Has gone for a walk. Will need to make a new one and that will take time I don't have at the moment
Gave up on this one after a fair bit of searching. So many ants here and so many option for a cache. Better look for others.

Based on the name I thought I knew how it could be hidden but gave it enough time as there’s lots more caches to find in New Plymouth. Either the camo was too good for us or the cache is missing. May need a CO check?
A sad face for us on this one - had a good hunt for 5 - 10 minutes, even consulting the club but no luck today. We noted it hasn't been found in over a year so walked away without a find - we will return another day!
All was quiet here as I was passing so I thought I'd have a go at finding this cache.
Sadly after a good search at a few different spots I had no luck.

Great find and nice conceal amongst a little ant colony. Nice build aswell! TYFTF
Well deserved Fav point for the cleverness of this well thought out constructed container. Utter frustrating search with a reward at the end of it.
The search was out here for a while. I was checking out the wall and he was checking elsewhere. Finally found this tricky one. But frustrating getting the log back in. Cheers
Day 10- Monday 23 December. Around New Plymouth today with an event at Pukekura Park to top the day off.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Taybeedragon was pulling the wall to bits here, while I cast around looking for other places a cache might hide, while we were filling in time before the markets. Eventually found the cache was found and I am quite impressed with it. Alas, won't fit a path tag.
Day eleven of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is wandering about New Plymouth
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

After a ten minute search the store owner came out to nicely greet us. He knew what we were up to. He then went on to explain he moved it as his been doing work where it way originally placed. After another ten minutes of searching of where he thought he put it he then quit and said it was moved onto the far end of gabions wall (road side) and told us exactly what to look for. We then dug and climbed into the flax before chalking this as a fail. It's possible it's here somewhere maybe been kicked, thrown or buried outa sight. We weren't sure if this should be a dnf but we might have never had a chance. Thanks anyway.
A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Day 3 New Plymouth to Christchurch via a few hours in Auckland!
Brilliant thunderstorm shattering the nights sleep. But the day dawned fine. A morning caching in NP before our lunchtime flight to Auckland.
Late morning thunder passed over so just a little time for a couple more caches before our flight to AKL for a brief stopover before heading to CHC.
Unfortunately 4 of us came up empty handed here...gave ot a good look - no such luck though. Must be good camo!

About time I got this one, must have been my 5th attempt, but then that is after I got a clue from jonnomel85, I was looking in the total wrong direction, spotted it, sign the sheet, and replaced, tftc dragon gem, favourite point from me for my persistent
It was time to assemble Team BOP as I hadn't seen these crazy people since the Mega. The plan was Taranaki via the Forgotten World Highway and we were all pretty excited about it. It was a big couple of days so forgive the cut'n'paste logs as I'm logging retrospectively and a few of the hides are starting to blur together. Not this evil one though! The middle of the night - no one around and it's the perfect time for this one. We didn't get lucky here and it did take 4 of us a while to find. Very cool and indeed, not like the others TNXPro, McJandals, Davidson Clan & myself signed our logs individually or as TEAM BOP depending on time, log space or mood. Cheers & TFTC An easy favourite from me.
TeamBOP have come together again for a trip to the Naki. Team BOP consists of myself (obviously), McJandals, Philip.Perry and DavidsonClan.
We decided to take the long way there, via the Forgotten Highway, experiencing the world famous in New Zealand Republic of Whangamomona Day.
After enjoying the light festival and finding a few caches in the gardens, we continued into the night. Luckily it was night time as searching for this would be tricky with commercial vehicles coming and going.
There was no-one about while we were here so it gave us plenty of time (because we needed it) to make the find. I really hate searching around these plants with those poisonous spikes ready to take an eye out.
Thanks to all the CO's for attracting us to the Taranaki.

Fast running out of FPS. Bloody awesome. Found using Cachly app and logged using the text template, so please excuse generic logging in advance. On a spur of the moment roadie with Phillip.Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan from the Bay of Plenty, a plan was hatched and here we are. Great to have these places to visit and many thanks to all you COs for the placements. Cheers
In New Plymouth for the weekend with Philip.Perry McJandals and Tnxpro. Signed log Team BOP to save space on log sheets. FP took us a while .

Day Five of a 12 day, 3000 km road trip around the North Island with the primary objectives being the Taupo Ultra Marathon on the 13th and my first ever caching Mega event in Wellington on the weekend of 20th & 21st. With thousands of possibilities for caches to look for on the way, I had to be very selective and decided to concentrate on special types, solved puzzles, ones that would fill missing spots in my statistics grids and those with good numbers of favourite points, plus maybe a few extras that were close by those.
Today was spent in and around New Plymouth and although the weather was a bit cloudy and windy, there was no sign of rain to interfere with caching activities.
This was one with good FP numbers, and conveniently located on our route to see Rewarewa bridge, so made sure to stop off to look. Not too sure about the distance measurement in the hint which I think may be a little understated. Knowing that I shouldn't be looking near the fence or garden there, I concentrated my search a bit further away. And what do you know.? There was one that was not like the others. A very well crafted cache fully deserving of an FP from me too. Signed the log and then replaced back safe and secure for the next finder. TFTC

Found it on a day out with the girls and hubby. Had a lovely walk beside the river. Tftc real cool camo
This is a great cache nice easy find maybe not so easy putting it back together haha
Last day in Taranaki before heading South tomorrow. All packed up so what else to do than get a few more smilies and Planetary points.
Had previously looked for this (obviously without luck), so decided to call back tonight. Refreshed the data, and wonderful - recently replaced and no finds since. That was good news. Even better was that I found it within minutes of looking. Hmm, but how to get in? Carefully wasn't working, so applied a little more pressure in the right direction and there was the confirmation it was the cache. Quickly signed the new log, replaced.
Another favourite for the well constructed container. Wow, that's 2 this evening!
Thanks for the smilie dragon gem.

I searched until bleeding from a number of pokes from the prickles. Mrs. A was helping too ... but no luck. Leaving 2moro. There is still time for a hint!
Found after two of us doing a lot of grovelling on hands and knees and grid searching. A relief to find it, thanks dragon gem!
We were fortunate to find this fairly quickly. Thanks for the well crafted placement.
I've had this one on my watch list for quite a while with it being my last one to find in the valley. Always felt a bit exposed looking for this one.
Returned today on a quiet Sunday afternoon and spotted it quite quickly. I'm not sure how I didn't see it the first two times as it is exactly the type of camo i initially expected.
Good to finally knock it off.
Cheers.

We found this one on our week long holiday in New Plymouth; after a thorough search found the very craft hide. Nice one!
Having done the cryptex we popped down here to get this one too. When we got to GZ we saw something that looked very familiar to us so new to treat with caution. Avoiding the prickly bits was the order of the day and it was Mrs Tuolei that found the cache in the end as she is more patient than me! Another very clever cache by this CO, well done.
Well that was a prick of a cache took multiple attempts to find it but we got there in the end you're an evil person but I take my hat off you haha cheers
Unfortunately we searched high and low but we could not spot the cache. Any additional hints greatly appreciated. Thanks
so a log gave us an idea of where to look, we had to take care as the workshop was open and a guy was floating around, I only spotted by pure luck and had a WOW moment of never seeing it like this before, back to the car to sign the log cache is all in good order and back where it belongs, thanks for another great find +FP
rustynz tells me I need to catch up with all my logging!
A 3 day weekend of fun with a group of Westies (rustynz, gorby, jag58 & merlot58)
Sorry for the generic logs. Thanks to all the CO for the hides, and the adventure

I was with a Team of Westies in New Plymouth to find some caches. With dark clouds gathering we arrived at GZ and set about searching, and searching and searching! I think nearly all of us had handled the cache without realising it before Rustynz had a closer look. That is evil!!
A few Westies (Gorby, Merlot58, RustyNZ, Rebel98 and ourselves had booked some time ago to come to New Plymouth for the weekend. This was on our hit list and after having met the CO the night before we were even more determined to try and find this one. Pure genius. It took us quite a while before RustyNZ finally claimed the find on our behalf. A very evil and clever cache and a favourite from us.
Starting to get a little damp now with the weather, but nothing damp about our enthusiasm, finding, trying to find I'd say this cache.! Yea, it's an evil one let's make THAT clear! Took us ages of going in circles, eventually rusty found it, I'm sure I spotted that before... Dragon gem, love your work here mate! You have put some real effort into this cache, so simple yet devilishly cunning. A FP from me for sure.
Out and about with some cool cachers from West Auckland, rustynz, Rebel98, merlot58, Jag50.

With the rain not too far away, it was time to target some of the caches with lots of favourite points, so here we are, huddled around looking for some mysterious treasure.
To the outside world, we must have looked just a little unusual, each of us trying to be methodical, asking for the hint again, debating the distance, staring at the GPS for some kind of sign or revelation (yes there is one, if you look at the cache page!)
But out in the field no such hint, and for the next finders beware the prickles, gorby took a hit for the team.
Thankfully the universe was on our side, and the cache was found. A clever, and yes "evil" hide, but fun to find too
Thanks for the hide, log signed as Team Westies (Gorby, merlot58, rustynz, Rebel98 and Jag50)

Well while I'm in the area why not find another of theirs and add to the logs they have been getting from me in the last couple days. Yes I found it. Lot easier than a lot of nano I have done. Clever camo. Tftc
A lot of activity at the near by business when we arrived, but no one approached us. We were in and out pretty quick though [;D].
Had to be careful of all the dog poo around too.
Another nicely set up cache, thanks dragon gem.

I loved the cache, but was not impressed with the surrounds, got there in the end, the owner of the business came and checked the old ladies out
Took a little time to find this one. But after thinking about the hints we were in luck. Greatly hidden. Awesome camo, deserves a favourite point. Tftc
This would have to be in our top 10 of evil hides out of our 13500 finds. Very well done TFTC.
Wow, yes, this is a late log. This was part of a fabulous trip to NZ that got me way behind my logging. I've always liked to tell stories about caching adventures, and so even though life was getting busy, I told myself each of these caches deserves a story and so I'll log them as soon as I have time. In hindsight, I probably should have just logged them, because now many years later I have a huge pile of draft logs and unfortunately am destined to write a generic log just so that I can get back into caching. Having so many to log I think ultimately contributed to the several year slump I'm realizing I need to get out of. So anyways, since it's time to get back into the hobby, this log will have to suffice. Here's to many great adventures ahead, and the ability to tell future stories. This was part of a fabulous trip which I really enjoyed! TFTC!
Had three oldies scrabbling around for a while, but not for too long. A cleverly crafted cache and another fav from us.
Particularly during trips I seek out the best caches. Puzzles are highly rated, as are caches which involve an adventure. As such, I'm always short of favourite points, as I don't get many 'filler' caches. Even though this cache doesn't have any of the normal factors - it was too good not to award!
#8720. We came to New Plymouth for an overnight visit. After a late dinner, we went out to do a spot of night caching. Arrived at Constance Street in Waiwhakaiho to see if we could find the one not like the others. GZ was all quiet at this time. This made for an uninterrupted search. Identified the nature of the hide relatively quickly, but it still took a couple of passes before we found the well-hidden cache. It was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log at 22:55.

Today was day one of a four day ‘camp’ I have been fortunate enough to lead and organize for the ‘SJCgeocamp’ group. The SJCgeocamp group consisted of ten motivated fourteen year old boys who had chosen to join me and another adult for a trip to New Plymouth to experience Geocaching for the first time during their school camp week. I really enjoyed researching the trip which consisted of a variety of geocache types, sizes and difficulties in a variety of locations, some more challenging to get to than others. We were after quality rather than quantity and mostly visited geocaches with a high numbers of favorites and by CO’s with good reputations for providing unique hides. Thanks to all the cache owners, the boys had a great time.
Driving back to the accommodation after finding what we thought would be the last find of the day, one of the boys pointed out we would be driving past a dragon gem cache and I didn't need much coaxing to stop for a look. A tough find made much easier with twelve pairs of eyes searching the area.

Credit goes to my daughter on this one, she found it within a few minutes of me pointing out one possibility and she checked the next one.
My granddaughter rushed to and found this one as she has already visited here before. She really wanted to find it before me. Killjoy. Great hiding place. Thank you
GPS is taking me the long way home for the Mega. Finding lots of great caches on the way. TFTC
Took a while looking but found it in the end. Thanks Matthew Supertramp. Very clever. One of the best caches I have seen.
Very cleaver cache. Took a while. As so did most others who have found this. Reading the logs helped. TFTC
Down in New Plymouth for the weekend to visit the offspring and managed to slip out for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon with my caching daughter-in-law. We had a great time and found some superb caches along the way. Took us several minutes for this one, but we got there. TFTC
We visited New Plymouth hoping to get our numbers up and get lots of caches this weekend but New Plymouth as decided to test our brain and caches are taking longer than we thought they would to get. We tried for this one a very long time ago with the idea of what the cache will be but no luck but today still thinking the same way and yes we were in luck signed the log and placed back as found another FP from us. thank you for placing a great cache here. TFTC
In Taranaki for the weekend and collecting a few caches along the way with tmann421.
Lots of fun had with the variety of caches in the area. TFTC ... a great hide!

Gorgeous day in New Plymouth, needed to get some more km on (TB) Jeeping down under odometer After reading through the logs we had a fair idea and it was quickly in hand! TFTC
A really well concealed cache. Lots of looking and yay it was finally spotted. A fav point from us as we missed it a couple of times. TFTC
Another great cache by dragon gem, my favorite so far. After an hour of looking I found it. Well worth the search!
