Departed Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Finally made the northern warmth and the Cape and I'm loving it now I'm back in Cairns again for a few more days before heading south again tomorrow.
We have been to the Cape and are on our way home now having a few more adventures as we go and now I'm back in Cairns again for a few more days before heading south again tomorrow.
Worked out the final coordinates this morning but had to wait until this afternoon to get to GZ, what a beautiful location!
**Thanks for placing this cache Walterhellmut**

Went for a ride and found this one this afternoon. The jar had no lid and contents unrecognisable. Have replaced but it’s larger so a little more obvious unfortunately,
Thanks for bringing us out here, Walter. We enjoyed the adventure on a humid afternoon. Container has seen better days (lid is rusty and not sealing anymore), but the log was dry and could be signed easily. TFTC
I finally got around to solving this Multi and set off for an enjoyable bike ride the entire lenght of the path, stopped to look for the cache on the way back and soon spotted the container, lid was loose and a bit rusty but was able to add my name to the list and return as found.
Thanks Walter for bringing me here and
TFTC

Originally couldn't find it, so we went on a bit of a bush walk for fun, and ended up stumbling across it, never even knew this path was here.

Found this a few months ago but forgot to log it. Thanks to CO who showed me the way to this cache. Lots of mossies but a nice walk and even a swim for the geo-dogs. TFTC Walter.
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 59. Cairns to Chillagoe via Kurranda and Mareeba. With a three hour drive ahead of me, I scouted around for a few caches left in Cairns and saw a few, so I decided to get one before I left and two more on the way to Smithfield before I headed up the range to Kurranda for lunch. I stopped in Mareeba for a break and then headed out to Chillagoe, arriving in the mid-afternoon, allowing enough time to get out to the Archways National park for the Virtual.
I have been to the start car park before, but today I pulled out my scooter and headed off down the bike track. The great concrete paths took me right too the details for this one and then on to the cache. A nice simple Walter cache, I love it !
Thanks for the cache Walterhellmut

We have arrived back in Cairns today, after spending a couple of weeks south with the family.
We are staying very close by in Brinsmead, and so after settling in to our campsite we decided a walk was in order.
With numbers collected for this one, we were hopeful for a find, but noted there had been a previous DNF.
Battling the Brigade of mosquitoes, we were very happy to find the hide very quickly and were able to add our names to the log.
It was then a very pleasant walk back to our base and time to put some plans together for some more adventures tomorrow.
Thanks walterhellmut

Found the power pole, but once had all the numbers wasn’t sure what to do with them. Fortunately, had geodog with me and on way back to the creek for a dip we stumbled upon the right spot - easily identifiable from spoiler pics - and cache was in hand. This is one of Geodog’s most favourite places in the world to visit on a hot day, so big favourite point from her. And thanks Walter for making yet another dog-friendly hide
I’m very lucky to live in this beautiful area and decided to get some exercise in. I tried my hardest to find the power pole with the initial co-ordinates but just found myself staring at some very beautiful, tall trees. I figured I’d get it another day when it wasn’t raining. I followed the bike path back home and was lucky enough to spy the hiding spot that matched the spoiler photos. I put my little gloves on to retrieve my prize. So I’m counting it as a half find as I didn’t get to solve the puzzle first. Hopefully soon I will be allowed to climb the mountains again, but this was a happy find so close to me.
With the geochecker only confirming I had been within a hundred feet yesterday,
I tweaked the coords a bit more last night until ....
... Ah Ha !! The correct coords at last
This morning,
I rolled up to the 'X' on the map,
took the required number of steps ....
.... and there was the cache looking at me !! [:o]
I swear I could hear it laughing at me !!
So I guess I can say "Easy Find, TFTC"
(I'll just erase any memories of the last few days in connection to this one) [:o)]
Fave dance !!
Crikey !!
*Tell young geocachers that this is how finding a cache used to be,*
*and they just won't believe you !!*

Well the geochecker likes my latest set of coords
But a search of GZ this morning revealed no cache !!
Is on the ground or in a tree ??
Time will tell and I will see.
Another look is needed methinks

09.50 - Out and about in the park this morning with my good friend Walterhellmut. Maybe today's outing could be called 'dancing in the rain' as it was raining cats all morning. Anyway Walterhellmut wanted to complete some cache maintenance and I went along. In the process, he brought me into the vicinity of GZ. I then found the priced container and Walter allowed me to log the find. This container was a bit more challenging and had many creepy crawlies - I still can feel them. Thank you Walter for another interesting morning and the good conversations we always have. +/-0. T4TC.
Wading in the potholes led Avoloz and me to the hiding hole. The container is still in an acceptable condition and ready to be found.

A brief check revealed that I had to replace the container. Now everything is alright.

With a virtual Plethora (a large or excessive amount of something) of virtual stages and of no need of a 4/3 I think this cache can "wait a while"
Thanks for the intrigue Walter

Maybe there can be different approaches to Geocaching.
To tick off as many caches as possible from the list to get a high number in a short time could be one.
To lead people to places worth visiting might be another one.
Definitely creating a combination of computing and outdoor activities is intended by Geocaching.
In my first years of Geocaching I learnt really a lot about this area by doing all the old fashioned caches around - more than some locals know. In those days a log entry was not just "TFTC". You could re-enact something about the adventures the fellow cacher went through.
Now it changed its character and is comercialised to a high degree. REDMEAD is my attempt to create one of the old type caches - not just a "#3416 - TFTC - tick off" one[^].
