wonder what that’s for?!? Thanks for the Ronnie Corbett cache!
Attended an event held at Arataki with the plan to do the loop walk around Beveridge track and the Pipeline Rd. We ended up extending our walk along Exhibition Dr to collect the adventure lab waypoints. In total, the hike was just over 10km on a gorgeous day with keylev, B4Dawn,
@McArgister, Rafajaw, and Demi the geohound.
The last cache as we arrived back to the carpark. Thankfully a large campervan pulled up into the bus parking, blocking us from view of the muggles buying ice-cream.

Needs mantinence. Bag has a leak. Anyways we have put a new log sheet as it was too wet to write on.
This was my first time visiting the Arataki Visitor Centre, and now I've been here, I think it's one of my favourite places in Auckland. I want to come back already. (And actually, I'll have to come back, because I totally forgot that this is one of the locations of the Literally/Virtually Somewhere in Auckland caches that I'm also working on... oops.)
I arrived here early afternoon after a couple hours of walking, and had a look around inside before having lunch at the lookout nearby. I really enjoyed learning about some of the work that's being done in the Waitakeres and the different species that can be found here and the people who have played a part in the area's history.
After all that, I wandered over to find this cache before starting the Adventure Lab nearby. It was a very quick find in fine condition. A few muggles around including a big group with a tour guide and a few families. Thanks very much for placing a cache at this awesome place!

Visiting Auckland from Brisbane to see family. As the rain didn’t eventuate, my son and I decided to come to the Waitakere’s for some walking and geocaching. Great to have an easy find here. Tftc
Nice easy grab after exploring the visitor centre, although I was staring at the wrong spot for a moment thanks!
A cheeky little find, we saved this one till we found the rest on beveridge track. Good find!
After doing the nearby nature trail to the kauri cathedral we wandered over to this cache. The icecream caravan was calling laval's name, but we resisted and grabbed the cache instead! TFTC!
Out for a short wander with Mrs NZ Travellers, NZ Iceman and laval exploring the area and caching of course. We were joking about cameras being in the trees etc on the walk and notice there is one actually in the sign! Nice quick find here.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found whilst out with keylev, NZ Iceman and Mrs NZ Travellers. Thanks for the fun and the cache.
We did the nature trail walk this afternoon and collected the caches that we passed aswell as doing the Ad Lab ad bonus cache too. Next stop was a visit to the wonderful visitor center just before it closed and then as we were here and this was nearby a chance to make one last find before heading home. A good guess where this cache was hidden and we were able to make a quick grab for it, sign and be on our way.
This was a quick find on a nice day at Arataki though I initially wasn't too sure what a retaining wall was. TFTC (Spoiler of the container in the photo!)
Found it it looks like it’s been there for a long time pretty easy thanks for the good hint.
Took the kids out for the last day of the holidays here at Arataki. Havent been here since I was a little kid, thanks for the cache! Quick find
Out for a bushwalk in the Waitakeres. Limited options with Kauri Dieback, so we opted for the Slip-Pipeline-Beveridge loop from the Arataki Visitor Centre. Got back and walked past this cache to head for the Danish Delights - luckily we did because he was just about to close up (4:50pm), so we were the last people he served. After we finished our delicious ice creams, and the carpark had emptied out somewhat, wandered back and nabbed this one. TFTC.
Since i was walking past this one I figured I might as well make a find. All good here. TFTC!
Nice quick and easy find while doing the adv lab tasks.
I was keen for a trip out today, being the last day of 2020, and opted for a Waitakere ranges walk at Arataki, followed by an easy drive along some other areas of interest. Paired the normal geocaches up with an Adventure lab to yield double figures of 15 caches. Great views and nice to be out of the blazing sun for a little while. Happy New Year for tomorrow everyone!
