Not sure on why a needs archived log was posted on the as cache disabled last week. Will look at replacing in the coming weeks
After looking around and touching the skulpture for w ahile we gave up after we saw 4 dnfs.
Pity, there seem to be quite a few caches around Napier that have been muggled or need repairs done. Hopefully this will be back next time
Lots of people around. Didn't spot cache while taking photos. Will come back another time when I am in the Bay.
In napier for the day and stopped to grab lunch from a cafe. Noticed there was a cache straight across the road and thanks to the keen eye (and agility) of my son we soon spied the cache and had it in hand. Thanks for bringing us here
Took us a little bit longer. Logbook is completely full. Thanks for hiding the cache and maintenance!
The logbook was totally ful. We logged it by FIN, when we found a small empty space. Greetings from Finland. TFTC
It was a good time to search for this cache, and fimis found it quickly
TFTC and greetings from Finland!
TFTC and greetings from Finland!
Fine to find this cache. The paper is full. We have logged with FIN, there are finkvu, finulvu, fimis and siilietana. TFTC.
Fortunately street was empty to do the catching. This logged name FIN(). Greetings from Finland. TFTC
It was very muggly around GZ but, from a reading of the logs, we had a pretty good idea of where to look and I was tall enough to spot the cache from ground level. It was then a matter of waiting for the right moment to grab it.
As mentioned by others, the log is full. We tried to sign in a tiny space but our scribbles are fairly indistinct. I took a photo as well.
Nice one, thanks Jodiporsche.

Mum and the kids went searching for this one late on a Sunday afternoon - and Mum was very pleased that 13YO was with her... After searching a while, Mum read some past logs and widened the search (to a place she considered and dismissed earlier). 13YO found it quickly - so pleased we chose late on a Sunday to look for this one! It would be impossible during high muggle activity!

Out on a chilly evening, no muggles, no problems! Good to have a reason to check out Napier's artworks. TFTC
Great evening and it helps to be tall so a quick bounce up when no muggles about TFTC
Not many muggles about when we visited. Quickly located and replaced cache without any problems. TFTC. Cheers
Awesome day out cashing with Uktravixxxen..... great wee hide.... I looked in that spot 3 times before I found it
The street was fairly deserted so a quick hop up and the cache was ours. TFTC.
Not sure about climbing on the sculpture - seems wrong. If the nano were the same colour of the sculpture as camouflage it could be lower and reachable from the ground, albeit by a tall person. Just saying! TFTC
A slightly naughty hide as it’s on a sculpture and encourages climbing it. Anyway, another smiley.
I was thankful the 'he' was with me as I couldn't reach the container. TFTH Jodiporsche
We have to climb the Art as it was really high, no one can reach that, put it a bit down in order not to destroy the artwork, and reflect the T, tftc
Schöne Kunstwerke, selbst in strömendem Regen.

Most of the shops were closed. Therefore no problems with muggles. Thank you for the cache and greetings from Switzerland.
We had a nice walk in the city. Känguru05 spottet it first

We are on an around the world cruise from Ft Lauderdale, FL, USA. From here we will do Australia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Africa. Thanks for an easy cache and one of 2 I got in Napier. Also replaced log with new one. Cache good to go, but one really needs to be tall.

On our stop from the north to the south wie could find this little one. Thanks for hiding. Greets from germany.
Difficult to found, at least successful. Thank you for hiding. There' s no place to write more names on the paper.
My geocaching day started badly when my bus departed the port area and I realized my GPS was back on the Norwegian Jewel. I toyed with idea of relying on map and overhead imagery screenshots, but decided I needed my GPS (if only as a security blanket). After the other riders left the bus, I had a lovely chat with the driver on my private ride back to the ship.
Fast forward to my arrival to GZ. I had a good idea of where the cache must be, but I was unable to access it (easily, anyway). I mulled over possible solutions and finally recruited a mystified, but willing, local man. Soon after I had my smilie and I was explaining geocaching to him and his wife (whose shopping had been completed). We went our separate ways then, but I’ll bet they think about geocaching once in a while when they pass GZ. Thanks for a memorable start to my geocaching day.

Jenny and I found this cache during a tour of North and South Island, New Zealand. Log signed and cache replaced as found. tftc. Greetings from the UK.

Thanks for the cache, Lupid

During our wonderful vacation in New Zealand Lupid, me, and our little geocaching apprentice managed to find some caches.
Today we visited Napier, a really interesting city. The Art Deco and its "origin" (i.e. the earthquake) is quite unique, I think. On our way through the city we also visited this spot. Due to the T-value I first refrained from searching the hiding place, but then I read some logs - and spotted it eventually

Quick find but would have been difficult during the peak of the day. Nice coloured Nano tfcc log is completely full
Went straight to the cache here - could have taken a while but we got lucky. The log sheet is full and unfortunately we didn't have a replacement, so we crammed our name in amongst some names from 2016. TFTC!
This one could have proven very difficult, but once we eliminated most possibilities we needed some help to check if it was where we thought it might be. Sure enough it was there. The only problem was getting to it... (spoiler, we got to it). Thanks!
Glad we did this one on a quiet rainy evening. Once we found it with the help of our phones, we had to retrieve it when there was a gap in the traffic. Fun one. Tftc
Our journey around NZ continues. This nano cache was found quite quickly.
Logged together with Zuzzu using nickname ZZ FIN.

This cache stumped us for a while. Too many nooks and crannies. The long arms of Geoson proved very useful. Tftc. MattyH from Tassie
We took an after dinner stroll to see the band playing at the sound shell and found this on the way back. Last cache for 2017 Cheers.
And now we travel from Taupo to New Years Eve celebrations in Napier. There have been a few new caches since we were last through this way.
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

A short visit to Napier during our holiday in New Zealand. We walked through the city and passed this one. We needed a good search but we found it!

Tough find. Slightly off our gps. Difficult to remove log but all is well. Enjoying our day in Napier off the Diamond Princess. Our 300th find. TFTC

Too many muggles to do a full and proper search, but I did find something which might have been the remains of the cache - but no container or log book. On the other hand, I might just have missed it.
Thanks Jodiporsche for the cache, anyway

In Wellington off cruise ship Ovation of the Seas. About our 4th visit. With the ship in town there were muggles everywhere. Couldn't spot this one though. Not much time left so moved on.
Was shopping in town for Christmas and thought I'll just have a look and there it was. excellent hiding tftc
Us wild Westies had an event just across the road so before joining the others we had a look for this one. Despite a thorough search we failed to find the cache. We noticed some kids climbing over the artwork while at our event so wonder if maybe some have found and removed the cache, Or we were just blind!
In Napier for a meeting, I went for an evening wander. First find after two unsuccessful attempts elsewhere. The local neighborhood watch patrol and police both drove past me but I looked harmless apparently. Found in the first place I looked which was nice for a change. Couldn't eztract log, it has swollen up with moisture i suspect. Next finder may need tweezers or a pin to extract it. Hello from Adelaide. The most Easterly find I have made (for about 5 minutes.)
Pleased I had muggle friend and daughters with me, it ended up to be a quick find. Cheers.

Day 6 of my NZ trip. Today was a full day in Napier and what a beautiful day it was. It was not an early start due to other activities, so I first headed down to Te Mata peak as I had been advised at the geo-event yesterday. What a majestic place ! but it was quite muggle heavy being a fine Saturday. I grabbed a few of the "easiest" to access caches, that is, those that did not require a day of slogging up and down hills, but even so, some where quite difficult. Then I slowly headed back to Napier and walked along the waterfront, stealthfully grabbing caches as I went. A pretty full day all up.
Luckily I an vertically enhanced. I always feel for the vertically challenged by such placements,

I should have read the previous logs - it would have saved me quite a bit of time. My GPS was wandering a bit and I ended up looking at a couple of red herrings. Eventually whittled down the possibilities and went for it, and success! Fairly quiet, but still a bit of traffic around at this time of night. TFTC

As my husband is a ngati kahungungu descendant we were intrigued by this. Lucky he is tall is all I can say!
Walking in the rain at 7pm so nobody around. First place we looked. No pen so took photo. NINO TFTC
I walked past the artwork and admired it this afternoon on a wander. I was very glad that I chose to search just on dusk as there was a considerable reduction both foot and auto traffic. A quick scan showed something that looked familiar and out of place. A quick grab and a wander away to sign the log and I was off to look for something for dinner.

Had a different idea of the art before we found it. Even so we started to look around and find something magnetic. There was a logical place and yes there was something sticking out. Happily I was big enough to reach for it.

In Napier to hold a black tie dinner last night for work. Out and about early this morning, given the lateness of the hour that I got to bed and feeling reasonably ok, so I decided to do a bit of caching on the way home.
Didn't take too long to spot the cache, but I had to wait for a bit of early Sunday morning traffic to pass before I could collect it. Signed the log and then had to wait until the rubbish man had completed his jobs before I could return the cache to its hide. Another interesting spot. Great artwork. TFTC

Was close to giving up when the previous logs stretched me in the right direction
We decided to head into town looking as smart as we did with our gumboots and jackets on. When we got close to ground zero we knew where we would be looking. I said to Mr watcache can you look there as I'm not able to and yes he got it straight away. Very busy area muggles everywhere, we signed the log and placed it back where we found it. its cold today but at least its stopped raining. lovely art here thank you for placing a cache here. TFTC
Looked all over this before getting an idea where this would be. Glad geo kid was with me to help me retrieve. Also made it less obvious when muggles were going past. I'm sure you will hear about it tomorrow. Tftc
#231. Well, that took a while. Being unable to spot the stated poem, I wondered if somehow this was all wrong. But then, upon reading the logs about tall finders, I realised there was only one place the cache could be, and sure enough! Thanks jodiporsche for the cache, the first one of yours I have found, returning your visit to Welly last year! Sadly, no time to look for any more as Mrs W1nz and I are heading north.
A shaft of light and it was spotted. Very cunning hide in a busy spot. Thanks for bringing us here
Nanos...how I love nanos...this one is well placed and as luck had it a quick find and sign thanks for a great cache
Lucky I had the taller Dee*ME. with me today. Down for breakfast before heading out to the Dixie Chicks. Cheers
