Sadly not today, did not find at 9:55 am
Came for a drive to the falls this morning.
Sad to see the area so badly burned although we could still get down to the falls.
Very sceptical that this one is still here, everything at GZ is cactus. I suspect this was on a sign and the sign (burned with everything else) has been cut up and tossed to the other side of the carpark, rangers are cleaning up and rebuilding everything.
This one needs checking or should be disabled.
**Thanks for placing this cache Rollmatrix**

With Melbourne Cup day on Tuesday we had a 4 day weekend to go on a mini road trip. We chose this area so we could visit friends near Merimbula and maybe visit the coast to spot a whale or two. This cache was another opportunity to stop for a quick stretch.
Thank you for your cache and adding to our road trip memories.

Heading to Lakes Entrance from Merimbula, picking a few caches along the way to break the journey.Found easily, although I'm not sure that's where it is meant to be.

Catching up with some late logs.
After having a fun filled and very hectic time finding caches and catching up with friends at the Queensland Outback Geo Muster 2019 we are now taking a bit more leisurely trip home but also grabbing the occasional cache.
As this one was two for one park this was a definite stop. We decided to look for the trad first as there were no muggles in the car park and after we located it we found the log and the container quite wet so we put the log book in the sun on the dashboard and the container on the roof of the ute to dry hoping that if another geocache happened to turn up while we were doing the earth cache they would see what was going on and wait for our return.
We arrived back at the car and now the log and container were nice and dry so we added dour name and returned everything as it was.
Thanks Rollmatrix for bringing us here.

Have visited these falls many times, before I was a geocacher. Easy find. Log very wet and nearly impossible to sign. TFTC
Found by Mary and David at 14:40:00. Today we start for home after a great week in Queanbeyan at the Clear Waters Mega. Good to be back in Victoria after a month away. Warned about mozzies, so sprayed well. Fancy having two caches from the same parking spot! Our thanks to Rollmatrix.
I was off in the bush looking for this until the penny dropped, doh, but gotcha!

**This was 1 of 16 caches that was found by me on the 10th of 16 caching days here in Australia. Which also was the 47th of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**
Since I wanted to visit the falls to find the earthcache there we searched for this one before going down to the creek.
*Together with Ingabo, jsson and Sivun I would spend 16 days in Australia. Our journey started in Melbourne and ended in Sydney. After that I continued to New Zealand while the others headed back towards Melbourne.*
*All in all I did manage to find 263 caches, 9 types, 3 new months and many more statistical fillers.*

Aiming for the nearby EC both for a challenge I'm slowly working towards completing and for a country road atlas map I thought we ought to find this one given we parked almost right next to it. As appears to be customary, nirgalagrin was into the vegetation in a shot which had the consequence of overshooting the mark. To be fair our devices appeared to be a little wonky when trying to lock down GZ and he shouted out that I should check the sign. Well, what do you know? There it was and there was another map added to the collection.
A road trip east instead of west! nirgalagrin and I had been planning a trip out over to Mt. Gambier but given the forecast of rain, rain and more rain all through the weekend we scrambled to replan the trip aiming for the other side of the state. As it happened we went a little further than just the border and explored the NSW south-eastern coast. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches found along the way.

"Just one more Earthcache..."
Uh huh.
The price of a glorious sunny day in winter is that it's bloody cold when the sun goes down, and it was pretty darned late when we rolled past the mounds of gravel to get to the trail for the falls. But first...
The needle sent me further than I needed to go by several metres, but the clue meant I could shout to leafotwind that he should possibly try... there!
Rollmatrix, thanks for the cache. Now we'll tread down to see the falls by torchlight. Because it's there. Because we can.
---
Road trip!
leafotwind and I had meticulously planned a trip in the opposite direction to fill a few gaps on a variety of challenges, but with the weather forecast to be reminiscent of an Activities Week tour of all the wet holes in the southwest of the state when I was in high school, a mad scramble ensued to come up with a scheme to complement those goals towards the eastern border instead.

What was to have been a quick weekend trip to Melbourne to accompany leafotwind on his 3,000th cache find (since I had also recently completed the Victorian Premiers whereigo ) became an 8 day trip because there was a CITO [^] at Traralgon the next day which then led to Mallacoota and the Snowy Mountain Highway [^] since I couldn't legally use the Great Alpine Road as I didn't have snow chains because the boring freeway back to Melbourne and then back to Shepparton didn't sound like fun
The first day, I met my sister in Bendigo as she waited for her semi to be unloaded and reloaded, so we went op shopping in the meantime[:X] From there it was off to Melbourne and the group find of the Victorian Premiers whereigo which had taken me to many spots in Victoria [^] Then the group slogged our way up a slippery, muddy slope [|)][xx(] to get a couple of simple drive by 4 x 4 caches (when the tracks are open) before caching on into the night
I made a find on a previous DNF at Moe then it was off to Clean Up a Creek at Traralgon [^] followed by finding some bloody good caches (both containers and reasons for placement) around the area with leafotwind, NoWorries andAlphaDeltaIndigo [:X], chatting to Crisp image as the group found Wherever I Lay My Hat before Rex and I left the group, walking in the Crinigan Road Bushland Reserve at dusk[^], seeing a huge Dr21 dredger once used for coal mining and now placed at Morwell, finding a tiny grave in the middle of a shopping area , finding my 1st 3D printed cache container and then it was off to the Lakes Entrance area and wandering out on the peninsula[^]
Seeing old RAAF airfields and radio bunkers, seeing tiny country towns and meeting some great people (including an almost muggle woman and her children in Mallacoota where she had previously looked for 1 cache and who may now get into geocaching properly [^]), seeing the sun rise while surrounded by kangaroos and standing on the eastern coast of Vic and chatting with Rollmatrix throughout my time in Mallacoota and Genoa
Spending a few hours chatting with a lovely truckie, Michael [:X], who was on a wood chip run to Canberra as we traversed the countryside in the dark (after I had apologised for slowing down his fully laden rig as Harry crawled his way up a hill ) then I pulled into Cooma for a break and an EC and also found a cache, Southern Cloud, about the aircraft accident and then accidentally ended up at another memorial cache, Southern Comfort, Southern Cloud or Southern Storm, later on in the trip
Seeing brumbies amongst the snow along the edge of the road at night in the mountains in NSW [^], seeing a thermal pool early in the morning with steam rising from it in the cold air and water plants growing up from the sandy bottom [^], seeing the grave of the alleged Man from Snowy River while finding the multi The Man from Snowy River - HCPPP [^] and then chatting to SciFiRulz who I managed to sneak in a quick visit with before heading home and finding The Highest Railway Station on the way
Over the 8 days there was 9 DNFs (although I did manage to find a few on my 2nd attempts ), 1 CITO event attended and a total of 111 cache finds including 3 FTFs
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

This one was found and replaced last time in a spot I didn't think it would be. I found it with the geo kids after reading the hint and moving off. I replaced it where the hint suggested. Nice walk down to the falls which was an impressive location. Dropped a new cache container with a lof in it as the other was destroyed.

Good news is that we found it and enjoyed our walk to the falls.
Bad news is that it had been removed from its hiding spot, thrown on the ground and squashed by car wheels.
The container naturally had been broken, the log was gritty and wet but still usable. Sorry we had nothing on us to replace it with. We put it all together and hid it nearby do others could still log in. Will include photo for you.

I sought out some geocaches while on a six-day trip with others from Pedal Power in Canberra to East Gippsland to ride the East Gippsland Railtrail. I found 32 caches plus I collected two travel bugs to share the journey. The weather was fine and mild, the scenery delightful and the company pleasant, making for a great trip.
This cache was a reasonably straightforward find, being within a few metres of the coordinates. The falls were a delightful spot and I wouldn’t have known they were there but for geocaching! Thank you Rollmatrix for installing and maintaining this cache.

14679. Found during a long weekend caching run down through the Bombala / Genoa / Mallacoota / Cann River / Orbost / Lakes Entrance / Bairnsdale regions with specimenX.
A long weekend caching plan was hatched with specimenX to head down to Victoria for 4 days of caching and camping. Had a fantastic time driving around enjoying the scenery, camping at various locations, plus the huge number of caches to be found. Day Two dawned and we had survived the rain. Packed up and hit the road. Next find of the day. Interesting set up of the cache here. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.

Quick park and grab with just enough room to turn around with caravan in tow. Worth the walk down to the pretty falls. TFTC
Found as we wind our way from Melbourne to Canberra the long way around picking up some stray map zones for a challenge cache as we go. Being dedicated caches we never take the shortest direct route to anywhere, except the next cache of course. After taking care of the cache we took the walk down to the falls. Well worth the effort. Even though there wasn't much water flowing today it is still quite a pretty little spot here and it would have been even better with a bit of sun on it. We actually drove past the track into this cache as there is no sign on it to tell people that the falls are there. Such a shame. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Cache needs some glue here.
We were on a mission today, to actually get caches in all 4 pages of the UBD Road Atlas that covers the far eastern section of Victoria that we haven't found a cache in. We would be chasing caches along a predetermined route, not all caches though, just the easily accessible ones, as time would play a factor in what we could and couldn't do.
We set off from Orbost early and headed for the Border on the Princes Highway, before returning to Cann River with a detour to Mallacoota. Then up the Monaro Highway to the Border to get caches in the map that covered this area. In what was a big day of driving, we managed to complete the task and arrived back in Orbost about 4.00 p.m., but that wasn't the end of our day.
We'd planned on grabbing the EGRT - Final at Orbost, but communication with the CO showed we had missed one cache and had to forget the final, so on to the missed cache 11 km away, then the drive to Bairnsdale where we'd made a late booking.
Thank you to all the CO's who placed caches along the route we ended up taking for our special day of caching, we loved the area in which we drove, even managed to cope with the icy mornings with frost on the ground until lunchtime.

Makes you wonder if they don't really want visitors here as we didn't notice a sign to this one out on the main road when heading from the NSW end. At the last minute we spotted a short walkers sign well past where our GPS was telling us to head bush to this one.
The road in was a bit dodgy with piles of crushed bluestone littering the road and we were quite relieved that we didn't give up there and continued on weaving our way around them to the car park for the walk to the falls.
Cache was quickly found at GZ although 1 lot of the 2 attachment pieces is no longer effective.
We did make the walk to the falls along a well marked track with good steps but there wasn't much water going over. Imagine it would be quite spectacular after heavy rain though. Some interesting large boulders down there too.
Thanks.

Catching up with some very late logs.
Found this cache and great location. Staying at Mallacoota for the last night.
Thanks Rollmatrix

Nice hide, should be a great place in the wet, not much water running at the present time. TFTC.
What a beautiful little place. We would have missed if not for the easily found cache. Many thanks Rollmatrix

Being born and bred in Victoria, this was the first time I had been to this area. As I had driven from Newcastle early this morning, I still had a few kms to drive before setting down for the night, and as such, didn't journey down to the falls. Fortunately being a micro, the cache was spotted not long after arriving at GZ. Beautiful area.

It took me a couple of tries to find the right track to this place
But on the second go,
I arrived rather surprised at a sign posted walking trail
No signs on the highway !! [:o]
But here is a real gem of a spot to visit in Croajingalong
With the cache found at the carpark,
I had to take the stroll to the falls [^]
Hey !! That's why the cache brought me here !!

Quick find with Gonefishen07 on our way to complete a mission. Trying to finish up the UBD map challenge. TFTC
Quick find on the way past with Zobo04 rushed for time so didn't checkout the falls. On a mission to complete the UBD Challenge. TFTC
Love the smell of the eucalypts after some rain. The Chief made short work of the find & we were off again. TFTC
Out and about with Deep_99 on a coastal road trip. TFTC. What a beautiful spot- well worth the small walk
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which is to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota (where we are heading to at present), Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
This one took a lot longer to find Ground Zero than it took to find the cache. First of all we missed turn in the dark, then having turned around we started off down a forest track, Geona Creek Road, which wasn't a good road for our hire car! We then drove back up the road and third time lucky found the correct way in to the cache, where we moved on to a nice quick find. Unfortunately it was far too late and far too dark to check out the Falls, but it was an adventure none the less - thanks so much for the cache!

Found by Swaggie2. We missed the turnoff then had to find a place to do a U-turn. Once at GZ Daff jumped out of the car and grabbed the cache before i had even turned off the engine.

Steve & Erin, on a holiday caching mission to explore what the local area has to offer ))
Found at 10:52 AM GAFF1.
We skipped this cache yesterday as we were towing our van and thought that we were not going to be able to get out of there. So today we headed over and thought - just as well we didn't go in with the van. It would have been a tight fit.
A nice secure hide.
Thanks Rollmatrix.

We have been looking forward to doing this one since speaking with CO and it didn't disappoint. Awesome rocks. Not a lot of water but still lovely. Cache quickly found tftc
Exploring the East Gippsland. Now in the Genoa / Mallacotta area. Despite being rainy, we had a short fast stroll to the falls . Tftc
Its raining a little bit and I'm not sure when I've got to pick up the walkers on the double creek track, so gave the walk down to the stream a miss today. Are the dragons still in residence?
What an awesome sight after the 84mm of rain that fell last night

Nice slippery trail on a rainy day. WE were disappointed about the Bad weather but now we are encouraged
