Day 2 in Yass region today, doing some shopping and some caching, even managed to squeeze in a good samaritan by taking a local home to Bowning, it would have been a long walk. Mainly caching around town today, taking it nice and easy.

We approached this cache with confidence - no recent DNFs and only one overall. But despite spending a good 15 minutes here we had no success. Caching mojo has certainly deserted us since our lunch break.
#15054. A big day driving south from Lorne, NSW to Yass. We had hoped to stay in Goulburn but the entire town was booked out, as was much of the surrounding area. A huge horse event and a holy retreat meant no accommodation for miles.
A tiring drive with only 2 finds and 2 DNF's until we reached Yass. After dinner we rushed around in the dark and gathered a few more.
Thanks smimttengranny for the new log sheet. We arrived in the dark to be greeted by the plaintiff cries of sheep just metres from us behind the fence. Eerie. Fortunately we were shielded in our search and I quickly spied what we were searching for. Sat in comfort and added our names to the log sheet.
Thanks Topdeck.Whiteboy

Day seven of our quick trip north. BettyBoo3747 and I spent today travelling from Lorne to Yass. Not a lot of caches, just a few on the highway, the a quick half dozen after dinner in Yass.
Been a while since I have seen a Newfoundland. Could see any at GZ as it was dark! Did hear a lot of sheep bleating about the place though.
Nice hide not where I was looking - BB spotted it.
Thanks, Robmc.

Today I decided to stay away from PTs so I drove out to Yass to see how many smilies I could add to my tally. I had a fabulous day with no DNFs though at times I came close to walking away from the more difficult finds.
Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for us all to find. My name has been added to all the logs, though mostly as SG. TNLN. .

In Yass with SES for training and was happy to head out with a car full of cachers. Nice quick find and we were back on the hunt for more smiles
Down in Yass for the weekend with SES. We headed out after our days training to grab a few caches by night. With a handful of caching buddies we had a good night traversing the area.
With the team on the hunt we soon had this one.
Thanks

Not quite sure if it was moved or if we were just too new at this... Using the compass to try and find was pointing us into someone’s property, grass was also very overgrown so perhaps wrong time to be looking?

A chance to get out of the house with the fine spring weather. Down the Hume to yass (a frequent caching ground as of late) through murrumbateman to canberra then back up the federal highway to goulburn.
The idea was to get a handful of caches we had missed or that had been recently published along this route.
Most finds were fairly simple with a few needing to step back and look at the bigger picture at times. TFTC

Headed out with DarksideDan for a few caches in Yass on a frosty Saturday morning. 6 hours later we had gorgeous warm weather, 40 caches under our belts and a fabulous lunch at the cafe in town. A great morning out getting some numbers with lots of laughs and a few interesting bird sightings on the way. Unless otherwise stated, caches found quickly and in good order.
Thanks Topdeck.Whiteboy for the cache!

Can you say road trip. Today I headed out with AG27 to go on a caching road trip to Yass. Together we collected 40 caches. I took some excellent photos and had a stunning lunch. Thanks heaps for the cache.
On the way to 8000 finds... only about 300 to go!
I went on a recreational caving weekend in Wee Jasper with my bushwalking club this weekend. Only I didn't arrive at the campground untill 11 at night! A very cold weekend, survived mainly by my nice and warm -12 degree sleeping bag, and spending most of the time underground. We didn't exit the last cave exploration until 2pm Sunday, so after we showered and packed up camp I didn't get around go caching until 3pm!
But there have been quite a few new caches published around Yass since I was there last, and a couple of older ones that I DNFed previously, I had a lot to look for before it got too dark and the rain started to fall down.
In the end I managed to find 25 today and reach a total of 7707 finds.
Thanks for all the caches!

*Our last day in Yass, in the good company of Suscoe, we concentrated on finding caches within a 5 km radius of the town. That still set us quite a high target for the day. Just as the rain started, we signed our final log - 44/44 smiley tokens!!*
A nice quick find today - quickly spotted by H-P.
Thanks Topdeck.Whiteboy for placing cache.

Suscoe and Phetlern were out and about for our last day of caching in the Yass area.
The day started cool and a little cloudy, but it was fine until the last cache was found and then a thunder storm rolled across from the western hills. Great timing we reckoned.
A really pleasant day of town and nearby caching with a good mixture of hides and fun on the way around the roads.

A day of caching with dty73 had us heading to Yass today. Despite a cold and very foggy morning start to the day, it turned out to be a beautiful sunny and even warm day with all caches found. A variety of very different caches awaited us, some a little more challenging than others, and a few quite spectacular locations as well.
Felt very popular pulling up with the car and having the very friendly sheep race over to meet us! They stood at the fence very vocal and was very amused by them. After our hellos and clearly we didn't have what they wanted, a short search and we at least had what we needed. Thanks for the cache Topdeck.Whiteboy.

Aquilus1 and I decided that as we both had a couple of hours to spare, we would head to Yass!
We were greeted by very friendly sheep who came running to us as we pulled up. After a chat, we searched for the cache which took only seconds. So obvious when you know where it is, but aren't they all. TFTC Topdeck.Whiteboy!!!

Out with Goldenwattle and Decrypter for a trip to Yass.
We parked close to GZ and had a bit of an idea where to look. Cache spotted fairly quickly. The sheep nearby were interested in what was happening and came to the fence, but were wary if we came too close. TFTC.

Quite a breezy spring day. Not unpleasant, but it blew my hat off occasionally. Today I returned to Yass for unfinished business. I am always surprised by the interesting places Yass has to offer. I found some very cool spots today: Hatton's corner was certainly a highlight with sone monumental geology to see there. Yass's railway history was also a focus today.

Out and about with CAD exploring Yass ... Soon spotted what we were looking for T4TC:)
This was a really sneaky cache! It seems to fit its hiding spot perfectly and is quite a nifty little container I like it
I searched all over the object and couldn't find it before moving over to the fence but there were some kids and a farmer with the loud sheep who looked over my direction and made me nervous.
Quickened my pace and was happy to finally nab the little bugger and move on!

Coordinates were very good for this one, but to make up for it, the sheep behind the fence were extremely noisy! I wonder if they treat all cachers like this They shut up after I found the cache, maybe they were trying to tell me where to look! Thanks again Bewitched to Poky!
Another bus stop but a different style of hide quickly spotted by Novice1 while we looked elsewhere.
After arriving at our overnight camp this morning we headed out to find the caches in the area.
Following the caching trail it was like doing a tiki tour of your area. It certainly a good way to see the countryside.
The neighbour accross the road came out as many times she has seen people at GZ. We explained the game to her & she showed alot of interest in geocaching.

Had a great day caching around Yass with fitzy1965 and mtrax. Managed to triple my previous best for most caches found in a day and passed the 600 finds mark. Most caches were found easily with only one DNF for the whole day.
Spotted this one straight away but took a bit of effort to get out. Thanks Topdeck.Whiteboy

10065. Found during a great run up through the Yass region with mtrax and Dwarf Exploder.
Despite the chance of rain the three of us met early this morning and did the quick trip up to Yass for a day of caching. A great day - over 50 caches for myself with only a single DNF. This was my next find for the day - and it was a nice quick find. Signed, returned, and then we headed off to the next one.

Today was the long awaited trip to Yass with Luckyl10n and Sol de Lune. A few caches achieved on the way out and then back in Canberra, but over thirty for me in Yass. Plenty of variety, and a few very sneaky ones. The day was pretty hot but we managed a few short walks foe some of the caches.

#3897 - 13:50; A plan was hatched with Sol de lune and albida33 to do a caching run to Yass over Christmas/New Year break. Various commitments meant it didn't come to pass until today. We headed off at a quite civilised hour and collected a couple of caches near Murrumbateman on the way through. This one was a nice quick park and grab as we explored the western borders of the town. Nabbed this one on the way back for a quick find and a stretch of the legs. Saw this new one on the map so swung past to have a go. Drove up early from Canberra and spent 8 hours around Yass seeking out caches. A great day found 44 caches, 2 trackables, $2.00 and a mobile phone. Walked around and into some magnificent historic buildings, visited some nice parts of the Yass River that I never new existed and had some great views. TFTC.
A impromptu geotour of Yass was organised with Rapidlywild to clean up the area of the new caches that had been placed recently. We had a mid to late morning start and headed up the highway. We had a great day as usual with lots of laughs and lots of caches found.
