Find number 7785. My daughter is doing the Te Araroa trail And I have been a support person for a few days as she paddled the Whanganui [I was the other in the canoe] and cycled from Pipiriki to Whanganui. A 7pm crossing of the river at Koitiata where I met her and we camped for the night. An early start as she set off to walk to Bulls and I cached my way back to Hamilton. Doing just specific caches.
Another quiet area around the lake though there were people staying further north of GZ. Thank you for the placement.

Just spent a couple of days in Taupo and now heading to Turangi. Stopping for a few caches. Got to GZ to find a plastic bag with some goodies as per the last activity. Had a search for anything else I could find but came up empty handed. Decided to replace the cache and log as I’m not sure that these DOC caches are being maintained. Thanks for the smiley.
Great day for grabbing a couple of caches with the grandkids on the way home from the mountain.
Easy find but cache definitely needs maintenance and a new log book. Old one is pretty much turned into paper pulp in bag
Having a great day caching around the lake. So many hidden spots! Tftc (Should get a bonus point as the cache with the most cockroaches eek)
Found it and it.was smashed up. Have put it up in a tree and inside a plastic bag.
I had been on a weekend roadtrip up to the big smoke to attend a mate's 50th party this evening, but now was the big drive back home. But it's also a great opportunity to try to grab some caches on my way.
Once parked up near GZ, it only took a few moments to locate this cache thanks to accurate co-ordinates. I had retrieved and signed the log but before I could replace it another car came nearby so I had to wait for them to leave again before I could safely replace the whole thing exactly as found and went back to the car to crack on with the drive home.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Stopped in this very pleasant rest area while on the way north with Talla64. No-one around today, perhaps because it's a bit drizzly. Thanks for placing a cache in this nice area.
Found this with Flowerydaze on our trip north. Not many people around probably because of the drizzly conditions. Tftc
Passing through on our way across the country in the campervan and we stopped to grab this one. Saw at least three Kereru while we were here
Quick find on the way home from a weekend away. Very wet inside cache but able to sign the log. Lovely beach.

Nearly the last one before we call it and beeline it home.....
The sun had just gone down so lucky to find it before dark, nice spot, no illegal campers out today, almost tempted to stay the night...

It’s the first day of the Christmas holidays and stopped here by the lakeside for brunch. Cache found fairly easily with navigation pointing the right way. Needed to do a bit of climbing through undergrowth TFTC
On a roadie (from Tauranga) with grand daughter for school holidays. I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers
Yesterday was a big day for me and rustynz. She collected her 5000th cache on Mnt Ruapehu and I did the same with my 7000th cache. What an awesome adventure, something we will never forget!!
But the legs are telling me I over did it - yet again, and today, she and I and Rebel98 (her hubby) are eventually heading home along the Desert Rd, after doing some maintenance on my 3 Sisters cache. Rusty wanted to pull in here (seeing Rebel has done it) and so we did. Rebel has done this cache and today he found it in seconds before I even had a chance to have a proper look. That was alright, no complaining from me! Now we're heading towards Taupo for a hot soak in the hot pools.

A quick detour of the state highway to visit this nice wee spot. All safe and dry, TFTC
This is quite a little maze once you get off the main road with lots of cars parked in odd places but no one around where we wanted to be. Cache located quickly. TFTC
Heading north once again following an early morning meeting in Turangi it was time to collect a few on the way home.
THe sun was out, the skies were clear and the traffic moving slow along the shore of the lake.
An interesting little diversion into this cache and it wasn't too long before it was in hand and then it was back off and heading north once again. Am surprised to locate a DOC cache that isn't filled with water adn rotting logbooks.
Nice quick find and cache was in great condition.
Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

Fairly fast find, even though DOC does not like using hints.. =)
Interesting spot.. it looks like camping has been allowed here, but now signs say no.. even though there is a perfectly working drop toilet on site..
Found at 11:59 - #8635 - on a 5 week trip in New Zealand

Today was part one of my road trip home to Nelson from Auckland, after picking up my son's "new" car from Napier... with time to find a few caches along the way, of course. Nice one! All good here. Cache found nice and quick. TFTC, Biggles.
Number two on our “no snoozing” mission! Saw a quail too! Such a beautiful spot. TFTC
Mum, 13YO and 6YO checked out the beach (13YO skimmed some stones - his best was 8! - though only 4 when others were watching )
Mum had a duh moment when she realised what the cache name was. Grabbed the TB to take with us for an adventure.

An overcast afternoon so had time to take a drive and find a few caches. This little maze of lake access roads is great and finally time for us to drop off our Canadian twins at a tanekaha with plenty of epiphytes. Great that DOC is involved in this support of people getting outdoors and enjoying and learning about the environment.
The first DOC cache we have found in the North Island, although we have found a few in the South. We appreciate the effort made for Conservation week and this was a good spot for one as it took us to a surprisingly big area by the beach.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Nice location, definitely worth a stop and a cache. Thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks DOC nice find beautiful place. Have placed some additional.swag im as was looking a bit bare.
Away for a few days in our newly acquired camper and headed out today to do a couple of local caches. We avoided looking at the nude sunbather on the beach at GZ, silly woman, and Mr S soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks DOCCNI. Always good to find one of yours. Keep it up, taking us to places we didn't know about.

On our drive to Wellington from Rotorua. Great spot for a little stop, watch some rocks float and find a cache. Visiting from Virginia, US. TFTC. Cache in good shape
Thanks DOCCNI for the cache. This is our find number 745 and we found it at 3:53 PM on 14 December 2017. Nice find in a lovely spot.
Walksabit and I are now touring the North Island after spending 23 days on the South Island. Today we are travelling from Mangaweka to Taupo and this cache was along the way. I love being by the water so when I saw the word "beach' we had to stop. I was surprised at how narrow the beach was but the sand was clean and very soft. TFTC
Greetings from Ottawa, Canada

Stopped in on way up north, roads are full of big puddles. Awesome find with the help of our kids who love treasure hunting! TFTC
Well done DoC! Thanks for bringing us to this awesome spot. Found quickly with the assistance of kiwi_adventurer junior. TFTC!!
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is only two but thought I might get a couple more that were close by. I saw this one pop up on my GPS on my way back to town and just had to sign it off.
Cheers for the cache.

Cache quickly found having walked through this area having parked a little away so I could enjoy the sunshine in this quiet area. Many thanks
Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer celebrating her taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

Out with Red Roaming on our tour of New Zealand, which we are loving. What a nice sunny day it is now, after a very wet start. So after drying out and having lunch at the hostel we decided to venture out again. Cache found with no problems. TFTC
After a weekend of mad caching in the Manawatu we headed home to Auckland today via a few caches of course! A 6 hour trip took closer to 8, but we had fun and the sun was shining, so the journey seemed easy. TFTC!
Making our way home from MEGA and finding just a few caches along the way. We called in to this pleasant reserve for a quck look around and to find this cache. Thanks.
Sorry about the late logging. Checked out a discrepancy between our GSAK and online numbers and found 6 unlogged caches from today.

Heading north to Taupo today and planned to do some park and grabs. After finding the way in it was a fairly quick find. TFTC.
A quick find after we negotiated the way in. Thanks for placing the cache here for us and others to find and for enhancing our drive north today. [^][^]
Having had a fantastic weekend at the Mega we decided to pick up a couple of the drive by caches on the way to Taupo. Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish and I had no trouble finding the beach beside the beach
Day 8 of our Mega Roadtrip. Playing abit of leap frog running into the same geocachers who are all leaving town at the same time after the Mega weekend. This time we bumped into ABCDF4 who had just returned the cache but still had the pencil so they passed it off to us to return it. We also picked up a GC from here. Thanks for the smilie
Had a great time at the Turangi Mega caching with Rosmar, Renelm and Indiana Jill aka INTGEO.
Indiana Jill and I stayed on for an extra day to continue the hunt. Also, to avoid the long weekend traffic.

With Merlot58 and Aidan29...slowly making our way back northwards after the Turangi Mega.
Merlot was on to this one straight away, while I was still looking for the beach! tftc

Amazing spot blessed to have time here .so many little parks in between the trees right on lake
Found on our way home to Tauranga after the Turangi Mega Event (2016). A fabulous weekend with many caching highlights along the way . Thank you for your cache, much appreciated.
The time at the mega is over, and it is time to head north making my way towards the Bay of Plenty where I haven't been before as I don't have to fly home until next Saturday from Auckland. Made it to about 20 minutes south of Rotorua today caching along the way.
Another 3 team group find, and the first team on scene grabbed it while I was getting out of the car. Nice spot by the lake, thanks DOCCNI.

Glad I had the help of caching friends who had found it already. They knew how to turn this one in to a drive-by. Nicely done thanks.
Well for the first time in 4 days I was caching alone, on my way home from the 2016 Turangi MEGA. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks the accurate coords, a good hint and straight forward placement. This appears to be an awesome spot for camping - little private bays for campers to set up and enjoy the perfect view. Cheers DOCCNI - TFTC
Pulled in to the maze of road tracks that run through here. Had the spot quickly located and the cache found. Although we were stopped for less than a minute a nearby parkup came to check out what we were up to. We knew what they were up to.
After saying goodbye to Turangi, I headed north and picked up several caches I skipped on the way down due to rain. TFTC.
Time to log our little trip to the Mega in Turangi. Enroute we detoured via Feilding for the Yumfest dinner, a night cache and a bit of puzzle gathering. Of course there were traditionals, a few multis, some earthcaches and lots of coffee stops to endure. Most found with bkj97, Edvern or the crew we stayed with in Turangi. Now of course the task of logging them all becomes a necessity. My apologies for the "cut and paste" logs. I will add favourites where I think it was particularly memorable. Thanks to all the cache owners for giving us things to do on our journey. It seemed strange to drive back to the Kapiti Coast post Mega without stopping for any caches. Happy caching. TFTCSL
#2450 Found during Mega 2016 in Turangi. A great road trip and weekend of fun for all.

Turangi Mega Event NZ Day 3
Today we chose to tour the western side of Lake Taupo, picking up caches as we made our way along.
What a great way to visit this very scenic area. Mountains & Lakes views from every turn in the road
Thanks for placing this cache DOCCNI

A lovely sunny Mega16 Sunday and TeamBMMR are out and about claiming caches as we come across them. Luckily for the youngest & oldest team members there was a functioning loo close to GZ, nice and clean and cool in the shade. R decided a nearby firepit needed restocking so set to rebuilding it while B & M2 made the find. B firmly squashed R's intention to light the fire and we were off to take the boys fishing at the Tongariro Hatchery for the kids open day. TFTC!
A road trip with BKJ97, Little Blue Hen, Yeetrees (Mr & Mrs) and WB1116 on a days outing from the MEGA. WB1116 with his longer strides found the cache first while the rest of us were moments behind.
Nice little areas amongst the tress on the lake frontage, would be even better if all the blackberry could be killed off to make the views even better and the area more scenic and pleasant.
TFTC.

Found with the rest of the crew en route to Taupo for the day while attending the Mega in Turangi. Nice little detour through the woods. TFTCSL
another quick wee find thanks while attending the Mega. sorry for such late log.
#2482 Turangi MEGA weekend with Nic-Jay and keewee- Saturday: Turangi to Craters of the Moon and quite a few caches in between after the opening spiel and half of the lab caches at camp. Perfect day for it- lovely weather and stunning views. Quick find here. Nic-jay had already found this one so left keewee and I to make the find. TFTC!
Here for the nzmega. Beautiful day for a spot of geocaching, perfect weekend really.
