Logs
Up in this area for a few days and having a great time walking and geocaching. We walked the Reotahi coastal walk then climbed up here and walked along the ridge back to Little Munroe Bay. A fantastic afternoon and happy to find this cache quickly. TFTC
This morning, I set out to complete the Mount Aubrey walkway, leaving from the carpark that we'd stayed overnight in the campervan. Another quick find here. I think that a black-backed gull nest is nearby, as I was harassed by one of them while I was signing the log. Log dry, returned as found. Tftc!
Hint so obvious when you find it, I certainly wouldn't want to be here in an earthquake and thats the last place I'd hide.
It took a few tries at gz before we finally found the cache. Not sure how we kept missing it.
Thanks for putting this here
Thanks for putting this here
Due to the COVID-19 Level 4 Lockdown 2021 I am sadly temporarily disabling all of my geocaches.Stay home to help others stay safe.
Meet some people up here who I introduced to caching. After searching a couple of spots we found this nice hide, cheers
What great view. My daughter and I swapped pics , she’s at work across the harbour and I’m way up here. Back at ya.
Out with scouts on a trek. So had to find a few caches on the way. Second one while scouts do some resection map reading!
Easy find once we located the right spot. Was keen to carry on to next cache but just to hot and limited time.Tftc.
Walked up to grab a few caches. Not sure how we missed gettingbthis one when we were last in the area. Nice easy find and a great view. Thanks for the cache.
Disabling for COVID19 Level 4 guidelines (see Geocaching New Zealand Facebook page).
After a discussion about which was the skytable we peered in a few places then went back to the first place and there it was! TFTC
My first thought about what constitutes a sky table turned out to be correct, but my initial search was incomplete. CatNich went back to the same place and had her hands on it. Fabulous ridge and great views don’t take that much effort.
Nothing seemed to click into place for this one. Whats a sky table? Will try again next time
Nice find on our hike. Fortunately, just made it back to the car in time before it started to rain. TBs out. Tftc!
After finding this cache I kept getting asked where “is the next one?”. I think we have three caching converts! Tftc.
We found this cache with alanwito's six and eight year old niece and nephews, and it was their first ever cache. As we are acting as caching missionaries I was pleased to see they were very excited! I think we have three converts. TFTC!
The kids and I came down from Okaihau for the Reotahi snorkel day. We saw lots of little fish in the reserve and we really enjoyed the swim. We then walked the Mt Aubrey track from the Reotahi carpark. It was a hard walk going mostly uphill to here. I'm not sure I'd like to do this loop the other way around. Those stairs from Tillar Park to here would be really hard work going uphill. Great views along this walkway and the sky table was well done. Couldn't help thinking of Aslan here. I've done lots of earthquake drills at school so the clue led me straight to GZ. Thanks
I joined up with hotrodpete this hot summer's afternoon to take a hike around Mt Aubrey and look for the caches around there. I've only been up Mt Aubrey once before, and that was just up and down from the summit, so it was nice to walk the full loop today. After a short hunt around GZ, the well hidden cache was soon in hand. Nice views from here and a nice cooling breeze coming through too. TFTC - favourite point for the views!
On a geocaching mission over Mt Aubrey and around the coast track to Reotahi this afternoon to see if we could log a few more local caches. This was the first on our list as we climbed up from Tiller Park - a quick find at the "sky table" but too windy today to stay long.
Lovely day for a walk over Mt Aubrey. Stopped for the view at the sky table and thanks to the earthquake clue, quickly found the cache. TFTC.
Beautiful day for a hike! Grabbed a geocoin that was not listed, so will " dip" it & move along. TFTC!
I'm visiting from Phoenix Arizona! I always love caching adventures because I find so many neat spots. Thank you for bringing me to this lovely area!
What a great cache wonderful outlook and good hide not to hard to locate and nearly a clean log sheet thanks for the cache:);):)
(1596) Nice to pick up another first to find. I have always enjoyed this walk and with a bit of extra light in the evenings I had the chance to pick this one up. What a great view from GZ. Well worth the effort to get there. TFTC
