Stopped for a few caches and an ice cream by the lake. Very cool area. Log is very wet though TFTC

Pleased to make the find here today especially when it has a higher difficulty rating. About to go for a mountain bike track but wanted to pick up a couple of geocaches first. TFTC

In the area collecting some cheap Pittosporum seedlings to plant in our roadside bank that we had cleared of privet and are replanting with native trees. Had to give this one a go although had read the logs and realised it could be a bit tricky. Thankfully Mr Geckoh had his eye in and quickly located the cache. Fortunately, we did not see any cyclists whilst we were searching. TFTC

Log book is super wet, managed to sign one of the last pages.

#393. Been coming to Kinloch for a wee while now and very slowly collecting GCs. Found this one after several cursory attempts previously. Log in pretty damp state but almost dry enough to write in. Zipped the Ziplock might help. Tftc.

Fun hide but in poor condition to wet to write on.

Sadly did not find this cache. It was a very wet search with many leaves around. Found a hole that I thought may have been GZ but got elbow deep with no luck. Planning to revisit and search when next in kinloch hopefully on a drier day!

Came to Kinloch for the day to do some mountain biking. Didn’t realise that there wasn’t a boat race today involve 100 motorboats. The place was busy but once we got down the biking tract it was quieter. Did the Kawakawa loop 30 km which was amazing. That was enough so spent the rest of the afternoon finding local caches. Felt fortunate that I spotted this reasonably quickly as there were lots of options. Thanks

Spendinf a few days in Kinloch for the Great Lake Trail and did some geocaching on the side after dinner while on a walk. Got eaten alive by mosquitoes here!! But of a hunt but got there in the end. Tftc!

Find number 6742. I has previously looked for this one without success so it was back today with plenty of time and a determination to find it. Again it took awhile but got there in the end. Thank you for the placement.

GPS was jumping around a lot at first but after about 20 minutes I got to the right area. So many holes! Was about to give up when I spotted a small rock that didn't really belong... Greetings from Wellington and TFTC

After staying in Taupo for a couple of days, we checked out Kinloch before returning home. We were not having much luck with caches in Kinloch, so after a short search and expanding our search area we were pleased to locate this one close to the path.

Hadn't planned to come over here today. But I love spontaneous trips. Never been over this side of the lake before. But well worth the trip. Nice area. Got to gz and thought this was going to take a while. Hunted around then decided to try a different spot. Came across lid on the ground. Rest was scattered around. Gathered everything up. Log book damp only because it was lying out on the ground. Put back in its hide. Tftc

We were exploring some of the holes, but they turned out to be not "the one with the cache"... Then, when we decided to give up, I spotted something not really far from the way - and yes - there you are my little friend! Box was wet, I emptied it; logbook is soaked with water, but you can still write on it...

Not having much luck with caches in Kinloch, so were relieved to find this one. Staying nearby. TFTC

Great place to explore but couldn't find. Not keen on investigating into too many hiding holes. Son enjoyed climbing around the rocks

Quick run for it in the rain. Now we're wet, and muddy! Fun. Interesting boulders. Found it with our 5yo and 2yo. T4TC.

Bit of a muddy walk to this one but I had my new gumboots so all was good. So many nice walk and bike trails. Got to gz and saw a few options but trusted the gps and got there quite quickly. TFTC

A bit wet under foot round here, but the co-ords were spot on and I was able to get to the GZ with getting too mucky. Presumably these huge boulders were left after the Taupo eruption, Its a bit spooky being so close to them.... TFTC

Stopped off for look while riding from Orakau car park to Whakaipo Bay.
My indicated GZ was in clearing and with so many potential hiding places nearby I only has a cursory look before continuing the ride.

While heading for the great taupo bike ride we came down here to get some smiley faces as we hadnt been down in this area for a few years
It didnt take too long as my garmin 700 GPS is very stable under the trees

Two of us looked and groped in multiple locations, most that fitted the hint, cache name and description. GPS was a little bit unstable but we gave a reasonable tolerance for that. A pity because it's unlikely the cache would be muggled. Checked the climbing area nearby. Will have to return and try again.

I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.

Today the target is seven. It was in the second place I looked.

The area around here was still very wet after all the recent rain, so had to make a short detour to get over to GZ with dry feet. Nice spot. TFTC!!!

Very long time since my last ride here... Today I'm taking sveppi for her longest MTB ride yet. This cache was found first, located by sveppi. I got nervous with the lack of hint and hundreds of possible hiding spots near a rock face that can hinder GPS reception, but I worried for nothing, a couple of minutes turned up the goods. Cache nice and dry, thanks.

Out with fanfan-77 to test my MTB legs. This is the start of our rocking awesome ride. Great track (super pleased to make it to the top without a break). Found after a short hunt. TFTC

This one was tricky as there were so many potential hiding places!! We loved the little competition tag we found in here as well although it had finished by the time we found this. Great to see DOC getting involved! Found about two months ago. TFTC

We had intended going fishing today but the wind had other ideas so we headed out of town to do some caching. Kinloch seemed like a good place to start especially since neither of us have ever been here.

The way to the cache was extremely muddy where we parked so we walked down to the lake and found the start of the track. After a couple of DNF's here we were a bit concerned it might have gone but ahaha Mr S found it in the first place he poked. Cache in good condition and nice and dry inside.

There is an easy way and a hard way to get to the cache. Check out the image for the hard way. NOT THAT WAY for Mrs S.

I've looked for this cache twice now but still can find it:(

Tricky one at first as there were lots of hiding locations. But after working methodically it was found. TFTC.

A ride a out along the headland trail to Kinlock. (Excellent cafe) and back to Whaikapo. An easy find. Took TB TFTC

15.00: Visiting the nice little village of Kinloch, inspecting the rocky end of the bay. Just as we decided to engage the equipment for heavy search (what meant here: headlight) the box appeared right before our eyes[8)]. Nice walk from Kinloch marina. Dear folks at DOC, please add some attributes to your cache!

Weather: cloudy, sun, strong winds from the lake, 16°C;
Wheelchair: possible but some effort required, the dam may be a serious obstacle (rocky, steep path here);
State: all good.

Finished the mountain bike to the Lookout & found this on the way back to my car. Took a bit of ferreting as GPS was a bit shakey. TFTC

This afternoon we thought we'd head out to Kinloch for a look around. This town certainly is peaceful and picturesque. We parked up and made our way over to GZ. The size of these boulders sure are impressive! A few minutes spent looking around and we located the goods, TFTC!

This one definitely took a bit of hunting with phone GPS bouncing around quite a bit. It was so obvious once we found it. Hid well and left a TB too.

Was a hard find. Took a bit of hunting because phone not getting reception but after a bit of crawling around the rocks got there in the end.

Great cache took a bit of hunting and a few spiders but found it in the end in a much easier spot than expected

Down here for an adventure weekend with KiwiLeon, alpenmilch80 and 11hpg11 and found ourselves close by to this one. Wandered down to check it out after a relaxing stay in a nearby bach the night before. With four of us looking all over it was only a matter of time before we had it in hand. Cool spot to come to - TFTC

Out with Alpenmilch80, Evilno9 and 11hpg11 for a weekend in the Pureora's.
After spending the night in the in a local bach we went out to find all the caches in town before heading back home.

After spending Friday night in the Waihaha Hut with the KiwiLeon, Evilno9 and 11hpg11 we decided to have some glambing for Saturday night. For that, we stayed at a local bach and ventured out in the morning to clear out the town. TFTC

A long weekend mission planned with some hardy Auckland cachers. We are heading to Waihaha Hut to stay a night and enjoy the Pureoras. Our team consisted of Alpenmilch80, Evilno9, Kiwileon, and myself. We signed our logs as Team Waihaha to save room in smaller logs.

After staying a cold, yet fun night in the Waihaha Hut, we chose the glamping option of a nice bach for saturday night. A great night at the bach, followed by some sore heads this morning. We decided to clean up Kinloch while we were here and the nice walks were great for the head!

Thanks for bringing us here, Kiwileon made the find here. Some great sized rocks in this little spot.

#7400. Parked on Keitha Place for a walk after lunch. It was all quiet around here today. Found after a short search. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
