I have driven over the top of this place many, many times and I had no idea there was a whole world below. Today I entered the underworld and went exploring. Apart from the hum of the traffic it was quite peaceful and the blend of concrete and mangroves made some interesting scenery. It didn't take too long before I saw the cache gaurdian here but retrieving the cache contianer was a bit tricky. The parts have separated and the container no longer has a cover so the logbook was a little damp. I was still able to sign my name and returned the parts to their places as best I could. Thanks again for the cache TwoKnight and for the really interesting walk I had through the area today.

9/8/2023 Find #6401
I decided on the spur of the moment to head in to my caching black hole today - the city and nearby surrounds. Now normally I don’t like being in the city at all, but today I was determined to ignore that fact and get out there and make some finds.
Having completed the nearby Adventure Lab series, I decided I should actually also grab this little series (yes it would’ve been smart for me to have done them alongside each other but I hadn’t actually looked at the map well enough when I was making my decisions today).
The little guy has come unglued but is still sitting on top ok here. I was just rolling up the logbook when DisSister wandered back past me, having seen her already once today.
Thanks for the cache TwoKnight.

Apologies for the late log here (10.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.A wet day to tackle these on a damp and dank walk into town. At least this didn't take too much spotting, while the rain hammered down all around. TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.

Found at 1400hrs

Well that took way too long, I feel the hint is useless. I searched one rocky area where my GZ was for an hour.

After a nudge from the CO, I widened my search area by about 6-8m and bingo sitting up high and proud was a tiny container.

My searching skills are just a sign of the times!!

21-May-22
With all the miserable weather we felt like it has been so long since we found a cache. We were having withdrawal symptoms like you do when you haven’t had a wine for 12 hours, even if 10 of those hours are spent sleeping. We hadn’t spent tonnes of money on rain jackets and umbrellas to stop a little drizzle from ruining the show.

Driving in the rain was nothing more than an annoying mosquito so we held lots of hope. Of course it absolutely opened up and started pouring when we parked the car. We stayed there waiting for a podcast to end before we jumped out.

We walked down to GZ and quickly found the hide which was somehow full of water until we realised there wasn’t a lid. Somehow though, the log was keeping the water in and we had to retreat to the car to get a device to help it out. Of course once the log was out the water that was trapped found it’s way onto my jumper.

We didn’t hold hope for it because it was submerged but it was a miracle that the log was dry enough for us to add our initials. It was a miracle like turning water into wine or the first time your kids learn how to use the washing machine. tftc

24-Mar-22
Didn’t know what to expect here after the recent floods but as we approached GZ DisSister decided to check out an obvious spot and hey bingo there it was. There’s still signs of the flooding here with rubbish still caught higher up in the trees and plants flattened and the mud all scaly as it dries but at least the cache was safe and dry.TFTC

24-Mar-22
Could see the whole area had been under water in the recent flooding with debris up high in the trees nearby, so we were surprised when we spotted the cache in the first place we looked, safe and dry in its hiding spot and completely unaffected by the floods. TFTC TwoKnight

14-Mar-22
I would be keen to know if this one is still there after the flood. It is up high but I'm not sure how high the water reached. Will disable if someone tells me it's not there.

Temporarily disabled as damage is irreparable and will need to fashion a new container.

25-Jun-21
Out and about today and thought a visit to the underworld might be fun. Found nice n easy. But just to let you know it had been nibbled by something and there were holes in the log container. When I picked it up it literally fell apart in three pieces. I taped it back up and placed it safely back in his hidey hole. But you will need to perform some maintenance on it ASAP. Sorry to find it in this state. TFTC.

17-Jun-21
I was on the path this afternoon finishing off the nearby labs and bonus cache, so took a detour to grba this on the way. I'm not sure if this has been found by someone who chose not to log it, but the piece that holds the log is not in great shape. It made extracting the log easier than it might have otherwise been, but is barely holding together when reassembled. Twisted

I gingerly removed the log, added my name and commenced replacement. Rather then risk any more damage to the container, I tore a little off the end of the log so it would go back in and not place too much pressure on the cylinder. I hope I didn't remove the previous finders name, but not sure. Surprised

Reassembled as best I could and returned to its lair, this one would benefit from a CO visit and a little repair work. A nicely crafted cache though, thanks TwoKnight.

04-May-21
This evening, I decided to ride my bike home via Bowen Hills, taking the opportunity to complete the *BOWEN HILLS/WINDSOR MEANDER* Adventure Lab and finding a few of *Underworld* geocaches. I normally ride home north-west through Victoria Park, and then crossing Enoggera Creek at Herston, but I rode the bike track a little further to then find a few geocaches during a period of nice weather.

So wow, I really did waste a lot of time looking in the wrong area for this geocache. I attempted to use a similar strategy from last time with a past photo, hoping it would pinpoint my focus in my search. However, I think this did the opposite, as there appeared to just be so many possible hiding spots, and after exhausting the area, I decided to follow my GPS and my gut. As it turned out, the cache was located in a logical hiding place that I should have checked first up. It was only at this geocache, that I started to understand what the hints meant (although, they aren't much help in locating it in the first place). A creative and nicely themed cache, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. In fact, it was a new logbook that allowed me to stamp in this one. I had dropped the container lid during my extraction, and so needed to spend another five minutes searching for that within the ground, and thankfully, I managed to locate it. Thanks TwoKnight for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

After dropping L’DeVine off for a service in Albion I thought I’d walk this way and hunt for these caches...

This one, after taking note of its size I actually found on the ground... I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to be there... made my mark and put it a little higher... tftc...

We totally mucked this up. Thought the hint meant something totally different then realised we were overthinking it, I suppose that's what happens when interpretation is involved. Great to finally make a find

A nice day to walk in the drizzle. Getting the car serviced, so I Thought I might as well get a few caches around this region.
Found it too easy because of the plastic bag. Looked at previous logs to see that it was not the CO’s original intention. So with his/her permission ???have removed the bag. It’s now back to normal. It a lovely cache.

Found white out and about those afternoon collecting a few caches.
This one had me in circles for a bit due to a bouncy gps, I was drawn to a certain feature which turns out to have been the right place.
Log was very tricky to get out, have hopefully replaced it so that it's a little easier for the next finder. The midgees were very happily I spent the extra time there.
Log signed and cache replaced as found.
Thanks TwoKnight for the cache.

Looking for a couple of caches to wrap up the Sunday afternoon and spotted a couple around this area. We have never been to this spot so worked out where we were going to park, and we were off.
We parked along side Mann park. A few people about, very popular with joggers, cyclists and other dog walkers. After greatjustgreat had a quick play in the playground, we headed off to find the first cache of the afternoon. We weren't sure where to start, and a sign told us to venture no further, but spotted quickly (a bit of a fluke). Cache was retrieved, and log book extracted without the need for a tool. Log book signed in smudgy red felt tip, and returned in between passing muggles.
Thanks very much for the cache. Nice quiet spot. We loved it here.

I had to work back tonight so I could only manage a couple on the way home. This one has been sitting on my map for a while and today was the day to grab. I need to continue my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day. While I am very close to finishing my cache a day challenge, it is getting harder to find a cache close to work and also near home, while still being able to fulfil work commitments.

Tonight I had to pick something that was easy to find in the dark. I pulled up and started my walk to this one the area is very well lit up but I still took a torch. I found the cache very easily however retrieving the log was a mission; in fact I was unable to get it out. It has been pushed so far back and squeezed in that I spent 15 minutes and using tweezers, I was still unable to get it out. It is a very funny cache just the same.

Thank you for placing this one here, I did enjoy it.

Took longer than I'd like to admit but got there in the end! Wasn't where I originally was searching but after turning myself around a bit I spotted and retrieved it no problem.

Unfortunately I could not seem to get the log out, even with tweezers! It was firmly wedged in there. I sent CO a photo to confirm the find. Thanks for doing this series, loved finding this little path - always looking for new walking spots. TFTC!

Decided to go for a little stroll before work - mostly as an avoidance strategy, because work sucks, but also because a bad walk is better than a good day in the office Smile.

There was quite a bit of foot traffic and two wheeled traffic this morning, but thankfully enough gaps in the traffic to be able to search in relative peace.

This was a nice quick find, and only after I found the cache did the hint make sense. Cache and log are both in good condition. After this I continued down the path to find another...
