Found them all three. The last one was a hard one. But luckily found it on our last day here in New Zealand. TFTC

27-Oct-24
Thanks! Fun one!

10-Oct-24
We couldn't do this one today as they are working on the paths so it was fenced off. They look like they have scrapped the old path and dumped it near the cache but we will be back to find it another time. TFTC

24-Feb-24

04-Feb-24
Couldnt find the hint or cache description but still a relatively easy find! TFTC forgot our pen so pic for proof!

13-Jan-24
Surprised it was a bit off the trail but I was able to make a quick find here. TFTC

06-Jan-24
Not sure where this one is hidden. I checked around the base of about 20 different trees (mainly kanuka) but also other types from 1-10m from the track. Nothing seen. Yet it was found 2 days ago so that means I failed to find it. I had thought it might have been taken when I saw all the pink tape of the vegetation plot near GZ. Seems I will need to come back for a forensic check on another occasion.

04-Jan-24
**Sorry for the late log. I just recently noticed I'd forgotten to properly log some of the caches found on this day. I'd made a draft log in c:geo so it showed up on my map as an orange smile not a yellow one.**I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Monday I spent relaxing with my family down here. Tuesday's focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and St John's. Wednesday we ended up caching in the Waitakeries and finished up in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Today we're going to geocache around Blockhouse Bay, Green Bay and Titirangi. Thursday we decided to finish off a few out here before Yvettetb had to leave. I then cached around the Panmure Basin and the new subdivision Stonefields. Friday I was alone and walked the cycle trail between Waterview and Te Atatu.Today Yvettetb and I had a nice walk in the forest here while doing the Adlabs. I don't really remember this one as it was a while ago now and my buddy's log didn't jiggle any memories. Thanks for the cache Smile

04-Jan-24
Another quick find after locating right tree. Thanks for the walk mainly in the shade which is fantastic. TFGC.Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today we were planning on going in and around Titirangi after being unsuccessful yesterday due to various road closures on our travels. A great way to spend another sunny summers day.

16-Dec-23
Day 12: Waitakere and the Western LineTodays journey took us to Titirangi and Arataki in the morning to look at some Kauri trees and to explore the region. After that, it was a quick sojourn to Bethells Beach / Te Henga and then I took the train from Swanson to Kingsland to pick up some long overdue puzzles and multis that I have been meaning to get. Finally, it was on to the city for dinner - a truly busy day today, and thanks for all the caches and puzzles that I found! (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:This was another tough one with the unsettled GPS due to the tree cover and the number of possible hiding spots. It took quite a while, but I managed to find this one after venturing into the bush a little. TFTC!

21-Oct-23
One of my luckiest finds of the day. So many possibilities & with a bouncing gps, just happened to search in the right area. TFTC Big Grin

25-Jan-23
Took quite a bit of wandering around to finally spot. TFTC.

25-Sep-22
Another one along the way as we completed the stages of a couple of other cache types. Another quick find here.

25-Sep-22
A quick find with HeMaLuDy once we worked out which fork to take at the junction.
Not a great fan of going off the track in areas with KDB prevention measures, even if we have been through a shoe cleaning station.

14-Aug-22
Out in the Waitakeres in the company of Team Welsh today, doing the Arataki and Pipeline Ad Labs and any other caches we came across.
This cache had the four of us searching for a while - and then suddenly there was the cache sitting there in plain sight. How did we all miss that? TFTC

13-Aug-22
2nd one along here today as we walked the trail with Kiwicouple. GPS bounced around and we checked a few places a couple of times before Mrs KC said the happy words "There it is". It was actually in plain sight and I think we uncovered it in our search. Nice to find another one along the way. TFTC

14-Jun-22
Didn't find this one, but I got 2 from 3 at least Smile I had a look on the way up but my coords were bouncing all over the place and showing it as much more than 2 meters off track, so I left it for the way back. Then I realised I needed to leave myself time to get back to the bus stop before it got dark, so I only had a quick look on the way back but couldn't find it again. Next time!

31-May-22
Visiting Auckland from Brisbane to see family. As the rain didn’t eventuate, my son and I decided to come to the Waitakere’s for some walking and geocaching. My gps bounced around a lot but eventually settled and the cache was found along with a tb which has been here for more a while. Tftc

Nice cache!

06-Jan-21
Cool hidey hole. TFTC

31-Dec-20
Quick dash down the side track for this one. With cleaned footwear the time off track is tolerable.

I was keen for a trip out today, being the last day of 2020, and opted for a Waitakere ranges walk at Arataki, followed by an easy drive along some other areas of interest. Paired the normal geocaches up with an Adventure lab to yield double figures of 15 caches. Great views and nice to be out of the blazing sun for a little while. Happy New Year for tomorrow everyone!

26-Oct-20

Ms_KR and I are up in Auckland for a break. We went for a drive to Aratiki to find an ice cream and a few caches.

After a neat visitor to the visitor centre we really enjoyed taking the nature walk and seeing the large Kauri along the way and cathedral of Kauris at the end. Track has been upgraded recently so it is open and in great shape.
We managed to find all 3 of the caches in this series without too much trouble as we went along and all are in good condition. Thanks for the caches.

Took the kids for a hike in the Waitakeres and to collect a few caches on the way which always gets them more excited Smile This was the second find of the day and it took me a few minutes of searching as I didn't know what a Kanuka looked liked.... but now I know.... just a big Manuka Wink TFTC!

10-Jan-16
Yorkshirekiwi83 and I went out for a few hours this afternoon to clean up some more West Auckland caches. We took a walk down this nature trail, a trail I've walked a couple of times before, and found the 3 caches located down here. All caches were quick finds, but as there were lots of muggles enjoying the trails this afternoon, we had to pick the right time to grab each cache. A nice little walk, TFTC!

31-Dec-15
Catching up on some logging.
Needed a break in packing to shift house. Spent day with my parents around Arataki and picking up some Scenic Dr caches.
Admiring the views and enjoying a lovey fine day wondering the bush tracks. TFTC

31-Dec-15
A kereru came swooping down the path not far above head height which was pretty cool. Found the cache without any dramas. TFTC!

28-Dec-15
I found this geocache with Cats&Dragons. He is trying to find as many T2.5 and D2.5 and above rated caches as possible for a challenge he is working on. We left on our mission at 4:30am to get the tides right for a morning paddle and so we could return back to Hamilton at a decent hour. If we had to pass by other caches with lower ratings we generally picked them up as well. We had a great day, the weather was fantastic and the quality of the caches was extremely high. A huge thanks to the CO’s for placing and maintaining such interesting, challenging geocaches in such cool locations.

C&D over shot this one as well, I blame it on a lack of experience Wink I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I found the cache considering the many possible hiding spots here.

28-Dec-15
Well with having to work between Christmas and New Year there was little opportunity to get out and cache different parts of the country so a call was made to iammrwalker to see if he was around and could get a leave pass. All caches were signed as "IAMC&D"
On the affirmative for that plans were hatched which would take in a spot of kayaking, some great short walks up in the Waitakere's and even the results for a couple of previously solved puzzles.

This was the fifth of the day in what could have not been better. Our first walk of the day into the Waitakere's and a great way to start. a very nice spot and one that we both appreciated in being here before all the locals turned up before continuing the days adventures

thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

27-Dec-15
Today Mrs Biggles and I decided to drive from one end of the Scenic Drive to the other. it's been a few years since either of us did that. We managed to find a few caches along the way. After finding the cache in the car park it was time to head through the tunnel for a bit of a bush walk. I thought this one might be a bit tricky but I managed to spot it quickly. TFTC, Biggles.

29-Nov-15
#364 Caching on birthday today. Had to back track to grab this one. Waited on a trail running muggle to pass before we went to GZ. Once there I allowed Geosense to guide us to cache.
TFTC

Searches around a couple of possible spots but four at third. Nice walk in the bush! Tftc

04-Oct-15
GPS was pointing 10m into the bush, but a good clue and something a little telltale had the cache in hand at the first spot searched without damaging everything in sight.

TFTC

04-Oct-15
Started with number three here so after recovering some of our lost elevation we were off in search of this one. Initially arrived at GZ via the wrong end but common sense prevailed and as we found ourselves near the track the cache was quickly found. Another nice little spot here - TFTC
