I really enjoyed this cache, excellent location, great views. It was pretty windy up there high above the sea but nice and sheltered at GZ, a good spot to have a bit of a rest after the decent walk up. TFTC
Had a rummage around the gorse and then thought about it. Log in great condition. Great hide and worth a favourite. Fabulous views and love the hide. TFTC + FP
Found 26/6. Only a few places it could be hidden and I'm glad it wasn't prickly! Cheers for bringing us down here.
Great view from up here, and out of the breeze for a short time. Thanks for putting this cache here, certainly adds a bit to a nice walk in the hills, tftc.
After completing a year long find streak where (among other things) I felt the need to often cover ground that I was familiar with, it is good to again be able to geocache normally. It didn't matter today if I took some wrong turns and ran out of time - I could just return another day to try again.
I had identified a good place to start my hike but it did feel very much that I was on private property until I spotted a sign that proved otherwise. There was a stretch in the middle of my hike that I had been on before but the rest was all new territory and I enjoyed the journey. Nearing the cache site, I made some good decisions about which route to take and I was able to get to where I needed to be without having to backtrack and try a different way. I soon found the nicely hidden treasure which is in top notch condition.

A great view on a stunning afternoon. Came up from Silverstream Rd, looking for the Critter Caches. Found cache with a little thought, nicely tucked away. All good inside. Now heading back down to Huntleigh Park Ave. Tftc!
What a magic spot - after finding the cache I sat and lapped up the views for awhile since it was still warm despite being in the shade at this point of the day. Once I spotted the general area of GZ I knew I was on to something and I was glad to find the cache in good condition. TFTC.
Took the geohound for a walk up the hill this afternoon with the intention of finding a few caches. Seemed quite steep heading up from Huntleigh Park Way in Ngaio, or maybe I’m just getting old! A sunny day and great views, but very windy in exposed places.
Heading back down the hill when I detoured to this one and found it after a brief search, the last one of four successes, along with two DNFs! #3474. TFTC.

Today was the day that I decided I had to get out into the fresh air and get some exercise to save what's left of my sanity.
Headed out reasonably early to walk across Ngaio, and up through Huntleigh Park and then up and across to the ridge, and then down the spur. Yes there were others around enjoying the sunshine (You certainly can't beat Wellington on a good day) but we were able to maintain a decorus distance at all times.
GZ was clearly apparent as I approached, but where exactly was it? Oh yes, there - nicely tucked away, and protected from the elements. Was it really not found for almost a year? Well the logbook bore that out. Signed and safely returned, but I spent a few minutes playing the age -old game of 'can I see my house from here?' - I think so.
Now back down the hill again using a different (new?) track, and home again via the dairy for a pack of ice creams.
TFTC - another one to add to the 'needs a FP when I have one again' list.

Lovely view spot on a sunny day. Obvious where it was hidden unless you are in to acupuncture with gorse. TFTC

Well, this is quite an unloved cache for some reason, is it because there are no tracks to it on the map?
And MEGA crowds have missed this one as well. But we didn't! After doing a wherigo in Ngaio, we went for a walk on the hills, learned about critters on our way, visited Crow in its nest and then, on the way down, we went down to get high!
As we breathed in the cache smoke, our hearts sank and feet rose, then we exhaled a thich puff of clouds and started walking on them. What was that? Was that a tupperware rock or rockware tupper? I think I saw a kite tonite! Nuff said.
TFTC!

Grabbed on the way back from the "Crow's Nest" cache. Nice quick find and the driest cache we found today.
Nice walk this evening. A bit of off track nav. Always good. All good here. TFTC
In Wellington again catching up with friends and family. A day to myself - so with a new Nigel Navigator to try out - so lets go walking. No one about today, A bit windy but fine today.
A quick easy find here with a great view of Wellington. Cheers

What better way to wait out muggles than find another cache?! Quick find so guess I'm not high — cache hunting could be new police test Cheers GSEL.
Well that descent was fun. Felt like the thick grass was about to swallow us! Great fun. Tftc
Found it!
After approaching from the wrong direction, and much effort, I eventually worked out my mistake.
Ngaio school was on the field, cross country I believe, I could here them from the gz (honestly I could).... above the wind....
I think once I got there, this is the best view and quietest gz, I have visited so far. Just far enough away from muggle pathways to have the quiet factor.
A morning expedition, leapt off from Huntleigh Park way. Not sure if its the easiest route. Out for a moderate days caching, 2nd of nine.

I thought i knew where this would be hidden as I approached, until i realised that it would be too close to a nearby cache. Actually the cache was nowhere near as high as I'd anticipated. Getting down to it for an easy find was no problem. Getting back up to rejoin the track down to Huntleigh was a different issue through 12-18 inches of thick grass. Really glad to have this ticked off.

I didn't have issues getting here since I thought I "chose" a fairly obvious route. Even from GZ I didn't see any alternative way I could have got here. As the distance counted down to zero it became clear where the cache would be generally hidden and a short search on arrival revealed a great little hiding spot. Great view over to Mt Kaukau and over towards the harbour. The return trip the way I came was rather hard work and I came very close to twisting an ankle when the ground was not as it appeared. I managed a deliberate collapse before the ankle could take any weight so I was good to go again. Phew. Thanks for the adventure!
A great view from a different location Now just the climb back to the top - only 10 years ago you could just carry on down and skirt the gorse clumps! Tftc
Thought we had found the high but looking at the GPSr it told us that we were still 150 metres away and had to drop down to GZ. No bush bashing but the knee high grass bashing was nearly as bad. Cache was a quick find once we got there and then it was a careful descent down as the path was very dry and potentially slippery. TFTC
I decided I'd escape the paint brush for a bit this afternoon and go for a walk. This fitted the bill nicely as it wasn't too far from home. Got up to GZ in a little over 16 minutes from my chosen starting point. I'm not sure if I was on a "Natural High" or just worn out when I got there, the former hopefully. My Optical Heart Rate Monitor linked to my Fenix 3 watch gave me a maximum bpm of 152 with an average of 131bpm for the up hill trip, just into the Threshold zone. Good spot for a cache with some nice views. Pleased to report that although the cache hasn't been found in a wee while its in good nick. Cheers and TFTC
Logging this while still at GZ (and catching mybreath). A bit of a hike up from Awarua Street as my preferred route. A bit cross country and here i am. Great view across the cityon a fine and breezy afternoon. TFTC !
A beautiful morning for a walk with TregearP after a week of crap weather. We came at the GZ from above which is perhaps not the fastest route, but nice to blow the cob-webs out after a week in the office.
Dropped off an aviation related TB which is quite appropriate given this cache is on the flight path for the ATR72-600 from Christchurch in a Southerly which it was today, and on the day I brought the TB north from Christchurch.
All in good order, TFTC.

A really nice day for an early morning stroll up the skyline trail. Cache found quickly and all in good order. TFTC
#359. Today was the day to head up into the hills - a glorious, sunny day with very little wind. The last time I made this climb was on an epic 3hr cache hunt from the bottom of Huntleigh, up to Skyline and across to Mt Kau Kau last summer. Even though I started further up the track today, it was still a workout getting "high". Tftc!
A quick find this morning after a pleasant walk in the park to get here. It was sheltered on the way up but once I reached the ridge running down from the Crow's Nest the full force of the wind hit me, it would have been at least 100 km/h. I was glad to escape it and get into comparatively still air again on the way down. Cache is all good, found it in the second place checked. Signed log, TFTC!
Cache # 2,731 - a great FTF to begin the day. Signed log at 06:48 this morning, with brilliant sunshine and a very strong wind at GZ. Cache an easy find, and certainly got a "high" out of the experience. Saw the notification come through last night, and wondered if anyone would be keen enough to do it in the dark. Apparently not, and I was elated to see a blank log sheet this morning. Met half of the Huhugrub team on the way down, about 25 minutes behind me. We had a nice chat, having crossed paths numerous times in the last several weeks without actually running into each other.
Passed several other caches on the way here, all of which will wait for their appointed days as I continue my daily streak. thanks for placing this cache in such a lovely spot! And of course a favourite point for the FTF, but worthy of one regardless.

#7179. 2TF @ 07:15. Good to return to Ngaio for another energetic walk. Turned out to be a fine, sunny but relatively breezy morning. On the way up, met The Wandering Dragons who had already completed the find. Good catching up. The tracks were otherwise quiet at this time. Great views at GZ. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

#797. 3TF @ 8.00.
When I realised this cache would require a similar route to a couple of FTFs I had a year ago, I knew it should be my find for the day. I didn't expect to be a serious contender for a FTF though, having had to get the junior Wicms ready for school first. As I navigated the streets of Ngaio I saw a Huhugrub going the other way, so I knew the FTF had already been claimed. The trail was nice and dry, and I didn't see another soul the whole time. Got high, about as high as you can get on this trail, before dropping down to the cache site. The knee divots in the grass from the previous finders showed me where to look, and it was a reasonably quick find. A nice spot and a view from a new angle.
TFTC; nice to get the day's high (er, find) ticked off nice and early.
