Logs

11-Jul-24
Cache is gone and the area has been fenced off and some serious earthworks undertaken. A shame as the cache was only a few inches from the construction site fence. I 'll replace this with a version 2 when the works have moved on.

06-Jul-24
Cache needs to be disabled and area checked by CO, major works at GZ area fenced off

22-Apr-24
Didnt find this one, construction obstructed the path

28-Mar-24
Dnf due to works and workers nearby

24-Feb-24
Thanks for this! Really cute camo. My daughter enjoyed finding it. Though we didnt have a pen!! Rookie mistake.

14-Feb-24
I found this cache today on my Mega Geocaching Walk #12 - a 35,500 step walk from Glenroy Station, through Strathmore Heights, Oak Park, Pascoe Vale and on to Coburg Station. I saw that there was some conversation in the previous logs about this one and that there was over 10 months of unloved here. I spent a little time looking and soon spotted the cache. From sitting down, it was a small lean in and I certainly did not have to step one foot onto the works area. I also think that the "needs maintenance" that was added by a DNFer last August was unjustified. Thanks from D B-A

26-Jan-24
Seems like this series is having a pattern for usjust about to give a skip and then..voulla!

14-Aug-23
Checked today and it's still there and accessible from the track. It is not blocked by the construction site fences and does not need to be disabled.

13-Aug-23
I think you should disable it cause its in a construction site no longer findable

30-Jul-23
I'm starting to not like the walkies series we've only found one out of 5

30-Jul-23

25-Jul-23
Hmm not sure where a micro could be here, fence was easy enough to walk around but still no luck

21-Jun-23
Possibly a casualty of the construction, couldn’t find this one.

01-May-23
No luck today but I'll be back

07-Nov-22
Next time.....

01-Nov-22
No such luck today

27-Mar-22
A day out on the scooters with hergab69, her muggle hubby and spiffy-.
Waited for a few muggles to go past before spiffy- found the cleverly hidden cache. A fav point here for the effort gone into its creation.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Alsume

27-Mar-22
Had to wait for muggle traffic to pass before Spiffy could retrieve the cache and we could sign the log. Great hide. Found while Out on the scooters with OzHockeyChick and Spiffy. TFTC

27-Mar-22
Found at 11:19 am.
OzHockeyChick had the new scooter to try out so we headed over this way with hergab69 and muggle hubby (who came in extremely handy) to a patch a caches that none of us had found and that were also bike path friendly.
Great camo here. A favourite from me.
Thanks Alsume for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

26-Mar-22
All good at GZ. Happy to log this one after searching previously. TFTC

30-Jan-22

Cache was tricky to grab
Skinny fingers needed!

13-Dec-21
Replacement cache back in position today.

10-Dec-21
Offline for container maintenance

30-Nov-21
Had to read several previous logs, resulting in picking up some garbage and confirming that it's not what I am looking for. Took another look before I was about to give up, and the cache caught my attention. It is really fragile and disintegrating, and the log is wet. Thanks for the series!

07-Nov-21
Bit of a stretch for the arms! Great camo

01-Nov-21
__Cat__ and I parked nearby and set off for a morning of geocaching. The plan was to walk up one side of the creek for an hour or so, then come back down the other side of the creek. This was the first for the day, and took a little bit of hunting and perusal of previous logs but __Cat__ managed to find it in the end. Nice hide. TFTC!

24-Sep-21
That was a very clever camo!! Best one so far

10-Jun-21
Took a couple of goes to find it and my dog was getting a bit worried about never leaving one place! Not so easy after the downpour last night but got there in the end. GPS was not a help, jumped from 1 to 6-9 m twice without me moving. Great camo, as always from this CO. Thanks

21-Apr-21
Great camo. Had to be persistent.

21-Apr-21
Great Camo! Maybe a poor choice on my part to cache after a day of rain but got it in the end. Thanks!

29-Mar-21
Again I turned a frown into a smile, my log on the 19/2/21 it turned out I was on the wrong side of the creek. This is the last one for today I think I'll ride back the way I came, all in all a great day out caching. Thanks Alsume for a great day out, a fave from me.

27-Mar-21
Clever camo!

01-Mar-21
Clever cache, spotted on my way back up the stairs. Very nice, TFTC!0

27-Feb-21
Given the dnf to found ratio on this one I thought it was going to take me ages to find this one. As it turned out the sneakily camo'ed cache was located relatively quickly. TFTC Alsume

19-Feb-21
Wandering all over the place with this one so gave up. It's getting hot so on wards to the pedals.

Awesome cache hide! While out early walking along the trail looking for my friends cat I thought I’d find a cache to beat the lost cat ‘blues’. Thanks for the cache Alsume!

19-Jun-20
Must be hidden good

02-Jun-20
Checked and it's still there!

26-May-20
A heap of environmental weeds at GZ - this one a DNF today

19-Apr-20
I couldn't find it

08-Apr-20
Was hunting through foliage on wrong side of path. Then I saw it. Good camo.

02-Apr-20
After two days cooped up WFH I decided to go out and get some exercise. Leaving it until late in the evening so as to avoid other muggles I was about to head home when I remembered I had struggled with this one a while ago. A much quicker find this time around. Sanitized before and after. TFTC

21-Mar-20
Clues on the messages were very helpful. I was stumped as well till I found it.

22-Jan-20
Another great hide and camo

12-Jan-20
I had to read the logs to scrape out a few helpful clues in order to find this one

12-Jan-20
Initially hard to decipher the cache from trash.... so sad to see all the garbage in such a nice little path. SL TFTC, nice container too!

11-Jan-20
Great camo

08-Jan-20
A fairly quick find today. Great camo !
TFTC Alsume

08-Jan-20
Nice quick walk around the block and a nice quick find! Clever cache!

21-Dec-19
This one had gone for a roll, luckily Howard helped find it. My GPSr had died, and I was relying on my phone, so I hope I put it close to where it was meant to be. fantastic camo, really blended in. This was the last Walkies I had to find, I hope everyone enjoys my photos of the GeoMutt at each cache as I did finding them all! Thanks Alsume!

12-Dec-19
i'll have to return on this one!

09-Nov-19
Hard at first. Took a while. TFTC

07-Nov-19
Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a well placed and hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Alsume for another enjoyable cache.

23-Oct-19
after being stumped for a decent 15 minutes I made the find when put hand in right spot. TFTC

23-Oct-19
A nice afternoon ride with Pacman and Anikano exploring the outer suburbs.

This was hidden under foliage, and took FOUR EV OR to finnnnnddddddd!

23-Oct-19
While cycling around the area finding the last of the Parkville caches before they are archived we branched out to these nearby caches.
After a lengthy and needed lunchbreak we made our way north from Esslemont Reserve to do this Walkies series. No dogs or walkies for us out here - it was cycling all the way.
This cache took a group of us 15 minutes to find. And it was so obvious and staring at us all the time, with accurate coords. How did we miss that for so long?! Big Grin
Thanks, Alsume.

Have flown down to Melbourne from Sydney for a 2 week training course at the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport Air Traffic Control Centre, but my main interest will be in collecting as many Victorian (VK3 in HAM radio terms) caches as possible during my free time away from the workplace. My primary caching target areas will be the Woodlands Historic Park (with it’s 100 plus caches), the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail, the Outer Circle Railway Trail, the Donaldson’s Creek Trail, the Ruffey Creek Trail, Eltham (Diamond Valley Railway), and the suburbs surrounding my Essendon apartment. This was the 5th of 10 finds for the day, and the 35th of 242 finds for the trip.

After finishing the day's training I headed back to the Essendon apartment to get changed, then headed out to grab some more caches. Stopped off at Napier Park for a quick "park & grab", then headed down to the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail for some serious caching.

This was the second one I came to, after crossing over to the other side of the canal, and another quick find along the pathway. TNLNSL, and then replaced the nicely camoed cache exactly as it had been found. TFTC Alsume.

Find #3532

Tftc. Bindiana_jones came with me too but he’s not a premium member so his name is on the log for decoration (:

01-Sep-19
Finally the works are finished, the temporary pipes removed from the GZ area and the cache is back in position ready for finding.

21-Jul-19
Sewerage works and workers still all around GZ so can’t put it back in place yet.

04-Apr-19
Offline for the present as there are some serious sewerage pipe works going on within a foot or two of GZ at present. Looks like a temporary above ground pipe has been put in place over a quite a long distance, probably while repairs are done to the main pipe. Not sure how long this is likely to last, but the cache was found out of position and upside down. With workers everywhere it was not likely to last and would have a high muggle factor for potential finders. Best to take it offline for now.

09-Mar-19
Nice neat little hide, hopefully the first of a few for us today.

08-Feb-19
Competitors 12th find. Clever hiding spot

28-Jan-19
Great camouflage! TFTC

Looked around for a while before noticing something and the cache was soon in hand. Cool camo. All in good condition. TFTC

25-Jan-19
Checked after the warning from the last finder , only to find the cache vandals had been here as well. The lid and log sheet were on the ground a couple of metres away from the rest of the cache. Put it back together inside the camo and replaced it in position.

24-Jan-19
After a nice short holiday in Australia we dropped off our campervan at Apollo's and walked our way back to Strathmore finding some caches on the way. Most of them where easy finds, but some kept us busy for a while. Thansk for hiding!

Found the remnants of the cache and its container. Contacted the CO te let know.

20-Jan-19
I had to pick up a slide for the kids from Airport West this morning so I decided to do a few hours caching while I was out this way. I saw this nice looking strip of parkland which was chock full of caches - so I was on my way! I loved this container, very tricky! Loving this area, thx for bringing me here Smile TFTC!

01-Jan-19
Nice camo . Thanks

30-Dec-18
Another day and with a welcome cool change I thoght it wise to get some exercise in. So I set off for the balance of the Woodlands series including the final and then onto clean up the balance of another series, Walkies down in Oak Park.
Most caches were found with only a couple eluding my gaze. Thanks to nirgalagrin for the company on the Walkies series.

30-Nov-18
I found a couple of the walkies series earlier in the year and meant to come back along the trail and complete the rest, so here I am. A great walk along the creek with caches to find along the way. Life is good.

28-Oct-18
Just about to give up thinking the cache camo was too clever for us and Mr Glish spotted it! Whew!! Very clever! Cache in good, dry condition.

04-Aug-18
Checked tonight and its still in position

04-Aug-18
Yrp

04-Aug-18
No biscuits today

24-Jul-18
Another day out on the bike & first cache of the day!

21-Jul-18
This was a clever little hide. The satellites kept sending me a bit further away and to a location that also seemed likely, but soon was discounted. A little observation and there it was, with my signature now on the log.

Thanks to Alsume for placing this cache.

18-Jul-18

Would have been easy. If I would have looked at my GPS from the beginning... Nice cache, thank you!

29-Mar-18
After I finished my work commitments in the city I had a few hours to spare before I had to head to the airport and home. I decided to try and find a few caches along and around this trail. I worked my way up one side of the stream and then back down the other. Nice one! Took me a while to spot what I needed to spot but I did get it eventually. TFTC, Biggles.

25-Feb-18
Had been in Melbourne to catch up with family. Up early and enjoyed a short walk to grab a few nearby where we stayed. Enjoyed making this neat little hide which was safe and snug in it's hidey hole.
Thanks Alsume for placing the cache for us to find.

24-Feb-18
Today was my monthly outing with Biggles Bear, as well as the 2017 Caching Awards event, so we did some before the event, and then more after the event. Another nice and relatively quick find.

Thanks to Alsume for the cache.
