Good to be back in Blenheim for 1 week and able to clear a few more caches. Out early as my body is still on summer time and we now have an extra hour of light before work. All quiet here and a straight forward find. Last cache before heading to work. Would love to return when the planes are flying.
Not a particularly fast find for me, but I got there in the end with the help of the hint. The next few visitors should not be distracted by my rhinoceros geotrails heading in all directions. Otherwise all in good order. TFTC
Hier ein Zwischenstopp eingelegt nach der Fhre und diesen Cache besucht. Kurz gesucht und dann entdeckt. Somit sagen wir danke fr diesen Cache.
A quick find on a Saturday morning, saw a few model aircraft enthusiasts having fun flying their planes.
Zusammen mit meiner Tochter auf kleinem Roadtrip relativ schnell gefunden. Vielen Dank für diesen Cache. Ganz herzliche Grüße vom Rumtreiber aus Braunschweig, Deutschland.
Too windy for aircraft display today but first class day for geocaching( aren't) all? Easy find, tftc
A nice quick find thanks. Last for the day. Interesting to see the debris up the fence posts.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. We of course had to get there first, and today we cruised around Blenheim and then off to catch the ferry tomorrow., The weather was fine and sunny, until we hit Picton, and now it is raining. We're still having a lovely time.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

After a period of cold rainy winter days, the sun is finally out, and so I'm out on the motorbike for a spot of caching. I had big plans for a ride to Rai Valley, or Pelours Bridge to get some low-hanging fruit, but some errands in the morning consumed half the day, and left me with only 3 hours of daylight. So I had to keep my adventure local, and headed out to ride along the Tuamarina Track and check out the Waikakaho, before heading back to town.
Unfortunately, the Miner's Track at the top of Waikakaho was closed due to logging action, yet I was hoping to scope it out to see if it's suitable for motorbikes. If anyone knows, please let me know. Additionally, the lack of mobile network meant I was unable to check for any caches up the valley, so will certainly need to return.
I had my doubts when I saw the title of this one, but upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to see a well-mown paddock with makeshift taxiways and parking apron.
I'm a big fan of aviation, and often find myself watching model aircraft videos, but I had never known about this particular club field. Sadly no action today.
I may need to come back some time when there's some flying happening.
Thanks for bringing me here GH.

Question: Why is it referred to as "Hardings Road" RC Aircraft site?
Hardings road is in Riverlands...

The fourth of todays school holidays handful. Got near along the road and saw one gate was locked and potentially electric. The other one had better access and no electric. No aircraft so nice and quiet.
We were heading to Blenheim today to fulfil the current Mystery at the Museum souvenir challenge, just find thirty five caches to return the jewels to the vault. Well that is not likely to happen around Nelson with out some pretty hefty or long hill climbs, so Blenheim was our chosen destination. I had made a list of likely caches that we could find, only problem was I forgot to bring the list with us. So we just intended on driving around picking up any that were nearby.
We quickly worked out where the cache would be, so GK popped over the fence and made a quick find.
It had been such a stunning day in Blenheim, a little bit of a breeze and plenty of warm sunshine, but by the time we were in this area it was starting to cool down.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Pretty quick find this afternoon with eltee291. Very quiet in these parts today! Nice area! Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache, GH6710!
Found today with hingis20. The airfield looks in good shape. Nice, quiet day so we decided to head out and get some random caches. Pretty warm out there though (for me anyway). TFTC
A neat little model aircraft “aerodrome” in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks for bringing me here to see it.
Walked through an open gate onto presumably vineyard property and made a quick find. Returned to the car and had my lunch just as a rain shower came through.

A quick easy find at a nice little viewpoint, although no aircraft activity today. TFTC
We were on our annual family reunion/holiday to Momirangi Bay for 10days and Mum and I took a day to head into Blenheim to go geocaching. My purple pen had gone walkabouts at camp which I was abit miffed about (but everyone was looking for it before we left, so I couldnt be too upset) The day started off hot and muggy and got up to 27° but then turned into rain late afternoon so we called it a day and headed back to camp only for it to alot get worse. A great day with 22 finds and when we arrived back at camp my 7yr old niece had brought me a new purple pen.
A nice easy find but I was expecting to see a little plane next to the little house until I read the description properly. Noone else out here but us today. Luckily for me I was wearing inappropriate footwear so I didnt need to remove all the biddy-bids and such from my socks like Mum did. This took much longer than actually finding and signing the cache. Oh the joys of the season. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smiles

This cache has kept appearing on the map when we have been planning trips over the hill b, but just enough out of the way to not be included. Today, Mrs Sobad wanted to find 4 caches from the CO to finish off a challenge - so put 6 on the schedule to give her some room to manoeuvre. Of course, that meant she did find all 6 - but that is never going to be a problem. She found some of the gravel roads but not the one that would have taken her closest to GZ - until she looked down from the cache site to see the final road she should have used.
Thanks for the chance to explore a different side of the river.

This was the first opportunity for Ellie to hop out and have a run around albeit a short one. No modellers doing their thing yet today.
Thanks GH6710 for the cache.

A late afternoon adventure to run the kids and the dog before the rains come Gathered stones for a fire pit, went for a walk then grabbed this little cache on the way back. Decided we would come back and watch the action one day. TFTC.
Out and about with Jo this afternoon for a bit of fresh air and some caches. Met up with big vern and his better half near the end then off for a coffee. TFTC to all COs.
QEF. Wasp nest on another post so glad it wasn't there.

Out with Nana (Darby&Joan) to find a few caches in the area. Were lucky enough to see an aircraft in flight while we visited. SL. TFTC.
Out with Grandson 5 (PDH_NZ) to do some caching locally. Had fun here at the river. Nicely placed cache. Even got to see a model aeroplane take off and fly around. SL. TFTC.
After lunch in Picton, it was time to head back towards Blenheim. I took advantage of being on my own today to tick off the caches along here I usually don't do because of "timing issues". Cheers and TFTC
In the old days (like, last year) I usually had two or three geocaching objectives on the go at once. Lately - just the opne. Get my calendar up to three per day. So here I am, looking for just one cache. This one.
Brand new fence, brand new gate, but brand new easy-open latch. No fly boys here, and I spotted the cache while walking to GZ, which is a bit of a surprise, it's not that big a container.
I'm in my work clothes too, doing this on the way home. By the time I got back to the car (yes, car today) my trousers were covered in seeds. Darn it!
I was a little surprised to see the low difficulty rating given the cache size. And then I read the description. Ah! that's why the low difficulty! You made it easy for us! Maybe I should have read that description before I found the cache...

Having a few more days of leave left to me I decided to head over to Marlborough for a couple of days of finding out of the way caches. The skies were clear today and there was no one around this little airport. I wandered over to where my GPS was pointing and found the cache in about the third place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
Out geocaching on the east side of SH1 between Pukaka Valley and Blenheim with Kiwimykl. He already has this one which made it easier for me, as he gave a hint to speed up the mission.
350 bites to go.

I ran a pocket query earlier this afternoon to see how many unfound caches I have within ten kilometres of home... 18. So I immediately went out and reduced it to 15. The new plan is to see if I can polish them off before I go back to work on the fifth of January next year. I'm not confident of achieving that though as there is a puzzle in Renwick that I have no idea how to solve and another cache hidden in Toi Toi bushes whose CO needs castrating.
This was the second of three this afternoon and was near to Twoamarina and the River which was the first. I remember when Marlborough Associated Modellers used to fly from their Hardings road site, my son flew with the Woodbourne Model Aero Club and we used to visit each others fields regularly for fly-ins. Funny how they refer to their old site.
Fortunately no-one was flying this afternoon so I had a free rein to find the cache.
TFTC GH6710, 16 to go.

I bet they have fun here with their model planes. I once had a teacher who built model planes as a hobby. One day he brought one to school to demonstrate his skills but the story had a very sad ending . - - - Model planes seem to be made of much sturdier stuff these days. Thankfully. TFTC .
Been down here for a couple of caches previously. I did momentarily consider crossing from the other side a couple of weeks ago before sensibility kicked in. Quite distinctly different views on either side from here. TFTC #7730
I came past here earlier in the day but two car loads of young kids were there so just kept driving. No muggles insight this time TFTC

We decided last minute to attend the 365 Day Event organised by the CO. A great opportunity to look for some new and some older caches. And attend to some unfinished business. We escaped the howling winds in Nelson and cruised up to GZ for an easy find. One muggle passed without giving us a second glance and no aircraft were to be seen in any shape or form. Thank you GH6710
This was one of twelve finds for the day on a trip over the hill to celebrate with this CO the achievement of 365 days caching. We had previously been along this road so knew where we had to go. It only took a few minutes before we were signing the log. Thank you GH6710.
After dropping off Miss 16 at the airport this morning for her school trip to Cambodia/Laos I was needing something to take my mind off a whole month without her.
This is a perfect way of distracting me and being out in the stunning marlborough weather is an added bonus.
Haven't been along this spot before - not a muggle or model plane in sight - so a QEF.

Nice day for a road trip after dropping our passenger off at the ferry. It's been a long time since we travelled along the Port Underwood Road so a good opportunity to experience it again with time to stop along the way and do some geocaching. Good hide. TFTC.
A week after the MEGA 219 caches in a day. Back to more achievable numbers now
Found with capperz, see his log for details

Out for a family day out to Picton today and the weather gods have yet again smiled on us and provided a crackerjack sunshine day. We packed no picnic this time, just Tally the geodog, mrs capperz and nightowl19 and a G P S with just a few recent placed caches loaded in and a hope to clear those caches from my map.
Only 6 caches today, quite the change from this time last week where we nailed 219 in the day. But that's what you get when you cache in virgin territory!
Dragged the little Honda car down this gravel and no problem. Gave the geodog Tally a run and she was happy. Q E F as hinted and on we go back towards town
T F T C G H 6 7 1 0 and COME ON THE ALL BALCKS!!

After being accosted at the new DOC cache I was alerted to this one.
The C.O. who was being chauffeur driven in a flasher 4WD than his (but not as effective?) and he offered me the co-ords.
Armed with just that , I made an easy find. But all became clearer as to the why when I looked at the cache page (WIFI Picton). Nice one.
Heading home for a nice hot shower.
Cheers GH6710, until next time.
